[quote author=FKO81 post=44361823]Anioma people Anioma people are the indigenous Igbo people of Delta State. They make up about one-third of Delta State, and for administrative purposes they are referred to as Delta North thus contrasting Delta Central and Delta South densely inhabited by the Urhobo, Ukwuani, Isoko, Ijaw, and Itsekiri, the other ethnic groups inhabiting Delta State. The Anioma region has a total population of 1,114,055.[1] The population figure quoted here does not include those of Anioma communities located outside Delta state. Anioma as you have it today are not all Some Anioma population can be found in neighboring Edo State specifically in Igbanke (Igbo Akiri), Oza and Ekpon. The term Anioma means 'Good Land' in Igbo and is also an acronym derived from the four original local governments i.e. (A) for Aniocha, (N) for Ndokwa, (I) for Ika, (O) for Oshimili, M and A are common denominators found in the four original local governments. The coinage was made by the founding father, Chief Dennis Osadebay in 1951 and has since remained the preferred indigenous name by which the people collectively refer to themselves. Thus, A-N-I-O-M-A. Sentimentally, there are also Anioma people in Anambra State i.e. Onitsha, Ogbaru, Akwukwu Obosi, Ozobulu, Ogidi. Some are in Imo State i.e. Oguta, Rivers State i.e. Ndoni. Anioma people who had one destiny prior to the coming of the Europeans were balkanized after they lost the Ekumeku War of resistance against the British imperialism in 1914 after 31 years of fighting. The Ekemeku War was the longest resistance against British imperialism in Nigeria. Notable Anioma people Edit Chief. I av friends that are from 'Delta North' like u described them they all av Igbo names yet when I call them Igbo, they almost want to slap me, also I have friends from Onitsha, abia, owerri, nsukka who I guess are the 'original Igbos' they don't see these pple from Delta north as Igbos too!! I'm not one of those childish pple who start tribal arguments on NL, I'm not an enemy of Igbos I have no reason to hate Igbos, my best friends and closest colleagues at work are Igbos, I'm just telling u what I've experienced, I'm not a small boy I av seen it quite too often. |

TonyeBarcanista:Mr Oga!! Haba Mana! Failed after just 10months in power? Chill till like March/April 2018 before u judge them na!! If you were the President, could u clear the Mess PDP did to Nigeria in 8years sef, talkless of 10months. One thing has Certainly changed tho!! WE HAVE A LEADER THAT IS WELL RESPECTED BY THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY!! unlike GEJ who was so clueless that he didn't even know how much money was being stolen under his nose!! PDP is not going to rule Nigeria again.....just forget it!! U prolly hate APC because from ur Name u're from the SS!! But ask urself, what good has PDP done to you? |

Armaggedon:Yorubas?! Take religion to the extreme?! U definitely don't know what U're talking about!! It is only in Yoruba land there is TRUE religious freedom, Christians, Muslims &Traditional worshippers practice their religions freely without clashing. Unlike Hausa Muslims who kill their Christian Brothers because of Cartoons done in Denmark or Igbo Catholics who fight with Igbo Anglicans. Get ur facts right b4 u make silly statements |
sotall:I hope u are uneducated or semi-educated because if u have graduated from an higher institution and U're still thinking the way u are, u've wasted time and money going to school!! |
nikkiehan:Yes we do!! But they're not appreciated by naija babes , they take them for granted, naija babes like men who beat n maltreat them. |
ChappyChase:That's a very ignorant question!! They are the Best candidates for Human Resource (HR) positions in any organization, and every serious company has an HR dept!! Do the maths.... |
APCcrimesHD:Yorubas are many on both sides!! U're zombie oga!! |
APCcrimesHD:1. APC is the ruling party, PDP is the Opposition 2. Two Yoruba states are Ruled by PDP, There are many yorubas on both sides, Yorubas are clever people, they don't put all their eggs in on basket like some other tribes did. 3. You're a Zombie, a Big one. |
NigerianSHA:And if u know how many dîcks she sucked nko? How would that move ur life forward? Instead of u to use her. Story as a prayer to God to answer ur prayers U're there catching stupid cruise!! Bloody Nuisance!! |
peacengine:If U're talking of Integrity in Nigeria!! The Northerners have it the most, just that at the same time the ones who wanna be bad are always very bad!! |
ahaika23:Fayemi didn't deny it my man?! Are u d one that killed pple in Lagos during elections? In lagos they were begging pple to come out and vote, Who is ready to die in lag when his mates are making money?! Tinubu rigged election and d margin of victory was that narrow? I really don't know what source u get ur information from bro. |
ahaika23:Mr Oga! Taking election results in good faith is not a matter of APC or PDP, its a matter of d political maturity of d pple involved. Fayemi congratulated fayose, Agbaje congratulated ambode, etc. The S/westerners are the most politically mature pple, but in d south south esp Rivers and bayelsa, they are very immature politically. Surulere LGA is more populated than Bayelsa state but it took a Month to conduct elections there because of violence, its not an APC or PDP matter, its d pple involved. Its clear U're a PDP fan from ur write up. |
misspicy:Most babes wanna use sex to get relationship/commitment from a guy, most guys wanna use relationship/commitment to get sex from a babe. Both guys and babes aren't 100% honest |
