So I just left wakanow ticketing office and they said they received a memo from their head office stating that study visa is not affected. But they told me it's only airlines that can give the actual type of visas that are affected or not. As such they're waiting for further information from the airlines plus people are supposed to fly tonight, that if the airlines allow people with study visa to board, we might have a chance.

I'm heading to Lufthansa and KLM office now if I can get direct info from them.
Please confirm with KLM and update us. Thank you.

That's the issue bro.

Getting an Anglican church in Germany is very hard and I always feel at home whenever I attend Anglican church.

Secondly, most students in Germany hardly attend churches.
It's very hard to see anyone who attends church every Sunday in my city.
Most people here see Sundays as a day to rest and have fun after working hard during the week.
People think more about money, work, school and other worldly things.

My best friend in Nigeria who was always attending the same fellowship with me was angry when I told him about this and he told me to come back to Nigeria and build my spiritual life then go back, but I find it funny.
You seem to be more loyal to a denomination than to God. Or at least, that's how it's sounding to me. Are you first a member of the Anglican church before you're a member of the Body of Christ? Will you allow your spiritual life to continually suffer because you've not found "your" church? And don't listen to those that say you don't need to attend a church. Hebrews 10:25 enjoins us to not forsake the gathering of the brethren. Not attending a church for almost a year (as you stated) is strange already, you'd better attend the nearest Bible-believing church in that Germany and get serious with your personal altar or the desire for God is totally killed. Don't be more religious than spiritual.

Lie from the pit of hell. I'm in Canada and the devil is raging here but with more subtlety. Jesus is always the answer.

@ OP...You'd better find yourself a fellowship...connect to fellow Naija Christians over there with the leading of the Holy Spirit. Strengthen your personal altar. Don't be deceived, there are remnants (no matter the land) that are truly serving God day and night. My spiritual life got seriously sharpened since I got to Canada in Sept 2015. Take heed to your personal altar (the Word, prayer, fasting). And don't be looking for Anglican church but where God wants you to go over there.

Broveens42:
If jesus is God like you guys postulate, why did he call God "my God" severally in your book.
Does it make sense to you?
It's similar to the question Jesus Christ Himself posed to the Pharisees: How come the promised Messiah would be a son (descendant) of David, but David called Him "Lord" in the book of Psalms? Of course, now that we have the complete scriptures to ourselves, we see how it's possible.

Same applies to Jesus calling the Father "My God" and still being God. We will get the perfect understanding once we get into heaven. Nonetheless, there are answers in the scriptures as well. Isaiah 9:6 described Jesus as MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER. Yet 1 Corinthians 15:27 tells us even though God the Father put everything under Jesus's feet, the Father Himself is exempted.

Interesting claim! undecided

So let me see if I got this right. Your claim, in simple terms, is that it rained right before God picked up clay with which He made man. However, it hadn't rained right before Jesus Christ picked up the same clay of this earth in John 9, and so Jesus Christ had to add His rain substitute) to the clay which He then robbed over the blind man's eye? undecided

Now we just need to verify the following. Is it stated somewhere that it hadn't rained prior to Jesus Christ spitting in the clay in John 9? undecided

Now, in John 9 vs 7, we are told that this man was only able to see after he had washed the clay off of his eyes in the pool of siloam, not before. So, what are we supposed to, following your line of reasoning ofcourse, take from that? The clay needed more water - not enough spittle used by Jesus? The washing away of clay is also a part of the creation process? What? undecided
God help you!

You need to read your Bible with your eyes open so you are not so easily decieved away from the Truth by the doctrines and traditions of men. undecided

In both Genesis 2 and 3, there is no mention of God using water to make man - Dust was all that was mentioned both times. undecided

Also, that the man Jesus Christ healed was born blind does not then mean he had no eyeballs. undecided
Bros, calm down.

It's actually implied in Genesis 2:6-7 which says: "but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground
, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being."

Man was made from the dust of the ground that had been watered. The same way God asked Jeremiah to go to a Potter's house in Jeremiah 18 to show him how a potter makes a vessel.

Christianity EtcRe: Seeing Demons, Angels, Fallen Angels, Spirits.. - Hsp's by sholay2011(m): 6:20am On Aug 28, 2021
Hercules22:
Jesus was made lower than the angels. He could not even command the angels of heaven to do his bidding during his ministry on earth. This is because he was mortal and only had authority on earth through the Spirit of God the Father. The scriptures say “Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?”‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭26:53‬). We can see here that he could only ask the Father to release his angels.

But after his death and resurrection, he was given all authority in heaven and earth.
“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” (Matthew‬ ‭28:18)‬. Now he has authority over the angels of heaven.

We are now in the body of Christ and share in his inheritance. This is why the scriptures say “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?”‭‭(Hebrews‬ ‭1:14‬). Angels are always assigned to earth men but some don’t know how to partner with them.

