4 Him:
you have a point.

Point of correction - i didnt dismiss anyone's work, i appreciate the talent . . . maybe not what they chose to write on. but hey who am i?
4 Him:
when will i read a REAL "drabble" that isnt sexually oriented?
A REAL drabble, huh? As opposed to what. . .the unreal drabbles? I think that is being dismissive of other people's work but hey, that's just me and I could be wrong. Maybe if we took a poll right now, majority will say it is high praise!!!!

4 Him:
there's no theme . . . there's free expression . . . however it gets easily boring when everyone seems to be writing about sex all the time.
Well then, why don't you make it less boring by writing something that isn't about sex. I just find it a tad rude that you are dismissive of other people's work when you make no effort to contribute anything. . . but then again, it is easier to criticize than participate, isn't it?

Okay, I thot the purpose of a drabble is free expression.
Wasn't aware we had to follow a particular theme. undecided

tope2000:
So no more questions and tearful goodbyes
This will be unspoken
Let’s just watch time fly
Time never stops or rewinds
But love will come twice in disguise
With the long hand on you and the short hand on I
And for a moment
I will remember
When we were
In love
Again

My best part, Bravo!!!!
Me too.

I'm still recovering from Maeden's. . . only for you to come throw a wrench in the process. So you can write this, ehn? I am sooooo telling Ariblaze on you. You looked the other way when he was searching for writers to continue the story he started.

I am loving this so much, it should be illegal.

@ Nikinash
You came closest to the exact description the initiator of this post gave as regards the key character's imbecility. From your narrative, one can easily tell Michael is abnormal as against others' attempts that tend to portray a very stubborn boy.
Honestly. this is why I can't stay away from this section. . .sound critique!! You are absolutely right in your assessment of her piece. We did play it safe (I hope you don't mind me speaking for you Ojukwu) we didn't cross the line from Mischievous to abnormal.

On a side note or maybe not, It would be interesting to know what makes Michael tick.

And the comparison. . .I think she was being facetious. LOL

Rescue Me

He tugs my hair.

Twists my arm.

Bends my knees.

He drags me to the bathroom

Pushes my head down into the sink

Scalding water burns my scalp

He laughs. Not a peep I make.

He pulls me up by my wet hair.

I feel stands pop out of my scalp.

“You likey? Want another?

Into the toilet my head goes.

Laughter and flushing sound echo in my ears.

Suddenly the door opens.

My rescuer bursts in.

He gasps, tries to hide but it’s too late. . . he’s been caught.

“Moooooom! Dayo is playing with my doll again!!!”

I think I made her sad because I didn't finish listing all the wonderful things that some Nigerian men do. . .like

Blaming the woman for everything that goes wrong in their lives,
Blaming the woman for the fact that they have low sperm count,
Blaming the woman for making them cheat on her,
Treating her like second class citizen even after the dog from his side of the family.

Jeebus H. Christ! I'm getting positively giddy talking about this, I can't wait to walk down the aisle with my Nigerian man, singing come and join me sing hallelujah, Jehovah Jireh has done me well, so all this treatment can start ASAP.
RomanceRe: Why Are Nigerians More Strict About Their Daughters Marrying Nigerians? by Sisikill: 8:02pm On Jun 15, 2008
Question - Why Are Nigerians More Strict About Their Daughters Marrying Nigerians?

Answer - Because compared to men from other countries, the Nigerian man expresses his feelings for his wife in many ways. For instance, a white man will only shoot his wife dead but a Nigerian man will beat her, demean her debase her, cheat on her, rule over her, blame her for his wrong doing, turn her into a baby making machine because the # of kids they have is a testament of his prowess as a man,. . .and after all of this, the woman can be talked into sticking to the marriage until she finally dies from premature old age and a broken heart.

*sigh*

PoliticsNigerian Militants Seize Oil Vessel With 8 Sailors by Sisikill(op): 1:54pm On Jun 09, 2008
Nigerian militants seize oil vessel with 8 sailors

LAGOS (Reuters) - Armed militants in southern Nigeria ambushed an oil vessel belonging to Canada's Addax Petroleum Corp. on Monday and are holding eight naval personnel on board, a navy spokesman said.

"Some naval ratings escorting an Addax boat were ambushed by militants who boarded the ship. There was limited exchange of gunfire because of the combustible nature of the cargo," Nigerian navy spokesman Henry Babalola said.

He said the vessel had left the Calabar area near Nigeria's southeastern border with Cameroon and was heading towards Onne in Rivers state, part of the Niger Delta which is home to Africa's biggest oil industry.

"We have asked for the commander in the Port Harcourt area to send reinforcements to rescue the ship," Babalola said, referring to the main city in the delta.

One private security contractor said 12 sailors had been seized in the ambush.

Militants who say they are fighting for greater local control of the delta's natural resources launched a campaign of violent sabotage against the oil industry in early 2006 which has forced the world's eighth-biggest exporter to cut output.

The line between political agitation and criminality has become blurred, with gangs kidnapping oil workers for ransom and funding themselves by stealing crude oil.

President Umaru Yar'Adua's year-old administration has said it plans to hold a summit with Niger Delta communities to try to address the root causes of the unrest but has also promised a crackdown on militant camps in the region.

Rotflmao. . .this reminds me of the compositions they used to make us write in Primary 1.

1) Both have four legs
2) Both are made of wood
3) Both are used by people.
4) Both can break
5) Both are used in the house.
6) Both have flat surfaces.
7) Both are non-living things.
8 ) Both can be moved
9)
10)

Yeah. . .as you go down the list, you start getting desperate, trying to work anything in until you can't go on.

Anyway, I've been itching to ask this. . .Does Seun pay for the # of thread one starts? If so, where do I sign up?
