How are you sure she's telling you everything? She may also cease to tell the day your brother will say I do.What does it matter if she isn't telling me everything? It's not like we are doing trade by batter with the information. I don't need to sit down to count the words to know I've told my sisters in law more than they have me. . . why? I am a talker. My 3rd oldest brother's wife hardly talks but she listener, does it mean she's delibaretely hiding something from me or she is mentally taping everything I say, to be filed and used later as a weapon? No. She's is not a talker, besides, what are am I hiding? I mean if I have a secret that could potentially harm me if it gets out, then I deserve everything I get for telling someone else. I think the whole "oh don't trust your sister in law" is a product of the US vs. THEM mentality but the thing is. . . there is no THEM, she is married to your brother, that makes her US. |
iice:Couldn't have said it better! My mom is always telling us that the wife can sit on her head and she won't have a problem as long as she makes her son happy and that is what we should focus on. . .his happiness. What some don't get is people respond to love with love (except they have mental issues and that's a whole other story) and hate with hate. Some sisters get all territorial about their brothers, you wonder if they think they are in the wild west fighting a turf war. Please, It is not that serious. |
My sisters-in-law are very close to my sisters and I. I tell you, If we (my siblings and I) didn’t all look alike…I mean seriously, eerily alike, people would think my parents had all girls and the guys are the in laws. IMO if everybody knows and understands there are boundaries that shouldn’t be crossed; I see no reason why there should be a problem. That aside, I don’t understand why some sisters feel the need to compete with their brothers’ wives. Jeebus! They are too busy minding how the wife served them water in a slightly dirty cup on a silver tray even though she knows they like the gold tray, they don’t realize their husband is sleeping with the young nubile thang down the street until he after he’s run off with her. Then they turn around and blame the wife…Oh she brought her ogun idi le to their family, before she came divorce was not even in their dictionary, her family on the other hand, had divorce 10 generations ago and then they. . . Wait…what was the question again? Oh right my answer is. . . Yes absolutely. |
When he's had his 8yrs (11 counting the military regime) like Obasanjo, then and only then should he be judged. My goodness people, it's only been a year and a half. Only God know how long it's gonna take him to undo the mess OBJ made before implementing his. Can we be realistic in our expectations? Is that too much to ask? |
@Zomby Nigeria is like a battered wife who keeps going back to the husband who uses her as a punching bag and scoffs at the people trying to help her. It's not that she's completely helpless, abuse is just what she's used to and even believes is what she deserves. If it isn't a fat-cheeked, loud-mouth, uncouth and abusive southerner with a god-complex, it ain't the real deal. |
You are so right! He should resign. It's been 10yrs since he came to power and still nothing to show for it. 10yrs!! |
Jakumo:About darn time!! I was wondering when the Institute would respond to this. . . this affront! It is obviously a calculated effort by the western countries to tarnish our image. Thank you for stepping up, it restores my faith in the juju practice my grandpapa dedicated his life to. If I know him very well. . . which I do, I suspect he will be appearing in your dreams to give his heartfelt thanks. |
LOL. . . I used to go Eonline but then I found the real Pyscholand - DLISTED. I tell you, I laugh so hard I think I'm gonna burst a gut, then I go home and take a shower. That dlisted guy is nasty, makes you feel dirty all over. I know Mark Millar is excited about this trilogy thing. . . as he should be, I just hope they don't ruin it. |
pein:ALL the characters were underdeveloped. This is the kinda movie you'll expect from a 5th rate film student. Not people with a dozen blockbuster under their belts. Gah! |
iice:The BLOODY explanation is right. 3000yrs his and hers superheros? Seriously? I swear if they were doing a spoof of superhero movies, it will make sense. You are smarter than I am oh. . . the only thing you didn't understand in the stupid movie is the creature in the tornado. I didn't even understand how we got to the freaking scene. Okay, Okay to be fair, I missed that scene because I wasn't paying attention anymore, I was to busy sending a mass text to my friends telling them how much they owe me for sparing them the agony of sitting through a crappy movie. I suggested they give me the money but I still haven't heard back. |
I'm sorry he got poisoned and glad he's doing better but it irks me when they have no qualms saying a government officials "Go Abraod for medical treatment". How are the little people who can't afford to travel abroad supposed to feel? |
Dis Guy:Yeah but who is going to control them? My sister's kids attend a private school and the administrators had to hire private security to keep the kids safe. I don't blame the teachers for wanting to get paid but this kind of behavior is just uncouth. |
blacksta:Na wa oh! |
