Merry Xmas to you
and your family. May the good lord whom we are celebrating in this yuletide grant us all our heart desires and a proporous new year. Above all, may we never loose salvation which is the cause of this season. As for pagans, atheists, etc Ecclesiastes 12 vs 1 is sufficient for who ever cares.

Hope u're coping well with the snow. Saw some not too funny stuff on CNN couple of minutes back.
Thanks Toba,
' it's now heading back to Scotland lol,

We don't need their acclamation on our financial system, as a matter of fact the current financial system in Nigeria is more favourable to them than ever before and trust me that's the reason why the US is passing good recommendation on it.

TravelRe: Do You Regret Moving Abroad? by skyone(m): 8:12am On Nov 13, 2010
Nigeria is not the problem, the country is blessed with everything you can't think of including weather but the actual problem is the ambition of the governing elements from time immemorial, the people, the governmental focus, culture and tradition. When you put all these factors together and do a thorough research you will surely find out that these factors are the enemies of Nigeria from attaining her actual sovereignty.

Nigerians flee from despicable outcome from these factors which has ruined so may destinies and disorientates fellow citizens ambition for good living. While they went else where for greener pasture many have acheived tremendously and the very unserious ones lost their focus hence blames everthing unjustly. Those who ALWAYS reminds them self that the world is a rat race and that one HAS TO BE cautious of his or her journey ALWAYS HAVE A GOOD STORY TO TELL but those ones with careless mindset blames everthing else on nature.

In a nut shell i think regret is down to individual and not abroad itself.  ( I HAVE NO REGRET AND I THANK GOD FOR EVERYTHING)

@ Poster

I'm afraid you were very myopic in your view and i can understand you cant just see beyond your nose; anyway 'it's a pity that you were unable to understand that 80% development happening in Nigeria is as a result of social exposition and education gained from several disciplines abroad.

Education gained from abroad have tremendously enlightened many Nigerians in the past , today and still on going. Many, if not all Nigerians were living in the dark until they left Nigeria and that reflects widely on Nigeria's socio- economic development which has immensely changed  the mentality of our  ancestors in which all they knew then was to cultivate farm, enslave people, lobby for cheiftancy, marry 10 wives and drink palm wines.

I also disagree with you on the issue of what job people do here and there, i will say yes it's not the best life but better than anyone who steal from national property or kill before making a living in Nigeria. You need to understand  the meaning of economic migrants, it affects all nations not just Nigerians.

@ poster

do you know how many years this other churches you mentioned have stayed?

The nigerian denomination are coming up gradually.
Years doesn't really matter here it is the founding principles and protocols adopted from the beginning that counts. A church doesn't need to be all over the world before starting something credible that will benefit the society. There are over 100 RCCG CHURCHES in the UK yet not a single school or hospital is built by them. When the Anglican church was on mission to Nigeria they started with only 1 church each in a Town even in a City and yet they manage to build schools and hospitals for our parents to attend. why can't these Nigerian denomination do the same?
Christianity EtcI Think The Nigerian Originated Church Denominations Are Failing! by skyone(op): 7:42pm On Oct 20, 2010
When i look at what the Anglican church, The Catholic, Methodist and even the Baptist church have done around the globe i feel very disappointed with our Nigerian created denominations, i think they have failed their congregates and even the nation as a whole.

I can't really pin point one single charity organisation that is known all over the world that is founded by our Nigerian church not talk of affordable education, affordable hospitals, institutions of integrity, community service etc. The worst are buildings in their Head Quarters, absolutely pathetic compared to that of the VATICAN, ST PAULS CATHEDRAL IN LONDON, ENDINGBURGH CATHEDRAL, NEW YORK CATHEDRAL etc.

What's really the problem? is that black people lacks the ability to create great things or is just lack of commitment to the real gospel and teachings of Our Lord Jesus Christ?

Though i thank God for Ps. Adeboye, Ps Kumuyi and Dr D K Olukoya probably they mostly surrounded by non achievers.
Christianity EtcRe: If I Sell My Property, Should I Still Pay Tithe? by skyone(m): 7:02pm On Oct 20, 2010
Zikkyy:
Your car is a capital item and you must have tithed on the initial income that generated the cash used for the acquisition.

if you made a profit on the sale i.e. sold in excess of the estimated market value (it may neccessary for you to consult a valuer), the profit (the difference between the sales price and estimated market value) is tithe-able. Another term for this is 'capital gains tithe'

If sold at a loss, i.e. below the estimated market value, it means you must have paid excess tithe on the initial income that generated the cash for the car. You then need to see your pastor for a refund. The refund is calculated to be 10% of the difference between the estimated market value aand the sales value. Its possible you cant get a refund cos the money would have been been spent to meet the unquenchable needs of the church/pastor, so you might need to deduct/recover from subsequent tithe liabilities/remittances (you dont need the pastor's approval to proceed with this approach).

This is the simpliest approach i can think of. There are other more complex approach, but am not sure you will be interested  grin
I share your ability of trying very hard to be intellectual but i humbly advice you stick to that very command of the ONE who made your brain and allowed it to function up till this moment.

Malachi 3:8-11

“Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, In what way have we robbed You? In tithes and offerings.
(9) You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation.
(10) Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this, Says the LORD of hosts, If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.
(11) And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field, Says the LORD of hosts;”

The earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein” (Psa. 24:1).

Let me tell you, you own nothing in this world, that's just the irony of it and if God is asking you of the first fruit (10%) of any income that comes to you He is only testing your ability to give plus generosity period. He doesn't need YOUR MONEY WHATSOEVER. Give or not the world rolls on but remember a farmer that sows  nothing reaps mathematically zero in fact  if care is not taking termites may come in to eat up the remaining harvest.

Yes its possible. In my case its also true. I am British, but ehtnically, I am Nigerian. To be proper "Nigerian" is a nationality, not an ethnicity. Apologies, but your choice of analogy is rather poor, as is your use of terms. Apologies again "Essex boy"  grin!
Mr Londonner dont be fooled about your British semetic, let me tell you the truth the british government knows their flesh and blood (rather different in America though) "you and i only have the legality to live freely here if we are to accept the fact in real grounded sense; we are not either English, Scotish or welsh, so get that sinking in to you.

Is it possible to say "i am not a Nigerian but my ethnicity is Nigeria" undecided of course it's impossible.

" Followers of Christ are called christians" therefore as we have illegal Nigerians so we have fake christians so move on from this idealogy and continue to do the will of JEHOVAH.
