You said external, fulanis are also nigerians. now i don't support the idea of destroying farms or killing property owners, but its odd to call nigerians external within their own territory. unless those fulanis are foreigners. Nigerians have the right to live anywhere they wish to,within that country. Respecting the rule of law is what's lacking Valkrie: The fulani marauders...Are you leaving in Nigeria at all? |

compared to when the insurgency started, its actually way better contained compared to right now. where bh and Iswap dey now? inside bush. how many attacks have we heard of in Abuja lately? but in case some of you don't get it, some criminals attacking govt formations will only bring death and destruction to the general area. Nothing the military is doing, in terms of deployment is wrong, any country would do the same. like i said, the losers in all these, will be the people. So make anyone no celebrate yet. why should govt keep negotiating with every armed gang with a gun? they attacked police stations, free inmates etc, and govt should look the other way? Hoverbird: To the hammer everything is a nail. Nigerians are very poor at learning from history, the army will only worsen things they proscribed and killed them when they were unarmed it didn't stop anything and you think a military intervention is the solution? Opening fronts all over the country when you have a full blown insurgency you can't seem to contain seem to be a genius approach. Let's see how far they will go with confrontations especially when they start attacking pipelines and the economic hub of the country. |

Valkrie: Same way boko buy market since the past 12 years bah...? make una dey there..una no know wetin dey happen...ISIS dey Nigeria..wey army go concentrate on fighting external.forces nah people wey dey defend their tuff against external incursion dem dey wan fight...Nigeria never learn until it become hard and bad then we would be hearing let us negotiate with them for peace to reign...!! Anyone here wish war in an environment where they have loved ones? because i don't. So there's nothing sweet about war and violence. This isn't a movie. Buhari only work part time. Covert1: For once someone asked the right question. Where is the president? For years we have identified the chief problem and have since bailed. A man that turned on the leadership of the elite intelligence agency of this country because of religion, waited until too late to change the CDS and Service Chiefs, turns a blind eye to the menace of Fulani herdsmen, its ascetic to the worst core and the list goes on. This is what you get when the mandate of the people are not respected but mediocrity of the highest order foisted on some of the most intelligent human beings on earth who have no choice but to revolt. No Garba Shehu and his twin who routinely speaks condescendingly on Nigerians are not in charge but they are merely a symptom of everything that is wrong with Nigeria. The defence ministry, the CDS and Service Chiefs are basically running the show. |

Nigeria is a country on fire in numerous areas across the country, the platforms just aren't there to be pairing for jets and choppers for every mission or sortie. My own opinion Lurker4Long: I asked this before and all I got was posturing:
Why is it that your aircraft - jets and helicopters- don't always fly in pairs on sorties?
When Alpha 475 went down, the partner could have relayed precise coordinates to command, relayed intel on enemy disposition etc, to aid the search and rescue. |

Na so so big your tale dey get lol. but i enjoy the read. carry on. beginning to sound like a movie script that hasn't been released yet joscofelix2: some people hear report me again and my first account ban till tomorrow. from what i hear from a F7 pilot he say the jet was found yesterday evening after the phone pilot was track. he said that it was ISWAP that engage the jet, he said the pilot killed a top level iswap commander, some top government official from neighboring country , and some forgeein terriost from libya. he said that abot 4.53pm a unkwon plane show on the system. he said the alha jet was shoot down with a Manpad. he said it was a luck on iswap because the pilot where flying in very low attitide unkow to him that Iswap are waiting to ambush the jet. he said that the pilot ejected from the plane but shot dead by iswap the the second pilot whereabouts is unknown for now. they is a massive deployment of the naf speial force to north. may the soul of the pilot departed rest in peace. |

talk of a nightmare scenario ugo4u: With what i'm seeing fear dey catch me, if it is confirmed that jet was shot down by Bokoharam/ISWAP then serious wahala dey be that because it means that the terrorists have gotten hold of sophisticated missiles. This is a very big concern to the NAF and even the aviation sector in the north east. With a shoulder launched manpad any idiot can hide inside a gutter & bring down an aircraft, and with this development air sorties will seriously be hampered exposing ground trrops to waves upon waves of attack. This was exactly the approach used by the Talibans to deal with the Russians immediately they got hold of American supplied MANPADs they were shooting down Russian Helicopters almost everyday. It was really a game changer prior to that the Russians were using air superiority to decimate the Mujahedeens. Honestly my "afraid" is seriously afraid because those mad men could smuggle a MANPAD into Maiduguri and bring down a commercial aircraft. |

