Onlytruth:
Please explain how the killing of about 10 -15 prominent political figures in the north and other places equate the killing of about 30 thousand Igbos and easterners in the pogrom that followed.
I would classify this your comment as bigotted, but I would leave that to the moderator.
Did it set off a chain reaction or what?
PoliticsRe: Work Begins On $3bn Lagos Light Rail by sleekp1: 8:55pm On Dec 29, 2009
Its ironic that while fashola's AC is thriving in Lagos, its counter part in Edo state is fu cking things up, I hate PDP but Professor Osunbor was doing well before the courts removed him.

Foreign AffairsRe: South Africa Police Chief Blames Nigerians For South African Drug Problems by sleekp1: 11:15pm On Dec 24, 2009
Please we should stop defending the indefensible, its a sad fact Nigerians are over represented in criminal activities anywhere they reside. We should blame ourselves and not our host country.

You have the guts to publicly say you lived in a foreign land for twenty years,u are really colo.
I wonder why you didn't notice the absurdity and incongruity in some of your statements. Is this how your "brain" works?
A little while ago you thought I lived in Nigeria, now am "colo" because I said you're a sad parody of a black man who hates his birth country.
Am beginning to think by replying your  post I lend credence and undeserved gravitas to a ranting visa-less slowpoke seeking attention.
Your rant is diddly squat, it makes no f*cking sense.

I don't care where u live,u are not nothing but a dumb ass peasant.

There is a saying that goes this way in my place-Some nobles and their slaves were on a mission to a strange a land, before they left, the slaves begged the nobles not reveal their identities to their hosts as slaves and the nobles agreed.

On their way it pissed down heavily from heaven and they got wet,so on getting to their hosts place, instead of the slaves hanging their wet cloths on the line to dry like the nobles did, they chose to dry them on fire which inevitably revealed their identities to their hosts as slave because drying cloths with firewood is what slaves do.

You are what you are,not even the best educations and privileges in the world can change a miscreant.
Admit it I burst your bubble by letting you know I emigrated when you were in JSS 1. Why should I pour scorn on those I left behind because I was lucky to have left when I did?
If you morons think cleaning offices in the UK is an achievement wait till you return in 30yrs to find some of those you left behind CEO of multinationals.

shocked shocked shocked shocked I still can't see where "redsun " went wrong in your quoted part and needs to give up the crack pipe as you advised.
"Nearly 20yrs" is enough to be settled in the UK I think and if you are not, maybe you need to stop harboring illusions about Nigeria because I have never in "nearly 20yrs" seen any Nigerian succeed anywhere while having one foot in Nigeria and the other foot somewhere else.
I run a business in Nigeria and have invested in real estate, and if this is how your brain works you would have nothing to return to in 20yrs.
(Did you say you live in Nigeria or Europe)?
There are two kinds of Nigerians-Those that can make it anywhere and those that can't make it anywhere, I visit Europe often but can't speak for those who live it but some of us think that being anywhere is enough for them so they don't want to put in the extra work to get higher.
You just contradicted yourself there because that's my position. People still make it in Nigeria in the midst of all the chaos.
Tell me anything worth celebrating about Nigeria in "nearly 20yrs", to criticize the mismanagement doesn't translate to hate but love for the country if you ask me. To each his own jare!
There are lots of people here who make valid criticism and they are to be applauded, my gripe is with people who are  having a bad day and logging on to pour scorn on Nigeria. People like your idiot self, those who believe the govt is to blame for all ills in our society.
PoliticsRe: Edo State Launches Operation Thunderstorm by sleekp1: 6:17pm On Nov 18, 2009
What we want to see
Intelligence gathering and subsequent prosecution of kidnappers is what we want to see.

What we don't want to see

Taskforce officials hiding in corners and road junctions to collect hard earned money from motorist.

I know how this will pan out hence my pessimism, you on the other hand is ready to swallow everything coming out from the governors press officer.
You're the ignoramus here, I'd refer you back to these events in six months time.

Devoid of patriotism, what are u talking about?it is you people that are looting, plundering, killing, burning and deceiving  that are traitors not people that are pointing out the nightmares and trying to find solutions to the cataclysm.

The shame is for us all i know, but you people are the ones living it right now and we feel for you, most of us don't speak for our own sake but for the iniquities you guys are living in,it is not main to be.
@redsun

Give up da crack bro. People like you  made me post the above, your ignoramus ass thought I live in Nigeria so you can relay to me the beauty of London. Guess what nigga, I live in the UK  and if you'd bother to read my post you woulda noticed. Here it is again for your fragile mind to ponder.

"Nearly 20yrs of living abroad have not morphed me into what am not. We need to acknowledge, human beings built all these beautiful Western countries that we so love."

