You can withdraw it. Since SOWP has been approved already. But send ur passport for stamping first and get it back before taking any decision

All IMM forms completed as usual. Also included are my study permit, Visa page, proof of enrollment, school fees receipt, student ID card, invitation letter, SOP, land documents with estimated forced sale value, Bank statement from my account here in Canada showing about $10k CAD, mybankstatement certificate of spouse account showing about $5m with the CAD equivalent stated, Proof of relationship with wedding pictures and marriage certificate, ID cards of wife's parents and siblings to substantiate claims of home ties, CAC documents showing myself, wife and son listed as directors and shareholders of a limited liability company, wife in her business premises, etc

The only new thing I did recently was my current transcript showing my result for winter term 2022 that I sent through webform and emails. First, they rejected adding the transcript claiming that the email is associated with more than one applicant and so they can't attach it to the application. I raised another webform and also sent emails explaining that I used same email address for my child's visitor's Visa application since he is a minor and that explains why the email is associated with more than one application. I believe that resolved it and they accepted the document.

Now, I'm praying and hoping that my son's visitor's Visa is approved soon so that we can send the 2 passports together for stamping.

Its appears they have shifted focus now towards SOWP and the processing times will gradually reduce.

I pray this good news will get to everyone here that have a pending application. There seem to be no hard and fast rule as to how IRCC processes applications.

In all, I return all the praise and glory to God who made this possible. Truly, there is nothing the Lord cannot do. Na God get power pass.

SOWP for wife and VV for infant.

SOWP + VV Submitted: January 12th 2022.
PPR: June 14th 2022.

This our applications get K-leg to be honest. So, I came to Canada in September 2021 as a fully funded research student at the University of Calgary.

January 12th 2022, I submitted SOWP for my wife and VV for my child.
After learning about the SOWP applications' delays, I submitted a new VV for both of them on the new portal.

6weeks later, the VV applications on the new portal were refused. "Reason: Family Tie"
Then my child's VV on the old portal was withdrawn by IRCC. (Obviously, it is not possible to run two VV simultaneously)

Requested for GCMS note and it came with just one line "You have a strong family tie in Canada"

I refire both VV again on the new portal on April 23rd and tackled the refusal reason.

On June 8th, I received a Medical Request for the SOWP on the old portal (e-Medical slip that I submitted along with the SWOP application in January, which dem never update ooo), so I emailed them the e-slip that very day, and the status changed to passed within 24 hours.

To my surprise, my child's VV application which had been withdrawn on the old portal changed it's status to "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements"

Both approval, SOWP + VV came today on the old portal.

Wow back to back congratulations for 2022 applicants.

It also seems unfair to 2020/2021 applicants, i believe it's a tactic to make 2020/2021 applicant withdraw their application and reapply. I notice there have been changes with Indian applicants who were in this situation. They began calling IRCC out, and sending webforms for how bias they are and it work for some.

Silently reading nairaland i can tell only 10% MPs are helpful to applicants, 80% only check for updates, the other 10% won't respond. I understand the Visa is a privilege but we need to start calling them out legally so this can stop. I know of someone on here who's application is still pending since 2020.

Really unfair to us. My spouse application is 48weeks now. Nothing yet even the vv on thr new portal will be 3months by 25th of this month nothing also

My wife applied for SOWP and VV for our kids to join me (PhD student) in Canada. Here is the application timeline.

Submission date: November 7, 2021
Biometrics date: November 17, 2021
Upfront Medical: March 15, 2022
MP contacted IRCC: April 27, 2022 (Eligibility not started)
MP contacted IRCC: May 27, 2022 (Eligibility not started)

We have sent countless emails to Nairobi but we only received generic emails from them like the one below.
Please, what else can we do to expedite the visa processing? The waiting is disturbing and depressing.

I want to say a very Big thank you to everyone for their contributions on this platform and most especially to one of the best hands in terms of writing and reviewing of SOPs Justmellow of GCMSWRITERS (check him out on IG). After he assisted my spouse with reviewing his SOP for his study application (which turned out to be successful), we contacted him again for my application and that of my kids which also turned out to be successful. He is definitely one of the best at what he does and I never doubted his advise and suggestions even for once. I’m super excited as I use this news as a point of contact to everyone waiting on their good news that God will come through for each and everyone of you in Jesus name. �

Let me also add that I was completely scared about not having a travel history (asin my passport na and my children’s own na virgin passport) but God took care of it…I submitted a total of 1m Naira in my account, hubby’s account had about 10m Naira and 10k cads.

Whether it will be enough or not Depends on a lot of factors.
Ur tuition, ur province which will determing ur living expenses, ur program, is it only one dependant for the sowp or u have kids? Etc

Exactly the same with my application as well. SOWP was submitted Jan 2021, this week makes it 68 weeks and eligibility has not yet started. I recently submitted a visitor application with two kids on the new portal. The kids application was withdrawn on the ircc portal May 2(we will send you a letter or email with details). The spouse application was not withdrawn, and am worried as well. I pray they approve it soonest.

Did IRCC send you any letter as they said they will over the withdrawal of the Kids VV?

I’m Foreigner and my spouse is Nigerian. His VV PPR finally arrived.

He applied for OWP in May 2021 no update,

He then applied for a Visitors Visa in December 2021 which was processed in Manila, Philippines but was rejected, VO stated on his GCMS note that he had no reason to visit me and our infant child. It was heartbreaking, and triggered more of my anxiety and depression.

In April 2022 I got my study permit extension for a second program and visitor’s record for my baby.

We did several research and assistance from other Nairalander Thanks to @Technix and @lianna2020.

