asadex004: 6 The average weight of a class of 24 students is 36 years. When the weight of the teacher is also included, the average weight increases by 1kg. What is the weight of the teacher? Total weight of 24 students = 36x24 =864 Let the teacher's age be x Then 864+x /25 = 37 (increases by 1) 864+x = 25x37 864+x = 925 X =925-864 X =61. God help us all. |

scobyy2007: The present ages of A and B are as 6 : 4. Five years ago their ages were in the ratio 5 : 3. Find their present ages.
A. 42, 28 B. 36, 24 C. 30, 20 D. 25, 15 Let the present ages be 6x and 4x where x is a common factor to both. Five years ago, A will be 6x-5 while B will be 4x-5 Then 6x-5 / 4x-5 = 5/3 Cross multiply 3(6x-5) = 5(4x-5) 18x-15 = 20x - 25 -15+25 = 20x - 18x 10= 2x X= 5 Present ages A=6x = 6x5 = 30 B = 4x = 4x5 = 20 P.S: If person dey exam hall, just use d available answers to check and get d correct one, no time to waste. |

Kayceenaz: I beg to differ on your answer. $1600 is not 75℅ of $2000 ($1500) which is the exact amount he purchased the painting. Haba oga.... He already sold the stuff so Selling price is 2000 and he made 25% profit.... If the cost price is X, since he is gaining 25% then 125% of X =2000 X = 2000 /1.25 X = 1600 If u want to check, do 25% of 1600 that gives 0.25X1600 =400 Now add 400 profit to the cost price 1600 gives 2000 as selling price. Chikena. Hope it is clear now..... Thanks. |

vingeophysicist: It's possible the guy might be above average in mathematics but I think his problem is pomposity. He is too proud because he has not met people that will humble him. His circle of friends in his university made him thought he is the best in mathematics probably because he scored more than them. He needs more exposure in his field of study to humble him. What is your course of study and your school of graduation? U don't need to start prolonging matters on this. He just felt pained and out of pride typed that, I believe he has learnt the need to be humble. I don't even think he is the best graduating student in his department not to talk of his set. He surely would have met people that are better than him. It is easy to boast and say this and that about oneself. Let's not divert our attention away from the subject matter. |

irumole1975: I had a 2'1 in Mathematics from FUTA. Going by this thread, I've not seen anyone that can match me in this test speaking of which most of the answers the math guru in this thread are posting. Perhaps the recruiter knew I was going to break the record of having the highest score in this test, that is why they never shortlist me. I am better than Most first class graduates, None can par with me. i will move on to better things anyways Ecclesiastes 9:11 [11]I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong, neither is bread to the wise nor riches to men of intelligence and understanding nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all. Be humble and move on to better things bro. God resisteth the proud but giveth grace to the humble. P.S: I graduated with a 2.1 Engineering from same university and was shortlisted. I wasn't shortlisted during DPR own despite meeting all the requirements. Some of my friends that we had same grade together did, some even got the job. Be humble, when it is your time, it is your time. Just be prepared. |

datascience: See it this way. As at the time quite a few were checking their status, shortlisting has not been completed. Hence, it could be the not shortlisted were people whose docs have not been reviewed while review was still ongoing. Its that simple and PTDF has posted a publication to see the logic Another angle. I always love the way you analyze issues critically and see things from varying perspective. For now, he doesn't need to scare people off or write them off, d best is to just fold arms and wait for names of shortlisted candidates. Either one gets it or not, life goes on. |

Why Gang raping a young innocent lady?
This is cruel and an action against humanity.
These guys should be sentenced to jail with immediate effect and allow to rot therein. A total disgrace to humanity.
Monsters parading themselves in human.
To think their family can even offer money to bribe the lady's family tells you the Moral decadence in the society and portrays how a lot of homes in Nigeria are avenue for breeding nuisance, wayward, obdurate, perverse and problematic products into the society.
My heart goes to the lady, I hope she recovers from the trauma of this action.
Kudos to that her friend that took the matter up, he has liberated her from further exploitation, May heaven reward his heart of love. |

insperyadyou: Anybody who applied last year's Ptdf scholarship will know that this 2019 interview update is questionable kind of. Last year's applicant got mails informing them to choose interview Venues OR you will be told they will choose for you. It wasn't Nairaland they used in conveying the message to people. If you are not sent a mail or sms, then you must be a magician to know that, or its possible some ptdf staff leaked the information to some people when they were not yet ready to officially open their portal to shortlisted candidates which eventually lead to system glitch. Those who managed to know about the interview update from Nairaland are the regular guests on this platform, which is by luck or some form of grace. Just so you are informed, a real interview update is on the way. A lot of predictions, they might be looking at after elections, trust me, things might even changed. The PTDF staff I spoke with said shortlisting is ongoing and portal opening is a system glitch. There is no way they won't inform shortlisted candidates. How will one know they have if not by the means of Sms/mail?? Not everyone is on Nairaland now. For now, a lot of guesses as no one knows what's really going on. The best bet is to stay hopeful and hope the fortune falls in one tide. #This is Nigeria. |

Sheddy79: My brother! Do not be deceived by the information from the IT attendants of ptdf! The truth is that if you didn't receive that update about that interview center selection, kindly consider your application as unsuccessful in this session, hence prepare against the next round. The same thing happened last year, even those that were sent success messages in error during the last year edition were eventually recalled, even when the IT attendants were giving some candidates high hopes. However, I wish all those already contacted a fruitful interview. That's serious. But what about those who weren't able to pick d venue. And those who weren't even able to check the portal to know if they were shortlisted or not. So it wasn't a system glitch right..... If it wasn't, then that's a shame on PTDF help desk for not being bold enough to give concrete information. For now, let's fold our arms and watch, things might change this time. #Hope doesn't disappoint. |
Education › Re: Apply 2019/2020 PTDF Scholarship In France, Germany And UK by simplebb: 5:51pm On Feb 21, 2019 |
Okay for clarifications on this issues.
I called the helpline on PTDF website to ask for updates on the matter.
The man who picked d call said it was a system/website glitch and that was why it was later closed, that shortlisting is yet to really start, that if it was they wouldn't have closed it when lot of folks are yet to pick interview centres.
He said those who are shortlisted will be communicated via mail in the coming weeks.
I asked him about those who were informed they weren't shortlisted, he said that's also a system glitch for now.
However this is my own take, seems shortlisting is going on and they are not yet done with it. If u were shortlisted before, pray they shortlist u again, if u weren't pray they shortlist u.

ExpertNLer: wait let's be clear here, this is a "graduate engineering role", and yes I understand the living conditions side of it. Truth is people who have similar calibre jobs already secured won't bother, but those who have lower paying jobs will apply and take the test. Mind you how much do you think the "trainee" salary for ExxonMobil is?
Since it is a graduate role, this is targeted at recent graduates, or people who have went to the US/UK/Worldwide for postgraduate study etc Your point is logical, Even though the living condition in this country is quite poor, ExxonMobil still rank as a big fish and a great place to work, this is a job that pays seven digit figures for entry level engineers, sound training and other benefits when it all adds up. So one can understand while others are poaching for it. Just that it makes the chances for anyone slimmer as the competition get more intense. |
