Cannygirl:
Hello good people. Please I'm a silent reader and I appreciate all the input. I have written IELTS LRWS 887.57.5 ECA will be out this week.
I have some clarifications to make as regards my CRS scores and POF

I'm currently on 412 but was told I may have calculated wrongly. I'm married, 29years, BSc, 5years experience (in 3 different jobs; Public Relations, Administrative Officer & Customer Service). No family or ties with Canada

Seniors please kindly help with calculation and what NOC can I claim seeing that my PR and admin jobs are from 8years ago

For POF, I want to use my spouse's account. He has some funds in it but got a loan to the tune of our needed POF for just a month and we intend to plunge it into Treasury Bills for 180days, get the certificate, particulate the funds and return loan.

Please, is this advisable, has anyone done TB without the money being there for the entire number of days?

Kindly help a sister. Many thanks

Hi Cannygirl,nice Monika.

I got the same CRS putting in your details. I'll advise you have your spouse take the IELTS as well, this could add up to 20 points to your CRS and you could also get his ECA to boost your score. You can't use customer service as it is NOC C unless you were a manager. Check the other 2 under NOC A B or O

Now, as regards borrowing money. Please don't. IRCC advises against this.

First of all. Your current score is 412 so it's not like you are guaranteed to get ITA sooooooo quickly (not impossible though) .

Secondly, VOs are notorious for requesting for updated POFs months after you submit your application.

Therefore if you borrow, buy tbillz and then refund the money, what happens when they tell you to send an updated POF. My honest advise would be to look for the money elsewhere please. Don't embark on a lost battle from start. My opinion though

Same format, slightly different wordings, different font(in case they decide to copy and paste) . It is not inconceivable that you provided them with a format in line with CIC specifications. Nothing do you.

What really matters is that the company is willing to sign it confirming that your performed those roles. However, an uncanny similarity might make the VO think the references are "genje". He would just confirm them which should not be a problem since you actually worked there.

Thanks alot. I appreciate

Hello everyone,

Please I have a question, if I worked in 3 different places, same NOC same JD same Job title. And I was told by each of these companies that I should go ahead and draft the reference letters, I need to use 3 different formats and wordings right?

My work place as do most places pay salaries every two weeks (not bi monthly) so my first week was a pay week and on the Friday, I got paid but then I looked at the amount I was paid and did small maths and I felt it didn't add up, some small change was missing but I let it slide with the intention of waiting till I got my second pay check to see if the error would be rectified by then.
Two weeks later, my pay check comes and I open the payslip right in the office and behold the outcome was worse. I started wondering if the company had reduced my annual salary without telling me.
I was still one month into the job and I knew with my skills I could earn more so it was better to pathways with the company now than be cheated but I decided to wait for the 3rd pay check (5 weeks in)before going to speak with the MD. When the 3rd pay check finally arrived, I was certain I was being scammed and was going to talk with the MD the following Monday to get an explanation of what was going on. Luckily for me, I got to speak with someone that night who explained to me the difference between being paid bi weekly and bi monthly.

Please what's the difference?

Modified. I see you've answered the question already

Thank you all very much for the comments. Been very helpful.

Based on this, we've decided to decline the ITA.

But trusting God that a) IELTS don't try themselves and give one a disastrous score and b) CRS scores actually drop even lower, not just for us but for everyone on this thread hoping for ITA.

and @happytbaby, you were right re the points from my language scores were actually 20, so her score is now 429. So hoping that we get a Valentine day present of 20 points from IELTS to take us back to 449. cool

Smart Family. I'm glad to read that you are declining the ITA.I predict that your new ITA will get to you by 21st February, 2018 so please start gathering your documents so that you can submit by 22nd of February grin grin

Good morning y’all.Welldone guys! Pls I need help. I’m a Pharmacist here in naija but from what I’ve read,is it possible to claim internship, NYSC and community practice as work experience(s)??
I asked because my internship was in an hospital, NYSC was in a college of health as a lecturer and now post-nysc, I work in a community pharmacy(over a year experience). The hospital and community practice(s) are similar in job description but the NYSC is different .....so can I use the three? And if Yes,pls for that NYSC, will my certificate suffice or I need to go to my PPA for reference letter?

Pls help me.....thanks in advance...

If your job description for the 3 matches any in NOC O A or B then u can use them. People here have talked about combining NOCs. As for the second question, yes you will need a reference letter from your PPA. All the best.

I think something is not right with this first statement "Undertake day-day clinical duties such as walk-in clinic", please rephrase.

Please edit the last two roles for parallelism for example "suture cuts, wounds and perform minor surgeries", 'provide antenatal, delivery and post natal care to pregnant women' not sure if this captures it exactly, just an example.

Thank you so much

Better half? Thanks for asking. Yes I am looking.

A friend of mine shared her experience when she was a student, she called one of those 'free for ladies' ads and they told her point blank that they don't need her to pay that all she will need to do is grant them sexual favors. So yes it's not a no strings attached deal most times.

