Very good advise.
Ask Nosa his experience with nem. It was not funny. 3rd quarter that year was so fantastic. They started by delaying their result and when it was released, even 1himself had to write an epistle on the disappointment.

Zenith bank result better be good I have all my resources invested here. can't believe other stocks will decisively appreciate in price and GT, Zenith will still be dilly dallying.... angry

Sir was it a wise decision investing only in Zenith what if the result comes out and is not favorable there are other stocks that could provide good yield. not trying to be a scaremongerer just my tots.
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by sirflav: 1:17pm On Mar 03, 2016
Sirs, Please so sorry my person was not referring to Zenith bank but to FBNH when he said 4th qtr result was so bad. On the contrary he said Zenith bank will pay the same dividend that it paid last year.

Pls no vex

Greetings . Its result time. some bank results will disappoint you . The set up is gathering momentum . Do not make extrapolations and get carried away. That Afriprud paid 43 kobo does not mean the parent organization will pay more . I have some friends here and would advise to steer clear of certain bank stocks as the impairments will erode all the revenues generated . When a stock looks cheap on paper and cannot sustain any momentum, be very afraid . You are not the only one looking at such stocks. The fact that its not rightly priced shows you there is something underlying that we do not know . GTB has been stable despite all the shocks . While stocks like UBA and Access bank looks grossly undervalued, there is a reason why . I do not like elaborating too much but tread carefully . Be careful guys and good luck .

I gave them the warning i received from a top shot in a rising oil company who knows the accountant in charge of the Bank's books. During lunch time i will go to Ikoyi again today to see if can get more details about the impairment of other banks. As for Zenith "the results will be a shock", "there was huge impairment charges from their 4th qtr result that has depressed the FY result"

I will call my contacts cos I am heavily invested here. U fit dey correct, no doubt but which loans exactly were impaired to the extent of probably wiping out all quarter 4 profits and eating into the 84 billion PAT so far?

GTB and Access were more exposed to Oil and Gas. Zenith does not do much of SME but lends more to blue chips. Dang Cem, Nestle, NB all constitute a huge part of their 1.7 trillion loan asset base.

In summary, I don't trust ur info but since I am fully invested here, I better verify to prevent stories that touch.

Sir funny enough my info came from someone in Avuru's office who is friends with the 'mr accountant'. Those in the oil industry already know what is happening

Was there any profit warnings ?

Very bad u said ..ok thanks for your info

There is no need for profit warning it was only the 4th that was bad but overall FY result will come as a surprise to many of us. That is what i was told by mr accountant .

As for me I have been wondering why the delay in releasing their result unlike last yr and why did it crash so low in January and hard to return to even N14?
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by sirflav: 11:44am On Mar 02, 2016
please be warned!! there is a systematic selling of Zenith bank because the 4th qtr result is very bad due to high increase in loan impairment charges.

this is what i have heard so maybe we should trade Zenith with caution

I borrowed some bank shares from my broker last year sold them off@ 9N , well, I'll buy 'em shares @ 3.66 on Monday and return to my btoker, along with their admin fee...

It's all risk biz. And I just became profitable..
The market is yet to bottom out, so no rush, ASI needs to hit the 20k or market cap. drop between N5 - N6tr. That's the time to go in.

Sir pls what is the name of your broker?

Thank you so much for the information, my brother.
I am currently accumulating FBNH as long as it remains below N5.00 though it may not be the best stock for now considering their loan portfolio and CBN regulations and restrictions on banks but the resilience of this bank for over a century and the new management will of course turn the bank around on the long term. This is a prize we may not witness in the next 10 years. Succeeded with 680,000 units so far and still accumulating gradually FOR LONG TERM.
UBA is also on my radar but I take stocks one at a time and long term.

Yes sir I also agree with your long term focus so my only fear of FBHN is their small dividend payments cause like yourself I have kept my stocks for many years now and look out for dividend payments. Of recent I have been gently acquiring zenith bank, UBA and Dangcem believing that these stocks will continue to pay high yield dividend

@0.50 kobo?

Yes at 50 kobo. A penny stock that can go no lower in price and pays dividends. I have shares that have depreciated in value but my NigerInsurance investment has remained the same and I have joyfully been receiving dividends. So since 2010 Nigerinsurance is one company where I have made no loss whatsoever on my investment.

Is niger insurance not a good buy?? from offer of 52 million to no more offer again o

ibe9ja:

Less dan a week ago u asked if Niger Insurance was a gud buy. And over d years u have accumulated 5.8 million shares of it. It is either u are Lai Mohammed by claiming u acquired 5.8 million shares or u were monkey hunting wen u asked if Niger insurance was a gud buy.

My first acquisition of Niger Insurance was in 2010 at 50 kobo since then I have been acquiring more and collecting my dividend. A week ago I noticed the 52million shares on offer vanished and I believed that the move was on the back of the recent appointment of Yusuf Abubakar and the growing revenue of the company with the expectant end of year financial results. This drove me to pose that question to discover the opinions of fellow members since knowledge is the outcome of all. I then acquired almost 900,000 new shares.

I understand your fears sir I am not a monkey hunter or whatever you meant by that. Neither do I have something up my sleeves. Is it wrong to point out the improving facts that Niger insurance is doing well?

I know they gave N0.035k last year but considering the anticipated higher dividend, like how much can I estimate based on the Q3 40% increase in PAT? I succeeded in gradually accumulating about 15 million units.

Sir we should be looking at (4.5 - 5) kobo dividend payment and possibly over 50% price appreciation. The appointment of Abubakar as the new chairman is already sending off positive vibes in the industry not to mention its upcoming result which will show a higher increase in underwriting income and therefore PAT, the future of this company is definitely bright. I have acquired 5.8m shares over a few years till date so I bow to your 15m.

It is a good stock, some people watched the price of their stock fall in value while Niger insurance price remained same (being penny stock) and they continually paid dividend (7%) - my investment remained intact.

What other stocks do you have sir?
