Sezbaby: I changed my passport between EE Profile and PR Application as the old passport was going to expire before the PR application could be completed. I used my old passport to start the EE application, then got a new passport and when I got ITA, I used the new one. I just explained the change in my LOE and had no issues. At least its been approved now. Like I explained earlier, even my wife used two different passports. One with maiden name for EE and one with married name after ITA. We never got any ADR for that.
Just explain in your LOE and attach scanned copies of both passports as your travel documents. Plus note that new passport has a row showing the Old passport number Thank you very much |

Trueigbo: Please i need clarification onvthis ielts. I and my wife want to take it. My question is why must we target 8777 score. You can surely target higher but this minimum scores will get you a reasonable CRS, if someone gets a 7.5 in listening for instance, that person's score will most likely be under 400 and they will need to retake the test.So aim for minimum of 8 in listening, and then 7 each for reading, writing and Speaking. If you need more points aim for 8.5,8,7.5,7.5 in L,R,S,W (in that order) that will give u maximum points attainable from IELTS |

40manlappy: Congratulations to everyone that aced IELTS. To those that didn't, please don't give up, keep pushing. Meanwhile, create an Express Entry (EE) profile (if you have not done so already) while waiting for your desired scores; you can update later so as to beat the "tie" rule.
Ask for a remark if you are convinced that you did better, especially if you missed the intended score by 0.5. Some people have even gotten an increase of more than 0.5.
@4wearegreat Nice spirit! We shall celebrate your ITA very soon. Hope you have created an EE profile already. Hello, My husband is the principal applicant, and we are in the process of renewing his passport, can we dive into the pool with the old passport while we wait for the new passport?(it expires by June 2018) Will we be able to change it easily before ITA? Or we should just wait for the new passport then enter the pool? |

mcstan18: My people, I waited so long for the results to be released before going in for a budget presentation. In fact, the thought of the results kept me cold all through the session so much that at a time, the CEO asked someone to put off the AC because he felt it was too cold for me. Him no know sey na IELTS result anxiety dey shake my body .
Anyway, I wrapped up a while ago and the first thing was to check the much awaited result. LRWS: 7.5,9,8,8.5. Even though this was better than the previous, 'L' somehow contrived to throw a spanner in the works yet again. By my assessment, I did pretty well in the listening test of January 6 that I expected nothing short of an 8. Well, it didn't quite happen as expected but as the saying goes, "winners never quit". I logged on to the BC site and registered for the next available test here in Lagos. Perhaps my early morning (Fast and Furious) drive to Ibadan that day might have affected my concentration levels, I can't tell. I shall be back again but with good news. There's no room for letting up
Thanks GlitteringStar and Mosbiod for checking. We go finally make am for this Canny journey Feel like giving you a hug. Been looking out for your post. Glad you have re-registered.IELTS is too small to stop the dream from becoming a reality. |

Most of us here are either Citizens or residents of Canada. Therefore, the majority of us may not be familiar with the cost/process of giving birth in Canada on a visiting visa.
Please visit this thread for more information: https://www.nairaland.com/1346880/giving-birth-canada Please are fertility treatments also free for PR? |

Although yours is Tbill, I know two people whose fixed deposit investments were less than one month when they submitted their application, yet they got PPR in record time. This is for informal purposes only Thank you so much, so did those people attach statement of their account or they only submitted the investment certificate |

coolangel54: Hello house good morning. I just got my international passport for identification when I write IELTS exam in July. I have a masters degree in English and one year experience (still counting) as a university lecturer. I just got married and my husband has an MPA , but self-employed, though he worked for one year in a guest house as a receptionist. I will be the only one writing the IELTS exam because of the issue of funds. Please, house I need your help with any advise at all on how I can make the band mark and increase our CRS score. Secondly, should we send our masters degree certificates to WES for evaluation or I send just mine since I am the principal applicant? He graduated from DELSU (Delta state university) and I from UNN (university of nigeria). PLEASE I NEED ALL YOUR HELP. What should we do to increase our CRS score? No baby for now. Just the two of us. Hello, To increase your CRS you both should write the IELTS exams and have both your masters degrees evaluated. Use this www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp to calculate your scores with or without your husband taking the test to see. If your score is lower than 400 then you know both of you have to take the test.Study hard for the test and aim for the highest points which is listening 8.5, Reading 8, Speaking 7.5, Writing 7.5 |

Thank you very much |

vcole: I think if you write a letter of explanation as to why the account is only 5 months old you'll be alright. You may want to include 6 months statement from your other bank account(s) though even if the pof isn't in them just because your vo might wonder where you have kept your funds or utilized funda from prior to the 5 months period. Thank you very much .The account is actually a few years old. Just that we started preparing it for this application 5months before submission |

mclarry: POF is basically for unencumbered funds or funds that can be easily converted into cash(liquid), documents that show property or capital payable to you, such as: stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills; documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you, such as: bankers draft, cheques, travellers cheques and money orders. POF can also be mutual funds, cash in a fixed deposit account, savings account, checking or current account, all of which must be at least 6 months old at the time of application. If you are currently 49.5 years old, then accessing your pension balance at 50 can be a reasonable deduction. Otherwise, pension fund balances will not fly.
Note: POF is funds readily available to your and family to sustain basic needs of life for at least 6 months after landing without any support from government or people. POF cannot be borrowed. POF can be gifted cash or cash deposit from an immediate family member only and in this case, your spouse and you still have to show proof of the source.
Any funds perceived by CIC or immigration officers as not readily available to your in cash in your own name, will not fly as POF. You will be rendered economically inadmissible in Canada if you cannot show the minimum POF required for the size of your family. POF will need to be maintained from the beginning of your application process until you land in Canada.
I hope this clarifies. You can get more details here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/become-candidate/eligibility/proof-funds.html
Cheers! Please has anyone ever submitted 5 months bank statement + 5 months old Treasury billz and gotten PPR here? |

Newmum0615: Hi sleekchic, I was working on this yesterday. Will respond today. The question is, will you be able to get your employer to modify the letter? For number two, I think it's ok to get the reference letter now. I haven't seen any specific requirement on that but ensure the date is not too far from when you intend to submit. I received mine 3 days after entering the pool and 1 day before ITA in December. So I think you are fine. Wow. Modify? I am not sure if they will o. I only did this as my NYSC and they actually did me a 'favor' by giving me this JD. Do you mean it won't cut it? Thank you so much for this selfless act |

Newmum0615: @seunfoster, please do as Kontagious has advised. It will make helping you easier for everyone. Hello @newmum0615 please can you help me check that I didn't over copy NOC 4031 (PHE teacher in secondary school) I got my reference letter today. 1. Teach students using a pre approved lecture note, textbook and other materials 2. Administer and correct classwork as well as homework 3. Prepare and grade tests and examination papers. 4. Attend all staff meetings 5. Evaluate each student and document their program and improvement. 6. Discuss progress of students with the school authorities when necessary. 7. Attend parents-teachers meetings and discuss each student 's process with parents. 8. Council students on personal hygiene and health. Please my 2nd question is that I hope it doesn't matter that my reference letter carries today's date when I plan to submit my application around April. Thanks |