Hey people, I have a question regarding pof. My mum is providing my funds. I am a signatory to her account. I would like to know if I should just leave the money in her account and have the bank write a letter, identifying me as a signatory. Or should I just have it transferred to my personal account. Please advise. Thank you.

Better to have the funds in an account with your name. Have her transfer the money to you and please get a gift deed to buttress that. All the best.

Thanks Sleekchic..........The VO is curious because of our country of residence now (Germany) and because the PA is a student with 2 dependants. Also his bank here didn't give us a bank statement all they issued was a summary showing when the account was openened, address, names and the current balance. So I guess the VO didn't see the transactions break-down or the flow of money in and out. All is well

Oh i see.

I wish you the very best.

I will be looking out for your PPR post

Good afternoon everyone,
We got ADR yesterday on (a)Bank history for a year (b)provide details on the provenance of funds.
We have the bank history from the principals applicants account already but 80% of the fund was transferred from my account to his account without authorization letter because I got to know about the authorization letter from here after we submitted. Do I need to show my bank history too or just for the principals applicant alone. I also have a copy of the transfer transaction to his account can we include that?
What do they expect for the second question.
Please house assist me because we need to respond to the ADR as soon as possible. Thanks in anticipation

WOW!!! Your post made my heart skip a beat. 1 year bank history ke? WHY?

I looked up the word 'provenance' (it means origin or earliest known history of something) so i guess they want you to show them the earliest record of the money. maybe where it came from (your bank account statement in this case) or how you got it.
Out of curiosity why do you think they asked for 1 year bank history? how many months bank statement did you submit upfront or what did you submit as POF?

Hello great people. I did IELTS on the 6th of January. The results came out and I had a score fair enough to put me on a CRS 432. The issue now is that NASU is on strike which means that I can't assess my transcript. I am worried that I will miss out on a favorable draw as I am yet to 'dive into the pool'. What should I do apart from praying that this strike ends already?

Nothing you can do apart from 'wait and pray' Alot of people are caught in the middle of this NASU saga.

It wont be long don't worry as Unilag is pulling out small small(I am currently studying there for my masters and we got a message that lectures will commence this week) other schools will soon wake up.

Guys please don't be angry for the long post but this are trying times for me as well as "matters of the heart" concerning me and IELTS and they said "a problem shared is a problem solved"

I keep getting 7.5 on listening and 6.5 on reading even though I read/practice/prepare as if I'm going for MBBS exam. My practice score for both listening and reading are most often within the range of 38- 40 but "I still dey gbagaun for the actual test " dunno y cry

Here is list of things I think might I be doing wrong when it comes to the listening section:
i. I write all my ans in caps.
ii. I go back to correct the tenses and more often change from singular to plural and vice versa as the sentence required.
iii. In the last test I took; the question required you answers be written in two words and a number; the speaker called out a date of birth as "22nd the 7th 1985" and I wrote "twenty-second July 1985" was I correct? cos i'm thinking this contributed to my downfall and wouldn't want to fail such a question ever in my life.

In reading, I knew my weakness was T/F/NG; Y/N/NG and matching heading so I took out time to practice question on this alone until I started acing it consistently yet "I still enter 6.5 bus" lipsrsealed aside this I can't point a finger to what could be wrong with the reading section.

I planned on taking the next available test as "e dey hot" but on reading canadianfly's write up, I had to take a second guess cos she really made a good point; but my problem could not be practice as I invest good time in it.

Lastly, could it be BC

Hello,

I understand how you feel and i'm sorry you had this experience.

1.For listening i wrote all my answers in CAPS too and i had 8.5 so that is not the problem
2. I did that too.
3. I just wrote 'July 1985' I think the instruction was 'one word and/or a number' some people said it was '2 words and a number' and they wrote 22nd July 1985 but to me '22nd' is also a number(dunno sha) so that would have been 2 numbers at least.

The reading was very tricky i remember feeling like i was going to fail it, I couldn't even predict my score after the test.

I don't even know what advise to give you. But i know if you take your time again, practice again and Please PRAY!!!! you will do well, cos its not an IQ test. The most intelligent doctor i know is rewriting it also, so please don't beat yourself up about it. E dey happen. All the best.

@mcstan18 this your response is very wrong. It is not misrepresentation. As a married person you have an option of either adding your spouse or not.(accompanying or unaccompanying spouse). If after ITA/AOR (during processing) the PA decides to add spouse and send relevant docs to IRCC, then that's misrepresentation cos it will be deduced that the PA choose spouse as 'unaccompanying' just to claim points.

Hello,

The person that posted the question asked if he could apply as a single man even though he is married implying that he wanted to keep his marriage a secret and then later file for the wife.

Hello everyone. I am new here. I have a question to ask. Is it better to apply as a single person even though one is married and then send for the person's spouse later? Is there any implication?

Hello, welcome to the thread.

To answer your question it is never advisable to lie about your marital status, if you are caught, you could be banned for 5 years for misrepresentation. Best thing is to apply as a couple. It's harder to 'send' for your spouse later. You can read the thread from page 0 to familiarize yourself with the whole process. All the best.

In any case, there is opportunity to advise IRCC details of his new passport details if it becomes ready while your application is still being reviewed.
