I noticed processing time from Nigeria - work permit is 58weeks. If you have a spouse doing 1 year process, the person already graduated.

From the trend it takes 3/4 months although some takes more as mine took 1year exactly but optimally it is around 5months

Good afternoon house, my husband is about to apply for study visa, we were advised to wait till he gets there before my baby and I can apply, but due to Form A delays we couldn’t pay the tuition on time, by the time we made payment there was no seat for January and he has now been transferred to May intake, which is too far away for us. So my question is do you advice we apply together as a family or do we wait for his visa to be out, if granted then we use the granted visa to apply or do we wait till he gets there before we apply, kindly give your advice and how we can go about it as May is too far away to start my application.

Either way could work but it depends on three major factors. Finances home ties and probably career progression
If your finances and home tie is good and his purpose of visit suits the Visa officer then it is fine. But if not your spousr applying first will be a better option.

It is not free it is just government subsidized schools. And school year already started and getting a govt subsidized now might be difficult because most schools are filled up

1. You can apply anytime. I applied for my spouse july 22nd while my flight was august 3rd. Now when i got to canada i sent my study permit sin and invitation letter with my address via webform and email and her application and that of the kids were approved
2. Not less than 4months. The more you have the better for your application
3. My LOE for wife application was 2 pages. Her LOE was 2 pages and 1 page invitation letter. So it depends on ur story and your reasons for joining her/him. There is no hard and fast rule to it.

You can apply with the vignatte on ur passport. I mean your TRV

If you spouse has valid us visa he cant flagpole. If he has already applied and he comes in with a visit visa then u pay twice and get approval twice

Its not difficult just go with ur spouse to the boarder tell the canadian CBSA agent u want to flagpole he will take you to the US boarder. When u get there US will deny u entry since u dont have a valid US visa and u return with the CBSA agent and he will take all ur spouse document and 235cad from you to issue you a work permit.
You have to go very early cos it takes alittle bit of time

The children visa depends on their ages. If they are 5 and above it will be a study permit. Less than 5 can apply for visit

You dont need to becos they are going with someone with an SOWP TRV. My family is not here yet but from those that have moved you dont need to. Except the principal applicant too applied for a visit visa and not sowp

Hello guys, its really nice to be here reading from soo many gurus and all the success stories are quite encouraging. My wife got to Canada 2 weeks ago and i plan to join her soon. I read that SOWP takes atleast of 6months to be processed but visit visa is faster. I will like to ask for the suggestion of the gurus in the house. I will advice you apply for SOWP some come in 4 months and even shorter. Becos from my perspective it is easier to get sowp than visit especially if your spouse program is 2years or more.

SOWP PPR is here!....

Hello house, please rejoice with me as my wife's PPR just dropped. We applied on June 16 2022, review started first week in August and medical was updated to pass on August 8 (did upfront medical). Bvl letter sent on August 17th, and ever since then, no update!

Although we were worried why BVL was sent without PPR, we were calm as the application has been processed faster than we expected (65 wks processing time as at the time we submitted in June)

But on seeing the message that @Kam3 posted this morning that her/his PPR already dropped, I was motivated to contact IRCC since Kam3 submitted his/her application in July while we submitted June.

I immediately wrote an email to IRCC, explaining that we were yet to hear back from them since BVL was sent. I immediately received a confirmation email that I will be responded to in 5 working days. Since it's late here Canada, I was just about going to bed when my wife called that I should check her gmail for an email from IRCC.

Lo and behold, PPR message has dropped! That was just like 28 mins after I sent the email to IRCC.

I am happy to provide details of necessary docs that were submitted if anyone is interested in that. I am also happy to provide guidance for any future SOWP applicants. Meanwhile, my wife and I got married in December 2021, and I returned to Canada in January 2022. She just finished her undergraduate studies last month, so this good news is coming at the right time!

I want to use this medium to return all thanks and praises to Almighty God who facilitated my wife's SOWP.

I also want to thank everyone on this platform who has been so helpful in responding to messages, and providing necessary guidance on the SOWP application. Without your help and testimonies here, we wouldn't have been able to put forward a very strong application.

And for those of us still waiting for a decision, yours is next! Regularly pray about your application and don't lose hope.

And just an advice, when sending message to IRCC, be humble, praise them first, acknowledge that you understand they are dealing with lots of applications before making your request.

Good morning great people! I have an urgent question please. I have submitted my application for my study permit for January 2023 session without my husband and only child. I wanted them to be a strong tie in nigeria so the plan was to get my permit and have them submit theirs immediately i get mine permit approved.


My question now is at what point do i put in their application?

