@adepiero you are a blind MOFO! to begin with, who gives the minister of health news about Ebola on a daily basis? or you think prof. Onyeabuchi came to Lagos to monitor the recovery and care process? who went to synagogue to enlighten TB Joshua about Ebola and foreigners seeking healing? - Dr. Jide Idris and his team. who advised churches against crusades pending the outbreak of Ebola? - Gov Fashola even the two cases recorded in PH, where were they treated? - Lagos state all this questions was solved by Lagos state govt and its ppl. Mr fashola is right about every word but the one that seems to be the main point is that which have to do with PDP using Ebola success as a campaign tool! that is very bad. A piece of advice for you @sibabasibaba1, get laid cos I think your brain is blocked by sperrm and its affecting ur reasoning. I DO NOT ENGAGE IN BACK AND FORTH FOR THE SAKE OF WINNING ARGUMENTS. BUT IF YOU WERE SMART, YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT THERE ARE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF TACKLING A PROBLEM. IT'S CALLED TEAM WORK OR SHARED RESPONSIBILITY! THE MAN BACK STAGE CANNOT BE AT THE SAME TIME BE ON THE FRONT DESK ELSE HE WILL PASS OUT. IF THE MAN AT THE ISOLATION CENTRE WERE TO GIVE OUT THE TIMELY INFORMATION THE MINISTER GAVE DAILY, NO ONE WOULD HAVE BEEN AT THE CENTRE AND THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A CALAMITY. I USED TO THINK LIKE YOU WHEN I WAS A 'JUNIOR' STAFF. WHEN I BECAME A SENOR STAFF AND BEGAN ATTENDING MANAGEMENT MEETINGS, WRITING REPORTS AND SETTING TARGETS FOR MY TEAM, THAT WAS WHEN I 'COME KNOW SAY TO BE MANAGER NO BE MOI-MOI'. YOU GUYS SHOULD QUIT PLAYING POLITICS. BOTH LASG, FG, WHO, CDC, ETC DID A WONDERFUL JOB. |
I pity my country when youths become the vuvezela of an 80-year old coup plotter, dictator and despot whose action in the early 1980s took Nigeria to an all time nadir. A man who has no ideas, who for 20 months could not achieve anything as Head of State and whose headship of an Abacha body marginalised the southern part of the country in terms of meaningful projects-even when the golden eggs for the project were laid by the south. I can't be part of that group of youths who have foreclosed their capacity for driving change by championing the return of a grand father who spit on the Constitution and stood on its head, seizing power through machine guns over 30 years ago. Why are we proving the other despot, IBB, right that we are not ready for leadership? Why should we deliberately turn to analog in this digital age? Backward never, forward ever. |
Fashola, to my mind, is the one playing politics here. The President talked about how united Nigerians were in tackling ebola, eschewing party politics. Fashola is here trying to score cheap political points. He talked about LUTH and National Centre for Disease Control, Abuja. Are those Lagos State owned institutions? The daily briefings of the Minister of Health on ebola helped in reassuring Nigerians. Coordinated timely information provision in times of emergency is one of the ways epidemics are contained and the Minister did well in that. It was the FG that traced the nurse who escaped to Enugu, it was also the FG that moved to PH to help contain the virus there. Noone person can take the glory of containing ebola. It was contained through concerted efforts. And I dont think the FG has claimed it contained Ebola without other heroes. For Fashola to begin to insinuate that smacks of gross irresponsibility |
Yea, we have to judge Buhari based on his history-history of criminality and dictatorship; violating the constitution by sacking a duely elected and sworn-in government through the barrel of gun . Yea, history! |

Imagine where we would have been today if that despot, Buhari, had not truncated our democracy then. The power drunk fascist took us back a century. This coup 20 months later to give us the unfortunate eight years of IBB, the hellish five years of Abacha, the roguish nine months of Abdulsalam and eventually the 15 years of stagnation with unprecedented looting by politicians across political divides. Yet some backward thinking nitwits want the vision-less undemocratic Buhari to ruin us again. It's a shame that most of them are youths. Pray! What are Buhari's ideas? What is his vision for Nigeria that we can buy into. In terms of ideas his other corrupt fellow conservatives, Kwakwanso and Atiku, are even ahead of him. And you know why Buhari cannot say anything bad about Atiku? The later was the custom boss at Murtala Mohammed Airport in 1984 during the infamous '52 suit cases' issue. He as every fact and Buhari dares not say nonsense about Atiku. Any wonder he has advised his followers not to insult Atiku? The most ridiculous thing is that these guys are the so-called progressives. What is progressive about Buhari, Atiku and Kwakwanso? The man who hates Nigeria the most is the man who calls APC progressives. I am sure Abacha would have been a progressive if he had been alive. Lest I forget, didn't the progressive go cap in hand and 'dobaleed' to Obasanjo to be their NAVIGATOR? Certainly, APC has redefined progressivism. Yeye de smell. |
Ken Nnamani, Obasanjo's nemesis, a mediocre? I think some people need their brains examined. |
