these Greenlanders,Icelanders, redskins e.t.c u mentioned are they like different from each other or what, why so many offshoots...... I taught JVC was the junior

I don't really know much about the Red skins but I do know about the Green landers and Icelanders. Both are offshoots of the vikings. The JVC or De well was formed as a result of the SVC trying to rival the Debam nowadays known as the Bobos who were actually another splinter group from the Klansmen of Unical as a street and creek wing of their university counterparts, the KKK or Klans men of calabar. These groups wanted to get their own piece of the oil money through bunkeries, kidnapping of foreign oil workers etc. But the JVC or Dewell formed by the SVC couldn't match up with the Debam so the SVC partnered with Ateke Tom's NDV militants to form the Icelanders or Germans (Jahmans). The Icelanders outnumbered the Debam (Bobos) 3 to 1 ans did a lot of damage. This period was bloody in the Delta (Bayelsa, Rivera state).

The Icelanders still control a lot of places in PH with the Debam rivaling them as well as the outlaws and the Red skin, there was even a group called the Elegem face but there are no more Sha. The Greenlanders are said to have split from the Icelanders at the year 2013 but I don't believe that, I've been hearing of them since 2003 anyway the Icelanders, Greenlanders, Debam and Vikings are the four major groups wrecking havoc in Bayelsa although Bayelsa is said to be majorly controlled by the Greenlanders. The Icelanders are said to have formed their own splinter groups mainly the Klaint force, Black city, Glemment Boys, Glemment Girls etc. New groups are sprinting up as time goes and all of them are practicing vikings culture eg the Chineke boys of Down Yenagoa. In the south there's a thin line between street slang and Viking OT. And people mix both a lot and its seen as OK.

I understand the latter part too. The people have been encultured. I stayed in Rivers in the early 2000s during the Odili regime triggered Asari Dokubo-Ateke Tom cult war. What my eyes saw in PH and in the hinterlands my tongue cannot express.

Only God can save Rivers State now.

I'm telling you my brother. The late 90s and the early 2000s was bloody. It changed the way we all reasoned. The terms 'goes there' and 'wida you' are now more like greetings these days in Bayelsa.

No, he is Igbo and stays in the east. He was very popular back then and everyone called him Die the Matter. As a child I liked the sound of the name and when I was old enough, I got to know the meaning of the name(he has a very peaceful disposition to life and would use it to calm people and situations down).

We started using it and variants of it (die the matter/die it/die the issue/die the case) as teenagers. You can imagine my shock recently when a member of a WhatsApp group I am a member of questioned my use of 'die it' in the group, implying that it was an exclusive preserve of a cult group. I was trying to de-escalate a contentious issue.

I was livid. Imagine the nonsense!

At least ndoeyopbennet has helped me solve the mystery. Vikings cobbled together street slangs from the east and south south and mixed it with sea faring language and nordic culture lingos and made it their own.

The wonders have ended.

Thanks ndoeyopbennet.

Sure they did. But it's vice versa. Because of the high rate of vikings and it's splinter groups such as the Icelanders, Green landers, Red skin, outlaws etc influence in the south especially Rivers and Bayelsa the now newly invented language by the vikings is now rampant on every body's lips.

Yes. I agree with you on the shared ethos between Vikings and Buccaneers. Indeed, the Vikings Confraternity (or Norsemen K-Club) is based on sailing, just like Pyrates and Buccaneers. However, the key difference is that while Pyrates and Buccaneers are based on 16th-17th century pirates and privateers on the Atlantic Ocean axis (Europe and North America), Vikings is based on a much older Scandinavian group of nomadic warriors who held sway prior to the 12th century.

Viking cult language is influence by old Norse, some Latin and, of course, some Nigerian touch. Their language was one of the easiest for me to decrypt because the logic and mythology behind it is quite clear. I don't really have any issue with it. However, the Vikings cult seem to have inherited the inclination towards violence from Old Norse mythology which is evident in their language and tradition. You also find some Ikwerre or seemingly Igbo words too (this is no surprise as the cult started at the University of Port Harcourt).

You should be careful of listening to those cult songs though. They can subconsciously create a desire for you to "belong" or at the very least, they can make you idealise the cults. Do not listen to them if you are influenced strongly by music.

I noticed this too. Vikings language is a mix of Old Norse words, Souther Nigerian languages most notably Ikwere and Ijaw and the rest just made up jargons.

Na wah o, so "die it" is an exclusive language of cultists? Interesting.

I have a 66 year old uncle whose nickname from his teenage years is 'Die The Matter'. People have been using "die the matter/die it" for years before these cults were even formed yet you would be maimed for using an English word that was hijacked/stolen by cultists.

This whole thing is crazy. If Nigeria doesn't arise and kill cultism, cultism will kill Nigeria. And the time is now. Tufia!

LOL... Is this your uncle from the states of Rivers or Bayelsa or grew up in PH perhaps. People say it a lot there without being prosecuted.