PS
If there's anything you want to know about London for the past 20yrs your dumbass should ask me.
See! some of us left Nigeria but still harbor the belief of returning home when the mess your ilk put us in have been corrected.

^^^^Nowadays you can even see them identifying themselves as British Nigerians on Nigerian Americans- because they have another passport- a mere piece of paper, they assume they are better than you with a green passport and they refer to Nigeria as your country or una country and when they come home, they hold their shoulders high like Timaya and look down on everyone else.
Some Nigerians in London  (the one's without correct visa's) would tell you they're Jamaicans even with  Ijebu accent.

Why are u so bitter over flimsy things?U better judge urself, man.

Its not flimsy when you see a generation devoid of patriotism.

PoliticsRe: Diasporians Are Sad When They See Happy Nigerians: Why? by sleekp1: 1:57pm On Nov 17, 2009
I concur with the views here.
If we had made Lagos into  New York our brothers and sisters won't be in the USA cleaning toilets. Nearly 20yrs of living abroad have not morphed me into what am not. We need to acknowledge, human beings built all these beautiful Western countries that we so love.

PS
The Nairalanders I hate most are the one's who when debating would refer to Nigeria as "your country", now  who told these goons they are Americans?
Some Nigerian JJC have really given Nigerians abroad a bad name  (am not surprised though), most of these goons sold all their belongings at  Alaba market and headed West.
PoliticsRe: Oshiomhole Administration Is A Year Old by sleekp1: 1:39pm On Nov 17, 2009
I must admit he has not done as much as one expects. We Edo citizens have lowered our expectations of good governance since we allowed the Igbinedions to trample over us for 8yrs. Since Edo state is still being ruled by the Igbinedions, I think Prof. Osunbor was even more effective in the little time he spent at state house.
Oshiomhole should distance himself from the Igbinedions or risk losing the support that brought him to power.

Of all the women and their tribes, only Yoruba and Edo women do drug coureiring in and out of Nigeria. If you talk of men, then Igbo, Yoruba, Edo and some northerners are more involved. That Lady must be Edo but not necessarily Bini (Auchi, Ekpoma) etc
How sure are you that she's Edo? Okiri is not an Ishan name so cancel Ekpoma. I think she probably carried it for her Igbo boyfriend.
Foreign AffairsRe: The Battle: Islamocracy Vs Democracy by sleekp1: 9:33pm On Nov 16, 2009
C me o:
America is not demanding much from Islamic countries but separation of religion and government to bring about fairness, justice, truth, etc as prophet Muhammed (SAW) thought our Muslim brothers.
Why should America demand Islamic countries remove religion from governance?
Why should America bully other nations to follow America?

Systems of governance have to take into account the uniqueness of local culture and practices, but America don't want that.
If its not done the American way then it has failed.

What is it with edo state and drug/prostitution,,are these not the so-called nigerians in diaspora??
Most fraud and drug pushers are either Yorubas or Ibos. Try and visit any prison in London and you would think you were at Kirikiri.
Though Edo women are over represented in the sex trade, most criminals remain Igbos or Yorubas.
Nigerian names in prison mostly starts with "Ola" or "Obi" so I was told.
PoliticsRe: How Many Diasporic Nigerians Will Survive. This Is A Serious Issue. by sleekp1: 8:01pm On Nov 15, 2009
Your question is stupid in the sense that the "diasporan" Nigerians you referred to lived in Nigeria before emigrating, so they would be able to adjust "in a hell hole place" if they were sent back.
PoliticsRe: HISTORY LESSON: Nigeria/Biafran Civil War Most Famous Quotes!! by sleekp1: 11:34pm On Nov 14, 2009
RichyBlacK:
3. Even if we assume that only Easterners planned and executed the coup, and no Easterner was killed in the coup's execution, do you hold the view that the subsequent July 1966 coup that targeted Igbo officers and the pogrom in many parts of Nigeria that targeted Igbo civilians were justifiable responses?

Guilt by association was the logic used to kill Igbos in large numbers. Do you agree with me that this kind of logic is always flawed in any social context?

I await your response.
All but one of the major players in that coup was  Igbo? The coup was an attempt to "take over" Nigeria by Igbos. For a long time Igbo officers were buying arms and shipping it to the East in preparation for secession and war. What did they expect as response?
PoliticsRe: HISTORY LESSON: Nigeria/Biafran Civil War Most Famous Quotes!! by sleekp1: 10:53pm On Nov 14, 2009
RichyBlacK:
sleek_p,

I can't believe you made such a statement! shocked
I made that statement because no one asked Igbo soldiers to murder top military officials of Yoruba and Hausa extractions. As an intelligent man I hope you don't join Eziachi and co who are trying very hard to rewrite history.

Sorry RichyBlacK but am getting sick of this "victim mentally" of our Igbo brothers, people of other tribes died in the war too.

P.S
