Sorry just seeing your reply. Well the law span a whole areas of the Jewish daily life. They are in categories, singling out
just 5 as requested will do us no good. You can still make your point regarding what you may have

- the Ten Commandments

- Moral laws - on murder, theft, honesty, adultery, etc.

- Social laws - on property, inheritance, marriage and divorce,

- Food laws - on what is clean and unclean, on cooking and storing food.

- Purity laws - on menstruation, seminal emissions, skin disease and mildew, etc.

- Feasts - the Day of Atonement, Passover, Feast of Tabernacles, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Feast of Weeks etc.

- Sacrifices and offerings - the sin offering, burnt offering, whole offering, heave offering, Passover sacrifice, meal offering, wave offering, peace offering, drink offering, thank offering, dough offering, incense offering, red heifer, scapegoat, first fruits, etc.

- Instructions for the priesthood and the high priest including tithes ( the part I love).

- Instructions regarding the Tabernacle, and which were later applied to the Temple in Jerusalem, including those concerning the Holy of Holies containing the Ark of the Covenant (in which were the tablets of the law, Aaron's rod, the manna). Instructions and for the construction of various altars.

I do understand, they may possibly be others smart enough to do irrigation then, but their plants
may not do well. Remember these sayings: where others say there is a casting down, you will say there is a lifting up. Two persons doing the same thing may not necessarily receive the same result. If God's favour is on you; you may well be better positioned than others.

Gen 26:18-19 And Isaac digged again the wells of water... And Isaac's servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.

Gen 26:21-22 And they digged another well... And he removed from thence, and digged another well...

Gen 26:25 And he built an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac's servants digged a well.

Gen 26:32 And it came to pass the same day, that Isaac's servants came, and told him concerning the well which they had digged, and said unto him, We have found water.

In the Word of God, Egypt is always a type of the world. Repeatedly we are admonished throughout the Word of God not to go to the world, nor depend on the world for our deliverance when things are tough. Yet this seems to be exactly what Abraham did during the time of famine.

I have never heard one preacher or teacher give a plausible explanation of this apparent contradiction concerning Abraham. Abraham went down to Egypt during the time of famine and God blessed him there to the point that Abraham returned to Canaan a very rich man.

It seems to contradict every other teaching regarding reliance upon the world system taught in the Word of God. Thank God for the Holy Ghost, our Teacher.

Remember, it is not by formula that we prosper, but rather by finding out the plan of God for each generation and flowing with that plan. God wanted Abraham to go to Egypt because He wanted Abraham to see something there.

Notice that during all of these famines, Egypt nearly always had excess crops. Why? Egypt is a very arid land and seldom receives sufficient rainfall to produce good harvests. The Egyptians had long since mastered the art of irrigation. The land of Egypt was blessed with the Nile River, which has it's headwaters deep in the mountains of Africa. Drought in Egypt did not affect the Nile because the source of its flow was in Africa.

God wanted Abraham to observe how the Egyptians irrigated their crops. You could put it this way: While Abraham was in Egypt he had the opportunity to observe the "cutting edge" of technology regarding crop irrigation in an arid land. I am sure, to Abraham, this technology was interesting but he could see no application for it in the land of Canaan. After all, Canaan had no Nile River from which to irrigate, and you certainly cannot use saltwater from the Dead Sea nor the Ocean.

The law was still in effect as long as Jesus was alive physically then. God seeking worshippers of spirit and truth is also applicable to money. No compulsion needed. Let your committment be to God and God alone. If He put it in your mind to give all; give all. The way we give gifts or money to our parents to some of us who have gotten to that state without expecting anything in return but done with joy and excitement, should also be replicated when we give towards the things of God. The over emphasy on tithing has made our motives of giving criminal. Thank God, He knows the motives of the hearts of men. We have just turned this whole thing to kalo kalo.

my exact thought. In the verses above down to verse 29, you can see the exact mindset of God concerning tithe. From the verses, you could see clearly that God instructed the Isrealites to eat the tithe in His presence. In another portion in Deutronomy or Numbers; I cannot place the chapters now, God instructed the Isrealites to sell their tithe if the temple is far away from where they live, and if they get to the temple, they are at liberty to buy whatever their heart desires and eat it in His presence. I just look forward to the day, members in churches would be told to buy whatever they desire with the 10% of their income and eat it in God's presence in the church. What has been established over time in chuches is guilt giving. People should allow themselves to be led by the spirit to give. If you have a conviction today to give your whole salary in support of what the spirit put in your heart to do, God is able to make all sufficiency available.

