Good evening, please who how many days grace period the point of entry officer will give if you arrive late after your school start date? Will they send you back if you arrive like a week after school start date? Any one has any opinion on this? Thank you.

As in ehn, add that particular information on your ds160 is so unnecessary and most people will say if you don't add them the Visa officer will know.
How will the visa officer knows something you didn't add in your profile. They work with the information on your ds160
Kemmiiee:

Omo.. this is crazy mehn. How can he even remedy this? Except he can reapply and hope to have a lenient VO.

I think it is just best to omit the information from the DS160 if you have siblings who went through F1

Putting your family on your ds160 when you know they went on F1 visa is a redflag. Moreover, i don't think they have any help they can render by putting them in terms of helping you get your green card, so why would anyone wants to complicate things fir themselves!

Dating And Meet-up Zone / Re: Can't We Have An Agent's Abroad That Does This For "JAPA " Purposes? by Sisib15: 10:47am On Jul 17, 2023
Thank you so much

My course is fully funded and I will face my book because this journey looks scary from far
Papilagreen:
Well m glad I could help the best way I can. So let me try and answer you question the best I can..
So I have never been to south Dakota before but I do know one thing for a fact... It is one of the coldest region of America almost close to Alaska but not as bad as Alaska.the summers are hot and mostly clear and the winters are freezing, snowy, windy, and partly cloudy for a fact..

Now if you are not used to the cold or if nobody don tell u bout the cold here for America bros I go try dey honest with you be ready for the cold.. na the first thing wain I first regret the first day I land America. As I come out from the airport final exit gate, na cold push me back inside quick quick not regarding the sweater I wan putting on..

So here are my advice I have for you..

1 have you already gotten you visa approved? If yes then congratulations and jump to the next step..

No go buy plenty cloths say u dey come form big boy and just buy one one sweater when u dey come save the rest money till u come y enter goodwill or salvation army get very cheap good sweater for the American weather..
Also do more research on how the school is the weather and the environment and then start reaching out to the school to look for job as an international student because believe me when I say the small change u dey carry come no go do u anything so start email ur school look for job because you go need am and e go help u py ur bills it will be a life saver for u.

Also like I did earlier quick find campus job so dem go fit issue you social security work permit so you go fit get drivers license and credit card to fit start boost your credit score..
Also when u reach here face ur book and no too let this oyinbo children life style of partying 24/7 make u lose focus ooo because dem don lnd already from birth and u know watin carry u dey go there..
So with this small story I say all the best and hit me up if you have any more questions and I will be glad to assist if I am free.

Thank you Papilagreen, I have been following you comment and they are all what i need. I will be cpming to south Dakota state as a student, please what can you say about that state and how can i maximum opportunity there
Papilagreen:
Bro e no easy like that oooo.. that one ehn.. the paper process long die and some times self the thing still be like student visa dem go still deny you for any godderm reason.. and the process long pass student visa rout.

I know person wain dey assist give professional advice and assistance on how to beat go about the process and from past experiences from people who had to come via marriage route (i.e the wife or husband come from yanki come marry him partner for 9ja) after marriage the person go back to start the process e dey take very long time and still dem dey deny am like student visa and all regular visa..
The questions dem dey ask for embassy na physiological questions if u no smart and focus you go mistake for your answer and dem go deny you and sometimes na just luck because I don see person wain only sabi speak him father name for full sentence and dem grant am visa when we ask am him say him use better body language dey explain as him dey try speak him English to the VO.

My best advice na come as a student and take your time do the thing and I no go lie even after you make am here to America e no go easy for you for your first few 4 to 6 years but last last u go dey alright. But I no lie u right now America recession don dey bad small money no dey stay hand but you go see food eat bellefull and save small thing if family and friends back home no suck all from you that's why when you give always use wisdom.

Finally finally everybody luck and destiny different.
People dey wain try like 5 times before dem grant am visa also I know person wain don try like 3 times B4 dem give am visa. Me na one time I try dem give me some of my 3 friends I help to come here as well dem all get their visa but my kid brother went but dem deny am and this was like 3 months back.
He will still try again later. The only thing be say na the waiting time his first time took a total of a year and a month waiting because no early interview date for embassy. My advice is even if dem deny you try try again.na just time e go take.
Me I came to America December 2019 as a student I am already done and married happily with a beautiful daughter and I already get my baba blue. My advice keep trying no give up. Try use school come na the best way many perks involve. You get many benefits if you come as a student.
Make I drop pen here for now it's getting late here I rest my case and quietly exit the room.

