will there be a new application for those who didnt apply for Seplat last time?

I don't think so.

The guy said no sort of advertisement as regards this.

They pulled the list from those who reached either the assessment centre or the final interview and wasn't successful.

However, you can forward your details CV to HCP and see if you will be considered.

Afterall, it is a fresh recruitment process.

Boss,

The call is about what was in your mail and also that there will be a recruitment process in the coming months (test, assessment centre).

They just wanted to confirm our interest.

With limited time to deadline MOD should move to front page

Good day, will PushCV be conducting union bank management trainee recruitment this year? Thanks

Should likely be, they only conduct tests (online and physical) which are the preliminary stages before the AC to be conducted by the bank's resource people.

However, it is subject to changes but as of now, it is good to prepare with pushcv materials since they have been the one in charge for previous years.

Yes, I have never heard of a case someone lost admission.

After the unsuccessful folks were signed out from their departments and the new department still didn't accept them, it would be logical to assume they were deparmentless for a certain period of time behind the scenes, even though they weren't aware.

I'm guessing it was during this period of departmentless ness they were moved to another department they never chose -- Structural enginering -- to fix that.

When the list came out and they saw their names beside new departments they never chose, they contacted their course adviser requesting the move to be cancelled, so they remained in their department. Had they not contacted their course advisers within the stipulated period the instruction told them to, they would have been moved to structural engineering, permanently.

Thanks again for detailed info. since it is risk free. It is safe to go ahead and hope it works.
Education / Re: 2019/2020 UNIBEN Admission Guide Thread!!! by simplebb: 8:01am On Sep 22, 2019
Ksslib:

Electrical enginering is a very competitive and loved course in the faculty of Engineering, Uniben. They receive more applications than available slots.

Transfer in engineering is easier if you know somebody. Not saying it is impossible to transfer without knowing somebody, but knowing somebody will save you guys alot of tension and uncertainty since we're talking about a non-refundable transfer fee of 50k here.

Things you should know:

1.. Since Uniben started their jupeb program, the available slots normally reserved for transfer students has drastically reduced, because they also need to accommodate successful jupebites into 200level, too. It will be logical to assume that incoming successful electrical jupebites will be given preference over enginering students looking to switch departments. Nevertheless, I believe they'll always be slots for transfer students but jupeb has a process that was almost 100% guaranteed years ago, now a little bit tougher.

2. To put the above into perspective, none of the people I knew -- and they were alot --- who bought transfer forms to electrical during our time were successful, except one guy who knew somebody that helped according to him.

3. Once you buy transfer form and your department approves, normally by HOD's signature, they SIGN YOU OUT. This means you're no longer a student of that department. Now, if the new department does not approve your tranfer request it means you're now stuck in a place Catholics refer to as "Purgatory". You're neither here or there.. You're departmentless..(grammar)

4. During our time, even though their transfer requests into electrical was not successful, guess what happened? They moved all of them to another department in engineering they didn't even choose. They were lucky that they saw thier names on the list -- Uniben pastes transfer list at exams and records -- when it came out and were told to contact thier Course adviser within a certain period of time to reverse it if they still wanted to remain in thier departments.

5. As weird and painful as this may sound, your brother's stellar academic record might become his bane, because it is not unheard of for Head of departments to refuse signing transfer forms of their best students. No depratment wants to loose thier best student, under any circumstance. However, I'm sure they won't try to keep him against his will at gun point, but I won't be surprised if they try to tactically talk him out of it. Or sabotage it( I've heard it happens, but maybe it's just beer parlour gist).

6. Since the only guy in my department who was successful( I also knew alot of people from other departments who weren't successful too) didn't particularly have a steller academic record, we can say class of degree at time of transfer is not that much a big deal( I think the only criteria is for the student not to be probating) . However, it is only logical to assume that as no depratment wants to lose thier best student, it is the same way every depratment will want to take in the best.

7. But as you know, parsing logic together with how Nigeria really works is like trying to marry oil and water. Will a first class student be considered over someone whose Uncle plays ludo with a certain lecturer?

