So you are saying her death at the hands of the (THREE) drivers of the vehicle was premeditated?
if those passengers had weapons or drugs in their system or person, i'd understand them being charged, but to charge them for a vehicular homicide? Beyond weird
Accidental killing doesn't mean you won't get charged, it was an accident, but the driver's action still cost someone her life, so he will face charges for it, doesn't reduce the fact that it was unintentional, unless you can prove otherwise
At best it's involuntary manslaughter he says, but yet claimed it wasn't an accident? hope you see the contradiction in your statement.
Happy weekend, enjoy your limbs while you still have it, all of us that is, and stay off the road

LTGEN:
[s]No it is not regarded as an Accident anywhere in the world.[/s]
At best it is involuntary Manslaughter.
At worst 3rd degree Murder.
All those in the Car rightfully were arrested.
The Fact that the Driver did not have a Driver’s license makes it worse.
They have been legally handed over to the Police.
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 7:13am On Jul 25, 2020
She was walking and got hit from the rear of the vehicle? that said, who was claiming 2nd degree murder? This is involuntary manslaughter, not 2nd degree murder.
It was an accident.
And only in Nigeria would passengers in vehicle involved in an accident be arrested and prosecuted, they weren't in control of the motor vehicle, only one person was driving that car, and only him is responsible for this, not all 3.

Good job, and that's the same act that encourages corruption.
No military guy in his right mind would have taken money from a civilian in that kind of situation, yes i get what you did and all, but was that professional of him to have taken that money? Heck no.
Here i understand most of us use emotion etc, but regardless of how good your intention, he was wrong for that.
Now I'm sure what i wrote above wouldn't be a popular opinion, but think about it and tell me I'm wrong

ugo4u:
I did something that really felt so satisfying to me, I was going somewhere and the route I followed I saw some heavily armed military guys in two gun trucks guarding a house (possibly) they escorted an Oga(prolly a General) all of them looking fierce. I had passed them but my mind pricked me to atleast show a lil appreciation for their efforts in securing the nation. When I approached them initially they were kind of apprehensive, but they later loosened up and I had a brief but fruitful engagement with them, as per na emergency meeting when I know plan for I felt heavy not dropping a lil cash with them, I had to get a chilled pack of Soft drinks and snacks for them. They were happy and the same time surprised. I was impressed and a little bit ashamed when I saw the very small boy manning the machine gun mounted on their Buffalo truck, wallahi that guy no pass 20yrs. I was like wtf, I'm sure this guy haven't even felt the warmth of a woman na him carry this kind responsibility for shoulder? I just codedly squeeze 2k into his palm, I was awed.
We talked about issues concerning banditry and the insurgency in the NE, it was really an eye opener.
I have always wanted to join the army via SSC/DSSC (Officer Cadre) but have being quite unlucky as them no dey even shortlist me for previous exercises atleast for interview to proof myself before the board despite having every goddamn qualification and age is ticking very fast. After gazing for a while I just said(in my mind o)army should stop putting babies in the frontlines, make them sef consider agbalagba like us wey wan contribute our own quota. grin
Overall the encounter was worth it.

grin grin i literally just said the same, i tire.
If someone told us a Nigerian officer will reject a suitcase full of money and turn in the suspect, most people on here will tell you that will never happen, yet it did.
There are still good men and women out there in the Govt, military etc, we shouldn't lose faith and label them all as corrupt .

Did you see "speculation"
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 6:37am On Jul 20, 2020
offended? Why on earth would i be offended? And if you could read, you'd see where i stated "speculation", now once you figure out the meaning, you will get it.
It's like saying some guy's wife died in her sleep, then rumor start spreading that the husband might have killed her.
See how reckless that is? You don't make such insinuation without proof

You were kept silent? By who? it's lack of motivation on the path of the people, y'all live in a country where people roll their eyes an spit when talking about a corrupt political office holders, but in developed country, that's not the reaction.
So until the people en-mass demand accountability from their leadership, Nigeria will remain lost.
Nigeria is corrupt because the ordinary people in the country allowed it, nothing else

