Nairaland General › Re: What Could Have Been The Reason? by Sissy3(f): 8:08am On Apr 13, 2009
yes depression especially clinical depression and also bipolar disorder plays a huge role in suicide cases. there is a big correlation between the two. when a person is depressed, they feel worthlessness, hopelessness, loneliness, [external and/or internal,] negativity and all the bad thoughts goes through their minds and when this person is in such position, they decide that it is better to kill themselves believing that life is no longer worth living, that death would mean no more pain/ emotionally/physically cox depression is not only an emotional thing but also physical one. so taking their lives would mean the end of it. so that's why when a loved/friend/relative is depressed it is best to offer them help very early start by listening, listening is the keyword here cox if left untreated suicide is most oftentimes the next route.

there are also other causes of suicides like substance abuse, recent loss it could be in a relationship/ job/ a loved one etc

It can even be nasty on men too. I saw a white guy with hairy armpits and maybe it's because his hair was straight and long but it kind of grossed me out.

@ Ebony

I'm Forensic files fanatic never miss it! grin grin

i think it depends on the age of the child and the neighborhood/ how far the place is. if she is a little girl i wouldnt take that chance of letting her go my BP is already high enough!

@ stillwater

any reason for your decision?
Happy Easter. . .  wink

I don't mind the thought of children having TVs in their room. Infact, I'm for it.

If you have parental controls on the TV, why not? You can block the channels you think is inappropriate.

You can't/shouldn't try to block your children from the outside world affairs.

If you're concerned about the amount of time the TV's been watched, then make a rule about it, including the time they  start/ stop watching it.

Yes yes, we can't always know what our kids are doing or if they follow the rules or not. . . .But the positives outweighs the negatives of watching TV. Especially if you teach your kids to be responsible
hi dear happy Easter to you too wink wink so how many pot of rice and pepper soup did you cook today?

aha! i like this your answer so in your view supervision is the keyword. GOOD! wink wink

Wht are the basic advntages et disadvantages an only male in a family needs to know. E.G. Benefits attached of been an only son, necessary responsibilities. Etc.
Pls tender ya critical analysis et opinion either based on cultural believe or orientation.
1. What do i need to know as per concerning my family and her background?.
2. What responsibilities awaits me in the near future?.
3. Am i suppose to dominate or take charge over my fathers' wealth et property after his demise if he was rich?
4. Do i need to question my father about anything pertaining his WILL?
5. What should be my major responsibilities in the family as to what and what to interfare or decode.
These and Many more.
Pls also state if yor references are based on cultural analysis.
Thank.
1) know the location of all your fathers land and assets grin grin
2) taking/playing the role of a father to the family, acting responsible, and making sometimes tough decisions
3)depending on your cultural background, from ma place since you are the only male all the responsibility fall on you and you have to be a sharp, smart person if not you will definitely be overshadowed by those village hooters especially when it comes to family assets
4) yes, get to know all his assets, ask him questions about anything pertaining to the cultures/tradition of your land
5) i would say your major responsibility would be learning how to take charge, control the family affairs

finally dont let your family spoil you too much tongue dont be a spoil brat since you are the only son if not you are in big trouble

Family › Re: How Will U Handle Your Husband Infidelity by Sissy3(f): 9:14am On Apr 12, 2009
honestly, with things like this, infidelity in marriage it is a very serious problem and it isn't always a snap decision that one can just make like that though it might be easy to say things on here like leave, stay, or whatever but until you are in such real situation you cant really fully predict your decision/action when such things happen. so with that said, i don't actually know what i would do at first if i happen to catch him cheating cox i need to deal with the anger first.