This is a question only a non-refundable transfer fee of 50k( if it's still 50k) can answer. If the money is there, I feel it's a gamble worth taking depending on how bad the boy wants it.

Thanks for taking out time to logically provide answers, he badly wants it such we strongly might definitely proceed.

For clarity @ number 3, many folks have said one can't lose admission.... So if I may ask u what happens to the departmentless folks as you opined up there?? Then what happened to all the unsuccessful folks during your set? Lost admission, revert back to where they are coming from or moved to a new department.

Thanks, await your response.

Mechatronics is a new course. Who's the HOD? Ask him, he would either be from Production Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, the former likely because they own the lab. The HOD (or sometimes Dean) will sign out the student willing to transfer while the Dean will sign in new student coming in. This process is done by the exams and records department

The HOD is from Mechanical Engineering.

Thanks for the clarity.

Losing admission through this process is a myth. Impossible. If transfer doesn't work, you're to resume your former course with immediate effect except that department wan reach Senate. If it's within Engineering, he'll get it 100% even if he's on a 2.1, even 2.2 sef. I know UNIBEN terrain like witch. What dept to what dept?

Thanks for the detailed response.

He is changing from Mechatronics to Elect Elect which has always been his passion. He is currently on a first class too in case they want to consider grade.

You can go ahead with buying the transfer form. If your new department doesn't accept you, you will stay in your previous department. You will start the transfer of documents after you've been accepted in your new department. It's risk free.

Okay, thanks so much.

Lose admission? I can't really say but something close to that. What I'll tell you is if you know nobody, like not even a little connection...just forget abt transfer especially if there is a wide gap btw the 2 courses involved.

Thanks for d input.

He is changing from one Engineering course to another (I believe the gap here is not wide) and he is on a first class...shldn't that be easy??

Don't know transfer is that complex at Uniben.

Good day guys,

Please my bro wants to process inter departmental transfer by the end of the current session and he was told by someone he could lose admission if it didn't go through saying if the new department doesn't accept him, his admission would be forfeited.

How true is this?? And can you share more light on the inter departmental transfer thing...

Lol grin,... Bros, me just dey wonder oh cause if i have bigger offers and am seemingly not interested in the outcome of this recruitment regardless of whether I was interviewed or not, I bet you I would hardly comment let alone make my self the subject matter and I know more than 90% of us would do same. But it is perplexing for some one to say he is sure of not taking up an offer, yet he is always on the thread wanting to know when the outcome would be out and even making himself a subject matter. Any rationale human being would begin to wonder to what end? grin

Even in the case of Oga jarus that has let us know he may not take the offer, it is understandable why he still comment time to time and that's partly because of his career coaching job which would definitely make him interested in the outcome. I doubt he would even bother himself to comment if he had no interest whatsoever let alone make himself the subject matter. In short I am pretty sure 99% of us here wouldn't even bother to comment if we aren't going to take up this offer and having something higher as our target.

I posted here days ago on this same subject.

Why would I expend/be expending so much energy on a job I would 99.9% or 100% reject and even be everywhere on the job thread bothering myself with issues as regards the recruitment.

If you know you won't 100% take up a job, then you won't even be here at all, or would check the thread once in a bluemoon just to know what's going on with those that are interested in it, definitely as a low key follower.

This doesn't conform to logic.

But then, what do I know

This thread lost its sanity after the interview with so many unrelated and unneeded information, baseless theories here and there...

The arrival of APL would really help in restoring it.

okay, because of the previous happenings and advice on the thread, i am not supposed to say this so i'll put it this way, the ''last i checked'' was way back before i consulted several people on the issue, since then NNPC has been off my list. I think, not sure, i even mentioned it in one of my previous comments that they were my last option. So the point is i would most likely 99.9% not be accepting NNPC's offer. That 0.1% is for some exceptional unforeseen circumstances or advice

The funniest thing about this thread is many of those guys who have presidential connection, who are on presidential list, vice president list, senate list, NNPC gatekeeper list, NNPC Cook list, those who would most likely 99% reject NNPC's offer due to varying reasons such as multiple offers and its acclaimed low pay when compared to what they currently earn are following this thread and refreshing for update every minutes, bothered about APL-TF relationship, when the list will be out and a whole lot of thing as regards the recruitment.

