sharp man: Ode!!! ![]() |
free2ryhme: https://www.channelstv.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/unknogn-gunmen.jpgThats all i hear about this so called leaders when people get attacked and killed. condemned it. Action freaking speaks louder than words. Get your stupid act together and take hold of your state |
WhyAWhy: There are many men on this forum who are 1 cent worth of a man. I wonder what you think a man is.You cant blame them. The average Nigerian Man is proud. Always pushing household jobs and babies stuff to his wife. Its not unusual for people to diss the guy.You see it everywhere. Go to stores around and you see the wife carrying heavy load and the man just keeps strolling beside her. When a man tries to help his wife like the man in the pic is doing, they insult him and maybe would say his wife is controlling him. |
This write-up on front page? really? really? |
esere826: My unnamed Uni was very good. Infact excellent in knowledge transfer.. but that was not the perception of recruiters u see.I studied at the university of Portsmouth which is currently number 78. 60% of guys and girls i know have all gotten jobs in our respective fields. Thats from a school which is currently number 78. You read about the girl from Birmingham University ranked number 22 that was not able to get a job.She blames the government for not getting a job. School like Cambridge , London school of economics , oxford and imperial college are on a different league.Yes, we know but that does not guarantee you a job.I know lots of people always complain "i wish i went to a better school, maybe i would have gotten a job" .The main reason some people don't get jobs is their CV. not schools. I don't think most organization care about what school you went to. It's what you can do on the job and you have to prove that during interviews. esere826: And come to think of it, why do people go on to further studies in Unis? afterall, some of us can actually self study to gain any knowledge we like.. just buy books and access to Athens and HBR. Much cheaper than the unisThat Life. Besides in UK, some Companies don't care about degrees. I remember going for interview and i was sitting down with high school students who never went to universities but did apprenticeship or gathered work experience. I went there thinking with my masters,i will beat this guys. Guess what? One of the high school boys got the job. It made me think back again to see where i went wrong.Degree are just papers if you do not know what you are preparing yourself to face in the real world. Thats what i learn. went back and i started doing self study and learning about my field in the real world. That was when i got a job. Seriously i would tell you. Its not about degree or where you got your degree, its about how you can persuade recruiters and employers that you are good for the job.Once you get a job in your field. with your degree and experience, you can always move to top organizations. |
esere826: True talk. No do like me oooo. Penny wise pound foolishCan you explain? Just curious as to know why you believe your school was not good enough? |
queensmith: I really don't know how else to put it?Me either, i just remembered you graduated from one of the top 5 universities in UK. Sagamite: Queensmith said she has a medical degree from a UK Top 5 university but yet argues that: |
queensmith: University in the UK is expensive, make the most of your cash by going to a decent one. That is all I'm saying, in the midst of educated individuals one shouldn't have to defend advising someone to attend Warwick . . . . . . .what you mean by the highlighted sentence? |
queensmith: Abeg please go, there are many Nigeria's there to keep you company. The bigger boys and girls are in the business school. Plus I'm tired of brainy Nigerian's wasting their talents in rubbish uni's. It's not much more than the other Unis. Scrape together the cash and go there! bless xxWhat you mean by rubbish UNI'S? Even a college degree holder competes with graduates from top universities for jobs. |
saxywale:Everybody goes through difficulties in Life. It does not help the young black generation if the present successful blacks always go with the phrases "i was discriminated against". There are other difficulties people go through in Life. but people prefer to say the ones that make them heard and it affects the young generations. Ask most young drug dealers why they got into gangs and crime. They will say the system let them down. The system never let them down. I dont belive the system failed most of this kids. Their parents did and the media who keep showing them a few successful black men with stories that they were discriminated against through to success. |
Sagamite: Kai! . I get what you mean ![]() |
itsmayiela: Good. Amerika and d world, una no dey announce dis kain tin 4 cnn and bbc or aljazeera ooooh......but if na bomb blast by farouk lawal, una go dey repeat am as breaking news for many weeks. Nobody hears wat happens in d pot, its only wat happens in the mortar they hearI don't understand what you saying. So they should announce that a black man has finally achieved a grade which other races have been achieving for a long time? |
armyofone: queensmith, you are right. it is hard to be black in the USA. i'm so proud of this guy and wish him the best.Just curious with the bold sentence. How is it hard to be black in USA? |
Emmy9ite: This guy reminds me of Ben Carson.... Ben is believed to be the best neurosurgeon in d world,Ben works at John Hopkins hospital and dz guy finished from the university.....Ben graduated from Yale university and d guy just got admitted into Yale,Ben graduated as d best student same as Emmanuel...Ben was also descriminated by d whites same with dz nigerian....Am proud of u namesake,am going 2 be greater..(am also going in for medicine)...The highlighted sentence you wrote is what i feel is wrong with the Black race. Every time they succeed, they always make reference to the fact that they face discrimination. I dont think this is a good lesson for young black kids because most of them would think of the negativity a black man faces to being successful and will wonder if they can go through it. To me, it makes blacks inferior with that statement but of course, almost every black successful person says that |
lol... Yeah, u r right, but remember that d colour of his skin is still BLACK (or brown.lol), & that can never be separated from him. Obama being described as the first BLACK president of the US isnt an insult, same as the description of this kid's achievement here. We are not all the same, but then, there is(should be) unity in diversity bro.
I understand what you are saying but its like saying to black kids."Look, a black man has finally achieved what other races has been doing over the years".How will that kid feel? he going to be thinking that just one out of millions that has struggled to make it.And you read all the stories of how he was brought up in a tough neighborhood and stuff. Thats is not helping matters. How many white successful folks talk about trials and tribulation they went through to succeed. But a black man is always quick to talk about how he was raised in the hood and how he could not eat three square meals. Thats how i think it sounds. Its sad when you hear black successful people who come out with sad stories of their past does not help the future kids in my own opinion. It makes the kids feel "well he got lucky". |
queensmith: I'm skeptical about celebrations like these, because it encourages racism. Is the fact that he's black making the grade special? Why? do black people have less academic capabilities than whites? Are we still in the stone ages? Do we know the first white?I was about to say the same thing? Why use 1st black man?Does that mean after all this years , a black man finally achieved. you meant to celebrate the guy as an individual, not by the color of his skin. |
2good: You cannot sue PHCN. It is illegal to have any structure below a high tension wire. The market women already committed a crime trading under live current so how do you sue PHCN for such? In Lagos houses are build indiscriminably under high tension wire and the occupant of such houses knows the consequence of their action yet they hope nothing bad will happen either in Jesus name or Insha Allah. I am not trying to exonerate PHCN but for this very case, you cannot sue PHCN.Its PHCN responsibility to ensure such places was never used for business activities in the first place. It was their job to either fine or arrest people who use such places. Well PHCN cant be fined with all the stupid cables they have kept all over the country. they will be bankrupt if such policies hold. |

