SkyWalk12: Hello Nairaland people. I have a public service announcement:
If you’ve applied and haven’t attended a Planning For Canada session, DO IT NOW!
It was amazing and more info than you can handle. I will happily pay 60k for that session but it was somehow free. When I saw 8am to 4pm, I thought “what can they have to say to us for that long?” But we used every minute and it was so worth it.
They told us that they are indeed pulling the program in August so it’s probably only the last batch that’s available. Go and apply now if you haven’t, you shan’t regret it.
P.S. There’s tea break and buffet lunch. All free! Would have loved to register for this right away. but we just entered the pool and we appear not to qualify for the session according to their website. |

Newmum0615: @fizzile she is right. Let there be an overlap in the dates. Even if you did not have an overlap, ensure that you use something like "Waiting to start new job" or "unemployed" in any period you have left blank. For instance, let there be an August 2016 end date for one activity that has another activity starting from the same August 2016 except you ended August 31 and started September 1st. Hi Newmum, Any update on your account yet? I tried to check through your posts to see if you mentioned anything. Just know you have a fan rooting for you here. |

fizzile: This is exactly what i have: september 2016 - Nov 2017: Msc July 2016 - August 2016: Unemployed( Resigned so i could pursue my MSc) March 2013 - June 2016: Employed March 2012 - March 2013: NYSC Dec 2011- Feb 2012: unemployed( was waiting for nysc) Sept 2005 - November 2011 ( Undergraduate)
Please could you identify the issue here please. I am not a guru but I feel like this is what they want Nov 2017 - date ..... Sept 2016 - Nov 2017... July 2016 - Sept 2016... March - July 2016... I have read it here that they don't want to see any day gap. So every day should be accounted for. Make sure the dates merge, ending one in July and starting the next one in August looks like one month was left empty. All the best. |

We're moving against the odds to measure up and land the coveted ITA. The thought of having to watch the 2026 world cup live has further boosted the morale of the brethren. You know warramin.
How about our US based "hawt" younger sister? Hope she's fine cos I haven't forgotten o. Lol. Thank you for the kind thoughts and don't be a stranger here. Hahahaha, my sister is fine o. Once you get PPR I will link y'all up *wink* I really like your spirit. Keep it up About the World Cup, my cousin told me the other day and I was super excited. In her words "have you heard that the 2026 World Cup will be held in OUR country" I was like yes oooooooo. |

salford1: Just 6 years ago, Immigration to Canada favoured older and more experienced workers, but it now favours younger migrants, higher education and strong language skills. Some friends that would have easily quailfied to migrate to Canada just 6 years ago can't even attain 400 points on the EE calculator, so if the current rule favours you, best to apply asap. Thank you so much for this |

I would also like to know if there is a maximum size of file that can be uploaded to a placeholder. A spouse can only claim points for work experience obtained only in Canada. Not sure of the maximum size |

Bawss1: Hi*
Nah, I don't think there is any reason to be alarmed as a permanent resident. After all, it was under the past conservative government that programs like the Express Entry and the Post-Graduate Work Permit were either modified or extended to help immigrants settle into Canada.
* You didn't ask me but I thought to post this in reply to your question Thank you so much, this is quite reassuring. |

salford1: Some people myself inclusive dislike trump but cant deny the fact that the man is creating jobs and lots of it in the US. I won't be shocked if he gets re-elected.
The Liberal are almost not existent in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Albertans can hardly wait to kick the Notley and the NDP out next May. Manitoba is Conservative too. With the addition of Ontario, that is four solid provinces in the pocket of the Conservatives. The Animosity grew with the Federal Liberal's handling of the refugee crisis, high taxes to fund social services, carbon tax etc. It also kind of smeared their reputation across provinces to an extent.
Even the millenials are turning away from the liberal party. Trudeur's fine boy charm no longer works like it used to. If the conservatives get into federal power, they would definitely reduce the number of all classes of immigrants, so anyone thinking of migrating should do so asap. The result from Ontario's election is highly embarrassing for the Liberal party. It was a tsunami. This was quite scary to read, what impact do you think conservatives being in power will have on immigrants that are already there, pardon my naivity but they can't reverse their PR status can they? How about in job search and housing or benefits,do you think it could affect immigrants in any negative way? How were things for immigrants before the liberal party came into power? |

mcstan18: You ought to have created the profile with your first set of IELTS results and ECA. Anyway, you should do that now and update the release date field after you receive your TRF. You may also choose to create with any of the older ones and update the record later with the new information. Thank you very much |

Hello everyone,
I have been away from the platform partly cos of frustration, hubby and I wrote IELTS for the first time Jan 6 this year, I passed at one sitting but he had to write it 4 times (being the PA) to eventually pass yesterday (Glory to God) we are now sitting at 440.with the tie breaker tin I am getting a little apprehensive and want to enter the pool immediately. We have seen his TRF number on the online result but the date of release of test results isn't online. So should we choose 15th of June as the release date, will we be able to edit that bit after we enter the pool? Or we should just wait till Tuesday as painful as that might be.
PS:Hubby loses 5points for age in about 3 weeks |

Please I need your input. If a dependent spouse is not claiming points for education and work experience,is it ok if she answers no to the questions below when the primary applicant is creating a profile?
Does... have any post secondary education ? Does... have any work experience?
I feel like if they answer no, there won't add it to their checklist. @Glisteningstar please what do you think? |

Hollarjunnaid: The exam condition is same with both BC and IDP with the exception of the crowd which is more with BC. However, IDP is strict with timing and their schedule for speaking is usually week day not weekend like BC. Also, IDP will give you water. Before I forget, they use new headphone. In all the exam is same contrary to the opinion of majority on disparity; hence, what I noticed is that the more you write, the more experience you become. Best of luck on ielts for intending applicants. That's the litu I can marshal for now. Thank you so so much. Was your center mainland or island? |
