I can attest to going against that rule one. I have a standard time of waking up 4:30am daily, but on weekends especially Saturdays, I stay in bed till 6 or 6.30 and normally wakes up with a head-ache. |
You may think your sleep routine is as simple as PJs on, lights out, but really, most of us are not sleeping correctly. And what's worse, letting proper sleep habits fall by the wayside is one of the easiest ways to put your health at risk. It's time for a re-education: Follow these five simple rules for better, healthier rest. Rule #1: Set a seven-days-a-week schedule. "Regularity is vital -- go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time naturally, including weekends," says Equinox advisory board member and sleep expert James B. Maas, Ph.D., author of Sleep for Success!. "You have one biological clock, not one for the work week and one for the weekend. You must synchronize the circadian sleepy phase of your biological clock with your bedtime, and the alert phase with your waking life, otherwise a yo-yo schedule will give you symptoms similar to those of jet lag -- daytime drowsiness, slow reaction time, impaired cognition, moodiness, lack of energy." To know your personal sleep time, it's suggested choosing a time that's a minimum of eight hours before you need to wake up, and following it for one week straight. Still tired? That means you need an earlier bedtime (try just 15 to 30 minutes more). Once you can get up in the morning alarm-free and feel alert most of the day, you've hit it just right. Rule #2: Cut caffeine after 2 p.m. Late afternoon is when the body has a temporary drop in focus and why the urge to have some caffeine often strikes. While a buzz will definitely perk you up, it could linger long after you've left work. "Six hours after your last sip of caffeine, it's still in your body so it's crucial to keep your daily intake at under 300 mg -- like three small cups -- and to avoid it anytime after 2 p.m.,". Rule #3: Control your body temperature. Overheating is a major sleep disruptor, (thank God we are now in the cold season). Research shows that 65 degrees is the sweet spot temperature for a good night's rest, which means you need to do you what you need to in order to keep it in check -- set your thermostat, choose a lighter blanket and PJs or use a fan if PHCN allows you; well, forget them now, we are in the cold season. Rule #4: Dim, if not ditch, your devices. As addictive as bedtime Twitter scrolling may be, it's the emitted light that's the problem. "Blue light hits the spectrum of day light -- it's an alerting mechanism -- so it's like going in the sun," Translated: It wakes you up. "Avoid any electronics at least one hour before bed so that you don't block melatonin, the sleep hormone that's secreted when you're in the dark, and delay the onset of sleep," If you can't cut the habit completely, at least dim the light on your devices until you can ease yourself off 100 percent. Rule #5: Just say no to drugs. "Prescription sleep medications can actually be really dangerous -- they can cause heart attacks, strokes and even death. According to doctor Maas "I always try to get patients off of pills." Maas says that if you think taking melatonin helps you sleep, then it probably does and regardless, it won't cause any harm. But for some, it simply isn't effective and the current research is unreliable -- some people who are given a placebo will sleep as long as those given the real thing. |
In what's being called a medical record in India, a 28-year-old woman in Madhya Pradesh miscarried 10 babies in one night this week. The Indo-Asian News Service reports that Anju Kushwaha delivered nine of the babies late Sunday night before she arrived at a hospital, where she delivered the 10th. Doctors revealed Monday that all of the babies were dead at 12 weeks. It appears fertility drugs may have contributed to Kushwaha's conception and unusually high multiple pregnancy. According to the Business Standard, doctors at the hospital said the miscarriages followed ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome -- a complication from fertility medication. "It seems that that there was no regular follow-up of her pregnancy after [in vitro fertilization]," Dr. Sumitra Yadav, a senior gynecologist, told The Times Of India. "At least three offspring could have been saved by reducing the pregnancy." While the birth of 10 children at once is rare, there have been other reported cases of doctors delivering a high number of babies in a single delivery. As Xinhua News Agency notes, a doctor in Rome claimed to have removed 15 from the womb of a 35-year-old woman in 1971. Nadya Suleman, the "Octomom" who gave birth to eight babies in 2009, currently holds the Guinness World Record for most surviving children delivered in a single birth. This young North Korean leader never seizes to amaze me. He wants to really consolidate on his hold on power and probably unleash more terror. I hope the world is watching this guy; nuclear weapon in the hands of this guy could be very dangerous.