Femi Folaranmi, Yenagoa

Cultists terrorizing Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital and its environs over a supremacy battle were again on rampage Monday night killing three people.

Icelanders, Greenlanders, Debam and Bobos cult groups in Bayelsa have been involved in a supremacy battle in the last few weeks.

The attack which occurred at a drinking bar located at Customs road, Biogbolo, Yenagoa also left five people critically injured.

According to investigations those killed in the crossfire include 50-year-old Mr Niceman Agonebi, an in-law to former deputy governor of the State, Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi.

Sources said the owner of the drinking bar identified as Madam Odey was hit by a bullet which torn her jaw apart.

Findings indicated that the suspected members of the Icelanders cult group acting on a tip- off that a member of a rival cult group was in the bar drinking stormed the place in a Keke- NAPEP and opened fire at the target and others sitting around him.

Eye-witness account said the cultists not satisfied began shooting sporadically at people with bullets hitting some innocent people on the streets.

The eye-witness account said the arrival of the operatives of the State Police Command and some officials of the Bayelsa State Vigilante Service and State Volunteer forced the cultists to escape through the Edepie/Tombia road.

Security sources said men of the Bayelsa Vigilante Service and the State Volunteer following a lead have already launched a raid on black spots in the state capital.

The acting chairman of the State Vigilante Service, Hon. Doubiye Alagba who confirmed the cult clash in a interview said the state government has gathered useful information on the activities of the rival cult groups involved in the killings and will ensure they are brought to book.

Alagba, while condoling with the families of the victims reiterated his call on the leaders of the cult groups to desist from the dastardly act and embrace peace or face the consequences of their actions.

The spokesperson of the State Police Command, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident and assured that the perpetrators will soon be arrested and brought to book.

Where there are no different races it would be tribalism, where there are no different tribes it would be clanism, when it's just one clan it would be families competing against themselves. Just because one South African idiot says one thing doesn't mean we should all start insulting ourselves. Nigerians cut your selves some slack. And we're not asking for them to like us we're just saying they should stop killing us like animals. Bleep them, who they epp? S A isn't even one of my top five must visit countries. In Porthacourt, The moment you hear "Aboi Lap" or "who goes you" in areas like Choba, Alakahia or Diobu, my brother just DisCharge, especially Diobu. cry

Lol those boys are not happy. No joy, no single joy, not even a single smile on their faces, SMH sometime I wonder if their parents were quarreling that night. grin

So as I was saying, if you hear something like that, just discharge, If you cannot DisCharge, you DisEngage, if you cannot DisEngage, you DisEmbark, if you cannot DisEmbark, just DisSomething*, like DisAppear, don't even stand to count how many syllabus words the sentence has, or try to comprehend the kind of "Lap" they're are referring to, because it will surely end in tears. cheesy

You'll hear something like: "aboi! lap,
who goes you"?
And you'll be like: "chairman na me nau,"( smiling in between)
Bad guy1: "Wetin dey your pocket?
You: "Nothing o". undecided

By this time, looking at their faces, you must have realised that they are not your friends or the vigilante group you have been using to strong your mind and be coming home anytime you like. grin

But they are actually the people your aunty have been warning you about anytime you came back late, and you'll be like
"aunty nothing dey happen",
now you have seen, something is about to happen! cry

The mistake you'll make is to tell him, "chairman na your boy nau, na we we, abeg make I go".
Lol... LMFAO "Go shawty it's your birthday! (in 50cent's voice)
The next thing you'll hear is a thunderous slap followed by: "gimme your kappa"! embarassed

The other impatient nigga will be like:
"LM why you dey carry this Jew man dey totori body, obtain this maga make we zoom for here"
Bad guy1: "oya pass me the Stainless, make him believe me small, e be like say e dey carry me dey play, hope say groundnut dey inside"? shocked

It is at this point in time you'll realise that all the Action Movies you have been watching was a waste! You would have used that time to read your Bible, but no, Netflix and Netnaija didn't allow you to think straight!, now look at your life? grin

John Wick killed a group of bad guys with just a pencil and here you are repeatedly slapped by two boys, tears flowing freely from your eyes, and your left hand still stuck on your cheeks, the funny part is that, they are not even up to your junior brother's age, Inside life. angry

But what can you do, they are holding Stainless with groundnuts inside, so you have no other choice but to Corporate or do you want to Appear Tomorrow Morning on RSTV News wink

P/S: If you can actually understand the bad guys lines, you're a cultist smiley

Senior man I hail o! But understanding those slangs doesn't mean you're a cultist. And if you think so, then man you never stayed in PH city. I grew up in Bayelsa state, somehow both Bayelsa and Rivers share same urban culture. Come see person mama de hala wida you for down Yenagoa.

Culture / Re: Words From The Epie Language Of Yenagoa. by Sinistami(m): 8:52am On Jan 12, 2020
ijawcitizen:

Hello Sinistami
I stumbled upon this thread of yours and I had to comment on it because of some outrightly dangerous or at best potentially dangerous information being peddled here by a supposed native of Epie and Bayelsa state.

