Recently the Senate Chief Whip, Orji Kalu, who is preparing to run for the seat of Nigeria's president said he will offer himself with the permission of the Federal Government to go to the UK to appeal to Nnamdi Kanu to dropped Biafra agitation and return home.

Lagos State COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center is endangering the lives of front line healthcare workers .

NAIJA NEWS NG has learnt that Lagos State in a time when COVID-19 is still ravaging the mega city is exposing the families of the very people who have decided to help combat the pandemic to contract the virus . Our investigation reveals that the last batch of health care workers Lagos State employed three months ago were lodged at hotels to work at Onikan, IDH , Gbagada , Agidingbi isolation centers have been asked to prepare for evacuation this month- July. The new directive says they will start coming to work from their homes.

“Please let your staff know that JULY will be the last month of hotel accommodation. “ This is the SMS sent to the team leaders on hotel evacuation.

The health workers are worried because this is not what they were told before they took the job and coming to work from their houses will expose their families to COVID-19 . Our source revealed that the healthcare workers in the last batch before this were treated this same way and most of them tested positive to COVID-19.

Another red flag is the constant slashing of allowances and welfare package of fontline workers . One wonders if the state is running out of funds or just do not care about the welfare of the workers.

You would recall that Lagos State approved N20 billion to combat the virus in the state, the state also got N10 billion from the Federal Government to tackle coronavirus .

Chairman Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 Boss Mustapha disclosed that the Ministry of Health, in conjunction with other Ministries Departments Agencies and the health sector professional bodies, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for various allowances and other incentives for the welfare of frontline health workers.

A medical doctor from Cameroon has testified with “scientific evidence” to being healed from the deadly coronavirus on TB Joshua ’s popular Emmanuel TV.

Dr Kameni Pierre, a gynecologist and obstetrician, revealed he was suffering with COVID-19 and in isolation in a hospital ward when he called in via video to receive prayer during an interactive program on Emmanuel TV.

Dr Pierre, speaking in French, explained his symptoms included a cough, headaches, difficulty in breathing and pains throughout the body.

He showed his medical report confirming him positive to COVID-19, which has infected more than ten million people worldwide and resulted in more than 500,000 fatalities.

“Distance is not a barrier to what God can do,” one of the ministers in TB Joshua’s church can be heard counselling Pierre in the clip. “In fact, God is even more powerful in distance.”

Turning to pray for Dr Kameni, he “commanded healing” upon his system, upon which the Cameroonian doctor fell involuntarily to the floor and began to “vomit uncontrollably”.

Toyin Subair, Businessman and promoter of defunct HiTV, seeks a return to the pay television industry by free-riding on the 6th National Broadcasting Commission Code.
Naija News NG reports that the code among other controversial provisions, aims to end exclusivity. Back in 2014, Toyin Subair, founder of the defunct pay television platform, HiTV, launched an ambitious move to return as a major player in Nigeria’s pay television market.
Subair, whose HiTV, crashed in 2011 after four years, launched PlayTV six years ago, hoping that it would rise to prominence from the rubble of HiTV. The foundation for PlayTV was Continental Satellite Television (Consat), the failed pay television platform of former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu.

PlayTV currently operates from the old Consat office located within the premises of the Tinubu-owned Television Continental (TVC) at CMD Road, Ikosi-Ketu in Lagos.
At launch, PlayTV promised subscribers that it would not be business as usual “as we will be rolling out with lots of interesting channels you’ve always loved and new channels you’d love to watch”. It also claimed to have the potential to “be available to over 20 million homes and 150 million individuals”.
Six years after, it has failed to go anywhere near Subair’s projections and is remembered only by decoders bought for N15,000 by subscribers.

Consat never got off the ground, a development that did not deter Subair, with the businessman now planning to bring it back as well in addition to an Over-the-Top (OTT) platform that will be a hybrid of Ad-based Video-on-Demand (AVOD) and Subscription-backed Video-on-Demand (SVOD) services. “Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide on the directives of Igbo Elders, Traditional and Religious leaders, Critical Stakeholders among others have disowned the lawsuit filed against President Muhammadu Buhari, over alleged wrongdoing and marginalization of Igbos in appointments made by his administration since 2015.

“Ohànaeze Commended the Southern Leaders efforts to ensure that Justice is done especially in respecting the Principles of Federal Character. Igbo Youths wish to state categorically that various Stakeholders were not consulted.

COVID-19 Presidential Task Force coordinator, Dr. Sani Aliyu has said that 60% of Nigerians living in the South East don’t believe they should be worried about the virus.

Biafra restoration group, IPOB , seems to be nearing the point of implosion as Uche Mefor calls out bigots and terrorists within the group.

“They are going about beating up elderly people in our villages in Igbo land” Uche Mefor revealed in a Facebook video he made in response to IPOB members who accused him of worshiping idols as a Roman Catholic .

According to Uche Mefor, IPOB’s Deputy Leader, there are some bad elements in IPOB who are going about unleashing untold hardship on our Igbo people.There are group of IPOB members who use their positions to terrorize others. Naija News NG reports .

Uche Mefor wrote : “For some misguided, overzealous religious bigots who think that they can hijack IPOB, the posts I made and my broadcast are primarily and squarely directed to you and has nothing to do with our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s broadcast yesterday. If I have issues with that broadcast, however, I will definitely say it if need be. The bullies here are also directly addressed. Get your acts together, because you cannot prevail, I assure you. There is no room for victimization, religious politics and bigotry here.”
