We need to vent ideas in this forum based solely on maturity, and exchange of sound thinking so as to learn more, its so unfortunate that many like you chose to turn it to a market place where u propagate warped ideas and falsehood and curse anyone that tries to enlighten you....the worst part is u dnt even know who u are cursing? DID you see quoting any of them that insulted me?? NO Just leave them to continue living in denial, I know it's illiteracy that's running in their system. Let them be. 1 Like |

Nonybb: PACKET OF LIES! Willie Obiano i will sincerely say with the depth of my heart, will NOT CREDIBLY win the Guber race. He is a disguise of Gov Peter Obi. Fegge Onitsha is still a mess. The roads leading to main markets, the purported biggest market in africa some decades ago, are left to further degrade and decay. No public water supply in Onitsha, and perhaps Anambra state as a whole. Peter Obi undisputedly is a christian Bigot. He suffers Nepotism and fanatism. He wants to enslave Anambra in God-fatherism mentality, a clark we had managed to escape in the state during the time past. He favours catholic more than Anglican and choosed willie because he is a catholic. Peter can not boost of modern infrastructural development as obtained in some neigbhbouring state. Wat he knws is how to dole our cash to traditional institute to buy them. I have lived in Anambra state since i was born. I went to the prestigious Christ the College Onitsha so i am not talking as an outsider. I dont belong to any political party and my voice are clearly based as a concerned citizen. We cant afford to waste another 4 years through Obi's mechanical and political controlled puppettes. We need a change but i clearly dont knw how it would come. Im not here to support Ngige either. I am here because i think Willie is not progressive enough. Lets us shun sentiments and elected a new leader that wouldnt tie us to the debts, whims and coprice of Peter Obi. Being an international banker doesnt make u a credible leader. Peter is putting one of his own to further subject us to God fatherism. Let us say no to this archaic and barbaric system of leadership and imposition. Enough is enough. Anambra state must develop. Lets evolve like others and stop living in a world of self denial and reckless disenchantment. Time4CHANGE MY PEOPLE. I dont knw who u might want to VOTE but pls we need a change My brother, for still trying to live in denial that Obi is not working, then you are not an Anambra based person. The rate at which Anambra is industrializing is a bombshell. The part of infrastructure is true that he doesn't build much but instead invest them in the job sector so the populace can be independent through the salary they earn. Favouring the Catholics more than the Anglican is just religious chauvinism on your part. Anambra is 80% catholic, so no significant changes will be noticed in the part of the Anglican as it is like at a ratio 8:1. Upon all, Obi was a business man before being a governor likewise T.A Orji. You don't expect him not to be business inclined. He has provided the jobs and the industries and continuity must prevail through a Technocrat and that's why the need for Soludu and Obiano. Since Soludu is out and Obiano won but is not yet declared, just watch and see how things will change in the next 4years. We needed a foundation which Obi has laid......the rest is continuity. 8 Likes |

When we asked ASUU to stop, they refused. We asked FG to pay the money so we could all go back to school, they refused. Now they have added two young ladies to the robbery squad we are trying to eradicate. Is a good thing to me, if ASUU and FG refuses to stop this their joke of a strike, then the students have no choice than to paint them bad in front of the international community. Increase the crime rate until Nigeria is being ranked Number in the world global crime rate but please, the attack shouldn't be on the populace but rather all ASUU members and all government officials that has failed to intervene or is in support just because they want campaign money come 2015. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: Nigeria Economy Expands To 6.81% In Third Quarter by Slizbeat(m): 10:35am On Nov 19, 2013 |
As the report stated, "Poverty still remains high", I agree and concur to it. That's the only sacrifice we have to make at this point in time. Economic growth brings about Investment (Foreign) and inturn provides adequate employment to cater for the welfare of the masses. Anambra is a case study here....due to the massive industrialization of Onitsha-Nnewi axis, more jobs has been created and now Anambra has one of the lowest poverty rate in Nigeria and one of the lowest Unemployment rate coupled with the increased standard of living.(Remember, all these began to happen in 2010 after a legal government entered in 2006). BTW, It's only when the economy grows to a certain point that everyone's standard of living will be increasing speedily and steadily as a result of the investment which accompanied the growth. Economic growth comes first before it raises the standard of living, they don't run concurrently lest you have to wait for another 50 years to be stabilized but going by this, if the economic growth increases by 4-10% in the next 2 years, then Vision 2020 will be a reality. 2 Likes |

