Mine took exactly 8 days from medical passed, medical passed on 12th and ppr 20th...Be on the watch sir, it's close. I will suggest your spouse book flights and prepare luggages along with the kids now.

Passport request!

Backstory: My husband got a job in Canada. He was in US while I was in Nigeria. He submitted both of us application together under his GCKey.

Both applications submitted on January 6, 2022
Husbands application approved March 4, 2022. He didnt need medicals and his application was obviously faster cos of his location.
We thought our applications will be treated from the same office but apparently mine was still transferred to Nairobi.

my SOWP timeline:
Application submitted: January 6th, 2022
Biometrics: January 7th, 2022
Biometrics updated: January 10th, 2022
Medical requested: March 5th, 2022
Medical passed: March 26th, 2022.
BVL: July 25th, 2022
PPR: July 27th, 2022.

The silence on my appplication was killing me literally so around 15th June I started sending mails and webforms to Nairobi.
I did it every single day for like 3 weeks. I wrote emotional notes and attached my husbands employment letter and pay stubs.
After 2 weeks, they started responding saying they were working on it. I guess i was lucky. I got about 5 or 6 response. like 2 were generic. others told me where my file was and that they are working on it blahblah. I think the webform got more responses than the emails.

After the responses, I stopped sending mails cos they claimed that they wont expedite anyway so i just kept praying and trusting God. BVL came and I was wondering what was going on again, until today! Glory to God.

In my case tho, I didnt need to submit my statement of account. we only used my husbands canadian employment offer letter. Maybe that covered. Honestly, I was worried but God came through.

Indeed, God is good.

I pray for speed for everyone waiting.

It differs, some 2days, 3,5,8,12, i saw 21 days recently but only count from the day the medical is passed.

The question relates exactly to mine. Please sir is it advisable to apply separately since the sp would soon expire or allow sowp to enter before applying. Because if the sp apply separately i hope that doesn't give the sowp issues at poe

Why is it that most Nairaland peeps always say $5000 for POF for spouse and $4000 for kids when on IRCC website it is $4000 and $3000 respectively ...Please is there another link to check. I need clarification please

Both of them are in Canada already, his husband is a student and still has over one year for his studies. She accompanied her husband to Canada on SOWP, but her passport only had 8 months validity then, so she was given just 8 months based on her passport expiry date. Now, she want to extend the SOWP because she got a new passport already.
So my questions:
Would she apply like fresh SOWP or there is a link to extend it?

Hello house, please I need some advice.
Wife got approved for SOWP and daughter got visitor visa. Issue is I have a little more than one month left on my study permit. My international passport expires in about one year when I got the study permit for a two year MSc programme. I have applied for extension of study permit.

Please, I want to know if wife and daughter can travel to Canada without any issue. More importantly, I want to know if I can book a one-way flight ticket.

The other question has to do with IRCC POE letter of introduction (LOI). Wife has gotten LOI from the IRCC since Thursday but our daughter is yet to receive her LOI. Please, I want to know if this is not an issue.

Application timeline;
November, 2021: Application submitted with upfront medicals for wife only as the document checklists says.
December 2021: Biometric capturing for wife only
Early June 2022: IRCC send medical requests for wife and daughter.
Late June 2022: Medicals done by gate crashing at IOM. IOM advised wife to also do new medicals because IRCC insists on it.
July, 2022; Medicals passed and passport request.

Hello Everyone, please does anyone have a sample gift deed for asset (landed property). Can I just get a letter from the person giving, stating he gifted me, and reason for the gift? Is affidavit needed? what of notary (I don't want to do this because it is expensive, they usually want to collect 10%-20% of the cost of the asset)? Do i need to change the name on the document to mine? Who should sign? And any information you think I might need for asset gift deed?

On behalf of a colleague, who's a student in Canada. His wife got her SOWP when she was left with just 8 months on her passport. She intends to extend it, would she apply like a fresh application, or is there any link for this kind of extension? Any suggestion on the relevant docs she needs to submit?

An application link will be appreciated (old or new portal?).

The medical test is valid for a year. Chronologically, it's already 12 months. The IRCC is right on this one. Your current medical certificate is nugatory! Consequently, I would advise you to go for another as soon as you can.

As you may already know, there's no pattern to the way IRCC operate. My children got their ppr 2 days after their requested medical results were updated. Meanwhile, I didn't get my ppr until 2 weeks later. In the intervening period, I was worried and then sent a webform. I am not sure that webform had any impact. In your case, I would suggest your wife do a webform reminding IRCC that the children already had their passports stamped, while she's yet to receive ppr.

With regards to the children, do send a webform on each of their portals reminding IRCC that they are still awaiting LOIs. The counterfoil is mere formality, given that their passports had been stamped.

Did you all book a return ticket to benefit the PTA from the bank?

How easy is it to get dollars from the bank currently? Is it even guaranteed for the adult?

Or is there another means of money exchange that will pay more instead of paying two way tickets for two people and getting only $4k at bank rate.
I've heard of lemonade, but does it present a better option? Or did you all just resort to black market for dollars?

To qualify to get PTA you need to book a two way ticket. And as at yesterday i was told that some banks dont have FX at all becos CBN didnt release FX to them. When i was coming last year july i used black market rate but the rate crazy now. I also git the info that FCMB has FX currently because am also looking foe FX before my spouse travels.

Appointment/Medical examination done on 6th July, 2022

Qlife uploaded Medical results on 15th of July 2022

Same 15th July, Ircc stated on my profile , saying we have not received your medical exam results..

I have sent to IRCC the e-medical sent to me by Qlife, yet my medical profile
has not changed.

This is my first time asking a question here although I have been following the thread.

I got my study visa for Canada earlier this year and I will be arriving in fall. My fiancé and I are planning on doing a court marriage before I travel so he can join me after I get there.

However we keep hearing that we should make use of a Federal registry in Nigeria as this is the only one recognized by Canada immigration.
Our initial plan was to use a local government registry.

Please I would appreciate more information on this.

Can we go ahead with the local government registry or it’s compulsory to do it with a federal registry?

I applied for SOWP since October last year and VV for my kids, subsequently, I applied for VV for my kids and I in dec but was denied while the kids VV was withdrawn from the SOWP application due to double VV application for them, I now applied for study visa for them using my SOWP GCKEY but they were denied again while the requested for updated documents for my SOWP IN June. We applied again in april and I got approved alone since last month while my kids application is still pending. I have mailed and sent webforms countless times to ask for their own visas please what do I do? My wife just gave birth and I have to be in Canada next month.
