What is this one saying? I only answered your question. Being able to afford such a car here means you are well above the bottom ten percent unliike there where you don't have to be well in the top ten percent to have it. Now you comprehend yourself before typing ,seems you don't even understand the words coming out of your own mouth grin.

By the way, having a car and a phone is like Apples and Oranges ,my 5 years old neice has a smart phone grin grin cheesy.

But then again ,you can't have an iPhone max abi wetin dem call am as an adult and be begging for 1k in Nigeria. Na error be that.
here you go again misunderstanding the intent of my comment .... Who's even talking about Nigerians who own cars here?even at that, having the means to pay back the loan of brand new car implies that you re living better than most Nigerians don't you think? ... The key word here is means. Also who made mention of an iPhone? You re deliberately distorting my comment to suit your belief. My grouse with the idea held by some that Nigerians who can afford an android phone are already doing fine and need no assistance from the government. That in itself is an error and not true.

that's because most of those cars are gotten via car loans. You necessarily don't have a to rich to be able to get a car in America so long as you have a means to pay back the loan even if it's for 50 years .
"because? Does it mean that Nigerians that can afford android phones re richer or ve better means than average Americans? You should read to understand before quoting me

Chicken and egg situation...
Waiting for the government to do things that most governments do with tax revenue before you pay taxes. grin

Taxes are the obligation of citizenship (or residency). It is what gives you a voice and the moral right to make financial demands on government. In other words, it is the financial part of that vaunted social contract between the government and the governed. Unfortunately, in Nigeria, the oil windfall (that until relatively recently was produced by foreigners) has caused the government to become un-accountable to the citizenry since it does not rely on tax revenue paid by citizens, and has similarly caused the citizens to demand public services without bothering to pay for it.

Frankly, tax dodgers and evaders are just as societally “irresponsible” as the government. Furthermore, they are effectively “stealing” from those of us who pay taxes when they enjoy public services (public schools, hospitals, law enforcement) financed by those who bother to pay our taxes.
>
Dude you re so right, except that nobody really enjoys public service here. We pay for most of the things we use, imagine buying a transformer, poles, cables and paying nepa officials to install it and still pay bills monthly, really? The law enforcement agents kill more Nigerians than terrorist and there's nothing in public hospitals that is free, we pay for every service rendered and still pay tax that ll be stolen by politicians who don't pay tax... This is not magic, it takes time to gain peoples confidence once its lost, if our government start being responsible, more and more people will be happy to pay taxes

That usually happens in countries where citizens actually pay their taxes... grin
>
Paying tax to a government that can't be held accountable is like throwing money into the sea. A huge waste. Even the oil money they earn can't be accounted for. They want to reap where they ve not sown. When our government start acting responsibly people will be happy to pay taxes seeing what their money is being used for.
Politics › Re: Kyari: FG Will Divert ₦457 Billion Petrol Subsidy To Other Sectors by slowice(m): 7:53am On Apr 09, 2020
I ve lost faith in this government, I don't trust them at all. I still remember how the last administration distributed subsidy fund and it wasn't even full subsidy removal. They gave grants directly to Nigerians with valid business proposals through sure p and you win platform. But this current guys make sure they steal everything and if there's anything to be given to Nigerians, it will be done fraudulently and not on merit taking everything to the North. Can't trust them any more.
