A South African lady who took to Twitter to celebrate her Masters’ dissertation, was called out by her former course mate who recounted how she lied against him.

Reacting to the tweet, her former course mate recounted how she lied against him with her friends, telling their lecturer that he didn’t partake in an assignment they were given. According to man, he almost didn’t write the exam, but ended up getting a distinction in the course.

He wrote;

A commercial motorcyclist, popularly known as Okada rider, has committed suicide by hanging himself in Oyo state, over huge debts he owed people.

The Okada rider killed himself in the Gangansi area of Ibadan, Oyo State leaving behind a suicide note in his room that stated the reason for his action.

According to Punch Nigeria, the corpse of the late commercial motorcycle rider, identified simply as Abass, was found dangling in the room around 7.30pm by a neighbour who raised the alarm.

One of the neighbours, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Abass was in his early 50s, adding that his wife did not live with him before his death. He said;

“The house belongs to his elder brother. He has children but his wife has left him. Someone saw his body dangling from the ceiling in the room and shouted. He was dead by that time. We saw a suicide note he left behind. He said he killed himself because of huge debts he owed people.”

A 48 years-old-man identified as, Mallam Ado Abdul, has infected his 3-year-old daughter with HIV after raping her several times.

According to Daily Post, Mallam Ado Abdul, who lived at Gidan Sarkin Ilele. Kasuwan Magani Kajuru Local Government area, Kaduna State, who lost his wife last year due to prolonged illness, developed love for his daughter and started sleeping with her.

Instead of allowing the little girl, Adama to stay with her grandmother, he took his daughter to his house with a view to having illicit affair with her.

One of the residents in the area said;

“Her belly started swelling, she couldn’t eat, and we discovered serious wet from her private part. It was then, the grandmother took her to a medical facility in Kasuwan Magani to conduct a test on her,”

According to him, after several tests, it was confirmed that Adama’s swollen belly was due to excess sperm storage as damage had already been done to her private part.

The grandmother of the girl, it was learnt, immediately reported the case to Kasuwan Magani Police station and the Sarkin but no action was taken.

Angered by the grandmother, she reported to the Kaduna State Ministry of Women Affairs, Child Welfare Department who forwarded same to security agent for investigations.

Confirming the report, a source at the Ministry of Women Affairs who does not want his name in print told DAILY POST that it received a report from an elderly woman at Kasuwan Magani, as the ministry had since sent a memo to security agency to carry out full investigation.

According to him, based on the security report, the father of the girl, Mallam Ado went into hiding since the incident became known even as the community wanted to hide him from the public glare.

Popular rapper, Cardi B has revealed that her vagina broke while giving birth to her 3-month-old daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus.

35-year-old Chizoba Okafor who was arrested for fake wine production by officers attached to the Edo StatePolice Command, has blamed it all on his master.

The suspect who was paraded by the State’s police commissioner Babatunde Kokumo, was arrested at his one room apartment on Upper Mission Road, Benin after an investigation into the fake wine production.

Speaking to newsmen after his arrest, the suspect who admitted producing fake wines, however disclosed that he turned to the illicit trade because his master refused to ‘settle him’ after serving him for years. According to him, he would read the contents on any bottle and go to the market to buy them for production.

The police boss who expressed worry about the number of persons that might have fallen ill after consuming the wine, said the suspect will be charged to court after the investigation is concluded.

Justice J. Adepoju of the FCT High Court sitting in Abuja, on Friday, October 12, 2018 convicted and sentenced one Godfrey Ango, a support staff from Integrated Corporate Services attached to Access Bank to 6-years in prison on a 12-count charge bordering on diversion and misappropriation of depositors’ money.

Arraigned in December 2015, Ango sometime in 2011, while being a bulk teller in Access Bank allegedly diverted over N5,224,500 of depositors’ money to personal use. It was reported that the victims – Hillside Schools and one other company, petitioned the bank .

The case was investigated internally by the bank and later referred to the EFCC for further investigation and prosecution. In his statement to the EFCC, Ango confessed to committing the crime and outlined how he spent part of the money to settle personal problems such as house rent, school fees, clothes, shoes and to obtain Ukrainian Students’ Visa.

Counsel to EFCC, D.M Nkwa, urged the court to convict the defendant so that it can serve as deterrent to him and others. In his judgment, Justice Adepoju found Ango guilty of all the 12 counts and sentenced him to 6months imprisonment with option of N200,000 fine on each of the counts.

The court also ordered the convict to make a restitution of the diverted sum to the victims. “I have considered the arguments of both parties, since the purpose of punishment is to prevent further offences and the convict has shown remorse for his actions, monetary conviction and payment of fine is necessary. It will also allow decongestion of prison”, the judge said.

