The desperation to "make it big" that oozes from your posts is disgusting.

I don't think you need any advice....change your line of thinking first.

Never expected so many people to find this thread. And as I said before, I have given a lot of personal details. So sorry guys, no more updates.
You saying my story is a lie does not make it a lie so those in this category can shove their opinion up their assssses cos I am not here to please you.

Using Reverse-psychology won't help either. You try to discredit me while actually your aim is for me to give more details about myself then you would be able to determine were and how to rubbish me. I get all these tactics. You have no idea who you are dealing with.

Will continue today anyway. Those who are here to preach and insult and what not should please save themselves all the stress. You all seem to be having a hard life.
It is well with you Bro.

So, how far with those posts of yours that were pasted on the thread? And are you an atheist now, or you are of Satan?

May God's grace bring you back to Him (that's if you're truly his in the first place).

Hello, just want to ask a question, knowing you're in U of M. I was given an admission for MSc in Community Health Sciences department. My supervisor have a grant that he's willing to pay me, cos I will be working as his research assistant. I requested a written letter from him stating the amount he will be paying, he sent me a letter duely signed him with d details of d proportion of the grant allocated. Can that be used as a scholarship letter to add to my financial support, cos I intend using it since I didn't apply for UMGF? Thanks. What department are you?
Absolutely. You should attach it to your visa application. It shows some source of financial support, from a reliable person like your supervisor.

I am in Agribusiness & Agricultural Economics department.

thanks. Please is the tuition fee calculated by the credit hours you undertake? If I take on 9 credit hours, my tuition is like $1500
You and credit hours fah undecided

Your tuition will also include other fees naa..like Student union stuff and other activities the school management has decided to include in your fees. For example in UofM, gym fees are included in the total amount you pay for tuition. Like i pointed out, send an email to the necessary authority in your school for the breakdown of your tuition or anything you aren't clear about. Tuition is not just calculated using credit hours, most times .

i was granted the entrance scholarship too as well.. so how does that help when it comes to visa processing... what amount do u state as tuition and must u provide proof to the VO abt the scholarship in ur tuition declaration.
Congrats.

To be honest with you, the entrance scholarship doesn't mean much in terms of boosting your financial standing for visa application. If you got the UMGF, then, you have less to worry about, about being denied visa based on financial reasons. Even then, you still have to get a sponsor with a 'smiling' account balance or good cash inflow to remove all doubts from the VO's mind.

You don't need any special proof of the IGSES other than your admission letter. And you state the actual amount of your tuition, without the IGSES. If it was the UMGF, then, you will need to submit a coloured (not necessarily original) copy of the scholarship letter and the form you filled stating you are accepting the scholarship.

Bro, can someone get the IGSES with online copy of transcript submitted during application or official hard copy is compulsory for it?
This, I can't answer for sure. But didn't you send a hard copy during your application for admission? Or was it not requested after you got admission?

Regardless, I think one can get it with an online copy submitted during application. All that's needed is the CGPA, especially for the last two semesters. If the hard copy is needed, for any purpose of verification or so, you will surely be contacted.

Hi, just wanna ask, i just gained admission to u of m with the igses funding, will i need to pay this reduced tuition before resumption or registration in September or can the fees be paid wen i resume and are fees paid per term or all at once tanks
Congratulations.

You can pay the fees when you resume, after the IGSES funding has been applied to your tuition and you know exactly how much you will have to pay. Just ensure you pay before the deadline. Deadline is usually mid September I think.

Advisably, when you get to Canada, go straight to your department so they can register not only Fall courses (I assume you are coming in Fall) but also one winter course (at least) so the IGSES funding may be applied. Then, you go to the University Centre, 5th floor, with your admission letter stating that you've been granted the IGSES funding. After the funding has been applied, you then decide when to pay the rest of your tuition.

And you pay it per term. What department if I may ask?

Guys please I'm sorry for the question I'm about to ask, I know it has already been addressed, but I can't find the exact page. Please, as an undergraduate,I applied to brandon university manitoba, how many credit hours should I undertake in order to be taken as a full time student? Secondly my tuition fee is $6800, is the tuition fee for the 1st and 2nd term or for the first term alone? Thirdly, is it compulsory I stay in the school board in my 1st year?. Thanks in advance
Hello. While I am at UofM (not Brandon Uni), I will try my best in answering your questions.

To be a full time student, you are expected to take at least 3 courses (each is 3 credit hours) which makes them 9 credit hours, except, you are doing research work. Not sure if that's how it works in your school.

Your tuition fee of $6800 is probably for the first semester. It's about $5400 at UofM for each semester for international GRADUATE students. Many international students with good CGPA eventually get an entrance scholarship that reduces the fees by half, making them pay half of $5400 for each semester, and eventually paying about $5400 for a year. In your case, mail your school's undergraduate studies office or a lecturer in your intended department to clarify from the horse's mouth.

