loluc90: simply change ur symbol rate to 27000,frequency remains the same.

this symbol rate works on 4922series but not on 4669 series can anyone explain why

Agbgift: Good day to you all. Please for the past one four days my strong decoder attached to X5 box on Eutelsat has not be working. I even tried it on AZskybox, still the same thing. I use a space dish for it. Can someone put ne through? Hope my explanation is not weird? Because am not use to all your electronic terms. Just want to learn and find solution to it. The Dstv channels are not working, only few of the free to air channels that are showing.


Guys plz help out here. Or una nor they answer ladies for here?

try the same proceedure again again. this time press and hold the power on botton in front before putting on the power on switch behind the decorder and see if it will boot from the pen drive

MOST MODERN HD DECODERS E.G 4922 HD ETC HAVE A SIGNAL BOOST OF 8% HIGHER THAN THE NORMAL 4669X, 4669XII ETC, SO IF YOU GET A SIGNAL OF 70% WITH YOUR 4922 HD, IT WILL BE 62% ON YOUR 4669XII, BUT IT IS USUALLY BETTER TO TRACK WITH 4922 BECAUSE IT HAS A VERY SENSITIVE TUNER UNLIKE 4669XII, SO TRY AND TRACK WITH THE 4922 TO GET UP TO 70% ON IRIB THEN REMOVE THE CABLE AND PUT IT IN THE 4669XII, IT WILL THEN BE 62% ON THE 4669XII WHICH WILL BRING OUT THE PICTURES. I agree with you on 4922 having a high sensitive turner but signal boost of 8% over 4669 series convince us more. i can vividly remember at the introduction of 4922 it recorded low signal. i personally wrote to strong technologies about it and posted a signal boost opon the introduction of one of the s/w updates. i am now using s/w 1.31 and cannot percieve signal supremacy of 4922 over 4669 series. please give us the secrete so that we all can enjoy the waves of FTA

Multi TV TV3 channel has been scrammbled. Is this going to be the begining of the end of their FTA service or it is accidental?

twinskenny: some channnels show programm info and i can only see the next 2 program nothing more

where a channel shows the programme info, press the vol key on the right subsequent ones will be revealed. for the next days programes press the yellow botton

SULIEMAN3: as for me unlike my two gurus methods, gadotor and faithchild... I downloaded a strong loader along with strong 4922a software then after extracting the software to stb format, i connect the rx to the apropriate port of my pc through rs232cable... I inserted my flash drive into the usb port of the pc i now switched on the rx and look for 4922a software from the loader(remember the loader is stored in flash drive not in the pc) and click connect from the loader then it loaded to 100% and erased data followed by writting... And the rx came alive working fine more than how it was b4 with 1.19p software.
The result of the above procedure was 100% good though i personally hv not tried the two written methods by gadotor and faithchild.... The two methods are welcome cos they give a short way to the solution of the problem.

Bro SULIEMAN3 other members will like to know the results of the procedure. can you confirm the outcome so that anyone who experience such a situation can fall on or will not use the procedure as suggested by Gadoto. with 3g and 4g compatible (u can connect your internet modem to it to feed your devices) can that work?

these gadget can work but the fact is rx like the 4922 series that i use have no wireless hardware component, I am not sure of the 4930L. this implies that you must get a hardware gadget that will enable the rx to identify the wireless signal with the aid of the wireless software included in its setup. this is where the wireless dongle comes in. it serves as a wireless hardware for the rx to enable it pick up the wireless signals. with the tp-link i am hope it has the rj45 port if so why dont you use it for convinience sake. in electronics nothing is impossible may be other members may have some more experience to share. keep trying and you shall be there. thanks

I have not used the 4930l. what is obvious is that the software of your rx should support Wi Fi. secondly there should be wireless internet signals facility available in your locality. connect the dongle properly to the rx. when the signal are identified you will be connected that is if the wireless facility is unprotected. but if it is protectd you need to configure your rx to conform with the security of the wireless internet facility. hope this will help.

Are you sure it is your internet that is interfering with your Multi tv signal. I have my broad band mordem direct above my rx. it is a landline mordem that has wifi. I browse and watch tv all the time without any inteferance here in ghana. Or is it that the frequency of your internet in your countery is closer to what multi tv is using? check from other members from ghana and compare to members from your side perhaps it may lead to a solution

Could you state you problem in more clear terms. it is ttrue that when you power the 4922 series a red light bips followed by the usual pannel light (yellow dashes) of the rx then what next?

A dongle like d Avata as an hardware? if thats what u mean i have dt. In dt case hw dos it work? otherwise u must b refering to a different dongle.

No a dongle is a small piece of hardware that attaches to computer, TV, or other electronic device and enables additional functions. the type of dongle I mean is a USB WiFi dongle. You can also call it a USB Wi Fi adaptor. It looks like this

Yea you will not realise it. As you know the 4922 series were not manufacture with a Wi Fi hard ware so you will need a dongle to complement the soft ware to enable you connect to the internet by the Wi Fi.

@ all using 4920, 4922, 4922A the software 118 solves the problem of 10% loss of quality reception. I uploaded it today and to my surprise realise reception level has increased from 85% to 93% and reception Quality from 72% to 82% on Astra 2F (Multi TV)there was also similar rise in reception on other satellite positions. Not convinced by what I realised I reloaded an older version and realised the fall in reception again.Will do a more detail analysis by weekend when I am free. Try it and confirm my story.

it means a new software is in waiting. if you put off your deoder and put it om again it will start the download and installation of the new software. if you are not sure of the genuineness of your set select a channel that doe not belong to the mytv group, change the OTA menu from default to uer including the frequency before you put off your set. if you have put it off already then disconnect the lnb from the decorder before switching in on.

Lanceosas: sir are u saying their is noway out from this so called OTA upgrade?

I am not saying that. there are several options. you can update 69x and 69xii with the latest s/w version 302 from Crosat, also by using the ideas of Sammu. even by carefully disconneting the coxial cable from the set before the download compltes stops the upgrade. What I am saying is that when you are using the "old" s/w and you change the OTA menu from default to user any time you visit the mytv channels on 68.E the OTA menu automatically reverts back to the default.

That is nice but one can still configure his/her 69 series reciever so that it will never upgrade on it own. It is simple. Just go to menu with your remote then enter pin. Scroll down to OTA menu and press ok. Change scan mode from default to user. Scroll down to satellite and change it to something like this "0.0E----", scroll down to frequency and change it to something like this "[1] 0.000 GHz". Symbol rate should remain like this "0.000 MS/s. Then save your setting. After that, your reciever will freeze then switch off your reciever from the back and switch it on again and go back to the OTA menu, press ok with your remote then press exit and your reciever will ask you "DO YOU WANT TO SAVE? Then save and your reciever will never think of upgrading through OTA. Thank you.

I have used this technique for some time now but what I have realised is that when you switch to any of MyTv's station, the decorder (strong) will automatical switch back to the default OTA and immediately NEW S/W appears on the right bottom corner of your screen. When such happens and you do not revert your OTA menu off the default and you put off your set , any time you start your set it will download the new software