so who took the pictures? both in the air and on ground?. that was a question by the way. not insinuating that they shot it down. but if they took those pics, then the timing and coincidence is suspect lebuhsi: I seriously doubt they do, look at the distance the aircraft was hauling down from, it's obvious the pilots were not flying low, so there's no way JAS(they are the fraction that released the photos) would have been able to clip the bird with AA fire. |

i agree. and countries like the USA do everything humanly possible to prevent terror attacks on their soil. that's why we mostly have lone wolf attackers here willybaby: I can never compare Nigeria to the USA, Nigeria is barely in its 60s as a nation while d USA is Hundreds of yrs old, I only gave an eg to show no nation is totally safe or terrorist free |

but that's the difference. their leaders respond fast to things that might destabilize their nations. in our own country, we dont have responsive leadership. that's on us. we allowed these groups to grow and get powerful willybaby: exactly, whites protects there country while we blacks are quick to label and burn down ours |

And that's what you wanna brag about? a once in a life time occurence on 9/11? please. not about him glorifying the US. tell us, how many innocent Nigerians have been slaughtered by terrorists? is that what you want to compare to USA? dude. how much of US territory is in enemy hands? stand down player, don't go comparing. the madness happening in naija will never happen here. those terrorist will hear am. you have any idea how many guns are in civilian possession in the USA? sheet. they will fight back and fight back hard. that is if they don't already have capable law enforcement and military that is. i know the mentality here. no way some terrorist group will operate openly in the usa as they do in naija. will never happen willybaby: before you glorify your. favorite USA, in my own Naija a terrorist cell/ group has never hijacked a civilian plane and rammed it into a civilian or military building, I can go on an on if you want us to compare |

America has its own terror groups. and they've been around for a very long time. only thing saving us here is because they have an amazing intelligence gathering capabilities. also unless you are a minority or muslim american, they don't like to label their own people as terrorists, oyinbo people reserve that for everyone else. There are white terror groups here. that's a fact, and they've killed too. they call them "Domestic terrorists " Ddream6627: and also plz don't compare usa fighting war in other man's countries to ours, you think a terrorist network can last a year in USA I don't think so beside alot comes into consideration which they agree on peace deal with the taliban.... |

No mind some people. always throwing "maybes and i heard" all over the place. Especially negative info, its dangerous. i can only imagine how many lives have been lost in naija due to false rumors alone jpphilips: Its BS, those NCOs come up with craps most times, Boko doesn't need to pay a General or commander to Ambush troops, Ambush is integral in their assymetric strategy, we saw it in Iraq, Afghan etc, unless Alqaeda paid NATO commanders too.
What I think they suffer mostly is intelligence failure, as for asking them to pull out while on a near clearance mission, its normal world over, sometimes fresh intel show up in an ongoing mission which will pose a higher risk to the mission, what do you expect the commander to do? Sometimes it could be as serious as heavy enemy reinforcement coming their way then an NCO says, oga said we should pull out when we could've finished the mission, what if you don't make it out alive after finishing them off? |

Do you even know what that expression means? blood boiling over what? so someone gave his rank and a phone number, all of a sudden he's credible? lord have mercy. now I'm not saying he's lying or isnt. but his identity is unverified. why would i work myself up over this? left that country almost 20yrs already, all I'm saying is, don't believe everything you hear. that's common sense. anyone could have mentioned a rank, the fvk does that proof. make i dey search for a program? lol. someone dey pay me? please. All I'm saying is, people gotta stop throwing unverified bs around. Oasis001: Una blood go just dey hot anyhow. Yes he mentioned his Rank, mentioned his Beat in Maiduguri and some other Locations, which makes his Story kinda complicated to rule off.
He called a Radio Station Live, even sent his Number to Presenter for more Revelations. Instead of doubting like Thomas, you can try to search for the Programme yourself on Lagelu FM 96.7 I guess (11am to 12pm) on Wednesday. |

depends on how it work back in naija. remember it was a call in, normally any journalist or media house worth something would verify the intel or info given to them before publishing it, but if some random person calls in while their programming was live, that's different. in which case they should have made clear on the spot that the man's info was unverified and they will look into it by contacting sources and military leadership and then give their listeners updated info EricBraven: OK,what about misinformation |