|
The execution of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's uncle brought a swift and violent end to a man long considered the country's second most powerful. But while Jang Song Thaek is now gone, the fallout from his purge is not over. In a stunning reversal of the popular image of Jang as a mentor and father figure guiding young Kim Jong Un as he consolidated power, North Korea's state-run media on Friday announced he had been executed and portrayed him as a morally corrupt traitor who saw the death of Kim's father, Kim Jong Il, in December 2011 as an opportunity to make his own power play. The first appearance of the new narrative came out just days ago, when North Korea accused Jang, 67, of corruption, womanizing, gambling and taking drugs. It said he'd been eliminated from all his posts. Friday's allegations heaped on claims that he tried "to overthrow the state by all sorts of intrigues and despicable methods with a wild ambition to grab the supreme power of our party and state." Jang's removal leaves no clear No. 2 under Kim, whose inner circle now includes Vice Marshal Choe Ryong Hae, Premier Pak Pong Ju, and Kim Yong Nam, the ceremonial head of state. News of Jang's execution was trumpeted across the nation by North Korea's state media — with unusually vitriolic outbursts on TV, radio and in the main newspaper — as a triumph of Kim Jong Un and the ruling party over a traitor "worse than a dog" who was bent on overthrowing the government. vickyO: God bless you.Thax Vic. God bless you too. |
Pastor Olu T: Good observation and God bless u for the piece, bt seriously so much is happening here that meet the eye!my brother I agree with you that is why I thought it necessary to make my own input known no matter how inconsequencial my voice may be perceived to be. Thanks Pastor Olu T. |
Reading through most Christian threads gives one the impression that we are divided and don't speak with one voice, and a house divided against itself cannot stand. Check out the exploit of the Apostles of old; how God used them greatly, they saw themselves as one, loved and cared for each other even to the point of selling their properties and sharing the proceeds among themselves based on available needs. One say my church is the best, another say my G.O, Papa or Bishop is first among all other pastors, come to our church, THESE and THAT will happen; some say Tithe is lawful, another say it is not....... "which kind wahala be all these, no be one bible we get again!!!" Why ALL THESE CONFUSION. As I was thinking about these, I remembered Mahatma Gandhi narrated an experience he had way back then in England when he was stopped from entering a Church because of the way he was dressed; he was forced to make the following quotation after the experience " I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ". He had read a lot of the bible and the Ministry of Jesus and felt a need to be part of the family, but he got a rude shock of his life, the adherent of the faith are not anywhere near what they preach. The earlier we begin to know that we are all individually going to stand before God and give account of our individual lives the better. The G.O's, Papas, Mama's, Bishops, Deacons, Church goers will not even stand for their children. I love it how Apostle Paul puts it in his first letter to the church in Corinthians 3:6 when such divisions was in play; he said "I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, BUT GOD HAD BEEN MAKING IT GROW. That they are NOTHING but TOOLS in the hands of the Almighty God, can a hoe make a ridge without being used? What the G.O, Bishops and others have been doing all this while, is the planting and watering, God alone is the one that decides what grows. We are encouraged to cultivate a healthy relationship with our God first and then give all the necessary support and assistance to our churches and spiritual heads, because we all cannot lead, but don't make a god out of them. Give them respect due. Two men in the bible I so cherish are Daniel and Joseph. They were 2 young men during their times who entered into a very strong commitment not to defile themselves before God no matter what is. They cultivated the idea of always being in the presence of God that stood as a check against any contrary behavior that could be offensive to God. That of Daniel was so dear to me. When Daniel was praying to God about his people the Jews, the Bible made me to understand that the Lord sent an angel to Daniel, when the angel came; he told Daniel that the moment he started to pray, the Lord sent an answer immediately BECAUSE he was GREATLY ESTEEMED before God, and when I check the word esteemed in the dictionary, I got blown away. How many of us with all these argument we put up daily about our churches and the various doctrine practiced or not practiced can make God to boast about us today. Apart from some few characters in the Bible, what I discovered about many people God used for His exploits never really ask to be GREAT. They