Like I said, we will be getting a centre back. It's inconceivable we'll be going into season with questions over the defense. Even Arsene has stated as such.

Again, if Gallas had accepted the one year he would have at least maintained his original salary. It was the 2 years that was considered a gamble. Gallas on the contrary wanted an increase to his salary if he took one year. What happens if after the next season his legs begin to give? We are not the only club who does this. Kanu has been signing a rolling contract for 2 years now.

My defense here of the club's action doesnt mean I support it. I'm actually playing devil's advocate. Actually I really believe we should have offered him a 2 year contract on the same wages he was at.

But then like PHW said, its not like we are just being bloody-minded just for the hell of it. A lot of other clubs seem to agree, as he is yet to get what he wants.