The arraignment of Christopher Andekin, a director in the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, and two other officials of the Federation on a 5-count charge of fraud to the tune of $$9.5million scheduled for October 15, 2018 did not hold.

Andekin, who is the Director of Administration and Finance, was to be arraigned before Justice Peter Affem of the FCT High Court, Abuja alongside Rajan Zaka, a cashier and Jafaru Fadanari Mamza, Head, Finance and Account Department of the NFF.

The trio, in 2015 allegedly diverted money to the tune of $9,535,923.87 belonging to the Federation to personal use. The money was a grant given by the Federation of International Football Association, FIFA, for the development of football in Nigeria. It is also alleged that Andekin fraudulently diverted N1,353,407.22 from the domiciliary account of the NFF domiciled in one of the new generation banks, without due process.

Particulars of one of the counts read: “That you, Christopher Andekin, being the Director of Admin and Finance of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on or about 8th day of January to 26th day of January 2015 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja while being entrusted with dominion over money meant for the Development of Football in Nigeria, a grant from the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) to NFF fraudulently, diverted the sum of N1,353,407.22 from the NFF domiciliary account No. 5070407456 with the Zenith Bank into your personal use and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 311 of the Penal Code Cap 532 LFN 1990 and punishable under Section 312 of the same Code.”

Another count reads: “That you, Rajan Zaka, being a cashier with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in Abuja within the jurisdiction of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja while being entrusted with dominion over money meant for the Development of Football in Nigeria, a grant from the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) to NFF fraudulently, diverted the sum of $6,490,900.48 from the NFF domiciliary account No. 5070407456 with the Zenith Bank into your personal use and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 311of the Penal Code Cap 532 LFN 1990 and punishable under Section 312 of the same Code.”

When the case was called, though the defendants were present in court, they could not take their plea as counsel representing them informed the court that he was ‘just’ served with the charge, and asked the court for a date to enable him study the charge.

In the circumstance, Justice Affem asked parties to come back on Thursday, October 18, 2018 for the arraignment.

Garba Shehu, who appeared on Channels TV last night on behalf of the Presidency, disclosed that the Federal Government is yet to release names of those affected by the travel ban empowered by the Executive Order 6.

Reacting to the list with former Ministers and Governors including a dead judge which went viral yesterday, the Presidency said the list being paraded is fake and that those who have been banned have had their cases running before the coming of the Buhari administration.

“We’ve seen a number of names being circulated. We have not issued any list. We are not going to issue any list because, again, if we did so, a lot of criticism will follow. Trials by media and all sorts of things.

“These cases are mostly known by most Nigerians. There are cases that have been in the public domain. Most of them were never really instituted by this administration. They go back seven to 10 years.” he said.

Garba Shehu who also spoke to Punch’s correspondent, told those criticizing the decision of the Federal Government to place about 50 Nigerians being investigated for corruption on travel ban, to go to court.

”Those who are opposed to this government’s position know what they can do. They should go to court. Nigerian artist, Kehinde Wiley who was picked by former President Barack Obama to paint his portrait, was last Thursday honoured with the W.E.B. Du Bois Medal by Harvard University.

Florence Ladd, Kenneth Chenault, Shirley Ann Jackson, Pamela Joyner, Bryan Stevenson, Dave Chappelle, and Colin Kaepernick, were also honored over their good works in their different careers. Same award was conferred on Muhammad Ali in 2015 and Maya Angelou in 2014. The W.E.B. Du Bois Medal is Harvard’s highest honour in the field of African and African American studies.

Recall also that two months after artist Kehinde Wiley’s official portraits of former U.S. President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama’s debuted at the Smithsonian Institute’s National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., Kehinde Wiley earned a spot as one of Time’s Most Influential People of 2018.

“Historically, portraiture has always been about saying yes to things that we want to celebrate, but I think also the commissioned portrait has often times been about a society saying, ‘Who are the people we collectively want to honor?’ and particularly with the presidential portrait, this is the highest aspect of that tradition,” Wiley told Time in a recent interview. “It’s been — I can’t tell you — an extraordinary honor to be able to participate in that.”

They drugged and raped the both of them, then they made a video of both moments.
There are a lot of things in that video that scares the shit out of me. I almost threw up.
That video is very scary.
I wish our parents sees these and begin to take precautions.

Talking about the bold steps he said it was not easy releasing the album due to tight performance schedules home and abroad but “I thank God it will be out tomorrow.”

He added that the album would be a sold out too, reiterating that despite time, he made sure the six tracked album was solid.