simply WALK with God and WORK for God and God who ruled in the kingdoms of men (ask King Nebuchadnezzar) knows how to place His own. How many of us whom God has prospered with the ability to give to our Parents, give with the mindset of receiving something in return from them, that is exactly how we have chosen to operate with God. Don't get me wrong, only a dead man is without any expectation, but in a situation where we are encouraged to basically "tie all our givings to what we expect expect God to do for us", creates frustration in the hearts of those whose expectations may not have been met after tieing those givings to their expectations, remember God sees the motive behind every actions and when the motives becomes selfish, God alone knows what to do. There is something that I believe in, If you make a commitment today between YOURSELF and GOD and you are sincere in carrying it out to the latter that you will use majority of your income to support the church, take care of some orphans or to help the needy, some how...some how, God knows how to take care of your needs. Religion may have become an opium for you, it is not too late to make a U-turn and start developing that personal relationship with God, the peace of mind you will get is nothing you can ever imagined is possible. Like the Three Hebrew boys in the bible; Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who in the face of death reaffirmed their conviction about the saving power of the Almighty God thus confirming the word in Isaiah 26:3 "You will keep in perfect peace those whose mind are steadfast, because they trust in you" and Daniel 11:32b "But the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits" God is no respecter of persons, whoever that decide to seek Him will find Him. Let us put a stop to all these accusation and counter accusation we carry about ourselves, we are ONE; NOW is, when true worshipers will worship the father in spirit and truth; for such PEOPLE the father seeks to be His worshipers. |
I just do not understand why we just choose to creat more confusion within our fold rather than being the light the world should be looking at for its direction. The first mention of speaking in other tongues was recorded in Acts of the Apostles, and from what I got there basically hinges on the fact to show unbelievers the greatness of God because men who before that time could not say a word or two of a foreign language suddenly began to speak that language by way of worship to God telling of His wonderous works. Its like a native fulani man who knew next to nothing of French began to worship God in the presence of some French buddies who knew for sure that the Fulani man could not say jack in French. This act ordinarily brings men to salvation, bicos it takes only God to perform such feat. Speaking in tongues is a sign to unbelievers and not to prove your level spirituality, this is now like competition in our churches....this is sad. Before i forget, why is it that what happened when the apostles gathered and spoke in other languages and people from that part of the world present understood and confirmed could not be replicated today. What we see now are people gathered who are urged to say what ever that comes thru their mouth, we should stop deceiving ourselves and desist from taking over what clearly is the work of the Holy Spirit. |
@ Pastor Olu T. I totally agree with you. We mortals most times wants to assume to always be in-charge and finds it difficult to accept that we are accountable to a Superior being somewhere somehow irrespective of our different religious convictions. As we age, it begins to dawn on us that they may just be a life after the NOW. |
DK Jaleel: i surely do feel uncomfortable cos, aside from the noise they make with their bells, the so called gospel is so full of lies and deceit, forbids one from thinking logically and utilizing fear as its fuel..just wondering. How do you know what is preached is full of lies. I believe one thing, If you hold on to what you believe in, irrespective of what others say; true or not, hold on to your conviction. For the noise you complained about made by the bell or mic used, both christain and islam are guilty of that. |
I was in Apo mechanic village in Abuja this morning to do a minor repair on my car and beside me was seated under a shade a very huge man also waiting for his car to be fix. Not far from us was a man preaching the good news of Jesus about the consequencies of not repenting that could lead to spending eternity in hell if you happen to die a sinner. The preacher went on further to say God in an instance would destroy the whole world with everything in it. This one got the man seated by me so....so uncomfortable and he muttered some words under his breath.... I beg make God no do am o....! Oga why na.. I ask; he never answered me. He could not bear hearing the words of the preacher any further i guessed, he left quitely and said.. O boy make i check something for corner.....he never came back. The question now is, do you feel uncomfortable hearing a preacher preach the gospel of christ especially that one you hear around your neibourhood while you are still on your bed very early in the morning. |
