i do agree. parents should monitor the kinds of songs their kids listen to especially when they are young and still in your care, even as an adult i cant get myself to listen to some songs and their lyrics. most are filled with nasty and degrading words that objectifies women as nothing but a mere sex object. i find it sad because we are more than that. there is more to us than what is under our legs and up on our chest. many songs, and commercials are filled with sexual violence against women, showing men domination and treating women as only good for sex and slave, and when young children especially boys listen to such nasty songs, some believe that is how women are suppose to be treated and viewed, which is very bad because many grow up with such mindset. we own it to our kids to teach them how to become responsible adults and instill in them good morals and good judgments especially in a society where sex sells and women are viewed as second class citizens. we cant always protect them all bad music and commercials and all sorts out there but when you train them to identify the good from the bad, you wouldnt be disappointed for your message will always be with them. |
Ndeewonu:this shows you know little about reasons why men cheat. |
iice:is it with flat iron or chemical strengthening like the Japanese or Brazilian ones? |
really sad. |
H2O2:definitely a bad idea i would say.
i usually write in my journal while listening to some very encouraging music. writing my thoughts down in a journal really helped me get through some tough times, and it still does to this day.
i agree writing helps. it lets you express all your emotions and just be yourself |
i coudnt have agreed more with the womans daughter on this "if she was the one barren am quite sure that my father would take a second wife". see all the risks, length and embarrassment this poor woman went through just so to protect the impotency of this man? but lets turn the table and assume the woman was the one barren, she would be called all sorts names from being a "witch and eating/sacrificing all her children to having no "womb" because she has supposedly killed all her future kids with her enormous "abortion" and being a "man" when the man was sending her forth to "get/bring" him children he didnt realize that one day he would want to go to heaven"? my happiness is that the children are older now, at least they know better than their supposedly BS "father". am sure they have a mother who loves their dearly and appreciates them. |
both parties are equally to be blamed. when your govt. cant provide you with any means of sense of financial and economic security, it is hard to be a reproductive member of society which leads to poverty. also, when individuals fail to take an active role in their own life and pursuit of happiness and depend on the govt. for their every need and wants, they become a failed course because inasmuch as its the govt. job and responsibility to serve its people, you cant depend on the govt. to provide you with heaven and earth while you sit there and cross your legs. |
modern technology have eliminated those childhood plays. i mean how many kids would want to stay out building kites or build telephone with matchbox(aww memories) instead of relaxing in the couch and playing wii or xbox? |
no condition is permanent my dear. have you try bringing up the issue to your uncle, at least letting him be aware of the situation of things in his house? i ask because i have known many instances where such things happen and the man isnt aware of it. they usually "believe" things are ok because they are usually not at home morning until night and their wives behaves or make them believe things are definitely fine. and when the person leaves and maybe informs them of their horrible stay, they become furious because they werent aware of such happenings. you just have to realize and accept that some women have their hearts at their back instead of their front. so if you have enough money continue managing, am sure your stay there is only for awhile. be strong for yourself. however, i do suggest bringing up the issue to your uncle, if you havent done so yet. even if he doesnt/didnt do anything about it, at least you know that he knows what is happening, so that whatever happens next, he wouldnt claim he didnt know. am sure your uncle in the true depths of his heart wouldnt want his family member to starve to death or be maltreated under his nose. take heart dear, sometimes such is life |
Ndeewonu:true. but sadly not only our culture but society in general |
Happy B-day Ify more blessing and many more fruitful and blessed years to you! |
^^^ exactly. for some stress is the culprit of this things |
slimes:oh please! mistakes happen all the time. aggie80:and you dont know whether this is indeed an accident or not. thats why we have to give her the benefit of doubt here and assume it was an accident as the report claims. yeah many people do leave their kids in there for a few sec, but you have to also know that some who leave theirs in there, do it unintentionally. |
UzochiMan:contraception is not the same as abortion |
no mind them. the children that goes to bed hungry gets to ripe their lack of "common sense" reward |
i doubt it. she has 5 kids.this isnt the first time this kind of thing is happening. sadly it does happen |
if you cant support another child, apply common sense and use protection coz eventually the child is one going to suffer |
Fhemmmy:she is young and was probably distraught and confused after the whole ordeal |
not true. some men behave differently when around their mom and their wife. |
^^^^^ exactly |
Fhemmmy: Isawo and slept with her, despite her plea that she was a virgin and not ready to have sex.thats definitely is ra.pe cos she never consented to it. they should focus on the ra.pe where they can prove it other than the ritual which would be hard to prove |

ok let me get ma big reading glasses on ![]() good thing you took notice of his oversized weight because child obesity is a very serious concern. and yes its a very touchy subject because to many parents bringing up such issue means to them that youre questioning their parental skills and no parent wants that, while to many, especially in naija being fat is more often equated with be wealthy and healthy. so am hardly not surprised by his moms response you have to kindly in a nice way try to tell the mom of the many health risks associated with obesity and most commonly in kids Type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, asthma, high cholesterol, bone problems, the heavy one heart disease and like you already mentioned discrimination which can badly hurt his self esteem and self worth. now i dont think his mom wants to see his young son shooting insulin everyday to his tiny body and being in the hospital every time. and he is way too young to mention surgery his mom needs to change his eating habits. he needs to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and curb down on fat especially saturated and trans-fat. also high sodium and sugary foods needs to be on the low and fry fry stuffs too. she needs to control his food portion and dont give in to his every need and cries. basically she needs to start cooking healthy foods. and exercise, exercise, exercise. cant mention it enough. he needs to be getting enough of it. he needs about 60 minutes per day. and since you are usually with him, please encourage him and exercise with him. playing football, dancing, jumping, running, biking. he needs it. |
^^^^ true. but i dont think she really cares about her health cos if she did, she would have settled her legs and be on serious a treatment. |
am not supporting her or her actions. what she did was very wrong and no getting around it however, all am saying is we shouldnt be very harsh/critical in judgement because she didnt purposely leave her child in the car in that soughing sun. no sane mother would. it was a very bad mistake and am sure she deeply regrets it and have learnt her hard lessons. and good thing your mom was very careful thats what we want ![]() |
none is ok. no getting around it |
im confuse. are u suffering from the medical illness depression or are you suffering from erection problem? |
ceasyc:it doesnt matter whether the guy gave it to her intentionally or not. it is very inhumane of her to spread the diseases around. you dont revenge with something like this. instead of her to get herself treatment and change her ways she is there spreading it around. two wrongs dont make right. HIV is a deadly diseases not be joked around with. the worst part is that (if this is true indeed) most of these men she supposedly slept with probably have a wife at home and inevitable will pass it on to them, which they will turn pass on to their unborn child. the spread continues now tell me, if we continue with this attitude of revenge how are we ever going to curb, solve and eradicate the spread of HIV? |
can u break down ur posts into paragraphys? they are too jammed up. cant read it |
i didnt know that despoil has now become a bad word. how can r.a.pe be a bad word? i think the word despoil" is just trying to underscore the true meaning and horrific nature of that word and it shouldnt be. very embarrassing |