You are making a big mistake of making them your strong tie becos when u get the visa and u want to untie them and bring them to canada you will understand why you were not suppose to make them strong tie in the first place. Anyway on a lighter mood if you have not submitted your application i will advice that u strongly avoid making them your home tie use properties, job aged parents and likes that better.
Its just a simple analogy. You use people as a bond of return now u have now returned but want you bond of return to come meet you than invariably you are telling the VO that you dont plan to return. We all know the return policy is a scam yes but they always put it there.

What if the spouse in canada is a worker (not a student) and she is bringing in her husband with 3 kids, how would the POF look like.[color=#006600][/color]

The spouse in canada should show POF for the spouse coming and the kids. This is around 5k for spouse and 4k each for each child. Then the work permit and a job in NOC A or B. That should be fine. 12k plus 5k equals 17k for the POF and i will advise like 20 to 24k to all excess.

Hello. I was meant to understand that for a 1yr PGD/PGC, applying to go with my family of 5 is a red flag due to the duration of the course. I was also meant to understand that I can only qualify for 1year PGWP after a one year PGD/PGC program. This means that it would still be a red flag to apply for my family to join me in Canada at that time due to the duration of my PGWP (1yr). My questions are:

1. Does that mean I can only relocate my family to Canada when I get PR (after may be 3yrs) if I choose to go the route of a PGD/PGC?

2. How does someone with a second class lower degree take his family along to Canada using the study route?

3. Can my 10yr work experience alongside my 2:2 get me a direct Masters Degree admission in Canada?

4. Can a Canadian PGD/PGC certificate be used to secure a Masters Degree admission into a Canadian University?

If it is 1year then applying with family looks somehow except there is a crucial need. Becos you will need to assure the VO that u will return after studies. So going for a two year program is ur best shot. This was my previous advice.
The truth is before now some 2years back 1years PGD with family application alongside might have worked. But these days it is tougher to convince a VO that u will return with ur family after 1year program.
Also for sure u will get a one year PGWP after 1year program but that is not an issue you just need to get enrolled in another school for another 1year befoee applying gor the PGWP so that u can get 3years PGWP.
Also if u decide to go through the one year program alone then move your family in later you dont need to get PR before u apply for them. While you are studying you can apply for them based on emotional reasons. But if it is one year the vo might just overlook it since your program is not long. Hence my advice of a two year PGC or PGD program.
Getting a masters with a 2.2 is not easy like i said it is rare to find except your last two final semesters was very high. And moreso you left school like 10years ago so ur best short is PGD or PGC.
Yes your PGD or PGC can secure you an Msc after studies but i assure you that except you are very determined you wont ply that route. Because studying after you are used to making money and being a boss isnt a days job so your eyes will be on working immediately after studies

Living expenses for a year should be fine but i will advice u show a plan on how the second one will be paid and in doing that avoid stating the you will work to pay in canada.

It depends on your explanation of the study gap. If u are a matured applicant and have the finances to fund ur education and family relocation then why not? But getting a masters with 2.2 is very unlikely its a case that is rare. But getting a college PGC or PGD is very possible and a very good option

Hi Everyone, I am here to share my testimony and also drop the timeline of my application. It hasn’t been an easy road but God finally completed His work and to Him I return all the glory.
This was my second SOWP visa application as I had put in my first application together with my wife’s first study permit application early 2021 and both applications got refused. We had retained initially retained the services of a very reputable IRCC registered consultant in Canada and spent so much for this service, so getting a refusal on both applications had taken us off balance. In that confusion and desperation for a quick solution, I had gotten online and discovered the Study Permit thread on Nairaland which I thoroughly read through for weeks and kept coming across a particular name with people singing his praises and how he helped transform their cases and refusals to approvals through his detailed touch “Frankrobb”, I took a leap of faith and reached out to him and I must confess, that was one of the greatest decisions I ever made. After consulting with him, we agreed my wife applied alone for her second study permit application and when she gets the visa and arrives Canada, I apply for my SOWP to join her which we did and here we are, all visas approved to the praises, glory and thanks to God almighty. Biometric was from previous application and was updated on 11th May, 2022.

Did upfront medicals on 5th May, 2022 that was submitted with my application documents.

Medicals didn’t update until July 15th when I decided to disturb IRCC Nairobi and Abuja in July through emails and webforms.

PPR on 29th August, 2022.

The POF they dont run it anywhere after it has been certified and visa has been approved. Nah bobo be the point of entry stories. No mind them.

Hello, congratulations on your kids approval. You are not sending it as a single package, rather you are sending it as different packages and paying transmission fee separately and couriering it as different packages. I hope this helps.

You can send everything in one package but like @folla said you need to put each childs document in a smaller envelop and pay each childs transmission fee. This is becos you can pay same dhl fees for the whole package to and fro.