let him be careful o! In other not to be swallowed up by fish. |

I was watching the live rocket launch to Mars by NASA to determine if any kind of life existed there on that Planet on Aljazeera Cable Network yesterday; this got my wondering about the Awesomeness of God Almighty. According to NASA, the rocket is expected to travel for 10 MONTHS before it could get to Mars. Taking into consideration the speed associated with rocket, this is HUGE. And here is the Almighty God who spoke into existence all that we see, and all he spoke about appeared in an instance. God is HUGE, worship HIM, Praise HIM. If you come to know HIM, (as Daniel would say in Daniel 11:32b; those who know their God shall be be strong and do exploits) nothing you see or here that so easily make others to quiver can move you, and as the Psalmist would also say; Those whose mind are fixed on the lord shall not be afraid of evil report Psalm 112:7. How AWESOME is the Almighty GOD. |
me i will simply walk away. What's this thing about women and their pot self. Person no go touch pot if person hungry again. I donot see that special attachment of woman and pot in my wife sha. |
Sicozone: Someone should come and tell me this is an 'act of God'.......this is a TRAGEDY.....RIP to the dead souls....it's an of God. My condolences to the family. |
These boys are simply delightful. O boy! See free flowing football. Well done boys. Congratulations Nigeria. How I wish we can replicate this in all facets of our nationhood; what potent force we have become. |
Good step my brother. I would rather eat 20k extended as a gift with rest of mind than stolen 800k. The book of Proverbs says "Stolen bread is sweet but it will soon turn to Gravel in your month. Well done again Bro ![]() |

The love affair with the married man starts with a man who married for the wrong reasons and thus never truly felt fulfilled in his commitment to the wife. They probably have kids together and that is the only bond they share. The ideal woman for this guy is the girl who has been hurt many times by single men and is in the stage where she just wants someone to love her. After they meet and exchange conversation, he realizes what he has been missing at home and decides to pursue his happiness with her on the side. The cycle of the love affair with a married man almost always ends in broken hearts, hurt, and wasted time. Sure you have those once in a million times where the man actually leaves his wife for another, but for the most part, it is a script for adultery disaster. Have your say. |
So every single guy you start dating ends up being a jerk, huh? They cheat on you; they cut and run after just a few weeks, or after a few promising months they announce that they’re not ready for a relationship. So you sit there and bemoan your poor, pitiful dating life and wonder why – why? – You can’t meet any good guys. Well, here’s the thing: you do meet good guys. And then you go on to ignore them in favor of the bad boy who has a reputation, because you just know that the magic of your love will change him. Or you refuse to take a look in the mirror to figure out why every guy you date runs away as fast as his feet can take him. You come on too strong, you’re too clingy, you’re too needy. Heck, maybe it’s all of the above. If every single guy that you date ends up being someone that you label as a jerk and a heart-breaker, well, the problem isn't everybody else. You can lie to yourself and say that you just can’t meet any good guys, but they’re out there all right. You just ignore them, put them in the “friend zone,” or scare them away with your psychotic, desperate behavior. Guy and girl meet. They exchange numbers, go on a date or two, and really hit it off. Sparks are flying, guy says all the right things, and girl thinks he might be the one. So what does she do? She hops into bed with him, thinking that sex will seal the deal… and their budding romance will turn into a full-blown exclusive relationship. Unfortunately for girl, guy is just happy to score, and that magical night of passion will do absolutely nothing to convince guy to stick around. Now he’s even more likely to bolt, having already gotten what he wants out of her. Meanwhile, she’s telling herself that having sex with him after two dates was totally a good idea, because he liked her so much. In reality, having sex with a guy right away is never a good idea. You don’t need to sleep with someone in order to make your bond stronger. If you do have this amazing connection, then you don’t need sex to solidify it. And if he’s any kind of decent man who is actually interested in you, then he’ll wait anyway. Given the anguish that attends a failed relationship, it makes sense that women have devised a series of face-saving explanations. All begin with the staple: all men are