ROTFLMAO! Mr. RichyBlack is really taking his ipo as the president of The Association for The Protection of Badly Behaved Immature Men seriously.

Ah, me I like a man in high position who works hard for his constituents. It's a thing of beauty, I tell ya.  grin

What shall we Address him from now on?

Ay yi yi! All this miscontrue, miscontruing, miscontruitioning. . . English is not by force oh! I say we switch to our native language to avoid the pitfalls of miscontruetinism.

@ Vescucci
There are far more worse people to be linked than a pseudo intellectual word rapist. So trust me, the eyelashes haven's stop batting.

Clubs eh? Hmm, I don't know about that, I've done away with clubs for 7 years now. I find them a little. . . err. . . to babaric for my liking. I use base ball bats or Hockey sticks. Will that do? Oh I'm so excited, I can't contain myself. My last clubbing activity was done on Constitution Rd. What a lovely, lovely time that was. I can still smell the sweat mixed with blood. *Dreamy Sigh*

As for the apology. . . I kind of sorta ruined Tropic Thunder. Gave away something I shouldn't have. . . Darn my big mouth. cheesy

Of course there are no nincompoops (I don't hafta check the dictionary. Ha!) in Kaduna. . . Duh! Where do you think we are. . . Lag lipsrsealed

@ Busta
Thank you oh and it is not about being materialistic, it's about logic. Have you ever heard anyone buying stocks of a company they know is is going down. . . with the hopes of making profit? Won't you ask that person if he is insane? Then let him now tell you oh it's because he loves the company. . . He won't even finish that sentence before he finds himself in the loony bin.

@ rokiatu
Oh you're killing me here. . . "True love never fades?" Gah! They ought to shot the person who came up with that asinine phrase, honestly. angry

rokiatu:
am experiencing real love and
I know how it feel.
Hey far be it for me to say what you think you're feeling is not love but the question is this - Just how far will you let this thing you're feeling affect the other aspects of your life and be realistic.

All this love conquers all, Love is Blind, I'll do anything for love, if you have love. . . you have the world talk is nothing but talk. Strip it down to the basics, how will what you feel stand up against poverty, uncertainty, lack of security etc?

I am of the opinion that "Love" is only for when the good is good and going. . . I mean have you noticed how quickly love fades when there is trouble in the horizon? If this thing can't handle both the good and the bad side of life, then how wise is it to use it as a measuring stick for every other thing?

I hope you understand that I am not saying that people are fickle, I am saying LOVE itself is fickle and it is time for us to snap out of this fantasy and start thinking rationally. Who knows, maybe then people will stop divorcing like child'splay because "They fell out of love"

I've said it before that he's prolonging this on purpose because he's done something or has been doing something wrong and wants you to continue to feel guilty.

what was the point of his "tears" if he's still going to avoid you? A sane man would have had all this straightened out since. He's a coward

He's fortunate to have gotten you for this arrangement because seriously just after one day of this bullshit behavior, INS would have been after him. Deservingly so.
Thank you ooooh! I thot I was the only one who thot so but before you talk now,  The Men's Association For The Protection of Badly Behaved Men will pounce on you with their "Sacarsm has no place in marriage talk" :eyeroll:
RomanceRe: The Rich Guy Or The Poor Guy? by Sisikill: 2:43pm On Aug 28, 2008
Lol! A lot of idealistic people on Nairaland. Why do we insist on letting this unrealistic thing called LOVE cloud our sound judgment? Let’s even go back to the very beginning, What exactly is Love? Maybe after defining it, you’ll be able to measure how far you want it to affect everything else in your life.
LiteratureRe: Why Do Ladies Like To Read Romance Novels? by Sisikill: 5:32am On Aug 28, 2008
Let's just say the rest of the books in the series seemed a little forced, you know. As if going out of the way to match Flowers in the Attic in everything. . . especially the ick factor.

Gardens of Shadows is the last but the first. It tells the story of how Chris and Cathy's parents - Chris and Corrine (I think) met. . . Why the grandmother Livia became the person she was in FITA and some minor characters introduced in Petals in the winds, If there be Thorns and Seeds of Yesterday.

