All players don't need to get along but teams without these squabbles tend to perform better! There's a reason Wayne Bridge wants none of the Three Lions. All these were even before Da Grin's first album. And I'm sure there were some others too. Might be a contentious opinion but even 9ice had well infused Yoruba into his genre(some say its hip hop) long before Da Grin.

However that ponited out, I believe you are right in the issue of influences, but you seem to constraint yourself when you are talking about choice of words and the extent of the yoruba vocab. What is importatnt he has taken elements and structures that exist in 'foreign' hip hop and done it well in the yoruba context multies, punchlines, word plays and what not.

I read some post back Rhymstein talkin about how many multies DaGrin get sef. . . .ol boy he get plenty o, no be lie.

However on the matter of flow, I still say Da Grin was undoubtedly one of the best.

You call it consistency i call it stagnation. DBR abeg give Omo Ogun his due, rhyming in Yoruba is quite easy it is however not really as easy as you think to multi-in yoruba and still make sense. For a very good example of this I refer you to Photocop. 9ice really did take it to another level in there.

However the debate really was how good was Da-Grin's flow. I have no doubt he had one of the best flows on the 9ja scene, maybe you could come up with some one else you felt had better.
