philfearon: Wow!! Our neighbouring Faculty!!

Are you a Law or philosophy student?

philfearon: Thanks bro!
Which level and course ?

Education/English. Final year.

philfearon: Jesus!! This time table is scary o bro......No time! And ah have not been reading!

I haven't been reading for my exams, too, but I've been reading all the same. Two weeks of dedication to my books will be enough for me. I also advise you to get and study past questions, it'll be of immense help.

Teaching a private secondary school. Consequently, I've improved in my field of study. I've also been offered proper employment after my final papers, until I go for service.

Advice of the day.

SugaryBelle: which time-table are they drafting pls,are we going to repeat the semester or what?
Are you in school now?

Rest of semester time-table.

philfearon: Thats cool! With or without lecturers,i will enter school to read a bit

Me too. I have to make use of the library for my project writing.

Fortunately, most lecturers are in school today. Virtually the whole Education lecturers are in school.

Dr. Richard Nnachi of the Faculty of Eduction, together with other lecturers, is drafting the semester time-table/calender today. I will post the time-table here when it's out.

onegig: depends on use. Batteries are electronic consumables you can't say how long they would last except if you are talking about use time per full charge then i guess for that price 3 to 4 hours max if you are just using simple applications and 2hours if it is movies you watching.

Thanks!

Just heard it on the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State, BCA. It was announced by the registrar. Listen to the 4.PM news. ABSU students, get ready to go back to school.

My school pastor also posted it on FB.

onegig: Depends on how big and scarce the speaker is . Might cost you around 2k.

Also on your battery ish . Shouldn't cost more than 6-7k depending on location.

Thanks. Do you know how long a new battery can last?

charlie193: Errors

1. Your sentence:"When I gained admission in 2009, I didin't really like it. I wanted 'pure' English, not under Education".

It is not I didin't .... it is "I didn't"

2. Your sentence:"I went to work today, but now I'm through for the day".

This is a very simple rule in English Language. Use of "and" and "but". The first one is a conjunction for two positive statements or negative statements, while "but" is a conjunction use for one positive statement and negative statement. In your case "and" is the appropriate word.

3. Your sentence:" When I read my hand-outs now, I see everything in 3D, HD and even ZD!"

This is also a conjunction problem (I guess you need to improve or read up about joining your statement). Better write: "Reading my hand -out now, I see everything in 3D . . ." OR just removed the "comma" and reconstruct the phrase into a complete statement.

P.S. Meanwhile, It is a good one from you. I rate you 80% (Oops! Did you say you studied English? If yes . . . Rate=20%)

Congrats!

The first is a typo. The others, I posted in a hurry 'cos I want to go to the bank. When I'm relaxed, I write better. Thanks for your correction, anyway. We live to learn.

Adaobi12: Teaching is a nice job. After my SSCE. i wrote my first jamb, i couldn't secure admission due to wrong subject combination. After staying at home 4 a whole year, idle, i was fustratd cos most of my mates have all gotten admission. One day,a friend of mine, told me that there is a school in need of a minder,if am interested, that the pay is 10k per month. I was reluctant at 1st. Bt after some serious think i accepted the offer. I worked as a minder 4 a term, the principal noticed how i talk,my gøod command of english, and how i help out the senior students in there assignments, she promoted me to the post of a basic 2 teacher. With a higher pay. Am enjoying my job now. I sat for jamb dis yr, I entered english education as my most prefered course of choice. My friends made jest of me for that, but am nt moved bcus am enjoying the teaching job,and will want to build a career in it.

My dear you're welcome.

Slim curtis: plz as a graduate of english n literary studies, what field can u work?

Media, telecomms, etc. Or you teach English/literature for the mean time.

TYTAN: I totally agree with you, my 2 kids after school(lesson) teacher collects N35K per month for 3sessions per week and she confided in me that she has about 7 other children she teaches after her normal school duties. give or take she nets home about N270k. she is just 23yrs old. I respect her. Think twice