The Sly:Exactly! It pisses me off when people carry on as if Yar'Adua has a magic wand and all he has to do is wave it and Presto! United States of Nigeria. It took us years to get to the state we're in. . . could it be that it will take years to undo the damages? |
TOH:Seriously, you will know. When women say they didn't know about their husband/boyfriend's cheating, I just roll my eyes. This is the man I've laid with (i'm being biblical here. . . lol) , slept with, drank with, breathe, inhaled his scent, know every mole, scar, scratch on his body do I sound psychotic? and I won't know when something changes? Nah, not even. I don't care if he is Brando, Pacino, Deniro all one rolled in his acting skills. . . a woman can still tell, except she wants to bury her head in the sand or she wasn't paying attention. |
If this was me, I honestly won't do anything until I have reason to. From my experience, once you start getting on a guy's case when he hasn't done anything, it makes it easier to do it. He thinks "Oh well, she already thinks I'm doing it anyway." I say, cool your heels and strike should the iron get hot. PS Please, please never, ever, ever call the girls. It's is just ![]() Your business is with your guy and your guy alone. |
@ Topic I have just 4 things to say. . . 1) Get rid of her. 2) Get rid of her even if she begs. 3) Get rid of her even if she tells you she was joking and it was a test. Seriously, what kind of test is that? 4) Money & Gifts do not mean love. I don't understand why guys mention the things they buy for girls when they talk about their love for her. Good Luck. |
Actually, I prefer to pay my in the early stages. I don't want the guy thinking I owe him something because he bought me buns & Coke. No way, Jose. Now if we've been dating for awhile, it's not an issue. Whoever brings the money out first, no wahala. |
Geez talk about a romance killer. there is some truth in what you said but in life there is such thing as "Happy ever after" may be you havent experienced it but there is. it might not resemble the ones in story books but it is alive and striving. so you are basically destroying your son's innocents. ahhh just let him read the books and let him figure out how the story "really" ends.I'm sorry, I won't change my mind on that. Can't having him running around the web, his head in the clouds thinking somewhere on the other side of the rainbow, his true love awaits him and when he gets her, they'll gallop away into the sunset. Tofia! I say let him learn early. |
Pataki:Now, now Mr. Pataki (like the name by the way), it's not the women who are all up in arms about this. I mean who said and I quote Pataki:Not just love but LOVE with 7 exclamation points! Hmmmm, Hmmmm, See. Hysteria. ![]() |
TOH:Whaa. . . I is only tryin' to help is all. LOL Jeebus! look at the men going off like 4th of July Fireworks. Chillax guys, it ain't that serious. ![]() What doesn't break you will make you stronger. I still say OP should be commended not lambasted, She's helping this guy become a stronger person. |
Pataki:The Kind of men who get all "What? heartbreak? Why? Why? Oh God Why? I will never love again. My heart is shattered to pieces!" over a simple break up. ![]() |
jay bee:Ooooh, Good one Jay Bee.I didn't even think of that. Alright, OP. . . we're going to need to modify our game plan. . . we'll call this Plan B. It starts out like plan A but the part where you go into hysterics, we'll change that. Instead, you'll take on a very. . . oh I don't know. . . blase, nonchalant attitude about whole thing. "Oh Ken? Yeah, that's just a guy I kick it with. . . nothing serious. Just something to tide me over until you get here. Oh man, I can't wait for you to meet him. There is NO doubt in my mind that you two will get along. He reminds me so much of you. Like one time, we were kissing and he did something with his tongue and I swear for a moment there, I thought I was kissing you" [Insert 10 sec Giddy Laugh here & then sigh] You have to SIGH. I can't stress that enough. If that doesn't do the trick, I'll take him off your hands for free. |
Heartbreak? This is what is pushing the men to verge of hysteria. . . that he'll be heartbroken? Pffffffft. . . Heartbreak, Schmatbreak. It won't be the first and definitely won't be the last. You men need to stop reading them Mills & Boons. . . it gives you false ideas about love. This is real life, there is no such thing as Happily Ever After. O. Kay. *Shaking my head* The Poor things, this is why I won't let my sons read Cinderella and all the other crapola books touting Happily Ever After. Oh well since I'm destroying illusions this morning, might as well go for broke. Guys, men, males. . . 1) There is no toothfairy 2) Santa Clause does not exist. 3) The sandman is fiction. You'll thank me later. |
Guys! Guys! Guys! CHILL!! No need to get hysterical. . . you're not women, you know. Now what is the fuss all about? She's only trying to spare his feelings. She should be commended not lambasted. |
Actually, the Teachers Association have asked Private School teachers to join in their protest. IRRC, some did for 3 days last week, not sure if they'll continue this week. |
LMAO! Out of everything in the article, it is my little wishful thinking soundbite una carry comot. Jeebus! |
Umaru Yar'Adua now. Even the name sef. . . sweeeet! Tell me you didn't think it was Obasanjo. Ay! Just kill me instead. |