By your last question, do you mean is it compulsory you live on campus in your first year? The answer is no. Most of these your questions should be directed to the international students office or an enquiry office or so in your school. Visit your school website and get that email and shoot them a message. It's just safer than to rely on NL in my opinion. Even if I attended Brandon Uni, rules might have changed.

Cheers.

Hello guys, there is an issue bothering my mind concerning my application. I am currently employed an I intend to disclose it in my application but I doubt if my employer will give me a letter of reference and I don't even intend to inform my employer of my plans till I get my visa by God's grace. I need advice on what to do. My contract of employment does not make provisions for study leave so I don't know if I can just attach my letter of employment and pay slips without a letter from my employer. I need expert advice biko.
In my app, I attached my employment letter which clearly stated how much I would be paid per annum. I didn't even attach pay slips. Please do if you have access to such. Best wishes.

Pls is it possible for a trv applicant to use a sponsor who isn't a family memberhuh

How can such applicant go about it ??

Has anyone in the house ever used a sponsor who isn't a family member like say his/her father's friend.
While using a family member would have been better, especially one's parents, I believe you can also use non-family members. But you have to state clearly your relationship with this person and how much the person is ready to put down in sponsoring you, not just a bogus account balance.

The VO would assume the person also has children and other people dependent on him or her. So, why did this person choose to sponsor you and how much of what is in the account will be devoted to your academic endeavour?

Cheers.

TravelRe: HOW Does It Feel To Board A Plane For The First Time. Share Your Experience. by sholay2011(m): 7:29pm On Apr 23, 2016
My first time was last year September. I was so eager to board a plane for the first time. grin Due to some visa stamping issues that the airport officials couldn't understand, I was delayed for a while and then it was sorted out eventually. My economy class ticket was upgraded to business class. wink

I enjoyed the flight to Frankfurt. I tried to learn as fast as possible from the man seated beside me so he wouldn't know it was my first time. Haha...he eventually knew...lol. I easily fastened my seat belts oh...but I was pressed and wanted to unfasten it...na there problem come start. I eventually figured it out.

I had read a lot about people's 'first time" and so, the landing thing didn't worry me that much. Though, my mind kept flashing back to all the plane crash news I had read or heard prior then. sad

And then, I started to get bored of the flying thingy when I had to wait at Frankfurt for my next flight! angry I had 2 connecting flights. Oh boy...I was so tired by the time I reached my final destination.

I am eager to come home as soon as possible but I don't want to experience the plane thingy again. In fact, if I could just disappear and appear in Nigeria, I would be glad.

Sorry I had to come in.
U can check a moniker named "holyjacket" I guess. Same case as yours.
You already have full funding that takes care of every form of expenses. You don't want to complicate your application.
All you need do is make sure you submit relevant documents that indicate you have not been idle and then a statement of account (at least #100k) which shows u have been earning smthg.
Holyjacket(PhD applicant) applied with just a statement of 300k with the funding he got from U of A and he got his visa and some other PhD applicants.
And to think of the fact that u r going for a PhD program. Neva seen where a credible PhD applicant was ever denied(@ least not on dis thread) as they know u have got some potentials to have landed the funding and of course, those are the kind of people they want in their country.
Please don't complicate ur app for any reason.
#My 2cent.
Well said.

Did you really say this?

My goodness!

In reality what you are seeing is the effect of 16 years of PDP misrule and devastation. We had years of plenty and we didn't prepare. How do you expect us to fare in the years of famine?

Nigerians want short term solutions and that is what got us in this sad situation. That is why our politicians are able to hoodwink us and rob us of our heritage. They dine fat on our wealth and throw crumbs at us because we don't demand for better. We live for today, not for tomorrow.

We need change, but it must start from the mind first. That's the most important change.
Thank God there are still people with brains on NL. Well-said.

Lol to be honest with you an A grade here no be beans o. Because the grade get splited between so many assignments, midterms, class participation and then final exams. As a matter of fact depending on the professor, final exam may be weigh just 15 out of 100 percent. The implication is you have to be on your toes all through the semester. A grade isnt impossible though. A starts from 80-100, B starts from 65-75. For graduate programs the least you can have is a 65 percent fall below that and you are kicked out. It is not really easy but with hardwork and perseverance anything is possible. If you are comming for anything computer science related, that is another story entirely grin grin
So true.

Took a course at a business school (the exam is tomorrow):
-Class participation (note, not attendance): 20%
-Site visitation- You and your group members visit a company and make a presentation on their operations and supply chain management practices.: 15%
-Reflective analysis (You reflect in not more than 500 words what you have learnt so far in the course by giving examples related to your past or current real-life experiences): 15%
-Littlefield online game (group work)- this is even difficult to explain...lol: 10%
-Case Study Assignment: 10%

And final exam is now 30% grin grin IT IS WELL.

I don't expect everybody to be in my situation and I don't intend to discourage those that intend to work. The purpose of my post was to make people realise it's not as easy as it's made out to be, to work and then study for excellent grades. Of course, it's very possible.