The angels of God were created to work according to the written word of God. When a person prays in the Spirit, the angels partner with him/her because he prayed according to God’s will for him.

This was the original mandate of man,
“Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”” (Genesis‬ ‭1:26). We have authority on earth and over Satan and his demons.

Man and Angels are directly under the authority of God. They are called sons of God. Earth man is meant to partner with the angels of heaven to fulfil the purpose of God on earth. We can’t command them to do our bidding just like man can’t take authority over the spirit of another man. The scriptures say “I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!” (Revelation‬ ‭22:8-9‬). ‭Note the word “servant”

After our physical death and ascension into kingdom of Heaven, we shall reign with Christ and given a higher authority. We are in the body of Christ and he is the head. This means that we don’t have the same level of authority of the risen Christ to command the Angels of Heaven.
Such a lovely post. Great analysis and I love how everything is backed with the scriptures Love it.

Maestro21:
To all those I offended with my harsh words, please forgive me. My intention was not to be harsh but I let my emotions get the best of me.

I firmly believe in healthy christian debates but I do not subscribe to character assassination and in dealing with individuals. I will rather only discuss doctrines, and the only times individuals are brought up, it should be for honour. You cannot convince me otherwise.

Like I said earlier, "Wonders Without Numbers" is not a programme about miracle money. Healings, deliverances from demonic oppressions, improved spiritual/prayer lives, all sorts of testimonies are the highlights, but people leave all those to focus on "miracle money". That should tell you who is really behind these attacks.

If you are not sure about the veracity of something, it is best to keep mum about it and ask the holy spirit if it troubles you so. If you cannot find adequate scripture references for or against something, just leave it alone. That is wisdom.

Yes, authority and power are not the same. Joe Biden's bodyguard can beat him up one on one because he has more power than him, but with one word, Joe Biden can have that bodyguard on the floor, because Joe has more authority than him. The reason we can cast out devils from people is authority - otherwise, one v one, no man can take on a demon spirit. I should have communicated that truth in love.

There is a debate about the word "elohim" as used in Psalms 8:4-5 in whether it meant God or heavenly beings partly because elohim did not always mean God in every bible verse in the OT. Because the Hebrews author decided to use the greek word which translates to angels, many bible students assume that the context in Psalms 8 meant angels, which is why I steered clear from addressing the scripture from that angle.

It is also correct that Jesus "being made lower than angels" was in relation to him being a man but man has different aspects to him which is why I zeroed in on the mortality dynamic. As a result of being contentious, we let what would have been a healthy conversation go south.

I admit my huge role in it and again, I apologize.

Cheers.
Now I love this. It is well.
Christianity EtcRe: Seeing Demons, Angels, Fallen Angels, Spirits.. - Hsp's by sholay2011(m):
I wanted to keep quiet about the ongoing issue here but let me chip in my 2 cents.

I don't think anyone here said Apostle Suleman is a false prophet. And if they did, well, to each his own; God hasn't told me anything like that personally. Nonetheless, you don't have to be a false prophet for one of your teachings to be false. This is why every believer needs to be a Berean Christian and search the scriptures with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You just don't swallow everything you are fed hook, line and seaweed because someone is anointed, even if they are followed with signs and wonders. The scriptures confirms our experiences, not vice versa.

With the recent explanations on what was meant by "Miracle Money", I don't know what to say. But know this, God will not just make naira notes appear in your pocket. These notes are numbered by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Our God is a Miracle Worker, not a Magician. And I watched the video online and carefully read comments of where people cited where Jesus asked Peter to go pick a coin from the mouth of a fish. The real question one should ask is why didn't Jesus ask Peter to just dip his hand in his pocket because a coin would appear? I can infer that Jesus knows everything and probably someone dropped a coin in that river, hence, in the mouth of the fish, hence again, Jesus asking Peter to go get that coin from the mouth of the fish. If your first instinct when an unknown person deposits a sum of money into your account is to call it "Miracle money" and spend it, instead of reporting to the bank or inquiring where it came from, you need to clearly check yourself because you are becoming a thief.

It is also not scripturally defensible to throw insults at those that question an anointed man of God. No one is God and we are all brothers and sisters in this body. Even Paul stood up to Peter when the latter was being hypocritical about the issue of gentiles. We do not sacrifice truth in the name of unity. Our God never does that. If you want to come to the man's defence, do it with words seasoned in love. Your words will determine your eligibility into heaven, not the anointed servant of God you're trying to defend as it were. Our loyalty should be to God and His word.

We should not be naïve.

Christianity EtcRe: God's Will Vs Heart Desire. Christians Discuss by sholay2011(m): 3:15pm On Aug 09, 2021
Good topic and God bless.

