Ekiti State is suffering from brain drain. Majority of the young educated people have fled to Lagos and Ibadan for greener pastures, because no job, nothing to be done in the state, save as few that can get job in the state civil service. Hence, there's lack of manpower in the state.
No company, no factories. Only places you can get a job are Afe Babalola University, (the largest private employers of labour in the state), Eksud teaching hospital and banks.

Meanwhile, Ekiti is blessed with a very fertile soil that supports different food and tree crops like maize, cassava, plantain, yam, cocoyam, pepper, tomato, cocoa and palm oil.
