What more can be done to hear directly from God? ( I mean crystal clear hearing and not some thoughts from the subconscious).
I have fasted for 3days (directives from a prophet), yet I didn't hear.

Study (I didn't say read) your bible like never before with the help of the Holy Spirit. Fasting helps to break down the defenses of our flesh so our spirit man can be more receptive to what God is saying. But God won't suddenly start speaking "more" because you are fasting. And it has happened to me that it was after the fast that God visited me in a big way. But ensure your motive is right, pray consistently and study the scriptures alongside your fast. Fasting without these is called hunger strike.

And it is at the prerogative of the Holy Spirit to decide if He would speak with you through an audible voice or not. Hope you know it doesn't make you "more spiritual"? God speaks to us in different ways and I don't want you to start hearing familiar spirits (remember 2 Corinthians 11:14) in your desperation to hear an audible voice. Why not rephrase the prayer to "God should sharpen your spiritual sensitivity"? How He would do that...leave it to Him.

Let me go straight to point. Some time last year, I needed a solution to my problem so I prayed for the Holy Spirit to give me wisdom/idea/revelation on how to tackle this problem. Now an idea came to my head which I analysed and it appeared to be a perfect solution to this problem. But when I finally executed this idea (solution), It aggravated my problem. In fact I'm having regrets now. My condition afterwards, now appears to be worse.
Now my confusion: was it the HolySpirit that gave me this "idea" or was it just my subconscious?
When I spoke to my pastor about this, he gave me the analogy of Israelites and the Red sea: God was leading them to a perfect place but there are bound to be obstacles on the way. But I'm finding it hard to believe him. To me, I feel God was only trying to show the Israelites how powerful he was; hence the red sea and other sufferings along the way. BUT my situation is different because I already know that God is all Powerful.

PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME MEN OF GOD. My faith is being affected. As a matter of fact, i'm now so scared to pray and ask HolySpirit for guidance. I don't pay attention to my pastors sermons anymore! I'M IN WITHDRAWAL MODE!

Bros, don't be discouraged. I don't know your full situation as to whether you prayed sincerely and wanted to be led by the Spirit of God and how far your Christian walk has been to this point. We can't just sharply recognise the voice of someone we are not "familiar" with in the first place. So, only you know your walk with God till this point. If God can't tell you to drop so and so amount as offering for example or to call this or that person for reconciliation (simple instructions), but you want to directly hear from Him regarding marriage/business decisions, then, you may be swinging for the fences.

Nonetheless, we learn obedience to Him by the things we suffer - Heb. 5:8. Please, go back to God and His word to ask Him what happened with an open heart. It may not have been God, and it could still have been Him! We don't just judge purely based on immediate results. Maybe things might get better? Or maybe He gave you the go-ahead but you were not interested to hear further on how He wanted you to go about it? God didn't just ask Moses to build a tabernacle for Him in Exodus 25, He gave Him specifications as to how he should do it. Same applied for Noah and the building of the ark.

But more importantly, if you're a genuine child of God, even if it wasn't God (a case in which you misheard), God has noted it that if it was His Spirit that was leading you, that's how you would have obeyed. And that alone, makes the Father happy. The absolute evidence of love for Him is obedience. Go back to Him. Ask genuinely in the place of prayer and be spiritually sensitive. Eat the Word. Don't be discouraged at all. It is well.

Thank you brother and thanks for this thread. I also watched YouTube videos of people talking about their fasting experience at nights when I was struggling to find sleep and that also encouraged me. I just got back from the grocery store and stocked my fridge.

Amen brother. I sometimes take a tea drink alongside water since the 8th day (make I no come faint ) to strengthen myself after some spiritual duties but God has really been my strength and song. And He has used this thread as well. God bless.

i have been suffering from irritable bowel syndrome(ibs) since 2018. it is medically incurable(google search 2 confirm). it is characterised by stooling at least 3ce a day and having continous stomach pain. i've used drug like any other thing yet no change. my last 3 years were miserable and fill with agony from d disease.
i av tried my best in prayer yet no change.

i cant do any job due to this sickness, so i jst av to stay wit my parent. am just hopeless of d future. all is just a gloom and doom.

Why not call on Jesus? Seek Him in His Word. He is the ultimate healer. Trust me, it may sound almost cliché but He remains the answer. Why not take advantage of this opportunity to get closer to Him? Ask Him why this bowel issue has persisted. Get to know Him for yourself. There are things God is only interested in telling you. Even in the scriptures, none of the prophets (as anointed as they were) were given the information that the Messiah's name would be JESUS. Isaiah called him Emmanuel, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace; Jeremiah called him Branch of Righteousness; but only the mother (a virgin girl in Nazareth called Mary) was given that name first in Luke 1:31, then, his earthly Father Joseph (Matthew 1:21). Joseph and Mary were neither prophets nor apostles. Get closer to this God. He is much more interested in you than even just healing this bowel issue. God bless you.
