Crime / Armed Men Storm Bank, Kill Customer, Cart Away Cash In Bayelsa by Sinistami(m): 12:08pm On Jul 04, 2020 |
Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers on Friday attacked a new generation bank in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital, killed a customer. According to an eyewitness, the middle aged man was leaving the bank with a bag suspected to contain money, when the masked gunmen alighted from a car and started shooting sporadically. The man who had already entered a waiting tricycle on sighting the gunmen alighted and ran inside the nearby bush, where the gunmen shot him and made away with the money. Although, the armed security attached to the bank and nearby banks responded with scary shots, but could not hit target due to the huge crowd at the bank premise. The victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa, where he was confirmed death. The police spokesman in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat confirmed the incident, saying the command had launched a manhunt for the gunmen. He said: “The unfortunate incident occurred on 3 July, 2020 at about 10:00 hours, at the premises of a new generation bank in Yenagoa when a customer was accosted by unknown gunmen after he withdrew money. “The armed robbers who came in a black Toyota Camry car accosted the customer one Emmanuel Omomo ‘m’ when he came out of the Bank after making the withdrawals, shot him, collected all the money in his possession and zoomed off. “The victim was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa where he was confirmed dead. Investigation is ongoing,” he said. |

Hunchogee: Well cultured kehh?! No be the same Uyo I de stay? You're saying most of those hardened cult guys in PH are Akwa Ibomites? I'm not going to even talk about Cali, maybe only in Cali but not in PH. If you're well cultured you wouldn't join cult. The thing is that AKS boys don't have that driving force in them. If you look at Bayelsa and PH, before cultism came to be there, there was excess millitancy with the indigenes fighting the government. Things like Bayelsa crisis, Odi crisis, Warri crisis were there before. Those things had militarized the people before this do called cultism. It was just like adding butter to the bread. It has nothing to do with Uyo boys being well cultured they don't just posses the motivation. |

Vanzcharles: Uyo is close to PH though and yes I've noticed this PH influence in the town because of mass influx of PH based students to University of Uyo. But to me Uyo is still very very peaceful despite what you said about 40 cult gangs in the city. When I first arrived I was shocked I could walk around by 12 am without anybody telling me who goes there? Unlike my home state Bayelsa. 10 Likes |

But really, why are Aiye members so loud most of the time. I just remembered something that happened 2017 to me and one of my friends. My friend was a Benin guy he just moved to Yenagoa that year with his auntie who was a tailor. This my guy always bragged to me that he was Aiye. When I advice him that he shouldn't do that here in Bayelsa he'll say "Bayelsa no ruff na! Go Benin you go see things, who get liver say e wan hold me!" I'll just say OK o.. His auntie's shop was in my neighborhood, Amarata, in a street called Ebis street. Now that street was conquered by the Debam (Bobos) and and the next street was ruled by the Icelanders, Ompadec street. In Ompadec street was a football field called Ompadec field. Despite my warnings this my guy would always go play football in that field wearing his yellow socks. One particular day after his team had trashed the other team 3:1 he began doing his normal bragging. "clear road o!" Your man even nack egede joins sef. Now although there were little to no Aiye movement in Yenagoa, we knew what Egede was. A certain Icelander, a cousin of mine now saw him and started the normal interrogation. "Who goes you" and all. Instead of this my friend to lay low he began saying "Omo na egede o!" No be chais, before I know, Niggis don lap. All what I could here was "Goes dia?" "Who be this man?" "Stack am stand. " kpa kpa kpa.. Dem root out Kala for my man o... No be small beg wen I beg. I just thank God say dem point 1(Number one man) na my cousin. Dem just order im driling then leave am. My cousin then told me that he was lucky that they haven't been no single beef between Aiye and Icelanders, whether in Amassoma or PH. If not he would have been a goner. Since then my man no de brag again. E don cool down pass water wen dem put for for fridge. Now I don find out say e no be Aiye sef. Na just cruise. 43 Likes |

Hello people, I'm from Yenagoa Bayelsa. I grew up there although I was born in the city of Portharcourt. Well I'll be moving to Portharcourt again and I've heard people say things like Portharcourt is not much different from Yenagoa only more developed and populated. Is that really true. I've in PH before though but never got the chance to revel in the so called PH vibes. Can anyone here enlighten me. |

midnighter: Damn this post is old I've forgotten when I typed it Sha. Any way let me answer you. The thing is, that's the problem. It's not impossible. What I'm saying is the character of christ is very similar to characters created by older religions, way older with same story, same technique and going by your words they might have came up with similar character, what makes you feel your christ too wasn't just made up too? I'm reasoning perfectly, thank you. Check what you wrote up there and come back. |
Crime / Employee Commits Suicide In Bayelsa After Losing Boss’ N150,000 Sport Betting. by Sinistami(m): 12:03pm On Jun 21, 2020 |
Simon Utebor, Yenagoa A 28-YEAR-OLD man, identified simply as Suga, has committed suicide in Bayelsa State. Suga, who hailed from Nembe Local Government Area of the state, allegedly poisoned himself with a substance suspected to be Sniper (insecticide) after using his boss’ money worth N150,000 to play bet9ja virtual games. It was learnt that he killed himself on Wednesday after staking a variant of bet9ja popularly called ‘Ogbu ngwa ngwa’, which literally translates as ‘it kills quicker than normal football matches’. This virtual game is said to last less than two minutes and one either wins or loses and it is controlled by computers as programmed. A community source, who craved anonymity, said Suga used to run a Bet9ja shop for his unnamed boss in Bassambiri Nembe area of the state. Read Also: Malami, NHRC boss seek stronger laws against rape, SGBV The source said the money the deceased used to play the virtual bets was meant for the day’s work. The source stated: “Suga, not knowing how to explain the situation to his boss, made him to take his own life.” Suga’s death is said to have increased the number of people who have died from betting and gambling since last year in the state to three. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa State Command, Mr Asinim Butswat, said though the police were aware of the incident, the matter was not officially reported. “The Divisional Police Officer of Bassambri Nembe said the incident was not reported officially to the police. He, however, said they heard about the incident,” the spokesman stated. |

Passionate888: Oh if you just called Bayelsa BY then truly you be Southside pikin. Well these days a lot of gangs are being referred to as cult groups and vice versa because nowadays all they do is the same :wreck havoc. In the past two years a lot of groups have sprang up that don't follow the basic structure of confra like having a God they need to follow like Odin, Ogor, Okorofo etc. Gangs like the Chineke boys are jusr made up of 12 to highest 18 year Olds who right now don't have what it takes to go against the green landers or Icelanders etc so they just merry, steal and pay Salama to the stronger cult group. |
