pls which Uni in Canada can I do MSC Agricultural
Economics with funding available .

I av a Degree with GPA of
4.5
is my result strong enof for funding?
thanks
Hello. You should try University of Manitoba. While your CGPA is good, I can't ultimately assure you funding but your chances are not bad at all. Also, the school fees aren't as high as that of some Canadian Universities.

You should at least get some funding that reduces your fees into half with this CGPA (IGSES).
Jobs/VacanciesRe: My Interview Experience With A Banking Firm by sholay2011(m): 11:09am On Jan 12, 2016
Only a silly or rigid person will not give thumbs up to the OP. Just by reading it, it truly sounded like an interview and not an interrogation. A sensitive HR personnel should know when you are giving prepared answers and when it's instinctual (which is more of the person you are).

Lessons learnt:
- One should always accept responsibility for his or her actions. That might have been an instinctual answer from the OP, but he was able to back it up with thoughtful explanation.

-A thin smile can go a long way. It calms the tense interview atmosphere.

-Confidence (not over confidence) is equally important.

God's favour cannot be counted out but it seems that's the only thing my fellow Nigerians will point out...as if others that weren't called back aren't God's children.

Happy new year people. I haven't been on here in a while. Life in Canada has been so fast. I just want to encourage everyone that with hard work and God you will succeed. I did an 8 months programme at Seneca college and a 4 month coop (Jan - dec 2015). My first job which started in Dec is as an IT Project Manager earning over $80k per annum. Stay focused and you can do it too, do not try to cut corners or beat the system. Canada is a land of opportunities and with God's grace and handwork the sky is your limit.

I just thought to encourage all those aspiring to come, the new comers and those who have finished studying. Get on the express entry pool as soon as possible because things are about to change pretty quickly.

God bless you all and have a beautiful year in Canada
shocked shocked Oh boy....eh eh. This is God's blessing o. $80k per annum??

BTW, I just resumed Masters study last year Sept...what do you mean things are about to change quickly with respect to PR? Thanks.

Why? You don't like his style?
I admire his style but I believe it's because Nigerian screenwriters aren't 'that good generally' for now; so, he is one of the few exceptions. I personally don't think he is 'that good'. Or let me say he hasn't wowed me yet. My point is entirely subjective. At least, he has written for the Kunle Afolayan and the likes. wink

Kemi Adesoye has impressed me more than him.

Now that's our own Charlie Kauffman.
Congrats to him. Not a big fan of him though.

Nairaland GeneralRe: 2015 Future Awards Rousing Speech By Chude Jideonwo by sholay2011(op): 1:12am On Jan 02, 2016
speedyboi:
What everyone says is not that the world (I'm thinking you mean WEST) hates us, but the west needs to portray a balanced view...Yea, there are diseases and poverty in Africa; but whilst you are at it portraying all these things, don't forget the cities and the comfortable citizens; don't forget the middle class, the stinking rich, don't forget even a "superficial" world like Abuja....They are all part of the "African Narrative"....."African Narrative" shouldn't be slum slum slum.....when that is not all there is to the continent. Tell a whole narrative, or don't tell anything at all. That is my own. I get your point, anyway...and I entirely agree with not settling for mediocrity!
Hmmm....once again, you are very right but this is not what the speech was implying.

Lol@ your previous post.
Nairaland GeneralRe: 2015 Future Awards Rousing Speech By Chude Jideonwo by sholay2011(op): 12:13am On Jan 02, 2016
speedyboi:
lol, air your own point of view! lol
My view is that I fully support the speech. The speech doesn't imply that we shouldn't appreciate what we've 'achieved' so far, rather we should not settle for mediocrity as excellence or just shout that the world hates us when we've not done enough to prove them wrong.

Once again, I do not expect everyone commenting on this thread to say 'nice one' or 'inspired speech'. It's nice to have a different point of view like yours, which is correct on its own but doesn't do it for me with respect to this speech.

BTW, see who is on my profile. grin
Nairaland GeneralRe: 2015 Future Awards Rousing Speech By Chude Jideonwo by sholay2011(op): 11:20pm On Jan 01, 2016
speedyboi:
very very nice speech!!!

However, I think the positive stories about Africa is important....Yes things are still not great, but it's a lot better than it used to be. It's amazing how it's quite easy for humans to forget how bad things once was. Chude as a case study; his grandparents probably lived poor somewhere in one rural farm, but he is now living in a comfortable apartment building in Lagos....That's the narrative of most present day urban Nigerians....so yea....A LOT of families have actually been lifted out of poverty. But the level of poverty in China and Nigeria 50 years ago is not the same; so their individual progress can't be compared now. Yes, our roads are still bad, but 50 years ago, 90% of them were not even tarred at all. I agree with most of the other parts where he isn't trying to imply that the continent is not making progress.

Thanks for sharing Sholay smiley
Hmmm...I like your contrarian thinking even if I don't agree with your point of view.

Thanks for reading speedyboi. smiley