Another lame attempt to deodorize the image of a maximum despot, coupist and democracy destroyer. He ruled for 20 months and never put machinery in motion to hand over to civilians. Abdulsalsam-who like the senior despot is not also a saint-ruled for just 9 months and handed over to civilians. Buhari is so afraid of democracy that he has aversion for party primaries. In his three futile attempts to become President he emerged through dictatorship. Ask Rochas and Bafarawa. When in 2011 Shekarau said NO to his dictatorship, Buhari left and formed CPC and characteristically emerged its candidate without primaries. Did many roads as PTF chairman? Possibly in the North. The only road I know he did in the South East is the Abriba-Uzuakoli Road in Abia State. He MARGINALISED the South East in his roads. I don't know of any road he did in Akwa Ibom. But I did my NYSC during that period in Sokoto. Going through Niger-Kaduna-Katsina-Zamfara-Sokoto, you would see sign posts of PTF projects. Bigot? Judge for your self. Don't give me that PTF and roads bull crap! To be fair to hid PTF, few drugs were bought by PTF for hospitals in the SE and SS. In these regions you would see more of PTF project sign posts in hospitals than roads. Of course, it's cheaper to supplu drugs than build roads. N40 million on drugs will be big but infinitesimal for roads. As I always say, even if you like wash him with all the perfumes of Arabia, the despotic stench of his image will still be there. I only pray that when he loses for the umpteenth time next February he will be godly and patriotic enough to tell his boys in the North not to kill Southern youth corps members and loot the shops of Southerners. |
This guy is really pathetic, I asked for evidence of where Ekwueme agreed to be currupt and you brought a NYT link of where Idiagbon was accusing Ekwueme of having money in his house. You sure do not know how rich Ekwueme was before joining politics. You sure do not also know of Justice Uwaifo panel verdict on Ekwueme. Go find it and read. Buhari and Idiagbon couldnt even prove in the tribunal they set up that they found money in Ekwueme's house. Nonetheless, if you did not get me: Bring an evidence of where Ekwueme agreed to being corrupt as you have always claimed. The day you come up with the evidence is the day I will take you serious. For now, you are just an APC e-leach. |
The question is do you have any proof that Odili killed Marshall Harry and you are beating about the Bush? Odili got a perpetual injunction restraining EFCC from probing his activities as Rivers State Governor. EFCC does not investigate murder cases. I am not aware that Odili got an injunction restraining Police from investigating him over the murder of Harry. Please provide the link to such injunction. I know you can't just as you have not been able to provide a link to your oft bandied LIE that Alex Ekwueme confessed to corruption when your pay master put him in prison and kept Shagari under house arrest. |
That a Nigerian youth is praising a man as corrupt as Tinubu shows how low our values have sunk. Any wonder why we are where we are today. The OP is asking for proof that Tinubu is corrupt. But he has consistently said the Peter Odili killed Marshal Harry without providing a quarter of a proof. What else is naked hypocrisy. SMH! |
Corruption personified. Not even the perfumes of Arabia can wash away the stench of his corruption, which, according to Ribadu, has international dimension. I can see many APC e-rottweilers genuflecting on Nairaland before the god of Bourdillon. |
It's a shame that some people are campaigning for someone who subverted the will of the people 31 years ago to ruin Nigeria again. Buhari the coupist and dictator does not like Nigerian youths. If he did, he would give them a chance. What will he be discussing with his grand children? What ideas does he even have? What is his vision for Nigeria? Do you expect a near octagenarian to have sny vision? He truncated democracy and never had any plan to return power to civilians in the 18 months he held sway as a maximum ruiner. Contrast it with Abdulsalam Abubarkar who midwifed a transition program in just 9 months. Anyhow, he will lose again. His candidature makes the job easy for PDP. He is their custormer. I only pray that he doesn't send his boys in the north to kill southern corps members in tbe north and loot southerners shops there when he loses again. |
This serial loser, democracy destroyer, coupist, dictator, despot, gerontocrat, hater of youths, etc. Thank you for coming out once more. That makes the job easier for PDP. I hope your boys will not kill southern corps members and loot southern shops in the north when you lose as you are wont to. |
What is Buhari's vision for Nigeria? No idea, no vision, no plan. Some people are just mad. Someone who ruled or ruined (?) Nigeria 30 years ago to come back and rule us again? Perhaps his fellow coupist and democracy destroyer, IBB, was right: Nigerian youths are not ready for leadership. SMH! |
Buhari the democracy destroyer! The man who took Nigeria back 20 years. The chief coupist who denies his involvement in coups. You can't get what you destroyed. |
Buhari is a democracy destroyer, period!!! |