Stormtrooper11:
If we could do something similar to the french revolution, then our country would be set on the right path.since i was born,i have never seen an ordinary nigerian being treated justly by the gov't.we are kept silenced and cheated.why?.we lost over a trillion dollars already to big time corruptionand they expect us to be smiling.our problem as followers is that we accept too little.we must wake up,if we really wanna be great

True, but if that's not available, you improvise, not continue to walk into a slaughter. No trying to belittle the hardship and risks these men go through, but i think those in charge of these units are doing worse job

Odunayaw:
An Ambusher's aim is to wipe out the victim. The operational vehicles one enters an ambush with could be a matter of life and death. What ails the Hierarchy that they can't at least provide protected vehicles for High risk roads such as Damboa.
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 10:28pm On Jul 08, 2020
So soldiers got killed in the same area they've had ambush in the past, and most of you here want to blame Buratia? Is he the commanding officer? Who lead these troops and how come they couldn't be smarter in how they carry out their operation? The fact that they failed to adapt and neutralize a trouble spot shows poor leadership at the ground level, Buratai isn't gonna tell these soldiers how to invade ambush or how to drive their convoy, space them etc, or use scout, especially since this wasn't the first incident .
You can remove Buratai today, and another ambush will happen with similar result.
Clueless commanders on the ground is the problem here.

Don't know when this happened, but that footage just hit the site i got it from, and if they've had it before, they wouldn't re-upload it, so personally i don't know when it happened, just downloaded it and put it on Youtube

komekn:
This is from operation Serval that was over 5 years ago. I remember it because a number of VBCI were damaged but troops survived.

It's bewildering to me that only 41 French combatants have been lost since Operation Serval and now operation Barkhan. That's in 7 + years of deadly engagement in this region.

Do you think this is a fvking movie? You sit there and kept on typing garbage, grow the fvk up, the hell is wrong with you.
These men are dead, why the fvk are you dishonoring them? Perhaps ask why US captives never fight those holding guns to their heads, haven't you seen similar pics before? it happens, it can happen to any soldier from any country, once you are separated from your own and alone, caught, there is very little you can do.
They made peace with it, and they died without showing fear, honor them, don't continue your trash talk

There are few men in today's world.

If you see a Taekwondo black belter, whose belt was issued by the World Taekwondo Federation. And a trained mixed martial artist. Tell 6 men to fight him.

One kick on the head, you are in coma. One kick or punch on your stomach, you go down for 10minutes. Kicks to side, your ribs may break or kidney/liver damage. When you see trained legs flying, you keep your distance.

I come from a family of forces. I had a NIA agent, a soldier, air force and a policeman in my extended family. So, i know what am talking about.

BabaOwen:
Nigeria may lose 24 councils to new UN state

‘Obasanjo, Biya ceded territories in 2003’

By July 10 this year, Nigeria may lose 24 local councils, by way of ceding, to a new country to be known as United Nations Organisation (UNO) State of Cameroon at its borders with la Republique du Cameroun.

The Guardian learnt that the withdrawal of his country’s soldiers by President Paul Biya from the southern part of the planned UNO State of Cameroon has set the stage for the creation of the new state being spearheaded by the UN.

The withdrawal of troops by Biya was formally demanded by the former President of the United Nations General Assembly, Ali A. Treki on May 20, 2020. This was disclosed in a May 26, 2020 letter of the UNO State of Cameroon to Prof. Martins Chia Ateh, the United Nations-appointed workshops coordinator in Cameroon and Nigeria.

Ateh said in the letter: “Greetings and thank you very much for the attached list of those who were detained in the Nkambe prison of Cameroon in August 2008.

“It is only now that the soldiers of la Republique du Cameroun are being withdrawn from the southern part of UNO State of Cameroon.” He said it was a good thing Treki kept the records straight.

On UN’s creation of a new country in Africa, Ateh said: “I should be getting back to you once the United Nations finishes with an official announcement on the existence of UNO State of Cameroon to the international community.”

