Courses that are usually in COC form are those in the faculty of science, faculty of education, faculty of agriculture, wood product engineering, vet medicine and at times at least one course in the college of medicine will be available. Also pharmacy sometimes.

What of The faculty of Arts and Social sciences?

There is possibility of the person being given admission. In my class, some were below cut-off by 2 marks and their names appeared on the First list, some without knowing anyone.

Also, in my set, all those who applied to transfer to law while in 200l were accepted, every of them; but few were not released by their departments, even without the best of CGPA.

So crossing is easy for now in Law, if you don't know anyone and if you have grace working for you.

You only might worry about your parent department releasing you.



Note: If quota is not filled for UTME entry, DE and Transfer would be much, sometimes.

Also I work at Lagos, will coming over to UI to seek assistance matter in this kind of case since he is just 0.75 short, I don't know anybody though but I don't want my younger brother to sit down at home doing nothing AND I want him to study Law that has always been his passion.

Then in the advent of crossing, will he lose a year? Or same level continuation?

Crossing is very easy and very hard.
It is hard because

1.because law might have too many candidates and not interested in another weights.

2. Many students also want to cross to law, it's a matter of survival of the fittest with the best CGPA. Sometimes they do not take up to 5 transfer students.

3. If you didn't register for all courses law students are offering in 100l, even with 4.0/4.0 CGPA, u are going no where.


Outside this, crossing is very easy.

Thanks for d input bro. That number three, does it means in addition to the courses of the department he joins say Political science, he will still have to register for all law courses? That looks like too much load units though.

Department like sociology and political science allow their students to cross to law and law accepts students from these departments, however, the competition is tough because only students with strong second class upper and first class are considered.

Please, If after merit list is released and his name ain't there though am hoping he will be picked. Does applying for COC automatically means we forfeit our chances for second List for Law if at all it exists?

It is only God that can stop you from getting mbbs.
There is always second list, which always have a lower cutoff.

I knew people who didn't meet 71.88% cutoff for mbbs but were later considered.

Is there also second list for Law, and what's the chances of someone with 74 since Merit cut off is 74.75

That's quite true. Since it is just 0.25, so you still have great chances, be hopeful.

There have been cases like this sometimes one mark less than cut off and were later considered for admission. So let's be hopeful. Pray this works out for you. It is not so easy having put In so much efforts into this.