“The Obesere you know is full of energy that never disappoints. I have little time to rest, despite that, I made sure the content was deep and awesome. I leave the rest to the fans to judge”, he said.

Asked why the foundation came at this time, Papa Tosibe replied: “I feel it is just the right time God wants it to surface. It is the best time people need such thing to make them feel loved, especially the hopeless.

Adultery is no longer a criminal offence, India’s top court has ruled.

The law, which is 158-year-old, states that any man who has sex with a married woman, without the permission of her husband, was guilty of the criminal act of adultery. The law dictated that the woman could not be punished as an abettor. Instead, the man was considered to be a seducer. It also did not allow women to file a complaint against an adulterous husband.

A man accused of adultery could be sent to a prison for a maximum of five years, made to pay a fine, or both. It is not clear how many men have been prosecuted under the law since its inception as there is no data available.



But, last August, Joseph Shine, a 41-year-old Indian businessman living in Italy, challenged the law saying it was arbitrary and discriminated against men and women. He petitioned the Supreme Court to strike down the law.

His petition reads:

Married women are not a special case for the purpose of prosecution for adultery. They are not in any way situated differently than men.

Mr Shine added that the law also “indirectly discriminates against women by holding an erroneous presumption that women are the property of men”.

However, India’s ruling BJP government had opposed the petition, insisting that adultery should remain a criminal offence.

Diluting adultery laws will impact the sanctity of marriages. Making adultery legal will hurt marriage bonds. Indian ethos gives paramount importance to the institution and sanctity of marriage.

The colonial-era law was struck down by the Supreme Court, making it the second colonial-era law to be struck down this month, the first being the law that criminalized gay sex.

While reading out the judgement on adultery, Chief Justice Dipak Misra said that while it could be grounds for civil issues like divorce, “it cannot be a criminal offence”.

There are arrangements being made for the first solo trip of the United States first lady Melania Trump, to Africa.

She will be visiting some African countries such as Ghana, Malawi, Kenya and Egypt in October, with plans to emphasize child welfare in the countries.

Mrs. Trump, alongside the first ladies of Ghana, Kenya and Malawi, made this known at the UN General Assembly in New York.

Oct. 1 will mark the first day of my solo visit to four beautiful and very different countries in Africa,” Mrs. Trump said during her brief remark.

After six years in court, Okporua Otobrise, who kidnapped a journalist, has been sentenced to 17 years’ imprisonment.

Justice F.N. Azinge pronounced the judgment on Monday at the Delta State High Court in Asaba. Otobrise kidnapped Monday Whiskey, a Warri-based journalist, on March 19, 2012 at Orhuwhorhun in Udu council area of the state.

Otobrise, who hails from Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state, and others who are now at large were found guilty of the crime after the prosecution counsel, a Deputy Director, T.P.I. Uriah, and E.S. Ifedora concluded their arguments. Justice Azinge declared in his judgment that the sentence would serve as a deterrent to kidnappers in the country.

He said: “It is common knowledge that the spate of kidnapping is on the increase in Nigeria, particularly in Delta State. The sentence is to act as a deterrent to others who believe that kidnapping is a lucrative enterprise or business and to rid the society of people like the defendant who lived on crime. Therefore I will pronounce the sentence as is provided under the law. You James Okporua Otobrise is hereby sentenced as follows: Count I, 7 years imprisonment; Count II, 10 years imprisonment, to run concurrently. This is the judgement of the court.”

Kidnapping is punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code, Cap C21, Volume 1, Laws of Delta State of Nigeria, 2006 and Section 364 (2) of the Criminal Code, Cap C21, Volume 1, Laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.

The Ondo state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, have arrested a 35-year-old bricklayer, Dayo Samuel, for allegedly raping a 13-year-old daughter of his neighbor in the Ijoka area of Akure, Ondo State.

Parading the suspect before newsmen, the state Commandant of the NSCDC, Pedro Awili, said the suspect had threatened to kill the victim if she told anybody that he defiled her.

“Abuse and defilement of minors have becoming a recurring crime in Ondo State and NSCDC has been collaborating with other security agencies to ensure that the trend is brought to an end in the state. The suspect will soon be charged to court after the completion of investigation.” Awili said

Speaking to newsmen, the victim said Samuel used to give her N50 or groundnuts to lure her.

“He would give me money or groundnuts before having sex with me. I later told my mother. It is my mother that told the civil defence people to arrest him.” she said

The suspect however denied the allegation. He accused the motrher of the victim of using her daughter to frame him just because they were having a quarrell.

“I didn’t defile the girl; the woman and her child are not telling the truth,” he said.

Comedian D.L. Hughley has taken sides with Serena Williams after her epic outburst at the US Open finals.

