Quite exhaustive and well detailed. Only if the governors will help and play their supposed crucial role in governance. They and the local government chairmen are supposed to drive rural development in the area of basic health care, basic education, community policing, agriculture etc.

But because Nigerians for long have lost focus, all attention and criticism has been at the federal government, the president this the president that. No body wants to know what the state and local governments are doing. As if the essential reason for adopting a federal system that provides for the federal, state and local governments is no longer to bring government and development closer to the people.

Our local government councils have turned to gossip centers because local governments no longer do anything, governors in their greed, have long hijacked the finance meant for the local government developments. And nobody including the civil society organizations, NLC, NULGE etc is saying anything serious about that because they all expect the president to do magic and bring development to every corner of this country.

Well, thanks to mr President for his recent action in crediting the local government accounts with their various allocations this time around. Let's see if they will not wake up.
