Study your pharmacy if it is what you want None is actually easier than the other |
If you are a reasoning man choose Pharmacy, you will never regret it. Its the most streetwise medical course, you can venture into community practice, hospital practice, industrial practice, medical rep, academia, NGO, importation, research, regulatory or any business you love doing. *Modified* This course requires the best of minds and brains. You have to be well grounded in CHEMISTRY, Biology, Physics and Mathematics. Seriously speaking, its cuts deeply accross these. There are theories to cram and understand, Calculations to learn, structures and pathways to learn, Laws to cram. Loads of Practicals. In the end, only the best will be inducted into the profession. To be authorized and licensed to import ,export, mix, compound, procure, distribute, sell, counsel dispense drugs and poisons. When i read the above on a license during my I. T, i said it is a taboo to have that power and still be broke. No wonder men come looking for 400/500L pharmacy student to marry, in order to do drug business. |

It's that time of the year again and many secondary school leavers are applying for JAMB. Majority of the science students are bound to apply for Medicine and Surgery due to peer influence or parents advice and only about 10% or less end up been admitted, the rest are pushed into departments in faculty of agriculture, biosciences etc. Hence they are ignorant of other goldmine which exist also in the healthcare sector. So in this article, i want to quickly brush other areas of health sector you might like instead of joining the bandwagon of other students filling up for Medicine/Surgery which they might end up not getting. PS:- If you feel strongly inclined to study Medicine/Dentistry, you can go ahead with your pursuit, I wish you luck. Others can take a ride with me, smiles. *Radiography* 5 year professional course plus one year internship deals with imaging techniques using X-rays, gamma rays, or similar radiation to view the internal form of an object.
