Politics › Kwankwaso Ignores Jonathan, Sambo At Abuja Event by simpleseyi(op): 8:20am On Aug 17, 2013
Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso shunned President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday in Abuja, during an award/gala night organised by the National Council of Women Societies in collaboration with the Office of the First Lady.

Kwankwaso, who was one of the five northern governors that had met with political leaders on the crisis in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, played a hide-and-seek with Jonathan, Sambo and the party’s National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, at the event.

He refused to join other governors, who were on the same table with him when they all moved to the President’s table to exchange pleasantries with him; his wife, Patience; Sambo and his wife, Amina.

Tukur and the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Godswill Akpabio, were on the table beside that of the President.

The governors, who went to pay homage included Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo); Peter Obi (Anambra); Adams Oshiomhole (Edo); Theodore Orji (Abia); Jonah Jang (Plateau); and Idris Wada (Kogi).

Others were the acting governor of Taraba, Garba Umar, and the deputy governor of Bayelsa, John Jonah.

Only Kwankwaso and his deputy, Abdullahi Ganduje, remained on their seats.

The governor also refused to recognise the presence of the President during the presentation of awards to the governors.

All the governors who received awards, on stepping down from the podium, moved to the President for a handshake before returning to their seats.

But immediately Kwankwaso collected his award, he looked the other way, stepped down from the podium and returned to his seat.

Meanwhile, President Jonathan has expressed the fear that he might not be able to achieve the goals of his much-talked about transformation agenda without the full participation of women.

Jonathan raised the concern in a speech at the award/gala night.

At the event, the President was honoured with a “Lifetime Icon Award” for appointing many women into his government.

While Vice-President Namadi Sambo was honoured for supporting Jonathan’s administration to empower women during the award night, the governors of Ondo, Anambra, Bayelsa, Edo, Abia, Kano and Akwa Ibom received awards for the significance presence of women in their governments.

“I strongly believe that we cannot accomplish the goals of our transformation agenda if women comprising about 50 per cent of our population are not fully integrated into our development efforts and programmes,” the President said.

He argued that the Nigerian woman is not only an important part of the nation’s history, but also a part of the country’s future development as a nation.

He recalled that Nigerian women had championed significant national social transformation programmes that have had an enduring impact on the well-being of the country.

Jonathan said women had been playing important and visible roles in the current dispensation in ensuring a thriving democracy and adding value to the lives of the people.

He promised that his administration would continue to take every measure necessary to bring on board the huge resources and acumen that women have to offer.

Wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, renewed her call on the National Assembly to give legislative backing to the 35 per cent affirmative action on women representation in appointive and elective positions.

She said it was only by doing so that the gains of women in the present administration could be sustained.

She observed that the present situation where women only represent 6.4 per cent of the Senate and 6.7 per cent of the House of Representatives left much to be desired.

Quoting from data made available by the Inter-Parliamentary Union, she said Rwanda boasts of the highest number of women parliamentarians in the world with 56.3 per cent in the lower house and 38.5 per cent in the Senate.

She said women parliamentarians in Senegal represented 42.7 per cent; Tanzania, 45 per cent; Burundi, 56 per cent and Mozambique 39.2 per cent.

She added, “We want our men to appreciate that the women we are appealing for are their mothers, aunts, wives, daughters and sisters.

alienware: and their population in foreign prison is bursting at seam. I'm not an igbo, before haters will pop into the scene and derail this thread. I'm from gombe.
Gombe youths can never be in foreign prisons because they are on Nigeria soil; begging for food, throwing bombs and raping children. That is what Ahmadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa planned for your future. You can see what Awolowo and Zik planned for us in the South.

druid06: It seems Allah was deaf to her prayers about protecting her daughter yet some would kill, destroy and do some unmentionable deeds for HIM. Isn't it ironic and pathetic? Fighting for a deity who doesn't give a hoot about you, who wants you to destroy and kill innocent lives because to him they're infidels. People stop putting your hands in false GODS and make your destiny by your own hands.
Na small small craze dey start. This a potential Yaba Left candidate.

pDude: Fortunately for me, she didn't. grin

Like I said, Islam is one of the worst things that happened to planet earth.
But you won't mind working for Dangote, Fashola, Tinubu, Aregbesola despite the fact that they are muslims. Several christian doctors are in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Dubai e.t.c. You love the money but hate the religion. The population of muslims through out the world is equal to the population of christians according to UN-WHO despite that Islam was institutionalized about 600 years after christianity. That should tell you something. Learn to respect other people's beliefs, it is called Civilization, if not, your hatred for Islam will push you to early grave.

haibe: Whether you like it or not, they are are the real muslims, nigeria muslims are just ordinary, the arabs are the real muslims, real muslims are violent, the once in nigeria here don't know the truth about their religion, they still call it "religion of peace", lmfao. grin grin
[quote author=haibe]If real muslims are violent, what adjective or noun do we call real christians? Homosexuals are now ordained priests, catholic priests prefare intimacy with children instead of women. Several pastors have been arranged in court for sleeping with children and co-pastors' wives; not to mention the 419 businessmen pastors. Your hatred for Islam is gradually pushing you to your grave.

This also shows the rate of unemployment in the country because a gainfully employed man/woman will not leave his/her work and jump into Julius Berger truck for 1,000 naira or so. But, when a man/woman knows that there is no food to eat, he/she will jump at any offer including dancing nakked on the street for Patience and Goodluck Jonathan. Even Rotimi Ameachi's wife sef join before them go say im and Rotimi wan over-throw Patience and Goodluck Jonathan through civilian coup. There is no money to pay university lecturers but there is enough to organize this type of rubbish and even money for president's mother to build and donate hostels to a university on strike.
Politics › Patience Jonathan's Rent-a-crowd Rally For 2015 Elections by simpleseyi(op): 4:13pm On Aug 15, 2013
The Nigerian women under the auspices of Nigerian Council of Women Society (NCWS) today organized a mass rally in support of the President Goodluck Jonathan towards the 2015 general election. The rally which was tagged “Celebration of Nigerian Women for Peace and Empowerment” witnessed by various women across most nigerian states was heralded by a motorized mass rally from Old Parade Ground area 10 through designated route started at 7.00am with the campaign posters of the President Goodluck Jonathan on each truck used by the women and some men.

The city of Abuja was shut down as business activities were grounded to a halt due the blockage of routes by security agencies. All roads from Berger Junction, Central Business Area, and Secretariat were blocked for the rally, which has led to the traffic snarl in the city. The rally, which is expected end at the Eagle Square later today has continued as at the time of filing this report.

Saharareporters gathered that the rally was funded by the first lady and several ministers as well as some state governors loyal to the president.

PLS IS THIS ALSO PROPAGANDA BY SAHARA REPORTERS AND APC? Pictures don't lie, check the pictures in the link below.

Shine u Eye: Click the link below to read about Tinubu.

Tinubu richest Yoruba politician
Tinubu is a thief who is supposed to be behind the bars together with gays fvcking his a-s-s every minute; however, Tinubu's mother wasn't stealing like GEJ's mother who could not afford to buy shoes for her dear son but can now afford to "donate" multi-million naira buildings to a school. Tinubu's wife wasn't going about fighting state governors; when Tinubu's wife thought that she needed some political power, she contested election and became a Senator though I have reservation about that also, but she is holding a constitutional office and not going about fighting elected governor and trying to usurp executive powers.