jerks. Perhaps all the men you are choosing are jerks, but if that are the case, then you are choosing the wrong men. There are good men out there. Unfortunately, women who have followed the modern dating plan are more likely to go with their hearts and guts than with their heads. If they have involved themselves in hookups or friends with benefits relationships they have been traumatized to the point where they continue to be attracted to the same kind of man, over and over again. Women who have suffered a series of relationship failures have learned how to deal with relationship failure. They have not, however, learned how to conduct a successful relationship. Women rationalize their bad decision by saying, that their love can transform a man from a frog into a prince. It cannot. Get over yourself. |
There are perhaps a million reasons why single women are plagued with relationship obstacles. Therapists often cite "Daddy Issues" as a reason for the problems that some women have with men. Most will agree that the kind of relationship a woman has with her father plays heavily into the romantic decisions she makes as an adult. But not all Daddy Issues are the same. 1. The Absent Father: Relationship Problem: Hidden Resentment Against Men. The Absent Father is perhaps the most popular problem that many children are faced with. In this case, the daughter knows who her father is, but has little to no contact with him. Maybe Dad died when she was very young. Maybe relations between the parents were so strained that communication with Dad is non-existent. More often than not, the absent father is the subject of resentment by one or more parties in the household. As a result, some women grow up believing that men are "supposed" to abandon their families. They enter relationships with a defensive approach to love. 2. The Absentee Father: Relationship Problem: Confused Expectations. In this scenario, the father lived in the household with his family, but was often emotionally or physically missing a good deal of the time. Men who travel extensively or work long hours usually have less time to spend with their offspring. These dads sometimes make up for their shortcomings by providing material things instead of bonding emotionally with their daughters. Like girls raised with absent fathers, these women frequently grow up with a skewed perspective of the male role in households. Some women ultimately seek out men who are emotionally distant. Others may send mixed messages to their significant others---a caveat to any smooth romance. 3. The Missing Father: Relationship Problem: "Overcompensation" This is the dad who simply was non-existent. Some little girls have no idea what their fathers look like. Some don't even know their names. In any case, the missing father can cause just as many issues as the dad who was in the house each and every day. Having a great big Question Mark for a dad can have all sorts of effects. Promiscuity and/or relaxed boundaries are just a few of the results of dealing with a Missing Father. The circumstances surrounding the dad who just "doesn't exist" usually dictate how a woman feels about men as romantic partners. Feelings of abandonment may prompt a woman to "overcompensate" in various ways for her father's absence. 4. The "Terrible" Dad: Relationship Problem: Extreme Mistrust. Then there is the father who made life for his child a living hell. Usually, these relationships are so dysfunctional that even after therapy, the scars are still tender. Any kind of tension or abuse has the potential to completely derail an otherwise normal dating existence. A woman who harbors negative feelings for her father will more than likely carry some of these emotions over into her love life. These women distrust men, and often enter romances from a defensive position. 5. The Overly Doting Dad: Relationship Problem: Sense of Self-Entitlement On the other end of the spectrum is the dad who took the phrase "Daddy's Little Girl" a bit too far. Nothing Daddy's little girl could do could ever upset the doting father. As such, these little princesses sometimes grow up to become what the world likes to call spoil brats. This assessment may not be entirely fair. But some women who have been over-indulged by their fathers are very difficult to please; no man they encounter can compete with the extravagant treatment they've received. These women may even find that their social/domestic skills have been hindered as a result. |

Do you believe in love at first sight? Many people have varying degrees of acceptance when it comes to this kind of love because, quite frankly, it’s rather shallow. But what does one feel when they experience this? |
