technix: I will advise that you apply for visitor visa for all of them (I believe your initial application was submitted before September 7).
With that, they can travel together. You just need to explain in your LOE. Thank you @ technix i appreciate your response |

Saloiba: I guess I'm just confused with the word "use"? How does an applicant pointedly use something or someone as home ties? Is it not that the IRCC would consider the totality of the information one provides and see which ones could form a home tie?
Please pardon my ignorance again. I've never filled an application before now. Some in their eagerness to get visa state it categorically in their SOP that the spouse and kids will stay behind as home ties and later when they reach canada they apply for them. |

Saloiba: @skull4eva still waiting to learn from you and other gurus at the bolded. If you used them as hometies you will need to have more explanation to make to convince the VO that you are not running away with ur family. See it is on a safer side to use other things as home ties since you intend to bring in your family. Its better you use job or landed properties or company assets or aged parents and siblings because once you come here there must be a cogent reason to change your mind to apply for your family and cogent to you might not mean cogent to the VO |

LadyBlaq: Hello House! I just got my husband's gcm notes, the pre-assessment note is not looking good. I have basic knowledge on what I have to do to address the home ties, any more advice on what to do next, please? How many days did it take to get the notes? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by skull4eva: 12:55pm On Mar 16, 2022 |
Kuze1: Hello house, I discovered this after I had submitted. My situation is I have a previous Masters in project management from the UK; this was in 2009. I have applied for a Masters in the same course but with a data analytics direction in Canada. The primary reason I’m going this route is because my 1st child is presently in senior secondary school and I want to prepare for when she will be going to University so that the huge university fees can be reduced for herself and her siblings. I’ve been to Canada before on a visiting visa as I have an older sibling who is a medical doctor and a Canadian citizen. I also indicated that I would be living with her for the duration of my 2-year course.
I tried express entry but age is no longer on my side as I am 43. I stated in my application that my husband is my home tie as he will remain in Nigeria for the duration of my studies; the plan is to apply for him and the children after I receive mine. I got an Mpower loan to support my application for my entire school fees and have about N10m of my own money as I indicated that I am self sponsored.
I have been in my present job for a 10years period and provided supporting documents from my office and details of property owned by my spouse. I applied via the new portal. I’m just a bit apprehensive looking through the previous posts and wondering what my chances are Using your hubby and kids as home ties might not be a good decision since you have the mind to bring them in later. Its best you use aged parents or landed properties or job ties |

LadyBlaq: Hello everyone. I ordered my husband's gcm notes on the 11th of February, 2022. I got the mail below after that, with a 7 digit tracking number. I haven't received any notification or the gcm notes since them and I just want to know if i ordered the right thing.
Please, is below attached screenshot the usual reply one gets after GCM Notes application? for those who have succesfully requested and gotten theirs. Hellooo @ladyBlag please can you educate me on how you did this in canada here. I applied for one on jan 14th got it on feb 18th but it was through a third party site becos i couldnt navigate going through the 5cad route well hence I ended up paying 20cad. All other things has been done except for eligibility review which has not started up till the date my spouse notes was ordered. |

Aissy: first of all thank you for this, when you travelled with that huge amount, did you still show them your bank statement at the border? Or just showed them the cash? I was also thinking of holding some dollars and I don’t know if I show have the rest in naria in my account, since I have to still buy the dollar for my dollar account in black market which will be crazy expensive But you can show them your statement of account printed with you. After printing the statement withdraw the money and change to dollars. You can withdraw a day after nobody at the point of entry will request to see cash as far as i know. |

kennyjoy: Well you might be right about GTBANK coz I don’t know much about them. But for FirstBank ooo. $VisaGold card is $1k a day limit for ATM and 3$ withdrawal charges, POS & WEB are free and the limit is $6k, while First $VisaDebit card is also $1k with 1.5$ withdrawal charges (POS & WEB) are also free too.
What am trying to buttress out is, if you deposit $10k to any of those account, the charges you needed to withdraw everything outside the country is just 30$ & 15$ respectively which still make sense to me rather than carry cash. Like I said earlier not everybody get that nerve to change and carry that kind of money for traveling. U didnt get my final point even if you can withdraw 1k dollars per day no atm in canada will pay more than 500 dollars per transaction self. Anyway the person can try 1st bank like you said. |

PatrickOkunima: Bro, please permit me to ask, can't one transfer the funds from GT dom account to an account in Canada? No you cant except you enter the bank in person withdraw the dollar and now deposit it into ur canadian account even with all the new policies dey might not even do the deposit self |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by skull4eva: 8:51am On Mar 12, 2022 |
kennyjoy: This is not entirely true boss, POS and WEB payment with visa card are actually free no charges, while ATM withdrawal charge attract 1.5$ and the limit is 1k$ per day. I get your point about the charges involved but not everyone get that nerve to travel with that kind of money. Hmmmm i beg to differ i used my gtb visa card a few times and it was 3cad charge per withdrawal in fact if u use another bank canadian card on another banks atm it is 3$ charge i had to travel back to nigeria to withdraw my almost 6k dollars from gtb last year becos of these charges. Go to the atm and try it am speaking from experience bro in canada on a student account u cant withdraw cash from an atm more than 500 dollars except u do online transactions and that is a maximum of 1k even using a canadian bank atm except you call the bank to increase you money for that day due to a purchase you want to make |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by skull4eva: 5:18am On Mar 12, 2022 |
kennyjoy: In addition with what you just said, I think the best is to just open a Dorm acct get a Visa card, fund the account with USD as you can easily withdraw it when you get to Canada and saved it to your Canada account, thou there’s a daily limit and charges to every withdrawal. See on every withdrawal you are charged 3cad and the maximum you can withdraw on the atm per day is 500 cad cash and 1k cad online purchase on debit card. Now imagine paying 3cad on every withdrawal you are losing money which is hard to make here. I will advice u change the money to usd and travel with it. You can travel with as much as 10k usd once decleared. If not make it 9k900usd and dont declear nothing will happen becos you havent broken any law. In fact i travelled with around that amount and took it to bureau the change here and converted it to cad and deposited in my account. Its very simple. You can decide to change in bank too just that the price is slightly lower with few cents |

buchito1: Bros I have no idea about Domiciliary account. That's why I didn't talk about it.
If Return ticket would make you get 4K$ why not? Book it!
I booked for a return ticket too. Yeah i get your point but you need to arrive nigeria that in that date unless cbn will blackmail you and term you a fraud. When you now calculate the flight money to return to nigeria and to go back to canada buying black market will almost amount the same and it will not have the flight stress attached |

buchito1: If you parents decide to send you 3.5M to your account, that's fine. Instead use half of that 3.5M to apply for PTA and leave the rest in your account.
You can show the $4000 gotten from PTA to the Immigration Officer. And the remaining in your account, and a screenshot of your parents account statement..
This should do. Good luck. You cant get PTA except you book return ticket. And if you open a dorm account you cant transfer the money from dorm account to canadian account easily if dat is even possible. Aside that the bank will ask you to fund the dorm account from the black market in fact they will call the aboki to come meet you in the bank themselves lols |

Please do you need a transit visa to fly with air France? That question is difficult to answer directly of your airfrance flight only has one stop in france then you are enroute to Canada then no transit visa is reqired but if your airfrance has more than one stop on the EU a transit visa might be needed |

Thanks. Omo this one weak me ooo. Are you employed in nigeria? If yes can you get a legal bond on return to your employer and make your employer give you a one year leave of absence letter without pay?