Politics / The Burden On Ngige, What He Requires From The Supplementary Elections To Win. by Slizbeat(m): 10:01am On Nov 19, 2013 |
AMONG the 23 governorship candidates that filed out for the Anambra elections last Saturday, Senator Chris Ngige, the All Progressives Congress (APC) standard bearer is arguably, the most experienced in terms of managing affairs at the Government House. At least, he has been there before and left indelible footprints. One Anambra politician said Ngige’s popularity arose from the landmark achievements he recorded during his illegal three-year tenure. “Ngige made us to know that there is money in government. Before Ngige, our political leaders used to tell us that the state government cannot do anything because they don’t get anything from the Federal Government, that because the Igbos lost the civil war, they no longer receive allocation from Abuja, and so there is no development and Federal presence in the South-East. Ngige showed us that godfathers who were milking the state were responsible for the lack of development in Anambra. He stopped the godfathers and used the money to build roads and provide infrastructure before the Appeal Court nullified his election in 2006,” he said. Many Anambrarians share this view, which may have accounted for the good mileage Ngige recorded in last Saturday’s election in spite of the numerous hurdles erected on his path. Performance as governor The major factors going for the APC flag bearer in the elections were his performance as governor between 2003 and 2006 and his popularity. Outside that he had the politics of zoning, incumbency factor, political platform, deportation of Igbo saga, the Obi of Onitsha & APC campaign flag-off misgivings and the Zik-Awo controversy among others all stacked against him. Platform&deportation hurdle: Contestably, it has been argued that Ngige may have fared better if he used any other platform apart from APC, which in the opinion of some Igbo, is a Yoruba-cum-Hausa party with a culture that is alien to Ndigbo. Wrongly or rightly, an APC government in Lagos, recently, ‘deported’ some Igbos to Onitsha and dropped them at night at Onitsha Bridge. During the altercation that ensued between the Anambra and Lagos state governments, Ngige backed Governor Raji Fashola. His position regardless of whether it is right or wrong won him some opposition in Anambra. To worsen matters, his untidy handling of his campaign flag-off in Onitsha, the ancestral land of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe at a time the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe and Onitsha indigenes were holding their Ofala festival, was also a minus to Ngige’s political aspiration. His political opponents made capital out of this misadventure by accusing him of bringing ‘foreign gods’ to desecrate Igboland at a time there shouldn’t be a parallel activity in Onitsha apart from the Ofala. Zik-Awo controversy: The election was held on November 16, the birthday of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe. If Zik were alive, he would have been 109 years last Saturday. APGA leaders played the Zik’s card. Zik’s party in the First Republic, NCNC had Cock as symbol same as the APGA’s. Many Igbo irredentists recalled that the late Dr. Azikiwe after winning election in the Southwest in colonial Nigeria was denied opportunity of service by the Chief Obafemi Awolowo-led AG in the famous carpet-crossing saga and wondered why a “Yoruba” party should be honoured on Azikiwe’s birthday, which a victory for Ngige would have amounted to. Politics of zoning: The outgoing governor, Mr. Peter Obi is from Anambra Central senatorial zone, where Senator Ngige comes from. Obi took over from Ngige in 2006. By the time Obi completes his eight-year tenure next year, Anambra Central would have had an unbroken 11-year stint at the Government House. If Ngige wins and does two terms, it means the zone will rule the state for 19 years. Anambra South has ruled the state for state for six years while Anambra North has never had a chance. The implication of the scenario played out at the polls with stakeholders aligning with the argument that Anambra North, which is the food basket and oil-producing area of the state should be allowed to have a shot at the Government House. Can the camel pass through the eye of the needle? Giving the outcome of Saturday’s election, it will be easier for the biblical camel to pass through the eye of the needle than for Ngige to win the election. The Independent National Electoral commission(INEC) has declared the election inconclusive and announced that there will be supplementary election in 208 polling units for the winner to emerge. The 208 polling units have 113,113 registered voters. The highest number of the repeat exercise would be held in Idemili North local government area, which is the stronghold of the APC candidate, Senator Chris Ngige where the election would be held in 160 polling units. The affected areas in the local government have combined registered voters’ population of 89,997. INEC returning officer for the governorship election, Professor James Epoke, who is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, said other areas where the supplementary election would hold include three polling units in Ayamelum local government (1247 voters), one polling unit in Anambra East (250 voters), six units in Anambra West (2000 voters), one unit in Anaocha (276 voters), two units in Awka North (1356 voters), one unit in Aguata (310 voters) and one unit in Awka South (249 voters). Results announced Others are three units in Ekwusigo (884 voters), two units in Idemili South (800 voters), one unit in Onitsha North (484 voters), 17 units in Onitsha South (12299 voters), four units in Orumba North (588 voters) and four units in Oyi (1202 voters). In the results announced so far, the APGA candidate, Chief Willie Obiano scored 174, 710 votes followed by the PDP candidate, Comrade Tony Nwoye who polled 94,856 votes, while Senator Ngige of APC polled 93,300 votes. Obiano also won in 16 of the 21 local government areas, while Nwoye and Ngige won in two local government areas each. To win the election, Ngige must win at least 81,411 votes from the available 113,113 in the supplementary election and ensure that Obiano did not secure any votes. This is indeed a tough one and will take a miracle to be practically assailable. www.vanguardngr.com/2013/11/burden-ngige/ |

