Akukaria:Lol, this is funny though. |
Lovingkindness:Refresh your mailbox, search through. |
Jaylord1:Sorry I didn't reach you, quite a lot busy. I will try to Reach you, no need for further questioning here. The person should go for the AC. |
tobbyoladejo:None, as you can see. At least based on previous set. Though u also need to know about the bank. So u can read more on the bank's core values, its past, present and where it is heading to. It will help you a lot during the process too. Organizations tends to pay attention to candidates who share the same core values with them. |
[quote author=Wanderlust18 post=73388973]Thank you very much! Will work with this now, hope we can come back with more questions if we need some more clarification.[/quote U welcome Sure definitely. |
Glowing05:No, if you are successful at AC.... Medicals and documentations will follow then resumption at TS (Training School) |
Lovingkindness:Please search through your mailbox, check everywhere spam, Inbox delete folders, Promotions, refresh am well. BTW where did u write your second test? Let's know maybe you need to reach the bank. |
accessclem:Last year it was three weeks (1 week at Abj, 2 weeks at Lagos). For this year, I can't really say, it depends on the number of selected candidates for AC. All in all, successful applicants will surely resume early next year. |
YOUNGEBEN91:LOL, I observed it too. From FUTA to Funaab to UNIOSUN to Uniben now.... Coincidence Maybe |
karferguso:The assessment centre was invented as a replacement for the conventional interview method, The conventional interview method has its loopholes in that candidates could have crammed the answers before coming for the session. The assessment centre provides a real life scenario where the employer gets to see prospective employees in action. The activities most times includes a psychometric test, numerical test, essay writing, group discussion, personal presentation etc. For UBN, it is personal presentation and group discussion. Tips for success. I have attended three AC at three top notch organizations and have mastered some techniques that have worked so well for me. For the personal presentation, 1. You can learn how to make use of SWOT to analyze case study, this will really help newbie who will be analyzing case studies for the first time. So as much as you can, work on your comprehension skills, analytical skills (problem solving and decision making) and usage of time, this is key in this stage, If you are sound in this, you will do well. You won't have the whole time in the world, learn to use the given time judiciously. Read, study and understand your case study and write out the salient points. You must be practical in your solutions and ensure they are well thought of as such see the case study as real life, like this is happening in reality. 2. After the analysis comes the presentation, for this you need to work well with time usage too, effective communication and presentation skills (you can work on this before that day) will help a lot, be confident and speak assertively, share your findings to the panel, the problems (root causes) and the solutions (recommendations). Ensure your confidence level is high and just be yourself. Also questions will be asked, you must be able to think strategically and come up with meaningful answers and that's why sound understanding of the case study is paramount. After that comes the group discussion, In this case you will have another case study to deal with. Just like the first one, study it critically and understand it, take note also of the salient points and also what you are meant to do as a group. During discussion, be outspoken and contribute positively (you don't need to talk ten times to be preferred, just ensure your contributions are meaningful, I only spoke thrice, and I still remembered at one other organization it was just twice so no be about who talk pass but I didn't say you should go and be dumb, we need to hear from you as we know you are smart, also learnt to work collaboratively with your group (teamwork is being looked out for here, UBN ain't employing a loner who doesn't value his/her team) so don't talk down on others, don't attack anyone even if they don't share your own views and don't force your points down the throat of everyone. All in all, eat well, refresh yourself, look good, dress well, sleep well (not like you shouldn't prepare oooo lol), arrive early, be your best, act your best and do your best, and also before and after pray well. I wish you all the best. If I have any further additions, I will modify this comment. Remember there is no competition on the extra mile (learnt this at UBN). All the best. |
febo15:Hi, Assessment centre is just an avenue to assess some personality traits and skills needed according to the company. For UBN, these skills include strategic thinking, collaboration, communication, teamwork, etc. Therefore, you really need not to work up yourself reading to pass the test. Just be yourself, at least if you have a good comprehension and problem analysis/solving skills you are good to go. You also need to pay more attention to details. You will possibly be given some passages that contains some narration of some critical situations and you will be asked to identify the problem and the underlying responsible factors to the problems. Make presentations on one and discuss with others colleagues of about 5-7 candidates on some given tasks in the other passage. So give yourself enough rest, be at your best and be the original person you are, then pray and always wish yourself the best. The process is known to be fair (though can not guarantee the transparency), at least even if the final selection criteria are not known, selected candidates will surely be fairly selected. Wanderlust18:Congratulations to you and all that got the invitation, the very last hurdle to getting into the Union Bank MT programme. I will provide d tips later in the night, Watch this space. |