The heart of even Jesus Himself at the garden of Gethsemane was for the cup (of dying on the cross) to pass over Him. But He eventually submitted to the will of the Father.

Many times, God's will does not appeal to our fleshy desires. This is why it's important to be led by the Spirit on crucial decisions, so we can do the will of the Father. Who knows the mind of God except the Spirit of God? But we also should continually dwell and eat God's word daily, because it gradually transforms us and our desires, that many of our heart desires gradually align with His. But while this transformation is going on, we need to be sure of what God is saying on crucial life decisions.

Motivational speakers will tell you "follow your heart".
A true believer will say "follow the leading of God's Spirit".
The overall goal is when our heart has been transformed by the Spirit using the Word that our heart automatically aligns with God's leading.
Christianity EtcRe: A Lesson From The Fig Tree ( The Power Of Words) by sholay2011(m): 4:44pm On Aug 04, 2021
eomajeh:
People (christians especially) relate this story of jesus cursing the fig tree as the prime example of there being power in words.

However, when i look at the story, i see something else. The lesson that jumps out to me is that jesus was either ignorant and stupid, or a power-drunk.
Jesus approached a fig tree and seeing that there were not fruits on it, he proceeded to curse the tree. the verse makes it clear that it was not the season for fruits. If jesus expected to see fruit in a fig tree when it is not the season for figs, then he was ignorant or stupid.
If he did know that it is not the season for figs, but still went ahead to curse the tree, then he is just a power drunk who abused his power.
Hello. You've clearly got it wrong. My Lord Jesus is neither ignorant nor stupid. Actually, He is the wisdom and power of God.

Let me now explain what is the lesson from the fig tree Jesus cursed. The story of the cursed fig tree is first found in Matthew 21:18-19. But Mark 11:12-14 gives a more detailed account. In summary, Jesus Christ cursed a fig tree because while He was hungry, this fig tree had no fruits. The shocking thing is the Mark account stated it was not even the season for figs! It almost appears Jesus was 'unfair' to the fig tree. But Hebrews 4:15 says our Lord Jesus was without sin. So, what really happened here?

A research online stated that fig trees generally go dormant and drop (or shed) their leaves when they are outside their season. But the fig tree in Mark 11 had lots of leaves, outside its season, giving a false impression (in short, deception) that there might be fruits on it, whereas there was none. Hence, the judgment from Jesus. Jesus wants us to come the way we truly are, not present a deceptive picture of ourselves. And whenever we present a deceptive picture, He will always find out, and pronounce judgment.

We should remember this same Jesus was the Keeper of the vineyard in the Luke 13:6-9 parable, pleading with the Owner (God the Father) to not cut down a fig tree that had been barren, never produced fruit in 3 years, both in season and out of season. The fig tree's state sounds worse than the one in mark 11, but it was open to its keeper. The Keeper pleaded with the Owner for 1 more year while He fertilizes it, the same way Jesus is seated at the right hand of the father interceding for us as our Advocate (1 John 2:1).

Jesus Christ does not like Christians with lots of leaves with no fruits. They give a false sense of spirituality. They are hypocritical and pretentious. No matter how broken we are, He wants us to come just the way we are to Him, with a repentant heart. He would rather have you cold like the totally barren fig tree or have you hot like a fruitful fig tree in its season. But not the one that uses leaves to give a false impression that it is different from others.

One major lesson here is HYPOCRISY.
Christianity EtcRe: God Never Rest, It's Biblical Error by sholay2011(m): 4:20pm On Jul 27, 2021
Bishopkingsley:
First, we should quote the verse correctly. It doesn’t say God “needed” to rest; it simply says that He did rest. Also, it is clear from Scripture that God did not rest because He was tired.
Genesis 17:1 calls God the “Almighty God.” Psalm 147:5 says, “Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.” God is all-powerful; He never tires and never needs to rest. As Isaiah 40:28 says, “The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary.” God is the sum of perfection; He is never diminished in any way, and that includes being diminished in power.

Answer

The Hebrew word translated “rested” in Genesis 2:2 includes other ideas than that of being tired.
In fact, one of the main definitions of the Hebrew word shabat is “to cease or stop.”
In Genesis 2:2 the understanding is that God “stopped” His work;
He “ceased” creating on the seventh day. All that He had created was good, and His work was finished.
Well said.

Hebrews 4:9-10 explains more on the meaning of God "rested" on the 7th day...and the meaning was that He ceased from his work (of creation) on that day. Nothing more. The Sabbath day was created for the Israelites in the Old testament to honour this day, by they ceasing from physical work, not necessarily resting because they are tired. Hebrews 4 now encourages us as God's children to enter that same rest, where we cease from works and rely more on His grace.

Isaiah 40:28 puts it to rest (no pun intended), that our God neither faints, nor is he ever weary.