Congratulations!!
Welcome to Biden's land
TenaciousOrphan:
My Visa Interview Transcripts (Caveat Long Read) Sorry for posting it now, I wanted to see how my visa looks like first. Accept my apology.

I started applying to schools since 2019 but I promised myself that I won’t go to the embassy until I get full funding. I have been making application mistakes since that time until I discovered what I was doing wrong. So I applied in 2019, 2021 but was not successful. In 2022 applications I applied to 11 Schools and got 5 Fully Funded PhD Admissions.
My Interview Profile and Transcripts is below:
NB: This white VO on earpiece was denying plenty people, so I was always pretending to use the toilet. 3 times I left the queue but was still sent back by the CGI official.
Profile:
School: Florida State University
Program: PhD in Sociology
Funding: Fully Funded ($52, 211)
Interview Location: Lagos
Interview Date: July 7th 2023.
Interviewed by: The dreaded VO on earpiece.
First Time.
Status: Visa Approved
VO: He signal me to come forward.
Me: Good Morning but he didn’t respond.
VO: Where do you work and what do you currently do?
Me: I work at xyz University as a Research and Administrative Assistant and my duties includes…VO cuts in
VO: Are you married?
Me: Yes, with a son.
VO: Why are you applying alone without your family?
Me: My wife is currently busy at her work place and her annual leave was not granted.
VO: So are you saying you will be staying in the US for 5 to 6years without your family? It is better you guys go together for this period of your study, are you processing hers already? -set up question 1.
Me: My wife wanted to accompany me to settle down and return to resume her work but her annual leave was not approved…..because she’s currently very busy in her place of work.
VO: So you mean they will never come to the US throughout your program?
Me: She will visit when she is free at her work place. She also needs to develop her career too as I am doing mine. I will also be visiting when I have the time.
VO. Since you are going for a PhD, will it not make sense to get a job in the US after your graduation? Because you will earn more money in the US and so many universities will be looking for your service. - set up question 2.
Me: That will not be possible because I am signing a bond with my University in Nigeria and if I disappoint on that bond, they will report me to all the universities in Nigeria and the school I am attending in the US. And this will seriously affect my career. So even though it would have been better it’s not possible.
VO: Where do you work again and what do you do?
Me: I work as a Research and Administrative Assistant at XYZ university. At this point he checked my Linked profile and search google to confirm. I saw his computer reflection in his glass window.
VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: 11 schools and 5 gave me fully funded PhD admissions
VO: I will be approving your visa.
Me: Thank you and I did not hear any other thing he said. I just left the hall very fast. Though I later came back because the applicant before me mistakenly packed my documents.

I left the embassy after giving out some free Will gifts to the few beggars I saw on the way. When I got to my hotel I started playing a song by Edna Ogholi titled: ‘Okeoghene Omai woma’ in my language; which when translated means “God time is the best” and shared tears of joy.
Thanks a million to those who have contributed to my success in this Journey. Especially Mr
Firebreeze (a candle loses nothing by lighting another), Fairheart, Faith-my sister that got her Visa at the 11th time of asking amongst others. I am honored.

Lagos released july date yesterday. Please join search date group
Kemmiiee:
Hello all, I just logged into my UStraveldocs portal and the earliest date I saw was November 8. I just closed the tab and did not bother to select. I have a couple of questions though:

1. Is it possible to still see an earlier date like August later? My start date is September 5

2. Should I just pick the earliest date and apply for Emergency appointment?

Thanks in advance

p.s. Can somebody please post the link to a Lagos date search group? Thanks.

Share this in the student visa thread and i read this transcript in the some group i belong.
Hope you filled married on your ds160 and also both of you could have backed dated your marriage when filling your ds160.
Another advice is she can also try the F1 route too.
OLAOLUWA92:

Please I need your advice on my wife's F2 Visa application. I got my VISA approved on 17th May 2022, we got married on 21st July 2022 and I left Nigeria on the 4th August 2022. We got married 2 weeks before I left Nigeria......she has currently done change of name......her passport carries my name and we have all the marriage documents and all

My wife went for her F2 VISA interview today 11th of July (this morning ) in Lagos.....she was denied

I have a fully funded Ph.D. that covers for her without any deficit, she's a medical laboratory scientist in Nigeria with good earnings, so I think to some extent we have a good profile

She told me she answers all the questions confidently...but the VO keep repeating

" You married in July and he left in August?"
"You married 2 weeks before he left Nigeria"
"You got married after his VISA interview "
"So did you guys leave together before he left "

Her response to the question was "Our wedding date have been fixed before his interview, our families have met, we, ve had an introduction between the two families and right there our wedding date has been fixed, we have sent out our wedding IV and preparation for our wedding has been ongoing before his interview"

She said she answers all the questions she asked her but she kept repeating the questions on the time of marriage....it's obvious she's having issues with how our wedding goes ( maybe how close to my departure date)

Our wedding should be one year in a few weeks.....she has really been so depressed..... I'm planning to apply for another VISA interview immediately and maybe she should go to Abuja now thou date has been the issue.