Do you think you’re falling out of love? Find out how you may be building yourself to failure in love and what you can do to avoid losing love. I’m not a cynic and I’ve never been one to frown on love; but girls in the world, have grown up believing in fairytales and hoping for Prince Charming to come and sweep me off my feet. Over the years, my notions of love still remain the same and I have watched romantic movies that glorify a “happily ever after” and cry shamelessly when they don’t. But in reality, things are far from rosy and you soon learn the bitter truth about dear love. Countless times, as a new love beckons, ladies are most times convinced that he is “the one”, the soul mate that was created for them. However, they soon learn that they were wrong and back to square one. Again! Falling out of love and Falling in love is very easy; and falling out of it is even easier. The start of a relationship is always the finest hour of romance. It’s the magic of first moments, the time when you love every little thing about your partner, including the annoying habits. Romantic gestures, soft whispers of undying love and the compelling need to be with each other are all the symptoms. But it doesn’t last for long and you’re left wondering how it all changed. Where is the love that once existed and was so prominent in everything you did or said? Where has it vanished? The real truth about the first few months of love is that we’re only infatuated be each other. It’s only the first phase of what we identify as love. The question of love doesn’t even enter the relationship until you really get to know each other, build a relationship and see if the two of you are compatible enough or not. Strong emotions and affections can’t be determined by a single look or a mere week of being with one another. There goes your theory of it-was-love-at-first-sight, doesn’t it? But it’s the truth. All love at first sights is just infatuations. Once the infatuation stage is over and you’re familiar with the person, the feeling of excitement and giddiness eventually rubs away, and all of a sudden, those same habits that you so sweetly endured become excruciatingly annoying. We have all been in a relationship that didn’t last for as long as we would have liked it to. Even though we wanted the feeling to last forever, things just changed over time, didn’t it? With each passing day, your love for each other seems to wane and gradually disappear right before your eyes. But being “in love” is a tricky business. There are millions of guidelines to follow, promises to keep and pitfalls to watch out for. You just cannot simply savor the essence of love peacefully without a few hindrances. How did you end up falling out of love? To begin with, perhaps you were never really in love in the first place. Maybe it was just an infatuation. Or perhaps, once the veil of infatuation was removed from over your eyes, you eventually realized that your partner is not the right one for you. There could be numerous reasons and it could be silly, and some may be really genuine. But the bottom line stays the same. You’re falling out of love and you can’t do a thing about it. At the beginning of a relationship, the clouds are under your feet, the world is all flowery and great, the sun shines brighter and the person you’re with seems to be the best person in the whole world. When we’re infatuated, we’re all in our best exaggerated self and put our best foot forward. Then comes the part where we indulge in romantic gestures and sweet sacrifices only to prove our love for the other person. We do things for each other to show that we care and love the person. Now this is when we start expecting the other person to respond similarly to us. We feel that it is only right that the other person should also fulfill our needs and desires. But it’s never a guarantee whether the other person will have the heart to understand our emotions or not. Disappointment slowly seeps in and one starts withdrawing from the other. Eventually, tantrums start to surface and soon it’s the first fight and then some more, until both of you are no longer on talking to each other. Reasons for falling out of love: There are many reasons behind why couples fall out of love with each other, or end up getting attracted to some other person. But almost always, it starts with these reasons. 1. Falling in love too fast. It takes time to fall in love. But some people have a tendency to fall in love easily. It usually takes less than a minute to determine whether we like a person or not. But a lot more time should be taken to decide whether we love a person or not. Falling in love should include getting to know the core of the person and building a compatible equation between each other, and shouldn't involve just the simple act of getting attracted to each other. Just take a look at celebrities. True love is announced within days of spending time with each other and a whirlwind romance starts until it ends in divorce, sometimes less than a few months later. 