Those guys being rough handled might be criminals or people trying to start a riot (from what i can observed from the pic) The other pictures is just an oil rig worker who took pictures with Nigerians. (how is that a problem) and for the police who held umbrella, it's very possible he has paid his oga to use the police officer as errand boy. The thing the police officers are doing is the same thing they will do to any politicians or anyone that drops money for them Blame corruption not this police officers. your post has nothing to do with the pictures at all |
computer science will definitively teach you programming while Engineering might go into Networking Well in Nigerian Universities, i really dont know what they would teach you |
Go there and make sure its a public place.(Kidnappers) and make sure you leave once they ask for money. |
SMH at the posters's ignorance. so once you successful in the entertainment industry, you are Illuminati. Just like saying every successful young guy in Nigeria is a yahoo boy |

queensmith: Right, for political sensitivity all those behaving a certain way are not yoruba, but 99% of yoruba's behave a certain way based on observation. #thatisallRubbish talk |

Your opinion will be highly appreciate.Dont know which field you are on but i have always though of security. installing security cameras which stored data to an offsite location. i think that business will boom soon in Nigeria. well if electricity is stable sha |
marvelck: Can a woman prevent her husband from cheating on her by being faithful, loving and caring. And also by dressing and looking sweet and sexy all the time. Can all of this keep her man away from other girls. Cos nowadays, most married women because of the roving eyes of their men, now wear all sort of sexy clothes, bum shorts, trousers, skirts, leggings and undies everyday just to keep their husbands at bay/home, and away from the snatching arms of other girls. But tell me, how can they stop the chicken from crossing the road? How can they stop their men from resisting or falling for the scheming charm of other girls/women. Cos some men cant just stop chasing girls no matter how beautiful, faithful, sexy or loving their wives are. there was one I used to know in Lagos, who had a very beautiful, faithful, loving and industrious wife. His wife was an head stunner, whom many were ready to give anything to have. but he wasn't grateful for what he had. despite having such a sweet wife and a lovely family, this man was also a chronic womanizer. who later fathered a child with another woman outside. You can imagine. And according to a lady, you can't change or stop a man from cheating on you no matter what you do, cos its in their DNA. tell me, is it true?Yes |
Temistatics 007: who told you that rubbish you are saying,i own and use a tablet pc,its hdd is 400GB,its ram is 4gb and with amazing processing power.Congratulations. Are you saying your tablet PC can run applications faster than laptops? |
Tajsagay: My work collegue jst broke up with her very rich bf. I was absolutely shoked coz I know he was really caring, doesn't smoke nor drink. Very devout catholic and also very very rich. I asked her, babe wetin happen? My mind 1st went to, "ok he's cheating, or maybe is a same sex kinda guy". She replied dat she decided to end it coz.....wait for it, he's too soft. She went futher to explain that when they argue, he's always quick to apologise even when she's out of line. I was like WTF. So Ladies, is that wat u really want? Cos am confused right now!Its not the first time i have heard of this. The girl obviously prefer someone who will talk down on her and maybe rough her up so she can cry and complain that men are bad. Then after she gets married to the bad guy which they life and the guy mistreats them, they start looking back at their mistake |
Amya: It's only a typical Naija guy that would see a babe and start confessing instant love. They may be in a serious relationship, but it doesn't stop them from proposing to random stranger, all just to get punny. Seriously!Typical Naija girl blaming her failed relationship on Nigerian Men.So its only Naija guys that go around looking for one night stand and pretending? its very obvious you have not see how other people of other nationalities run their own game apart from the romance books and movies you watch so you get brainwashed to think guys around you are the bad eggs while the good ones are other nationalities. |
Tablets are not fast enough. Besides typing on screens is not really ideal but i guess we have detachable keyboards but thier processing powers are not fast enough and they dont have a lot of space. Maybe in the future if they add processing power and diskspace |