Please I want to ask, can re-apply immediately?

Please how best can we answer these questions revolving around our wedding?

It could be the funding part, most times, VOs frown upon Loans. You can use yourself as the sponsor if you have 5_10 years working experience, you can also use your parents as the sponsor, but Mpower loan is a redflag at times.
Your friend should fire back and she may get it in her next attempt but this time with a significant change in her approach
kimpoyo13:
Good day house, kindly analyze my friend's transcript. She got a blue slip this morning, your honest assessment and encouragement would be appreciated. Personally I feel it was the loan and post study plan part that didn't go well due to her nervousness.

Vo-why did you choose umich
Me- I choose umich for 2reasons aside from the fact that it's a top public university in usa and 2 of my top management staff are alumni.(note she gave me listening ears ,but I started shaking)
1.umich curriculum offer me more than class room teaching,I have been scheduled for an expense paid trip to DC,where I will have a better understanding on how Accounting policies shapes business decisions(at this point ,she cuts me)
Vo-are you married
Me No,butt(vo cuts in)
Vo-Do you have anyone in the USA

Entitlement is a diseases says someone that has been on nairaland looking for other people's transcript to learn from. Even the process, I'm sure you got it from other people's experience, the verification of the school and all enquiries, it was other people transcript that helped you to make an informed decision.
Stop all the talk about entitlement, stop giving people half-baked information
Teddiement:
So the missing names are the only things you could take out of it. You feel entitled to information which for personal reasons (reasons you aren't privy to) I did not want to share.

And that's the major reason I accepted the school offer ahead of other admissions I got from Cornell, Syracuse, and Brandeis Universities. I need the dual concentration to equip me with a complete skillset for my career trajectory.

VO: I see you've got a 50% scholarship. So who's covering the deficit?
Me: I will cover the deficit. I do quite a number of things. I am the program manager at a civic tech organisation focused on ..., I have a cottage processing plant which processes ... ME- No

V.O-When did you finish your highschool?

ME- In 2019 sir

V.O- What do you do here in Nigeria

ME- Im currently interning as a junior software developer at Microsoft Nigeria, where my roles includes me writing basic codes, assisting the senior software developers in their day to day tasks and also Testing out new softwares.

V.O - So you are working at Microsoft?

ME - No, Im volunteering as an intern at Microsoft Nigeria.

V.O-Who will be paying for your education?

ME - My father has demonstrated his ability to pay for my studies before my i-20 was issued. He is the Chief Medical Director at Reddington hospital in Lagos, as well as a private Medical Consultant to several hospitals around Lagos. Asides from that , He has set aside a savings account which he intends to fund my education with.

V.O- What will you be doing after your program

ME- I will be returning back to Nigeria for my mandatory NYSC program, Afterwhich I will be applying for a job role as a software developer at the Ministry of Science and Technology in Nigeria where I will be working with government agencies to create software solutions that can enhance citizen engagement. (he nodded)

* Small talk him and I had*

So have you paid your sevis fee? (na here I know e don soft)
Yes and he asked how I did, I said I used western Union and he said ohh Nice that it was fast cos I paid it in yesterday and its always slow going from Nigeria to there. and laughed.

Next thing I heard was Everything Looks good, I will be approving your visa this white paper will guide you .... I thanked him and left as I came out of the consular office, I showed everyone that were still in the waiting area my white paper" I don get am" . They laughed and I ran out🤭🤭🤭

Observations ; He likes straight to the point answer and Eye contact, especially when you talking of ur sponsor, make sure you look him directly cos thats when he will pause what he is doing to look at you and judge from there. Also, just try to be calm even if everywhere blue , distract yourself and lastly, pray its important.

Bobomaigida:

Hi, please was your application submitted by an agent? Did you send the statement via MBS or it was printed?

You can send MBS now, let the statement be updated and then a reference letter from your bank and submit the ticket, reference letter and letter of explanation (explaining the ownership of the account and the steps you have taken to authenticate the statement) on your portal.