While conceiving the new state, the former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan invited former President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria and Biya of Cameroon to sign documents respecting their countries’ international boundaries.

It was learnt that Obasanjo and Biya signed the documents in March 2003 to cede their twin territories (Northern and Southern Cameroons) to the proposed UNO new country in West and Central Africa.

The UN, according to recent reports, pledged to actualize a new State of Cameroon on July 10, 2020.

Residents of Southern Cameroon were excited over the merger of their land with Northern Cameroon in Nigeria, comprising 24 local government areas in Borno (five), Adamawa (12) and Taraba (seven) states.

The Guardian learnt that the Southern Cameroon residents have since last year during their agitations to separate tagged the UNO State of Cameroon as “Ambazonia.”

In Nigeria, the new country’s landmass extends from Bakassi Peninsula in Cross River State to Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State in the Lake Chad region.

While responding to ceding five local government areas from Borno State, an aide to Governor Babagana Zulum said: “We’ll study the recent unfolding developments on ceding Bama, Gwoza, Dikwa, Kala/Balge and Ngala councils to the UNO State of Cameroon.

“The state government will also be liaising with federal agencies on how to cede the affected local government areas as Obasanjo and Biya had signed documents with the UN to respect their international boundaries.”

According to the UN workshop coordinator and chairman, steering committee, Ateh, the councils to be ceded to UNO State of Cameroon, include Bama, Gwoza, Ngala, Kala/Balge, Dikwa. Others include Madagali, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, Mayo/Belwa, Toungo, Ganye, Serti, Hong, Jada, Maiha and Jada councils.

It was learnt that before the announcement of the new state, the UN had kept Northern and Southern Cameroons under watch since Obasanjo and Biya signed the documents under the UN treaty.

Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of UN, Antonio Guterres has commenced the process of sensitization towards the July 10 date of creating the new state for the Anglophone separatists in Cameroon.

According to reports, Guterres has continuously reached out to the UNrepresentative in charge of the territories, Ateh to constantly organize sensitisation workshops on the brief history of the UNO State of Cameroon.

The UN is determined and constantly fingered as an interested party in the arrangement to actualize the new state.

The Nigerian government has been urged to carry out an investigation to establish the facts surrounding the ceding of 24 local government areas to create a new country.

According to Google Map, Nigeria, particularly in the Northeast region with a decade-long Boko Haram insurgency is sandwiched between its territory and Cameroon Republics, with Bakassi Peninsula and Lake Chad located south and northeast of the UNO State of Cameroon.

The new state will have a total landmass of 28, 214 square km with an estimated population of 20 million people. Last year’s 72-hour ultimatum given by the United States (U.S.) to Cameroon to withdraw its troops from la Republique du Cameroons was heeded by President Paul Biya last month.

Before the pullout, neither the U.S nor Cameroon had responded to the expiration date until Treki asked Biya to withdraw his troops.

The Speaker of the Cameroonian National Assembly, Cavage Yeguie Djibrilhad also asked the Cameroonian government to fully implement the new law on decentralization that seeks to grant greater power to local councils and regions.

Consequently, Biya signed the law on the promotion of official language in Cameroon, settlement law of the Republic of Cameroon for2020 financial year, last December.

The bill addresses the creation of assemblies of chiefs, regional assemblies and councils with each of the two territories having elected presidents, vice president, secretaries and public affairs management controllers.

Hijacked by what? anyways, this is simply your opinion, if you live here and are a black man, you wouldn't be talking this trash you just spewed, I've lived here for 17yrs, and the madness of the police here is insane.,So you wouldn't be saying what you just said.
The madness of how police treat black people here is sad, blacks are being ganged up and beat up by cops for not wearing masks, while whites are out and about massing at beaches without a single cop telling them to wear mask, I've found myself at the end of such abuse, this is utter frustration, sure some might gain from it,and opportunists will use this to loot etc, but remember, looters aren't protesters, these are two different sh!t, but to say protesters are somehow being exploited like they are some remote controlled robots, no sir, this is pure anger.
Learn the history, days when cops will unleash dogs on peaceful protests, use water hoses on them etc, this has been a very long time coming.
I ran into a protest last night on my way to the bank, only 4 blocks from my house, been wondering why helicopter was buzzing ahead all day, didn't realize this sh!t was so close to me, took a few pics too and video.
Point is, this is part of US history, no protest happens in this country without some violence, it's nothing new, this is anger boiling over, I'd join that protest too if I'm into chaos, but I'm not, reality is, the whole country need a reset, to have a cop kneel on the neck of an American citizen for over 8 minutes until he died? Who the fvk wouldn't be outraged by that.
nemesis8u:
The sole takeaway from this is