Apart from the forced part, I'll recommend reading everything.
LiteratureRe: Why Do Ladies Like To Read Romance Novels? by Sisikill: 4:32am On Aug 28, 2008
Nah, it wasn't Flowers in the Attic like ( what was V. C Andrews thinking). These ones thought they might be but couldn't fight the attraction and were quite relieved when they found out they weren't. . . after sexing each other up like oh I don't know 5 TIMES!! (Errrr. . . I'm guessing of course, remember I skipped pages  wink )

I got tired of the Sweet Valley Highs quickly, meanwhile I'D read the Famous fives, Secret Sevens, Hardy Boys, Nancy Drews over and over again. Also loved CS Lewis Narnia Series, The Malloy Towers and St.Claires books.

Did You ever complete the Series for Flowers in the Attic.  . . especially Gardens of Shadows? Eeeeek!

Find out some few years back that it wasn't even VC Andrews who wrote the rest of it but a ghostwriter. Apparently, FITA was the only she wrote. No wonder it stood out.
LiteratureRe: Why Do Ladies Like To Read Romance Novels? by Sisikill: 4:02am On Aug 28, 2008
Lol, I swear it was mind control and hell yeah the tearing of the clothes is preferable to the slowly undressing.

My first real romance, romance book was Slow Heat in Heaven by Sandra Brown. The name should have been a hint, right? Nope, not to me. . . hey, I’ve never had a problem admitting I can be sometimes slow. Anyway, before this book, all I read were books where someone was murdered, possessed, hunted and the usual bloody good stuff.

This is how it started, my sisters and I were traveling and I had miscalculated,  . . I usually have at least 3 books with me but somehow this time, I didn't and was so happy to see my sister had extra book. I start reading, it didn’t look so bad. Oh la la! Someone is dead. . . an old man but a dead person nonetheless, Brilliant! There seems to be a mystery of sorts here, I'm liking, I'm liking! The main guy is a li'l on the caveman macho side for me but aah, I'm sure I’ll get past that and before I can finish that thought. . . BAM! Sandra Brown took it to another level. Okay, I don’t know if you’ve read any of her books but Sandra brown is borderline insane with her descriptions.

So there I was. . . 13yrs old, sitting in the most uncomfortable airline seat ever with one sister on my left. . . fast asleep, the second on the other side of the aisle doing whatever, reading "he flickered his tongue on her clitoris" (I swear I didn’t know what that was. . . Clitoris I mean) I quickly closed the book and looked around hoping no one saw me (if it was today, I'm sure they would have suspected I was up to no good and maybe the innocent looking thing in my hand was a bomb not a book with the way my eyes was darting all over the place) Jeebus! What the heck was that? So this is what my sister reads? What can of perverted person am I related to? I swear on everthing, I am telling my mommy on her and maybe even Hadjia (my grandmother) too. . . just as soon as I finish the book. Yep, I couldn’t stop!

Now before you call me hypocrite, let me explain myself. See, I had to find out for my peace of mind that the two people having sex were not freaking siblings because right to the very second they were grunting and panting, this insane woman insinuated they were half siblings!! Can you imagine this rubbish? It was too much for my 13 yrs old mind to comprehend! When I was done ( I skipped pages like a mofo) I jejely dropped back in my sister’s bag and nary a word I said. It took me 3 yrs to pick up another romance book. Luckily Judith McNaught is a delightful writer.

Here's an idea, maybe we should all talk about how first romance novel experience. We have kukuma accepted we like to read it, so what else is there to talk about?  tongue

Lol, you and me both. My sister thinks it's the reason I have problem writing romance and all that lovey, dovey crapola. The moment I see "Slowly undressing" the pages starts flickering, sometimes I don't even touch 'em. . . It's like mind control.

Seriously though why do they all have to slooooowly UnCloth? huh For ordinary bath, I don't slowly UnCloth then it's right in the middle of the action I start unbuttoning one. by. one? Yeesh!