LAGOS (AFP) - Nigerian primary and secondary schools remained paralysed Monday as an indefinite strike over pay increases by teachers entered a second week, union officials said. The industrial action will continue until the government heeds our demands for the implementation of the new salary package for our members," union leader Ade Ademeso told AFP. He said the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) had sent a letter of appeal to President Umaru Yar'Adua to intervene in the crisis. "As a former teacher himself, the president should understand that we are only asking for our rights," he said. The teachers launched a full-scale strike on June 30 to push the government to honour an agreement on an enhanced pay structure. The teachers had earlier gone on a three-day strike, shutting down primary and secondary schools, but suspended the action after the government pledged to improve pay. Teaching is among the worst paid professions in the oil rich country and the unions are demanding that the government start the new pay package immediately. The Nigerian government said it would pay the new salary to teachers in federally-run schools, but it could not compel state and local government authorities to pay the enhanced rate in schools set up by them. The union is however insisting that all teachers in the country should benefit from the new pay. ^^^^^ Okay, this is sooooo unfair! Poor Kids and Teachers. I've always wondered why Parents don't show their support by joining the teachers in their protests. These are your children for goodness sakes! |
LAGOS (AFP) - Nigeria has cancelled three lucrative oil concessions awarded to two Indian firms during a controversial round of bids last year, the independent This Day newspaper said Monday. The paper quoted a letter by senior oil official Sadiq Mahmoud as saying that oil prospecting leases awarded to Essar Exploration and Production Limited and Sterling Global Resources limited in May 2007 were revoked because the firms did not meet the pre-qualification requirements. The oil ministry could not immediately confirm the development, the latest in a series of investigations into oil concessions awarded during the era of ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo. President Umaru Yar'Adua who succeeded Obasanjo in May 2007, has vowed to reform the country's multi-billion-dollar oil and gas industry, which is ridden with mismanagement and corruption. Last month, the director of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Tony Chukwueke, was asked to go on leave pending the completion of an in-depth audit relating to the 2007 oil prospecting bid round. The DPR is responsible for allocating exploration blocs through an auction system. The probe is looking into suspicions that concessions were corruptly allocated on the eve of Obasanjo's exit, as parting gifts to his loyalists. In April, Nigeria's parliament launched an investigation of leasing out of oil exploration blocs and drilling between 1999 and 2007 when Obasanjo was in power. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080707/wl_africa_afp/nigeriaoilindiacorruption;_ylt=As5EPei2fq_JRH5p2yMgi3m96Q8F I love my uncle!!! |
When you are talking to him on the phone, mistakenly (and I mean purposely) call another guy's name. Like this. . . You - It was hot today, Ken. . . I mean John I was sweating like a pig. Before he can pick up on the name, you quickly say something else, as if you are trying to cover up. He'll think he heard wrong, so he won't say anything. You guys will continue talking and just when he is relaxing, BAM! you hit him with another one. You - Ken. . . John, remember when so so and so happened? (A fond memory of something that happened to you two) You wait for his answer. It would be slow in coming because he's weighing his option. . . should he answer your question or ask who Ken is? Doubt whirls in his head. Surely, she can't mistake me for someone else, especially when it is about a memory that means so much to us. He's thinking. You have two options here. . . depending on how soon you want the fight to start. 1) You can call his real name and launch into details of that fond memory. How Happy you were. . . blah, blah. He relaxes again, dismissing the whole thing. 2) While he is silent, you go "Ke. . . John. John, John." Repeating his name, as if you are trying to remind yourself. If you can throw in a curse word in there, do it but under your breath, this gives the idea that you are beating yourself up for making a mistake. Okay, now he is certain you called him by another name. He gets all "Who is Ken?". You response here is very crucial. You have to be very ADAMANT in you denial and if you can, raise the pitch of your voice as you go along, it makes you sound hysterical. . . thus making you sound guilty. "Ken? Who? What are you talking about. Who is Ken? I don't know any Ken. Are you Crazy? What Kind of Question is that? I Can't believe you'll ask me that kind of question. Don't make me angry oh. I'm calling all the way from wherever and you are asking me this nonsense question This is called "The Lady Doth Protest Too Much" response and it never fails in cementing guilt. At this point, the seed that you have another guy is firmly planted in his head, nothing can uproot it now . . and voila! FIGHT! |
Raimond:Caaan I git an Ameeen! Yeah, Ameeeeen! |