Hughley said Serena absolutely has a point about women getting unfairly penalized for things men do all the time. He went on to point to Martha Stewart as an example.

Hughley was asked by TMZ if Serena was justified in her outburst after an umpire took a point away from her, and then a whole game.

Serena called the umpire a thief then later said male players have said harsher things yet are hardly reprimanded as severely as she was.

D.L. Hughley agreed with Serena, and pointed out other epic outburst from men like Andre Agassi and John McEnroe. McEnroe once called an umpire a “jerk” and demanded he be replaced mid-game.

D.L. went on to point out that Martha Stewart went to jail for illegally pocketing around $40,000. He insinuates that a high-profile man who might’ve been caught up in a similar case probably wouldn’t have seen jail time.

Inspector General of Police has warned men of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad FSARS to desist from checking the bank accounts details of anyone they interact with while discharging their duties.

Speaking at a workshop on the reformed F-SARS in Owerri, Imo state, the IG also warned the FSARS operatives not to invade people’s phones and laptops unless they have a court order or an instruction from the commissioner of police in charge of a state police command..

Represented at the event by the Deputy commissioner of police in charge of the IGP’s X-Squad, Amaechi Elumelu, the police chief also added that FSARS operative who handles cases not related to armed robbery and kidnapping would equally be dismissed from the Nigeria police force.

“Under the reformed F-SARS, it is illegal to search suspects phones, computers, or inquire about their bank account details without proper authorization. Henceforth, the FSARS Commanders must get directives from the State Commissioners before invading people’s privacies. Any officer who disobeys will be dismissed.” he said

Mel B will be admitted into a UK-based therapy centre next month, to help her cope with alcohol and sex addiction, alongside a post-traumatic stress disorder.

A close friend who spoke about the sex addiction the 43-year-old former Spice Girls band member is hanging on, revealed how Mel B slept with up to three men in one day in the wake of her bitter divorce from Stephen Belafonte.

“I have made the decision to go into a proper therapy [program] in the next few weeks, but it has to be in the UK because I am very, very British and I know that will work best for me,” Mel B told The Sun in a statement on Sunday.

She also explained how she arrived at such a difficult decision following her divorce from Stephen Belafonte.

“The past six months have been incredibly difficult for me,” she told the publication. “I’ve been working with a writer on my book, Brutally Honest, and it has been unbelievably traumatic reliving an emotionally abusive relationship and confronting so many massive issues in my life.

“Sometimes it is too hard to cope with all the emotions I feel,” she added. “But the problem has never been about sex or alcohol– it is underneath all that. I am fully aware I have been at a crisis point. No one knows myself better than I do — but I am dealing with it.”

She later shared why she is deciding to speak out.

“I am still struggling but if I can shine a light on the issue of pain, PTSD and the things men and women do to mask it, I will do,” she said. “I am speaking about this because this is a huge issue for so many people.”

Mel B shared these details, at almost the same time she shared a link to a website detailing an overview of PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder). “Knowledge is power,” she wrote alongside the link.

Nigeria politic generally is poor and most people believe there’s no saint in politics which I completely agree, but there are some of these politician who are actually good/fair.

take you through the 5 first timer Governor in Nigeria that deserves a second term ticket.

1. Mr. Akinwumi Ambode



Although the list is in no particular order but even if the list is in descending order, Governor Ambode would still be our number 1.

When Fashola was the Governor, we thought Lagos state has witnessed the best of development but Ambode has taken that to another level. He within the space of 3 years turned Epe around to a city to be proud of, he constructed over 21 roads in Alimosho area of the state.

He brought another set of modern bus to replace the usual BRT buses, Lagos State as rowdy as it is is witnessing the best secured environment in the history of the state with his achievement in the security sector, he lighted up at least 365 streets in Lagos state.

Ambode had also greatly improved the Internal Generated Revenues in Lagos state as the state is making around 1bn per day now. What of the Pen Cinema Flyover, the world class Oshodi Transport Interchange, five new Art Theatre built, Epe and Badagry Marina Projects, Airport Road, Abule-Egba to Oshodi BRT lane etc.

That only little above 6 months to a general election, virtually no opposition members has shown interest in replacing Ambode speaks volume of how high the opposition in Lagos state rate the performance of his administration

The excellent man overseeing the affairs of the center of excellence has performed excellently well and therefore deserves a second term.



2. Nasir El-Rufai



The lanky Governor of Kaduna is not just one of the most popular and influential Governor in Nigeria, he is also one of the best performing Governor, he has performed remarkably in steering the progress of Kaduna state.

