Car Talk / Re: Hum Rider - The Car Lagosians Have Been Waiting For by slevin1(m): 6:23pm On Mar 22, 2017
AutoReportNG:
This definitely will be a good news for Lagosians who spent hours on Lekki, 3rd Mainland, Ikorodu Road etc, as the car you are waiting for has finally berthed. For regular commuters that know the pains of peak-hour traffic, it is something of a dream.

A car that has the ability to widen its base and rise up to a height that allows it to cruise over the top of other vehicles, eliminating any need to wait in line. Look no further than the Hum Rider – a Jeep Cherokee with hydraulic lifts built into the wheelbase.

Incredible car modification from Hum Rider means you will never have to sit in traffic again

Looks too good to be true, right?

That's because it is.

The Hum Rider is the result of a cleverly planned marketing scheme for Verizon Telematic’s Hum dongle, which adds diagnostics, road-side assistance, location and speed tracking and geo-fencing to your vehicle's computer.

Designed by marketing agency Thinkmodo, the hydraulic car is designed to represent the extraordinary driving experience the Hum dongle can provide users.

"In many respects, (the Hum Rider is) a bit of a metaphor, taking the ordinary driving experience and making it extraordinary," Verizon VP of Marketing Jay Jaffin told Mashable.

"Kind of what we’re illustrating with that crazy car that drives over cars."

Created with over 300 feet of hydraulic lines, the mechanism is powered by a single gas Honda generator, driving over 400 kg of pressure through the pipes to lift the car nine feet in the air.

The Hum Rider weighs a whopping 3,800 kg - also double the weight of a standard Jeep Grand Cherokee.

While it certainly is a shame this incredible feat of engineering is no more than a one-off marketing stunt, it is probably for the best.

If these things got out onto the roads, one can only fathom the kind of multi-levelled traffic chaos that would ensue.

Nairaland / General / Re: Killer Python Attacks Antelope For Lunchtime Death Battle – But Gets A Surprise by slevin1(m): 6:20pm On Mar 22, 2017
Olanews:
Pythons are known for eating monkeys, rodents, lizards, birds and – in some cases – animals as large as elephants.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUy-62ZNURo

But the bigger animals often pose a challenge to the carnivorous reptile as the above clip displays.

The footage shows a huge python wrapping itself around a lifeless antelope in the long grass.

With its prey freshly dead, the only struggle is finding the perfect part of the animal to start feasting on.

But the hungry snake makes the mistake of choosing the fallen antelope's head to chomp through.

And it doesn't go to plan.

While trying to open its jaws wide the python's mouth gets caught on the horns of its dinner.
The snake recoils in shock as it struggles to rip its lips from the antlers.

For a moment it looks like the reptile's face might get turned completely inside out.

But the python manages to pull its jaws free and quickly slithers off into some bushes to avoid any further dinner drama.

and sometimes animals as large as the elephant? Mehn I so disagree. Even the world's biggest anaconda cannot swallow a full grown elephant.

But this particular tribe are individualy domineering..go to any local government in Nigeria and they are present there, and they always have their domineering trait intrinsic in them...they will go anywhere and claim to be the owners of the environs,,they are the omo-Nile of Nigeria...

If you go to the east ,you discover that it is their very own leaders who they voted that are guilty of under developing their lands but they start accusing buhari...

Igbo will never be a president of Nigeria until they stop been greedy, although we can't take the fact away from them that they are smart people,we have Philip emegwali there..but how can they want to separate from Nigeria because of no reason...

Igbo people under ojokwu were brutally and murderously massacred because of ojokwu stubborn head, they even started resulting to cannibalism...

When will they learn

Domineering, yes. But that's as a result of their confidence.
Omo-Nile of naija, yes. That's cos they have a distaste for poverty and have a craving for success.
Greedy, yes. that's cos they are insatiable with success.

These traits u mentioned in ur write-up are just qualities of a determined and persistent individuals who wants to be better than who they were and what they were born into. The Hausas have been ruling for more than 30 years but their states still boasts of so much poverty that it'd be trite to mention it and would make me sound redundant. The least in invention, innovation, education, healthcare, but thrive in violence and ignorance. They have the highest number of corrupt wealthy politicians and have the best roads in the country as well. Is that progress? Maybe yes, if relative to backwardness. Have u read the latest released scores for common entrance qualifications for each state? U should. If your Sunday is as useless to u as you've shown it to be, I'm really really sorry about that. Hate Ibos all you want but they'll always keep being who they are and there ain't a thing u can do about it. Unless commit suicide of course.

It happened yesterday. I called my gf in the early hours of yesterday to come over to the house so we can chill or maybe hangout and have fun, but she told me she was on her way travelling to go to her uncle's house. At first I was angry, because this is not the first time she is travelling without giving me prior notice, but as usual I said OK, and she said she would be back by Tuesday. I decided to go to a friend's house because I was bored and on getting to my friend's house he brought up the idea that we should club that night so I agreed. We later drove to a club that night at Owerri (Cubana). Lo and behold who did I see sitting with her bestie and two other old men, old enough to be her dad, was my gf. She was so shocked when she saw me, but so I don't spoil her fun I sat and acted as if I didn't see her. But we both know we saw our selves. She has been calling me since last night but I have refused to pick. I am so angry that if I pick her call she would hate the words that would come out of my mouth. So am pissed off and don't know what to do because she is suppose to visit me tomorrow, and I really don't even want to see her, because things might just get out of hand, so I just want to avoid her for now. pls I need ur advice on this.