Then I have to wonder why bother this much for a job you will 99% reject??

I am still searching for answers.

Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less. Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real.

At the end of the day, i just hope these self acclaimed intelligent gurus get the APL, because it would be very shameful if they don't.

Faceless forum or not, it's not right to come here and lay yourself bare. No matter what you think u have achieved before now, it doesnt count one bit in this NNPC recruimtent. its a Federal Government Graduate Trainee recruitment and doesn't really care about your FAMED super intelligence, past achievements, or historical innuendo. If the GT slots are only for those with "supernatural" brains, then NNPC wouldnt have made it open to 2.1 and 2.2...... its a national cake and every nigerian graduate from any ethnic group or tribe and state in general has an equal right to it..

The final selection is based on several in-house factors that we and I repeat, WE do not know anything about. MARK MY WORDS, many applicants who are nothing in terms of the above listed traits (first class, Super intelligentz,, many projects achieved,, past acievements etc) will get this job and many who are already feeling like their own is too much will not get even TF not to talk more of APL. (not cursing nobody but fact) .

I see some people have even already been crowned with the APL letters by other ppl here.. nice one. some people here believe in other members in this thread more than they believe in themselves, saying things like "if Oga J**** or Oga M***** or Oga N**** don't get APL, den no hope for me (a pity).

some are just filled with negativity, anxiety and thoughts of failure because of their inferiority complex and lack of hope and they come to this thread to fill others with their fears..(and fear does spread like wildfire)

I have seen some even boasting that they might not accept the offer if they get the APL. (Wow, and yet you went through the stress from the application process down to the final stage, Kudos. And yet you are always on nairaland every day commenting and earnestly waiting for the APL with others.) I just hope those particular ones show us the Proof of their APL before they reject the offer sha.

HEAR THIS... NNPC APL will humble most enigmas here..

Some are just looking for any comment that will favour them and then they take it up and spread it more.. Those that have received TF are busy looking for theories that will say that TF & APL are not correlated.. those that have not received TF are busy hyping the theory that said TF is sent to unsuccessful candidates..

You forget that it is not by your power nor your intelligence alone that u have reached this stage.. anybody who has reached this stage of WAITING FOR APL should be congratulated.. 1st Class or no First Class, Intelligent Guru or not..

Do YOU KNOW that data released after the application portal was closed revealed that OVER 5 million applicants applied for GT alone. u all applied and were among that number.. but only about 60 to 70 thousand applicants were invited for CBT, ( about 10k candidates were reported to be posted to each center). u went for the CBT and were among the around 9 to 10 thousand lucky ones invited for interview... why not continue believing in urself and the grace that brought you this far and stop looking for Infos, theories and comments that would only create more fear in you and increase your anxiety. Pray and believe. AND if u don't believe in any God or god, den believe in your guts...

This superficial ranking and his hyping of people here should stop. During induction a lucky first class applicant would be standing close to a lucky 2.1 applicant who would also be standing close to another lucky 2,2 applicant and you will all start from the same entry level and receive the same amount salary, ur past achievement would not count.. AT ALL.

I leave you with a quote from A.L.Kennedy who once said and I quote--

"Have more humility. Remember you don't know the limits of your own abilities. Successful or not, if you keep pushing beyond yourself, you will enrich your own life--and maybe even please a few strangers."

Peace out and Goodluck to those who do not stop believing.

Hmmmmmmmmm

Listing the four categories of hazards is like answering a theoretical exam question. I doubt the panel would ask to just list 4 "hazards" from nowhere. It must have been related to the work environment you are possibly interviewing for. In construction sites, especially for O &G, works are broadly classified into "hot and "cold" works. Most times, works related to steel fabrications are classed as "hot work" and there
Are inherent hazards associated with it that are not present in cold works. So, you should have tried to narrow down the question to a particular work activity related to your field.

I equally agree, listing to me doesn't mean one would just say physical and stop there, one will take time to elucidate further and link it to what can be seen in the work place. giving real life scenario to further drive home one's point also serves better.