Please can you expand it further? How did the convenant make Isaac's own farmland to produce so well in the absence of rain during a famine?

Why was it not made clear how God performed this miracle? Was it actually a miracle?

You may have been taught that this passage means, 'give bigger offerings to God when things are tough'. Was this what Isaac did?

It is critical to point out that this is not a formula. Hearing God's voice and flowing with his overall plan for each generation is critical. Famine was occurring in Canaan during Isaac's day just like it had in his father Abraham's.

No doubt his thinking went something like this; "We are in famine. My father Abraham fled to Egypt during famine and God blessed him there. If I flee to Egypt, God will bless me there."

Isaac was following in his father's footsteps when the Lord appeared to him in the city of Gerar.

Up to this point, Isaac was going by formula. But when the Lord appeared to him, he said He did not want Isaac to go to Egypt, but rather to stay in Canaan and the Lord promised to bless him there (where famine was raging). The Lord was doing a different thing in Isaac's day than Abraham's and it was critical to flow with His plan. The same is true for every generation.

How did God caused Isaac's crops to grow during the famine when nobody else's would. Obviously, there was no rain. That's what was causing the famine.

Did God cause it to rain only on Isaac's crops and nowhere else? Or, did He miraculously cause his crops to grow without rain at all? What did God do or prompted Isaac to do?

Maybe you've seen on TV: Some preachers promise that if you follow their teachings, and give money to their ministries, that God will make you rich. In fact, some folks preach about money so much that they can make you think that the only reason to follow God is that He will make you wealthy if you do.

Spend enough time talking about God and money, and you’re bound to encounter these ideas. Collectively, they’re known as the “Prosperity Gospel,” and they can be incredibly polarizing. Some Christians stake their entire financial lives around the teachings of prosperity preachers. Others can’t stand the sight of these guys, and denounce them as heretics. And many people outside of the Kingdom of God use prosperity preachers to make a case that all of Christianity is a fraud.

So, where is the truth in all of this? After all, God does say in His word that He wants us to prosper. And yet, the teachings of prosperity preachers often smack of hair grease and smarmy platitudes. So what should you really believe?

Start with this: The word of God is absolute, but the Gospel is more than money.

In general, I take a pretty cautious view of the Prosperity Gospel. It’s not that the Bible doesn't teach prosperity; it’s just that it teaches us so much more than that. The great failing of the Prosperity Gospel is that it reduces Christianity to an investment scheme or a financial transaction.
Much of the substance of prosperity teachings is based on principles that are actually found in scripture. God is a good father who knows how to give good gifts to his children. God promises to bless those of us who give to His Kingdom. And if we’re faithful to follow God’s commandments and precepts, He will instruct us in paths that lead to prosperity.

Unfortunately, too many prosperity teachings twist these principles, take them out of context or blow them out of proportion. Some people teach that simply by following God, we are destined for riches. Others say that if we want financial prosperity, we simply need to exercise the correct level of faith to “name it and claim it.” Still others suggest that we can reach prosperity by simply giving to their ministries, or by always blessing others. All too often, these preachers neglect to teach what the Bible says about financial responsibility, stewardship, wisdom, character, diligence and hard work.

Not everything that a prosperity teacher says is wrong. You have to draw your own conclusions on that, using the word of God as your guide to evaluate the things that you hear. But the point been made here is this: Beware of anyone that boils the Gospel down to money. Because the Gospel is so much more than that.

You can’t buy salvation, and salvation doesn't guarantee you money. In the New Testament, there were rich Christians and poor Christians. And while early church leaders like Paul did teach people to be generous and wise with their money, they were much more concerned with seeing the Kingdom of God grow larger than seeing its members grow wealthier.

What is the Gospel about? It’s about the fact that we were created by a God that loves us, but our own rebellion and sin separated us from Him. It’s about the fact that He chose to take on human flesh, to live on Earth with us and to experience our sufferings. It’s about the fact that He lived a perfect life, and yet died a criminal’s death in our stead. It’s about the fact that He overcame death, rising again from the grave, and conquered sin so that all of us might be reunited to Him. The Gospel isn't about making poor men rich; it’s about making dead men live.

If you believe that God has called you to a life of prosperity, then be encourage to work hard, give generously and model godly prosperity in everything that you do. But remember, you weren't saved by your money, and God didn't save you to make you wealthy. He saved you because He loves you. The Gospel is about the love of our Father and the great lengths that He went to in order to bring us back to Him.
You can’t put a price on the value of a human soul, and you can’t attach an amount to the power of the Gospel. Anyone who tries isn't really preaching the Gospel at all.