2. Great expectations. We all desire to find partners with the perfect qualities. But when you seek perfection in a relationship, you’re building something up to doom. The more we expect, the more we get disappointed. It’s human nature to never be satisfied and to want more. Besides the physical quality, there are a whole lot of things we look for in a mate. And when you don’t find those qualities in your partner, you still may love your partner but just not as much. But that doesn't mean you should accept mediocrity. It only means you get what you give. If you expect a perfect partner, you have to be willing to be the perfect partner in all ways too. 3. Getting back to reality. Once the stage of infatuation is over, you begin to realize that the world isn't all that rosy and your love isn't as pretty as it once seemed. When the shine of new love begins to wear off, you see what is underneath the façade and most times, it’s not a pleasant sight. Besides love, relationships require work, effort and action, and many people are just not prepared for that. 4. When priorities start to change. As time passes by, people in relationships change. Along with change, priorities also start to change and we start to put other things before love. When you’re with somebody for a long time and you don’t get the same attention from them as you used to, problems will begin to arise. When you resent change, you’d start to resent your partner and ultimately, the love starts to crumble away. 5. Loss of chemistry. Chemistry is what makes a relationship so exciting. In the beginning, every relationship is full of creative chemistry! Work and other commitments sometimes take a backseat to this chemistry, and you’d have a hard time thinking of anything other than your sweetheart. But this doesn't always last forever. As chemistry fizzles out, most relationships follow suit too. Are you confused about whether you’re in love or falling out of love? Sometimes, you may assume your partner is falling out of love when they really aren't. And at other times, you may need a few signs to realize that you’re not in love anymore. Read these tell all signs over and over on how to know if you are not in love anymore to find the truth for yourself. And in a few minutes, you may actually understand whether there’s love in the air or not. Falling out of love is natural and something all of us may come to face. But it’s still a choice. You can choose to save your relationship. Or give it up and move on with the hope of greener pastures ![]() |
Men and women think along the same lines when it comes to many things. But marriage is not one of them. Well, at least in most cases. For most women, marriage comes naturally when they meet the man of their dreams. For most men, marriage comes naturally only when they feel like getting married. This little difference in the way both sexes think can at times cause more than just a few misunderstandings. How to get him to propose to you If you want to get him to propose to you, talk about it! It really is the easiest way forward. After all, both of you have been dating each other for a while, haven’t you? In a good relationship, both partners have to learn to communicate their wants and desires with each other without really holding back. Is he ready for marriage in the first place? If you don’t want to put any pressure on him and want to understand what he may be thinking, here are a few things to watch out for: 1. Men have to be mentally ready. Your man has to be mentally prepared to propose and move into the next stage of his life. No one can make up his mind for him, not you or anyone else. It’s a thought that’ll strike him just like a bolt of lightning when he least expects it, and just like that, he’ll be ready to get married. 2. Men wait for the right time. Men have a right time for everything in their life, at least most well organized men do. During one of your weekend conversations with him, find out what his goals in life are. Once you hear his dreams, it’ll help you understand his priorities and realize when his right time to get married is. 3. He learns from his friends. Men think they can never be manipulated. But in reality, they’re constantly manipulated by people in their lives, discreetly or otherwise. Take a good look at his friends. Are they married? Do you know their opinions on marriage? If all his friends are single, big chances are, he won’t be ready for marriage too. He may love you, but he may not be ready just yet to love you as a wife. Things to remember if you want him to propose to you: Just like that fabled phrase, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink. If he’s not ready, he’s not. Here are a few things you should keep in mind while trying to subtly convince him to go down on one knee. 1. Don’t change yourself. Don’t withhold something just to punish him. You’d be behaving like a child. Really, do you want him to propose to you happily or do you want to arm twist him, gag him and shove marital bliss down his throat? 