Due to his past refusal we decided his application should be done in his country of citizenship Nigeria and not his country of residence.

He decided to reapply for a visitor's visa on May 14th 2022 and got PPR May 26th today. 12days dang!

He checked his OWP application and Eligibility review has started wow.

Over 372 days wow, finally I can smile and I believe and hope his OWP gets approved soon.

Big Big shout out to @justmellow, @gcmswriters. I really appreciate your service. They’re very professional and dang! they interpreted exactly what I was going through. For me I wrote my invitation letter myself. I really needed to express my frustration, depression and pain being alone with a 10 month old, how my marriage is threatened, my health is threatened, my spouse being a Nigerian has to prove himself worthy all the time and having different traditions and culture. I attached chats and conversations.

PPR after visa rejection from US, Australia and Schengen. It's a pattern when he applies for visas from outside Nigeria. This time he used his houses, investments and family in Nigeria as ties to his application.

Due to the limited upload size for documents on his visitors visa application he sent more documents via Webform to address his reapplication.

I just want to say thank you to Nairalanders and the community. I don’t wish this delay on anyone. I hope his OWP gets approved as soon as possible.

Maybe they have started to work on their applications, I have read on this platform people that have a similar issue with yours, having their application withdrawn from the old and gets approved on the new portal. I have a feeling your spouse's SOWP and kids' VV will be approved. So expect your good news soon.

Guys please ooo i am in a serious dilemma i applied for a SOWP for my spouse alongside VV for my two kids on the old portal since july last year. The application will be 45 weeks this week. Now becos of the long wait I applied for VV for my spouse and two kids on the new portal in march 2022. Now i just logged in to the old portal tonight and saw that my two sons visit visa has been withdrawn since may 2nd 2022 ( like they just wrote application withdrawn final decision) for the two kids and my spouse application for sowp is till there active. No eligibility review just background check in progress. The kids VV and that of my spouse on the new portal is still active too. There was no mail to inform of the withdrawal. Please what can i do. In my experience i have seen this.
Should I mail IRCC?
Please i need quick response my people. My head get lots of thinking of what happened and whats the way forward.

Now that SOWP is 56 weeks and VV is 102 days watin we go take hold body bayii ooo. Nah to go book flight find my orente go naija be that oooo. IRCC there is God ooo

Even if there's a priority for in-demand jobs at least follow the processing timeline. I have sent series of webforms and emails with no response. I only see his webforms and emails on his GCMS notes lots of it haha. I wonder if i can send an email to them using a different email.

If u use a different email other than the one used for the application they will request for proof of representative to respond to the mail through that address

I also heard of someone with BSC accounting and got approved too. I think the spouse demand thing as well as application queue in processing and will be attended to as it was submitted thing is just a scam to make us rest. May God just pick my call and make they approve the application. Non the less I still keep bombarding them with webform and emails but they dont respond again. So just waiting going to 45 weeks now

I logged into my application now and saw application profile update only to check and discover on the medical status that "I do not need a medical test" but it was previously updated to pass since June 25th 2021, now no medical update on the application. What could have happened please?

I submitted application for SOWP for myself and study for my 2 kids on January 25.

May 5th my SOWP was approved but nothing for the children. On my application it shows background check and eligibility as on going and the final decision is your application is approved. They have also sent the letter that i should send my passport for the visa.

Please what can i do to make the children's application be released on time.
We have all done our medicals.

Congratulations it is indeed worth the celebrations. I will love to ask which country did you apply from? For the childrens visa I will advise that u send your passport for vignette stamping becos you only have 30 days period to do that I know that once that is received by IRCC office the kids own will drop too. It has happened here to someone in the past that they released PPR for two kids and withheld that of the mum and last child but once they received the Passport for the kids the PPR for the other two dropped. It should not be an issue since their application was included in yours. Or are they US citizens?

Please who knows about this case. I want to include this in my application. An immigration lawyer said it's ok to, but how do I confirm this case so I don't shoot myself in the leg.

My fear with this is what if the Vo thinks you have an attonney right and decides to put more of their useless constitutional quotes parrage blah blah whatever how do u respond back

While it is true VV is faster in the new portal, the refusal rate is quite very very high. Right now I'd just suggest SOWP, unless you have children and want to use them as family ties to NIGERIA. I.e, apply without them, if you are applying for yourself and the kids for VV, I am afraid the refusal reason of family ties blah blah blah may be states.

Anyways, it's your choice. And again applications differ and VOs differ too. Our prayers should be among others may the VO not be in a bad mood the day s/he will process my file.

I agree but no parent will leave children behind nah except they are of age and on their own. Dont forget the childrens future is one of the major reasons for migration in the first place. Leave children bawo. Vo must approve with children oo. Lols i really understand the angle you are coming from

For a spouse of student already in Canada since January,2022 and have a 2 years program to end in Dec, 2023. Do u think is better for the spouse to apply for SOWP or Visiting permit ( and then apply for work permit inside Canada). Please which one is faster and better?

Currently VV is faster on the new portal. In about 1 to 3months you should get a response. Sowp is taking a very long time currently and the processing times as at last week update is 46weeks. By tomorrow an update in the new processing time will be given.

What was the refusal reason? I feel they are just refusing Nigerian VV without any tangible reason.

To the VOs the reasons are tangible becos since u have an sowp application on anyone on VV might not want to leave and with this flagpolling of a thing then u stay as long as possible till u become PR although ur stay with the collected work permit through flagpolling also depends on the visa of the spouse so to say. So dey just reject or approve by considering the SOWP immediately. I have only seen an exception of someone on this trend that got both approved