This is the official complain thread for the almost concluded Anambra election. Table your complains here and someone somewhere on the thread will put you through. Starting from me, this is what I have to bring to the house: 1. I don't see any reason why PDP, APC, and LP will not agree to accept whatever result INEC will release. 2. Idemili election which was rescheduled was the right and best thing to do except the APC has something they wanted to do that yesterday and because it had been rescheduled, they wouldn't be able to. 3. Lastly, people say all sort of things like "Vote individual and not party" but they forgot to understand that the party is going to control the individual whenever they win. If not, why should one be told "Vote for Umbrella" and not "Vote for Nwoye"?? You can now begin but please no bashing or use of tribalistic words. |

igbsam: Yoruba Language will be very difficult to fade away easily. I went to Benin Republic (cotonou) on a business/official trip. When i got there, the man i went to see could not speak nor understand english but only french language, i could not speak french but only english, yoruba, igbo, okpe and urhobo language fluently. It became difficult for me. while i was there staring at him and waiting for an interpreter he asked to come around, a call came in through my MTN Phone (Roaming) and then i was speaking with the person on the other end in yoruba language, the man stood up, walked to me and spoke to me in yoruba language. I was shocked. Partly True on the Jamaican part but false on the Benin part. It's about 35% cos they make up the major ethnic gropu after 2 or 3 others. Well, Jamaica is majorly Igbo evoled into Patois. the word "unu" rings a bell in Jamaica. |

End point of the matter is that "THE CONVOY BELONGS TO AN APC GOVERNOR" as all surrounding states apart from ONDO are APC states. At every point, you lots e.g berem, will be demanding proof when it's obviously clear for you to see. But when it involves any PDP state, you are all quick to believe it happened even without proof(except WADA'S case which he accepted). Anyways, Fashola is a lawyer and always requires proof which you lots have also learned to do even in glaring evidence. Now again, why are they both denying?? I was at Abeokuta with my deputy and I was at marina while my deputy was outta the country?? That's an ALIBI if you ask me. |