2. Avoid giving ultimatums. It’ll never work. On the other hand, it might just backfire and force him to harden his stance on not getting married just yet. 3. Don’t panic. When it happens, it will. If he feels like he’s ready to propose marriage to you, he will. 4. Tell him how you feel. If you can’t stop panicking, tell your boyfriend how you really feel. Tell him you’re really happy with him and your life, but are afraid of the future because you have no idea what could happen. Additionally, tell him that your life seems too good to be true, like a happy bubble that may burst anytime. If he has any sense, he’ll know it’s time for him to make some assurances to you. 5. The last resort. Don’t hide your emotions or play with words. Tell him exactly how you feel. Tell him you feel like the relationship is not moving forward. No guy who really loves you would make you feel like you’re hanging by a thread all the time. And if he really does love you, he won’t be upset to hear that. Instead, he’ll say something that makes you feel better. 6. If he gets upset. If he retaliates badly, it only means he’s just not ready to commit no matter what you or anyone else says. A guy may truly love you, but he may not be interested in marriage. Can you deal with that? If you can’t handle that, and are really serious about getting married soon, it’s probably time to ask yourself if you’re with the right guy for you. Here are a few subtle moves to help him see that a life with you as a wife can only make life a lot better and happier for him. You can’t buckle his knees for him, but you can definitely help him see that you’re the perfect wife he could ask for with these tips. 1. Be the perfect girlfriend for your boyfriend. Let him realize that he’s got all he needs in a perfect wife in you. 2. Take your boyfriend out with your married friends. Spend holidays or go out occasionally with a few of your happily married friends. Let him see how happy marital life can be so he’ll realize that he has nothing to fear. 3. He has to like your family, and you definitely have to like his. Take time to know his family and get along with them. Likewise, he has to know your family and feel comfortably happy around them. 4. Make long term plans together. Talk about buying a house, a pet, or investing together. While this may not make him go on one knee, it’ll at least reveal his acceptance of seeing both of you as a couple for years and decades. 4. Don’t get too comfortable. Don’t settle into the serious boyfriend-girlfriend lifestyle and ignore your friends and your own life. Have your own life and your own ambitions so he knows you can live without him. It’s a subtle way of letting him know that you don’t need him to live your life. Men always like to feel like they’re being depended on, which makes them feel more in control of the relationship and the direction it takes. 5. Have your own friends of both sexes. Always make him feel secure, but drop a few hints about all the other guys who are vying for your attention. Guys have a tendency of taking things for granted easily. By letting him know that there are a hundred other guys who would be happy to take his place, you’re letting him know that as much as you love him and care for him, you’re still not a pushover. A guy will realize your value only when he feels like you’re a prize that’s being fought over. 6. Look after him. Make him a better man. Let him genuinely see that he’s helpless without you and your advice. As manly as men may seem, they always need a shoulder to lean on now and then. He’ll truly understand how much he needs you in his life when you support him and stand up for him. Things you need to remember: If you’re wondering how to get him to propose to you soon, here are a few things you need to remember. After all, you are an individual, not just his arm candy. 1. Your boyfriend doesn’t own you or control you. He is no one to make you feel ecstatic or down in the dumps by the way he behaves. If you really want him to propose to you, tell him straight that you’d like the relationship to take the next step. You’re both equal partners in a relationship, after all. And you definitely have a right to your own happiness and your future together with him. 2. He may be using you. Your boyfriend may have unrealistic expectations. Is he really happy with you or could he just be using you to bide his time? If he gets upset while talking about the future of the relationship, think twice about whether you should still stay in love with him. 3. Listen to his explanations. Don’t argue with each other. Instead, try to understand each other’s perspective. Your man may have his reasons for putting the talk on marriage on hold for his own reasons. Understand his perspectives and voice your concerns. If true love exists, true love will triumph without any hitches. Use these tips on how to get him to propose to help him realize how important you are in his life and to understand that commitment and marriage is only the next happy step in love. |
No biggie! I will not be angry at all. It has happened to me several times. If the man has an ulterior motive for his holding action, that is just his business; he alone is only going to suffer the consequencies of his lust actions, because after all the holding of hands, na me go carry my wife go. |