How the whole protest thing got hijacked from the beginning.

African Americans got played big time and it only showed their vulnerability to be used a tool for a means . Vested interests will only exploit them in the future more.

Isn't it interesting the no of whites who joined the protests and then the riots . At the end of it who takes the blame ? And importantly who becomes more vulnerable to exploitation ?

Thankfully some African Americans realised it , wanted to turn it back , but they were too late and outnumbered.

In the coming days any nationalist government in any country of the world is going to face similar riots / chaos in which vested interests will target sections of the society and exploit the emotions to create chaos to serve their interests .

Soros and his liberal cahoots must be smiling big time.

He did the same 5 years back when he engineered a similar incident back home with the help of 200 American citizens of Ind... descent and elements within c.ia with the help of whatsapp and social media.

Long story short , never burn your own home . If there are problems sort it by any means possible but don't go burning your own home.

I have no problem that America got a taste of its own medicine .

Now hopefully the American nationalists will deal with the leftist power centers within their establishment who create trouble in own and importantly in other countries.

And how many troops are deployed by these countries some of you are praising? Nowhere close to Nigeria's, if a soldier decide not to properly kit, that's on him and a sign of poor leadership, not because uniforms or boots aren't available.
For anyone to think the military wouldn't provide basic kitting to soldiers is beyond stupid, even if their shoes or whatever are worn out, there is no reason to think they can't get another, unless they have to pay for it, then perhaps that soldier will forgo it, but to say it's not given or available? lord.
Anyone seen our troops dress the way some do now when deployed on foreign missions? No, and those other African countries mentioned, i believe are deployed for foreign missions, and not even in massive numbers ( guessing here).
Our troops have been at this for what? about 10yrs or more? Perhaps i should go online and root out pics of Syrian soldiers as well, and you'd see some of them not well kitted either, as time goes on, all that kitting and sh@t weighs down on troops and they start letting them go one after the other, especially once they are already used to the environment they operate in

I guess you will use Cassava and palm oil to pay for all that military upgrades and jets huh? We aren't even talking about the tech transfer and know-how needed.
The moment Nigeria start amassing superior military capability( even during peace time), the West will do everything they can to stop it, these are highly jealous and insecure people, we won't get far before they try and stop us, and there are many ways, they don't even need to fire a single shot
clueless people. No power would want another potential power popping up, that put their position at risk, we already are seeing that with China.
Nigeria is so far behind, so stop dreaming.
I'm sorry, are you 8yrs old? I had to ask. But hey, good luck

NuclearBomber:
You guys always blurt things, smh.

The NAF needs 1squadron of deep strike jets, because we are surrounded by foreign military bases. We need that capability to be prepared in case of eventualities. This point is valid.

Our arguing friend involved aircraft carriers, 500,000 troops and NATO as reasons why we should not equip our NAF with the strike jets. That is what brought argument. Imagine undecided

I swear, the quality of people here is a cause for concern.

If the N-Koreans and Iranians had this mentality, they would have surrended their country to the dictates of US and NATO. But rather, they have adapted to the threats they face and developed.

Yes, US is very powerful but the defeatist thinking is not manly. And even expressing such views on a public forum is shameless and undignifying. I am still wondering the kinds of people here.

People like those cannot become Leaders, because when leaders give up, followers are corpses.

Nonsense. ...Because of aircraft carrier and NATO, we should not buy deep strike jets... Arrant nonsense.

We should but 200 jets instead. Smh.
