Family / Re: Help-is It OK To Leave Wife And Cousin Alone In One House? by showafrica(m): 10:24am On Apr 15, 2022
cj1900:
Hi guys,
I won't take much of your time. I have a very delicate matter in my hands and I need diverse opinions please.

Background
I don't live in Nigeria but me and my wife both have a very comfortable 4 bedroom duplex in Nigeria. We have a one year old baby. I have been in Nigeria for 5 months now and I will be returning to UK in a few weeks.

Ever since I've been in Nigeria, my cousin (mid 30s) has been with us. Quite frankly, it is not very easy for him at the moment and i do care about him as a brother. He is in the process of processing his visa, so its not as if he is loafing about.

The plan is that both me and my wife will be taking turns in visiting each other for the next 2 or so years until I return fully to Nigeria.

The problem
The problem is that I do not feel comfortable leaving just him and my wife under thesame roof whilst I return and he is not showing any signs of leaving when I return to my base.

So, this is my situation and I don't know if I am being insensitive.

I married a very good wife and under most circumstances, I trust her. I am just not comfortable leaving my wife with any man atall under thesame roof.

I need your opinions pls.

Your instinct is right, tell your cousin that you will be traveling to Lagos or Abuja with your wife before leaving, so he has to go. Find him money to rent apartment somewhere. Your wife should be the one reminding you about leaving the cousin behind in the house unless you guys are like intimate brothers now. However, women are insensitive to this kind of trap

Politics / Re: A Call To South Easterners To Get Their PVC And Vote! by showafrica(m): 12:20pm On Apr 12, 2022
Foolishbuhari:

My brother, What if I told you Peter Obi is actually building bridges as we speak and his consultations are going smoothly and nicely?

What if I told you voter apathy in his region, is what is actually dimming his chances at clinching the position? Will you believe if I told you Peter Obi's reach has gone into the interior parts of the north? People working for him for free?

Charity they say, begins at home. If he doesn't have the block support of his people, what impression would he be making on the people willing to bank their electoral fate and capital on him? If his people are not showing seriousness and eagerness to push him by going to get their PVCs and actually coming out to vote, what are his chances?

My brother, igbo people voted for Buhari massively in 2015, so what happened to the messiah? Same thing in 2011 for GeJ. The presidents usually have good intentions but by building the bridges through the cabal, they fail. Peter may face the same fate. When Buhari threatened Nigeria in 2011, he knew the election was given to GeJ by the cabal. He knew the voting power and population in the north was bigger than the whole south and there was no way GeJ won that election. Is it how we are going to continue. Imagine Peter Obi as the president of Nigeria and 1m terrorist army to face. They will just chase him out of Abuja. The ground and environment is not suitable for progressive democracy right now. We need a Devine change. I still insist PVC is not the solution.

My brother, I share your sentiments 100%. That being said, would a man cut off his nose to spite his face? As beautiful as Spain, Catalonia wants out. You see there's no perfect beauty abi?

We have clamoured for the electoral act to be amended, and it has been done. Rigging elections would be more difficult now. Won't the Igbo race be losing out if they act the ostrich as it stands?

Truth be told. When Ojukwu contested for president, did he have a national spread? No he didn't! Sentiments don't win battles Bro.

Lastly I'm not against civil disobedience or the sit at home. I support it wholly! But don't you think it should be as a result of the people's conviction and not a result of the threat of death to them if they come out, as is being done by IPOB now?

They say the voice of the people is the voice of God! So let the people speak.

Yea they always use one new thing to deceive the masses to continue the status quo. I remember that electronic thing that was introduced in 2015, does it have any effect till today? Electoral amendment was done by the same people. Well, Ojukwu doesn't have any national spread and no igbo man has. Leaking people asses is not national spread. I tell you, no igbo man wants orji Kalu, or save umahi or even amechi. Peter Obi is close to been someone an Igbo man wants but he doesn't have that national spread as well. An Hausa man will not vote Peter Obi either when ass lickers are also contesting. Well, May God help this nation any how.

If we can zone leadership into 4, NE, NW, SW and SE, to rule every 4yrs. It will change a whole lot. I don't know what's wrong with a black man.

Foolishbuhari:

How do you separate peacefully from a system as this? Don't you see this thing Bro? Wait you think I believe in "one Nigeria"?

I believe in separate federated entities or different nations but those are mere wishful thinking as it stands.

You complain of being marginalized but it's you people who are kicking down your chance to produce Nigeria's first Igbo president now.

Do I need to tell you how your own people and governors worked against the PDP ticket at the last election because Peter Obi was chosen by Atiku? Today your governors are busy working with Wike and are not even caring about the Igbo interest.

The Igbo man is his worse enemy! I'm sorry to say that Bro but it's what it is and it's high time the Igbo race got up to take their chances. Not running tail between legs from a challenge!

You just said it all. The political class working against the common man interest. Example is the IPOB as a group. 80% of igbos support ipob but all the elites and politicians don't and I guess you know why. The foundation is created for the few, you either join them or suffer in penury. If MNK decides to contest for election today, he may win with the masses vote and dump them after elected, the cycle continues. If he doesn't dump them, he will be denied all all benefits of the national cake and his people will think he is good for nothing. Bro, no matter how rich you are or how good and religious you are, if you enter a bad marriage, you will never remain the same. My point is, since peaceful protest didn't work, violent protest didn't work, igbos are trying civil disobedience. Possibly, it may not work too but at least let the protest and perseverance. It won't be easy to escape from the claws of a lion but you have to escape anyway.