LiteratureRe: What Is The Most Romantic Real Life Story You Know? by Sisikill(op): 2:21am On Aug 28, 2008
Lol, I get you. It's like everyone was living a fairy tale life BEFORE marriage the way some people carry on. On the other hand, one can also say when you are single, you have the problems of one which becomes that of 2 when you get married and to top it off, some partners are only partners by name. Instead of helping you out, they dump their own on you, so you are one person carrying the load of 2 . . . hmmm, in retrospective, maybe I was kinda over-reaching creating this thread.

There is no such thing as Real Life Romance. . . NO WONDER WE BURY OURSELVES IN ROMANCE BOOKS.

Ah, there goes my experiment, oh well at least it shows we don't read romance because we're brainless, we read 'em to escape the harsh realities of our world.  cry

Lawd-a-mercy! I don't know how to laugh!

First it was Just Love us.

Then it became Love us like you love yourself.

Then Love us more than you love yourself.

Then Love us like we're your God.

Now it is Love us more than God

Naija men will not send the lot of us straight to hell with their demands.  grin

Who said anything is wrong with that?

Now you tell us what is wrong with a man ACTING LIKE A MAN and talking to his wife after an arguement? Instead of running off like a CHILD, taking away her only means of transportations for her and the children for over 72 hrs?

the ungrateful toad left for over 2 days now and you are asking questions about food.
LMAO! Help me ask him. I love how they manage to ignore the immature behavior of this so called man and try to twist things around, making it her fault. I mean. . . what is going on? Is there an invisible wall making it difficult for them to understand things? The worst thing ever done to mankind was giving men egos! If we are to look at the many issues we are facing today, I bet it can all be traced to one man's bruised ego.

If it isn't that there are people here to pull RichyBlack back to reality, I'm sure the next thing he's gonna ask sisterwoman to do is crawl to Dodondidi's apt, with hot amala on her head and beg for the honor of feeding him with her bare hands. . . while still on her knees.

RichyBlacK:
You're misunderstanding me. I'm in agreement with you that her husband's attitude on this issue is not okay.

Now what is wrong in respecting your spouse, being loyal to the marriage you're in, cooking for your husband, and being willing to please and be pleased?
Why absolutely nothing wrong IF the spouse (which often times is the man) understands the last part of your sentence. You know. . . the reciprocating part of the relationship.

Let's face it. . . giving as good as you get is not really your forte. I imagine Naija men as vacuum cleaners, inhaling everything and anything that comes your way - The love, respect, adoration, interest, concern, the putting you first, without thinking twice about it and what do you give in return - GARBAGE.

See what we are saying about not understanding these men.

Here we are talking about a dodoyo leaving his marital home for days, not picking his wife's phone calls and acting like a spoilt brat, ignoring the fact that he has more to lose should the marriage end, all because his wife dared to be sarcastic and someone is asking if she cooks for him.

What in hades does that have to do with anything?

I swear, if I had my way all male creatures no matter how big or small would come with a user guide
RomanceRe: Sarcasm by Sisikill: 7:58pm On Aug 27, 2008
Even Nigerian women don't understand Nigerian men, let's just clear that up right now. If we did, many of us won't be here wondering. . . What planet these men come from, How they can't seem to grasp the principle of give and take, How they are absolutely convinced showing they care is going to somehow reduces their lifespan, Where they get the idea that life, love and marriage is about THEM, How they can take the slightest offense and turn it to capital offense. . .  I mean sarcasm for goodness sakes! What sense does that make??

We do not understand these men either, we've just been brought up to accept their ways.

@ Sisterwoman
It's nice you're in love with your husband but I think because you of your feelings, you have the same expectations of him. I'm sorry but you shouldn't because you'll end up getting frustrated. I'm not saying he can't love you or you are wrong for loving him but you gotta remember how you guys started, what your purpose of your marriage was. So while you have taken it a step further by wanting to create a real family with him, he might still be stuck on the reasons for the marriage. If i were in your shoes, I'd stop wearing my heart on my sleeve and get back to. . . being formal (for lack of a better word)

By the way, Amos sounds like a reasonable man. . . are you sure he is related to your husband?

She cares a lot about him
She supports him in every inconceivable way
Both families support them
But most importantly. . . She is HONEST.

And your friend wants to throw all this away because he has not heard “I Love you”?