Wanderlust18:You welcome, you all should be calm. AC invites will start rolling out soon from the bank. |
darfay:Uncle calm down, It is School of Earth and Mineral Sciences. |
eavivian:Please did u apply for d recent entry level role and have you been shortlisted, or any news? |
zerozz:Problem ti e niyen. 206 out of 6000, not even up to 5%. Biko, let us rest. |
tzoracle:206 out of 6000 (3.43 %) Fair enough. Two sessions combined together.... |
PythonDancer:The guy is part of the students FUTA rejected as they often take the best in the parks. They always want to berate the school at any opportunity they have. Even to get 2.2 in FUTA you will shed blood. If you cannot read hard or you know you are the lazy type, don't even venture into that zone. |
Awoo88:That was then. They have eight schools now namely SEET (9 depts), SET (7) SAAT 8 , SOS 8, SMAT 6 SHHT 3, SEMS 5, SOC (School of Computing 5 depts).... Total = 51 departments. FUTA has really changed as it keeps up with technological advancement which was what necessitated SOC. FUTA of then is different from FUTA of now. |
Awoo88:Well over 45 departments as at my last count. So very much in order. Maybe they shouldn't produce First class graduates again. Some folks reasoning sef. Congratulations to them all. Am sure they will do well outside school. |
Alexis11: |
Niorte:Thanks for the explanation, some folks just rush to comment and look for cheap likes, Two sessions and you have 206 out of 6000 (3.43%), It tells you how hard the university is. FUTA of all places. To get my 2.1 sef, I study like am really mad. FUTA graduates are pace setters out there and you have got to respect the work the school is doing. FUTA, home of academic excellence. If you can survive FUTA, you can survive anywhere in the world. |
Opera2167:Okay, thanks. |
Wanderlust18:Hey, The AC last year was in three stages. 1. Documents verification, 2.case study of few pages, which we were expected to analyze and come up with solutions in 45 minutes, then present in 10-20 minutes to the Bank’s panel after which there will be further questions from them on the case study and what was presented. 3. The last stage was a group work, this is also key, where a different topic was given. We were to study it, discuss it together and reach conclusions, time was alloted for both the study and the discussion. I will provide more explanation and key tips to pass this stage once the invites rolls in. P.S: Have attended three different assessment centre in three different organizations and have scaled through it all. |
mnwoke:Hopefully next week AC invites should start rolling in for successful candidates, that's the real test and most tasking of the recruitment process. Just keep calm and keep hoping you are selected, be patient the mail will soon drop, UBN recruitment process doesn't take a long time and that's Commendable. |
TGM2015:Hmmmmmmmm, the quality was quite great and to me they were team of high flyers, none had below the cut off mark and the scores were really great, Infact that was part of the proposition on increasing it to 70 but they had to retain it since that was what was already benched mark, also 2018 MT set also had second test. Even 2017 set also had 65% as cut off mark. Anyway thanks for the input. |
Nicest55:Be assured u will get a response if you are successful informing you of being selected for an assessment centre to be conducted by the bank itself. Hopefully, by next week mails should start rolling in for AC. |
TGM2015:Boss UBN training school cut off mark is 65%, that was what was used for 2018 MT set. Though there were mentions across quarter of a possible increase but it never materialized. |
erimakosamuel:It is graduate engineering trainee. When u are filling d form, there is a box to tick yes or no in line with the courses advertised for, they weren't sleeping when they put that there. Graduate trainee is general, just like Seplat own that is meant to fill every departments across board, but this is specific to Engineering departments, maybe u need to go and read d job advert on their website for further knowledge. But you can go and ahead and apply sir. This is Nigeria where even if a Job says 2.1 Minimum, those with 2.2 will still apply and cry fowl if they ain't shortlisted. Go and apply sir. An accountant applying for the position of graduate engineer, a position that requires strong background knowledge in Engineering and its applications. Best Wishes Sir. Like they say, no harm in trial, 2.2 folks and HND can also apply. |
chyna4luv:It is for Engineering solely, it is due to operational expansion in order to meet business objectives, even the interface for application has engineering written all over it. The advert is quite explicit enough. They can't apply for Graduate Engineer position. Mobil just as other international oil firm also advertises for other fields from time to time, those courses can be on the lookout for it. |