Provide a link on Ekwueme's corruption or SHUT UP forever. You have often bandied this your fiction. This time, you did not add that Ekwueme admitted to his corruption. As I asked in one of the threads where you spewed this your fallacy: Are you aware that Ekwueme was investigated by Justice Ayo Irikife and the good Justice found that: 'Alex Ekwueme went into politics a rich man, and left as a poor man'. P |
Even if, for the sake of argument, we agree that Buhari was not part of the coup plotters, it is public knowledge that a receiver of stolen goods is also a thief. Besides, what it takes to be part of a coup is to be aware of the panning of the coup. When you become aware of a coup, you are supposed to report to the commander-in-chief. Buhari was well aware that a coup was in the offing-at least, his attack dogs cannot deny that- but did he report that to his C-in-C? Obasanjo was implicated in the 1995 Gwadabe coup- which the Lagos-Ibadan axis press call a phantom coup- because it was said that he had knowledge of the coup. |
APC e-maggots say GMB was not part of the planning of the 1983 coup that sacked Shagari's government. They tell us that he was, in fact, invited by the planners to become head of state after the coup. Well, in this abridged interview, Tanko Yakassai insists that Buhari was fully aware of the plot and that some of the meetings of the coup plotters, were, in fact, held in his then residence in Jos. Q. In our last edition of Rariya newspaper, former Vice President Alex Ekwueme has denied the allegation made by Buhari’s government against that of Shagari saying it was toppled because of widespread corruption. He said it was the Southern papers which were mainly owned by top UPN stalwarts that were spreading the false rumours. Since you were in that government; what do you have to say? What he said is true. There is widespread corruption even now, but the newspapers only focus their attention wherever they want, not necessarily where the corruption is taking place. You see newspaper looking the other way, even if they knew something wrong is happening in a particular place because of certain interests. During Shagari’s tenure, only two or three ministers were accused. One of them fled to England after the coup, but don’t forget that while he was there, he was being fed, but the rumour then was that he had amassed lots of dollars. Another one had to sell his property to feed his family after he returned. That is proof enough that the allegations of corruption against them were not true. After the military coup, we had soldiers who stole so much that up to now, no one has stolen as much as they did. I don’t have to mention names. Just check critically yourself, from the time of Gowon to date, between the military guys and civilians like Shagari whom we were in government together with, and whom we have been in politics with for over 60 years, who stole the most? Shagari began politics with the Sokoto youth party, and I with Kano youth party in 1946, and Shagari began before me by one year, and he is older than me with one year. Go and see at least three people who started politics in that era, people such as Shagari, Ali Monguno and Maitama Sule; they have held all sorts of positions, but go and meet people close to them and let them tell you how much each has in his bank account. I swear to you none of them has more than three million naira in his account, except may be one person, and even you see it there, may be someone gave it to them. They were just engaged in politics and not stealing. Shagari and Alex Ekwueme were investigated for more than twenty months, at the end of the day, Justice Ayo Irekefe said Alex Ekwueme went into politics a rich man, and left as a poor man. They investigated Shagari extensively, but could not establish a case of stealing a dime on him before they let him be. But we saw what the person investigating him did afterwards, he is still extremely rich. If you read the history of Shagari, I have a copy, I can give you; in chapter 17, the writers used about 70 pages discussing what they did to Shagari. Q. Let’s go back to the issue of coup, we were on it before we diverted to your stay in prison. Where were we? In the book I was telling you about, they said Obasanjo told Umaru Shinkafi, that shortly after the election of 1979, some military officers went to him and informed him not to hand over to Shagari. Obasanjo told them that he had already told the world he was going to hand over power, and that he inherited the office, after a coup attempt that was not successful. He stated that his predecessor promised to hand over, and it means he must hand over. Obasanjo also told them that he has initiated an election process which was successful. Shagari won, people went to court and he won there as well. ‘So on what grounds should I tell the world I would not hand over to him? Who do you even want me to hand over to? And they said, ’hand over to Buhari’!’ So even before power was handed over to Shagari, the military attempted to steal it and hand over to Buhari. So it wasn’t about bribery and corruption or not to hand over to Alex Ekwueme. I am not the first person to say this; the boys who published Shagari’s book said it first. But, I have also relayed it in my book. And I will give you a copy to go and read. And since his assumption of power by Shagari, there were several attempts to topple him until they eventually succeeded. It was revealed in that book that the military had attempted to stage a coup even before the second election in 1983. They sought the advice of one of their senior officer who had retired, he told them he supported the idea of a coup, but if they did it before the election, Awolowo would say it was because he was billed to win the election, and the Yoruba owns the newspapers and most editors at the time were also Yoruba and so they would give it widespread publicity such that the world would reject the coup. He advised them to let the election take place first, before they do whatever they want to do. There was also a revelation in the book that General Domkat Bali’s wife thought her husband was having an affair when she noticed that he always came home late, unlike him. When her suspicion became too much, one day he told her that he was not having an affair, but he was always coming back late because they were meeting in Buhari’s house to stage a coup. Buhari was the GOC in Jos at the time, and he told her not to tell anyone. Incidentally, Domkat Bali’s wife is related to the wife of Solomon Lar, the then Governor of Plateau State. She realised that a coup would affect her relatives’ husband, and she could not take it, because she feared he could be killed. So, she told Lar’s wife, and Lar’s wife also told her husband. It happened that Shagari was going to open the school in Kuru. Solomon told Shagari that he had something to tell him, but Shagari advised him to wait until after the event. After the event, Solomon Lar told Shagari what he was told at the Presidential lodge in Jos, he mentioned Domkat Bali’s wife as the source of the information. Lar said he had wanted to bring up the issue at the meeting of the National Security Committee, but when he realised that he is not the Commander in Chief, he thought it best to wait, since Shagari is also coming to Jos. Shagari now informed Solomon Lar to go and tell Buhari that this is what he heard, that he was planning a coup. But Lar said I can only do that if you let me inform him that the message came from you. Shagari agreed to that. So when they met with Buhari while they were seeing off President Shagari, Solomon Lar excused Buhari aside and said he wanted to see him, and would come see him at home. But Buhari said how can you a governor come to my house? Lar insisted that he would go. So he went to Buhari’s house and informed him that it was Shagari that sent him to let him know that there was a rumour going round that they were planning a coup. Buhari said it was not true, there was nothing like that. He asked Lar to go and assure Shagari that it was not true. After Lar left, Buhari called Umaru Shinkafi because they were friends and asked him to meet as soon as possible in Kaduna. Umaru Shinkafi informed Shagari and he was given an aircraft to take him to Kaduna. When they met, Buhari told Shinkafi that he was going to retire since the Commander in Chief does not trust him anymore. There was a time, the military authorities wanted Buhari transferred to Abeokuta but people like Umaru Dikko kicked against it because they said bringing someone like Buhari closed to the seat of power is dangerous. That was why Shagari asked that Buhari be transferred to Jos. He was very angry with that decision because he felt, he was not trusted. So the second incident made him tell Shinkafi that he was going to retire, since no one trusted him anymore. Shinkafi, in his capacity as the Security Adviser to Shagari, informed Buhari that he knew the president trusted Buhari, so he should not think of retiring. He went back and informed Shagari that Buhari said he should not worry; there was no cause for alarm. That was what prompted Buhari’s group; they realised that the issue had begun to leak, so they had to strike early. But even before this incident, they had also planned to topple the government on the day Shagari was sworn-in for his second term. In fact Umaru Shinkafi even though did not come out to tell the president that he suspects something was wrong, advised the president to wear a bullet proof vest on his way to the inauguration. Shagari asked him why? I will not wear it. It got to a point Umaru Shinkafi was even shedding tears before Shagari agreed to wear it. In the book, they quoted Babangida as saying they were aware of all this, but Shagari’s people did not know that plans had changed. Before then, all plans had been perfected and a plane had even been dispatched to Jos to fetch Buhari with instruction to wear his full military regalia, and text of his national speech was already given to him for his inputs before 1st October, 1983. Why they changed their minds, no one knows. This means that they had planned the coup even before the one Solomon Lar got wind of and informed Shagari. 1. Tai Solarin was corrupt 3. Alex Ekwueme was jailed of corruption. Stockpiles of money ranged from $56,000 found at his home. He even owned up to the offence. Mr BARCANISTER, Oga, Can you please educate us on Solarin's and Ekwueme's corrupt practices. When was the money found on Ekwueme and where? Are you aware of Justice Irikife panel's report on Ekwueme? Can you provide a link to Ekwueme's acceptance of the corruption you are alleging? Answer these questions or SHUT UP on Ekwueme's jail issue forever. You can defend your man, GMB the democracy destroyer, for all we care but with facts-not with fiction. Cheers. |