First, There is no language called Izon in bayelsa that is different from Nembe, Ogbia or your Epie. The word is Ijo and it describes the entire Ijo people and her dialects and divergent languages. Izon is only the pronunciation of the word Ijo by a group of Ijo dialects which compulsively interchange letters J and Z. they pronounce John as Zohn, and Zinc as Jink.

Secondly, the evolution of the Epie Ijaw clan and it's language is a historical testament of the aboriginal and ancient status of the Ijo people as the oldest ethnicity in the Niger delta. This is so because Epie was once a purely Ijaw ancient city state before it absorbed Efa migrants who escaped the tyranny of their ruler, the Ogiso. This is clearly before the foundation of Benin and it's monarchy in the 1100s so Epie could not possibly be of Benin origin but one of the many Ijaw clans that harboured Efa (pre-edoid) people.

It may interest you to know that more than 50 percent of what is known as Urhoboland are of Ijaw origin including the people of Ughelli whose origin is of Tarakiri Ijaw origin. Again, there is no indigenous urhobo people in bayelsa state. Ofoni people like Epie is a purely Ijaw territory whose language became altered due to their interactions with ancient Efa people.

First of all am I the Epie indigene sharing dangerous information? Our governor was the one peddling core Ijaw and non core Ijaw about. I only knew there was a language called Izon-ibe spoken by his so called core Ijaw.

Secondly. Your second point is interesting and maybe true. Forgive me for getting it wrong at first. I already knew about the Epie being a result of Ijaws taking in Efa runaways. But if there was no Benin city then why does old Epie language have a word for Benin city Akenmoba meaning Oba's house in the language.

Your third point actually is based on what you think the word indigene means. Thank you. #Proudly_Ijaw

If that's your stance then you should set the stage for your criticism and argue from secondary principal instead of going around in circles asking things that have a basic theological position already.

You said that there is no evidence that Jesus died when even non-Christian historians acknowledge that he did, even if they do not believe in his divinity. So what was the point in saying that unless you were deliberately trying to be disruptive or you just haven't bothered to research it?

Futile! Pointless.

Yes, they have listed plenty of reasons not to believe in him which are available to read and which have equally been countered by believers. The debate between Jews and Christians has been raging on for centuries.

The reason I find your posts irritating is that you ask questions whose answers should be preliminary to somebody who claims to be a sceptic.

I don't understand how you can critically oppose Christianity and yet, not know that Pontius Pilate has been proven to have existed and that the sole basis for distinguishing Christianity from other religions is that human beings need a divine intercessor and that Christ fulfils the criteria.

I don't know what sort of discussion you expect us to be having if you haven't grasped even basic concepts such as these, or if you are as disingenuous as to pretend not to have, just for the sake of it.

This is why the conversation seems, to my understanding, to be futile. And this is why I flared at you last time (though I shouldn't have). Is it that you are genuinely ignorant of these things or that you're just trying to be difficult?

Either way, it's not how to debate. You should have advanced past such otiose speculation by now, if you are a serious opponent.

Anyway, I wish you good luck in your quest dear kiss bye!

Oh OK I get you now..... Well I knew the difference between Christianity and other religions was Christ who acted as the intercessor between God and man but my question was what makes it better. All religions have stuff that makes them different and Unique but not not exactly better.

As for the Pontious Pilate part, that was just due to misunderstanding. You see most of the questions I asked that you felt were too irritating because according to you they have already been answered by other Christians and are now too basic to be answered by you, to me were actually very much unanswered because the answers were still too illogical and out of place to accept.

Angels were watching, if God had killed Satan immediately there would be no prove of Satan's challenge that is why God has allowed man to prove Satan right or wrong, and we are witnesses to it that Satan was wrong man cannot live without Gods influence; sickness, diseases and death, hardship etc. Imagine a world where only the righteous live; would there be any need for padlock, guns or even house protector

That's not even what I'm talking about... From the beginning, when Satan actually rebelled against God, when he was still an Angel why didn't he kill him? As a matter of fact God being Omniscient and all knowing should have known that the mudafucker would one day betray him but still created him. The same God that knew the beginning and the end. That boils down to the story of Adam and Eve.. Bullshit.. Man God knew they would disobey and eat the fruit and still tested them anyway.. Nonsense.

Youre simply saying rubbish... That they forced us to do away with our traditions and customs doesnt mean that the message of Christ is wrong...God uses human evil for His glory

Its in the nature of humans to plunder and subdue each other....still that does not negate the truth of Christ.

You have not succeeded in making a single point throughout the course of this discussion.

Neither have you made any point too in anyway... You simply only misunderstand all I type or pretend to misunderstand it by calling it trash.
So God used that nature of men to plunder to push this so called 'truth of Christ'. He couldn't spread his truth him self since he's all mighty and powerful and can do all. Do you know the amount of Blood splattered on the floor for your so called truth?

You have not yet told me why you think Christ is the only way, you keep dodging the question. Why?