Unless that station asked the soldiers to go and steal classified information etc, no such thing as fine, he allegedly called in on his own, why fine the station? For what? It's called freedom of the press, any info gained can be disclosed publicly, it's on the Govt to safeguard it's information. EricBraven: I just hope the NBC will fine the station for allowing a caller spill unverifiable information to the public |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 9:30am On Apr 02, 2021 |
And how do you know he is a soldier? Saw his documents? He mentioned his name and rank? Some no face person told a tale and you took it as truth 100%? You really think military bosses would set up own troops to be killed on purpose by terrorists? What have you guys taken the military brass for? Sure they might be negligent on how they treat the soldiers, but to purposely want their own men dead? lord. okay Oasis001: This Morning, I was bored, turned on my Radio App to listening to some local News. I tuned to Lagelu FM, was listening to a Programme between 11am to 12pm when a Caller called in.
He's a Soldier presently deploys to Maiduguri. What he revealed on Air was so heart wretching. In his words, there are Sabotage in the Army and most of them are top Guns. They would send you combat BH Insurgents, at same time alert BH so as to ambush and kill them.
I hope the Programme is recorded. Maybe I can find the Link and share it here, though exclusive to those who understand Yoruba Language only. |

And can you proof what you just said? What multiple accounts did he have and how did you know they belong to him? What's wrong with you people. Why mock the man, sure some stuff seem exaggerated, but he's sharing what he heard and the info he had, why kill the messenger, all these silly mockery will only discourage him, no need for it. We are all adults here, take the good and leave the irrelevant info out, think for yourselves, it ain't hard. I'm not stupid enough to think Nigeria will ever get an F-35 from the US, not even if we allow them build 50 bases on our soil , but still, let's take it easy and stop making fun of the guy. And to the person who referred to him as a kid, show some respect, unless you know him on the streets, stop referring to someone as a kid, you don't know him in person. shadowprimezero: How is anyone taking this guy seriously at this point. Even after the JF-17 RAAD-II childish lie. Its painfully obvious he knows close to nothing about military affairs, geo-politicts or even Nigeria's diplomatic and strategic limitations. I've noticed that the kid even has multiple accounts where he engages himself in a convoy.
Honestly, the typical quality of this thread has really taken a dip. It was once filled to the brim with highly intellectual and academic discussions on Nigerian defence and good pictures. It was solid content. I wish we could have a moderator. |

How can you possibly get an accurate figure for this? I'm sure not every encounter is shared with the public. and given the entire area of operations, you are on a futile journey. no NA 7 , Iswap 14 silliness. Whyem15: So peccavi said something about registering the number of gun trucks ISWAP captures and loses and I have decided to do a rough estimate. So far this month, ISWAP reported capturing 14 NA&CJTF SUVs(most are guntrucks), 2 from Niger. While I can confirm that NA/NAF have destroyed/captured at least 7(number should be higher because of NAF mostly; they haven't been reporting much. ISWAP captured 7 of the SUVs in the ambush operation outside of mongunno. So basically ; ISWAP:14; NA:7 will need help to adjust the numbers.
I assume this is today and at least 2-3 guntrucks destroyed. Please help with the figure. Edakun. We should be keeping track of some of these things ejhor. |

who in their right mind thought it's a good idea to arm students? where on earth are you guys getting these silly ideas from. how many of those same students are out there committing armed robberies and kidnappings? rapes etc. you think nigeria have security issues right now? wait until everyone is armed, you will only trigger bigger chaos. in a country where most ppl don't even know any thing about the laws of the land. smh. go and arm them. you are naive to think arming random civilians will solve our security problems, are they all law abiding? where is the national registry for criminal arrests and convictions? and does all the police departments in the country have access to such database? do they even have 24/7 electricity. lol. we don't have the infrastructure in place for any of this. instead of this constant talk of arming civilians, how about carry out significant police reforms? bring in trainers from other countries to train ours. for a big country like ours, I'd say try the LAPD or NYPD, I'm sure they have retired cops that will do the gig.(not that those two depts are perfect, but they police some lf the biggest cities in the world. stop the idea of sending a sokoto police man to Idanre to work. have 24/7 community policing, enforce the laws in rural areas and the country in general. and let the people there see and feel the presence of the govt, build more courts etc. but hey. hand out guns like candies, to bunch of uncivilized fool, just watched a video of a guy smashing someone's head with a metal pole m while the rest of the crowd was throwing huge rocks at him. he died. so he committed robbery, they committed murder, which is worse? those are the people you want to hand over weapons to? |