The most notable of his achievement is Kaduna Educational reform, El-Rufai despite the criticism wielded out the unqualified teachers in Kaduna state, he then appointed over 2,500 qualified and well screened teachers, he further embark on a massive renovation of the state owned public schools.

State owned Tertiary Institutions were also giving the deserved attention as there are massive capital projects that are either ongoing or completed in the state’s tertiary institution, this is aside the increased budgetary allocations to these institutions to boost their effectiveness and place them amongst the leading tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

El-Rufai is also fighting corruption as much as Buhari is fighting it. First was the massive recovery of government’s property from illegal occupiers and encroachers which had hither to led to distortion in some of the government’s plan.

A rigorous verification exercise that was carried out for the state civil servants which led to the extrication of over 13,000 ghost workers from the state’s payroll, thus saving the state huge sums of money and then the adoption of Treasury Single Account (TSA) was replicated in Kaduna state.

There are massive construction of road ongoing in Kaduna at the lowest possible cost. The IGR been generated in Kaduna state has also increased under El-Rufai by more than 60%, moving from 11.5B in 2015 to 17B in 2017. New investors are also moving to Kaduna on regular basis as the government signed a partnership deal with a Chinese firm to build a new 50,000 barrels per day refinery in the state.

The former F.C.T minister maybe in the news more often than not for political reasons but he is obviously a ground breaker when it comes to governance and therefore deserves to be returned next year.


3. Nyesom Wike



The controversial Governor of Rivers state who is also now the leading opposition party, PDP figure is without any iota of doubt an achiever, he may have been in the news more for political related issues but the truth is, the infrastructure provision he is providing for the River state people is unprecedented.

One and his most important achievement is that, Rivers state which is known to be a killers den, Rivers state which house arguably the highest number of Cultists, political thugs, touts, hooligans and rascals in Nigeria is enjoying a relative peace.

There was a time Killing used to be a day to day occurrence in all the nook and crannies of River state but the narrative has changed with Wike in charge.

Any government that is successful in the provision of adequate security for her citizen is a government that deserves to be credited. Wike is credited for this and should be returned to complete his reform in River state.



4. Atiku Baguda



Unlike Wike, the Kebbi state Governor is a silent achiever, there is a silent revolution taking place in areas such as agriculture, education, health, youth empowerment and security.

There has been so much noise and advice about diversifying the Nigeria economy and Baguda is one of the few Governors walking the talk.

In the area of agriculture, Kebbi state signed a partnership deal with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to provide loan facilities to the rice and wheat farmers in the state.

The same Kebbi state under Baguda had a partnership with Lagos for the production of Rice in large quantities, today, Kebbi is providing over one million metric tons of rice and that is the brain behind the LAKE rice which has flooded our market. This agricultural achievement has also created thousands of job opportunity to the Kebbi citizen. State like Imo, Enugu, Katsina, Ebonyi etc have all visited Kebbi to understudy their rice production techniques.

Baguda also performed well in the education sector by renovating several school and providing enough teaching and learning materials to students and teachers. Teacher in Kebbi are been retrained among other landmark educational achievement in Kebbi.

In the health sector, all the General Hospitals in the state has been renovated by Baguda, All the existing comprehensive health centers in the rural areas were not left out as they were provided with necessary drugs, equipments, qualified personnel to man them and the list continues.


Baguda is a testament to the popular saying that empty barrel makes the loudest noise. He is not a popular media figure like Fayose but he is an achiever per excellence that deserves to be returned for a second tenure.



5. Dave Umahi



The Governor of Ebonyi state has built over 20 standard roads within the capital city of Abakaliki, road construction are visibly seen to either be ongoing or completed across Ebonyi, the first fly over in the state was constructed by this present government

In other to reduce Lassa Fever, Umahi built the first virology centre in the south east from scratch. Umahi greatest achievement however is in the area of agricultural.

Like Baguda, Umahi has turned around Ebonyi state with his agricultural initiatives, soft loans to the tunes of billions was provided for the farmers to expand rice production and the results has already been seen as rice production tripled in Ebonyi in 2017.

Umahi also provided parboiling machines for the 3 rice mills in the state and the state is today the biggest producer of rice in Nigeria.

The workers welfare is another great achievement of the Umahiled Ebonyi state government, for a state which had no concrete source of IGR, for a state that is in the caliber of Osun, Ekiti to be able to pay the workers salaries promptly despite the economic quagmire, such state Governor deserves an accolade.

The government has paid workers’ salaries till date and workers have received 13th month salaries for the last two years. Salaries are paid before 20th of every month, while those of teachers are paid before the 15th of every month. Pension of retired workers are also paid as and when due.

No doubt, Dave Umahi deserves to be re-elected.
