PropertiesRe: Lagos Landlords: Collect More Than 3 Months Advance And Go To Jail/n100k Fine. by sjeezy8: 10:59pm On Jan 20, 2010
naijaway:
Lagos is on high gear with good control. Effort !!!! Effort is the key here.

The enforcement is going to be easy because if you are the tenant you can sue the landlord for any childish game he may want to start. This is just one of the great equality beginning and Lagos is once again a leading pioneer. The state that brought democracy to Nigeria. A great state indeed. Greed will be the next ones to be hit and many more including tribal discrimination laws, land size laws, individual rights laws, etc

May God bless Lagos state and amuwo odofin area, FTT.  Fashola is just my homie 4 real, and also a great Nigerian.
agreed I await the tribal discrimination laws and individual rights laws . . . . I know its commin

chosen04:
Can you Police such laws "with our N20 N20 Police men?". I will never work!
maybe in your own state but in Lagos implementing of laws and enforcing them is possible. The state itself has always been progressive in history since the 1800's and will remain that way.

Otobroto:
Lets say it from the reality aspect of it. No poor tenant can sue his landlord. Immediately you attempt that, you are a gunner!. Once you try such, he/she will device every means possible to get you ejected. He doesn't mind giving you three whole months to scram!. If in 3 months you are still there, may GOD help you.
The law would only apply to the tenant and landlord if the tenant wishes to bring charges against the landlord. If the tenant knows he does not have money to move elsewhere then he shouldnt file any lawsuit against the landlord. Thats how it is in America, UK etc and thats how it should be in Nigeria.

Its simple if the tenant doesnt have any other place to stay he shouldnt report his landlord and just pay whatever the landlord asks for.
PropertiesRe: Lagos Landlords: Collect More Than 3 Months Advance And Go To Jail/n100k Fine. by sjeezy8: 6:30pm On Jan 20, 2010
^^^^ what are you saying?

These laws are no different than what most expect in developed countries.
Good for lagos state for making these laws, the state is moving ahead.

PoliticsRe: Nairaland Facebook: Crook Ibori by sjeezy8: 6:03pm On Jan 20, 2010
Man that guy sure knows how to network to get what he wants. Ill admit even though he is a crook atleast hes not a tribalist lmfao

(haha see Tinubu in the background -the pic with the sultan of sokoto)
If only everyone in Nigeria can make moves like this- with progressive people and actually come together for a better Nigeria.

Aside from Ibori being a thief I admire the zeal he displays, it cuts across ethnic and religous lines. It should make one shed their ethnic shell, seeing as how the Elite from all tribes are robbing Nigeria blind.

Nigeria cant seperate (look at the elite from all tribes enjoying)

Unfortunately, you are wrong. She will never change. She keeps moving backwards and the blood of the innocent nigerians killed during religious crisis and killers walked free still cry against her geting any better.

Are you sure you have been to naija in recent time?
I was in lagos 2009 I cant say the same things in Lagos go for the rest of Nigeria, but if Lagos can work and progress, the country can aswell.

babapupa:
There's no need to keep going back and forth with meaningless semantics.

Obviously, we have different value system and sense of social responsibility, just because helping and showing compassion is a bad thing where you're from doesn't mean helping folks in need is not a good and commendable act. Just speak for yourself.

Till I see Lagosians rebelling, the government of Lagos state did the right thing and Lagosians are OK with it, end of story.

This is not about your greed and what the money should have been used for, it's about helping and compassion, something Lagosians knows a whole lot about, it's part of their make up and character. Lagos is the only best governed and prosperous state in Nigeria for a reason.

What's next, Lagos is bankrupt because they gave 1 million dollars to Haiti?

See, they have a lot of endearing proud sayings in Lagos and this wonderful gesture rings true and contextualize the sayings.

“B’oju o ba ti Ehin’gbeti, oju o ni ti ilu Eko”. (If “Ehingbeti is not in shame, Lagos will never be ashamed)

We are proud people and we do great things. Understandably, gestures like these is new and foreign to a lot of people, but not to Lagosians.

Well, let me rejoice Lagosly,

Eko aromi sa legbe legbe

youth corpers and civil servants in the north - maybe
I dont love Nigeria, I love Lagos
PoliticsRe: Jos Crisis : Constant Killings Could Lead To Disintegration by sjeezy8: 8:26pm On Jan 19, 2010
Yea its not funny actually but One Nigeria is fine with me, I dont plan on leaving lagos anytiime soon (maybe some other states)

Its best everyone go back home to their state of origin. No one forced people to return or move up north, its common sense, the day hausas and fulanis try this trash in the south it will be a different story.
I Dont really have any sympathy towards people who choose to live in the north.

I dont live in the hood because i dont want toget shot, so why are people moving/remaining in a place where they know they dont have peace of mind?

sammyzacks:
Patrick Obahiagbon, the House of Representatives member who once described a Senate-House row as “megalomaniacal”, on Monday became the first lawmaker of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to publicly demand an “immediate and formal” handover by President Umaru Yar’adua to the Vice President, Goodluck Jonathan.

“What is all the judicial macossa dance about Mr. Vice President performing presidential functions and yet cannot function as an Acting president?” Mr. Obahiagbon said.

Katsumoto:
I don't get you at times. Why do you reach conclusions based on the words or actions of one person? The other day, you were reaching conclusions about Yoruba intentions based on what Becomrich was advocating. Everyone on these forums know who Becomrich is and yet you took his words as gospel. It is almost as if you want Yoruba people on the backfoot all the time. Lam Adesina was only expressing an opinion, he wasn't speaking for the Yoruba in general.
I dont know why you spend time discussing issues with stu-pid people like onlytruth. He wants yorubas to hate igbos- which isnt the case, he wants it to be a yoruba vs igbo thing. or hausa-yoruba vs igbo which wont be. because all yorubas arent the same. Hes a slowpoke
Foolish boy like him wants to fight his way out of Nigeria if being a coward/sabotuer is a trait of the west, suicide is a trait in the east.

We can always have civil war but who will die? the poor so stop being selfish fooools

And I rest my case! Speeches apart, morality apart, principles apart, what matters always is the preservation of Yorubaland. So what is this governor Lam Adesina talking about? Who will fight with him in his fictitious war?
I know my people have already learned from such speeches in the past.
Amen now shut the hell up cause people like me were never going to join him anyway. One Nigeria is fine with people like me.