The voting you are recommending, I hope you saw what happened when Ojukwu contested with OBJ and Buhari. The whole igbos voted him, the whole Hausa voted Buhari, but Morris iwu gave it to OBJ as incumbent. My point is election is not free and fair and if you manage to be chosen by the cabal you must dance to the tone and the country remains the same or even worse. Don't worry, when GEJ gets older, he may have some secrets to share on why he couldn't achieve his goal as a president.

If we don't do anything about this bad governance, the next generation will not forgive us. I still insist we try something else apart from the regular elections, whatever it is but election or war.
Politics / Re: A Call To South Easterners To Get Their PVC And Vote! by showafrica(m): 9:13am On Apr 12, 2022
Foolishbuhari:
Good morning my people. I currently live in the south east and I must say that people's interest in the electoral process, or even getting their PVC is very low!

Just last night, I engaged my barber- a young man and his friends. A salon filled with youths and they didn’t even care. Talmbout "votes don't count". "Northerners will determine president" and some other BS.

Understandably, IPOB ideology and propaganda is strong but ask yourself who stands to lose more? The south east of course.

- The region's elders are currently going about the country canvassing for Igbo presidency.

- There are a couple of good names from the SE who have already indicated interest and are fully in the race as presidential hopefuls, not VP.

- The major choke hold on them is "your people don't come out to vote, we don't want to miss our chance". This is especially so, for the major opposition party.

Will you blame the people saying this, no! Figures are there to speak, but we won't go into those, so this doesn't become an epistle. Let's do justice to the two major topics raised.

1. Do votes count? The answer is yes! If votes didn't count, why do politicians spend so much trying to buy votes? A bulk of electoral expenses goes into vote buying, with a vote going for 5-10k in some places. Also with the new electoral act, rigging an election is no longer as easy or feasible as it used to.

2. Northerners determine the president: That's another fat lie! The north may have some controversial figures but history has busted this fallacy over and over again. Only the north has NEVER produced a president in this country. Buhari had his so-called "11 million" votes from the north, yet failed at every electoral outing, until some persons from the south and NC joined him, to plunge Nigeria into what it is right now.

Like I told some persons who cared to listen during build up to Anambra polls, the elections must happen and someone must win. Who wins is as a result of your actions or inactions.

Who wins determines your lot for the next 4 to 8 years and would also determine, if you'd get shot in the streets like dogs, if you as much as protest any wrongs meted on you.

Myself and some associates are planning a movement to sensitize youths on the need to get involved. Please, people from the SE should do the same. Before you dash anyone money, let them show you their PVC!

You in the diaspora, before you send them money at home, let them show you their PVC! Let this thing be driven through the corners of Alaigbo. Voter apathy pays no one but corrupt politicians!

Bro whatever you preach now won't change anything. The system is rigged and the foundation is faulty. Eligible voters in igbo is less than 30m. Others are about 100m. Begging other trybes to vote for you out of sentiment when they already have there own candidates does not hold water. We all know the dent the civil war did and consequently the west and the north united and fought against the igbos. The war is still there today. The west prefer a northerner to an Igbo. Therefore the best option is to separate peacefully. We are not one, know this and know peace. It is better to let the whole world know you are not interested in contraption than to suffer and smile. Another personal problem I have with Nigeria is the reverse gear the leaders switched to. How can a country with quality people be so backward and archaic in 21st century. Common electricity is rocket science here and you want to continue doing the same thing. I will say it again, anything other than formating the country is not for me... Fuckkk pvc

Why don't the government do same for south east that still have a demand now?

You can release kanu and have him sign agreement with ICC etc that he can be apprehended wherever he is if he renegenes, from their the nation can start citing projects in south east and carrying them along at least to the extent that the other region enjoy

Toks2008:
Let me paraphrase this so that it can make more sense. Would you rather be with someone who wishes to be with another person? Because this is the case if you find yourself married to the one you love who does not love you and YES people marry without really wanting to be with the person they are married to.

This may sound so twisted but it is not at all. It is the dream of many people to be with someone they love who also loves them in return but we all know that this is seldom the case as we usually have the feelings tilted in one direction and as they say, the person who loves less in a relationship holds the power over the other.

I have met ladies who i love and i have met those who love me and i can tell you for a fact that these two categories are not in anyway alike.

When you love someone and they don't feel same way, you usually see yourself having to do more of the work to make it work and in most cases, you are taken for granted because the other person cares less if you stay or leave..

But when you are with someone you don't really desire but the person desires you, you will feel very uncomfortable at the beginning but there will be this serenity in your life with so much inner assurance that you are truly cherished and you will feel so alive and loved so much that you will inevitably start developing strong affection for the other person. (The beauty and the Beast is not just a fiction very realistic)

As a man, if you marry a lady who truly loves you, she will submit to you, cherish you, treat you like a king and will never see any reason to be with another man. And in like manner, if a woman marries a man who truly desires her,. he will treat her like a queen and cherish her all the days of his life.

YES i understand how twisted this sounds cos whether you choose the one you love that does not love you or you choose the one who loves you but you do not feel same way, the bottom line is that there is still an imbalance in the affection.

But be it as it may, you can never know how special you are until you meet someone who genuinely desires you and sometimes it is best to leave the one you love to be with the one who loves you because with time, you will realize you made the right decision.

So let us have your opinion.

If you are a man, marry woman wey love you. If you are a woman, marry who you love... Simple. Unless yahoo is involved
