poiZon:First sensible thing I have read here today. Most comments here are naive, ignorant and just outright juvenile. No matter what anyone writes, he shouldn't be subjected to harassment of any sort. The simple concept of democracy allows everyone to have a say even the most dishonest one. The government has no rights under the constitution to arrest anyone for opinions aired or shared. Government can only sue. Slap a libel suit on the guy or defamation of character. Something so large that the guy will think twice before writing any rubbish again. If we allow this new trend to persist, we are giving the government a free hand to even arrest and jail the guys with legitimate stories. |
cabaliciouscabal:It's humility not humbleness. Use your phone dictionary!!! No pun intended. |

texazzpete:Stupidity has built a mansion in your brain. What is good for the geese should be good for the gander too. You're quick to vilify PDP but when open bare faced corruption stares u in the face, your brain goes comatose. Maybe you should send the boy a letter of commendation since you have nothing to say about his disgusting/pornographic display of ill gotten wealth. |
persius555:Nothing experimental about zyloric. It's been in use for years. FDA certified. It is used to treat gout. Which is a very painful debilitating ailment. Allopurinol (zyloric) has helped patients deal with the symptoms of gout for years. The drug has been a life Davey for a lot of people. It's unfortunate that he reacted this way to the drug. They cannot win a case against GSK because it is clearly stated that SJS MAY occur in the adverse drug reaction section....but they may have a case against the doctor/hospital for not adequately probing. |
AnanseK:2007 interview..... and the government is acting as if corruption started understand GEJ. Obasanjo has become a poster boy for the government!!! |
anyone against the probe of the immediate past Govt is not fair to Nigeria. If the President says he met an empty treasury, it's appropriate to find out how the money accruing to Nigeria was spent and whose pockets was lined. but what I find hard to understand is why people on this thread do not see the need to probe other governments that came before Jonathan's. is that not what we have been praying for? Did Nigeria become this bad in just six years? My submission is: probe Jonathan. Probe halliburton case, revisit ndudi elumelu power scandal, revisit 12billion gulf war windfall scandal and a whole lot more. Failure to do this give a section of the country the impression that they are the low hanging fruit, easy to be picked out. |
hensben:Yes O , and its the same people that have transmuted to APC and become progressives all of a sudden. Smh |
Anyone who believes Boko Haram can be defeated by the barrel of a gun is an ostrich. If you kill 10 of them, 20 more are waiting to take over the baton. Until these people understand that there are no virgins and rivers of wine waiting for them in Alijana, we are just wasting time. How many can we kill? The war can only be won in the mosques and schools. An ideological counter insurgency is what we need. It will be a long drawn out war. It will take years before rooting it out. Politicizing it like the ruling party did in the last elections won't help matters. |
Vicadonis:You obviously dont know about India and their experience with terrorism do you? Ask someone about Kashmir. |
Arik air should tell us the true reasons they are suspend ing flights to Dubai and spare us this roulette. The truth is that they can't continue flying that route because it is not economically viable for them. A situation where you fly only 10-15 passengers in an Airbus 380 to Dubai was never tenable. it doesn't even cover the cost of taking care of the crew. Why did they leave the lucrative routes untouched? |
Does this give a hint as to the path the General is towing as regards press freedom? I pray not. Supporting this move is really myopic. People are failing to see the larger picture. Yes, AIT outrightly said some despicable and stupid things ,but didn't TVC do the same? Slap a libel suit on them..don't bar or ban them. Yes, he is within his rights to bar them but this sends wrong signals about GMBs temperament. Can he take criticisms cos as president of Nigeria he will be criticized. Come May 29. Goodluck s baggage, becomes his. Has anyone heard about Fox news in the US. They so hate Obama and spew rubbish against him. Guess what, he grants interviews to them sometimes. |
signz:Some of the assertions |
onyedikachukwue:Nwanne, we know better than to disrespect elders, especially royalty, no matter how unbecoming or childish they are. If He really said those things, karma will take care of him. Insulting him brings you down to his level. |
Nobody said it was ever going to be easy to change the country after 54 years of gross mismanagement by successive administrations. It won't be shocking if oil prices go below 35USD PB this year due to the fact that there will soon be a glut once sanctions on Iran are lifted and they are allowed to pump crude into the market. It will get worse before it becomes better. Buhari must be courageous and downsize our overbloated civil service cut excesses, address contract inflation etc. He should remember Nigerians put him there, not vested interests and political godfathers.Where there is a will, there is a way |
illiad:Never pray for war. The consequences are catastrophic. If you're married and have kiss, you will never ask for war |
Smartresult:yes even the paedophile priest are going to heaven abi |
ojobekehinde:Spot on bro. How can any right thinking person expect the FG to give them portable water? What then is the job of your governor. Even security in the state is the SG's responsibility. We should begin to demand more from our governors! |
joeyfire:Ps add Theodore Orji to that list. |
whether money is spent on food, kerosine or excercise books, it is all the same and both parties are wrong. it is just aimed at buying rje consciences of the poor and deflecting argument on real issues. in neighbouring Ghana, any election gimmick to be given out must be bought by the recipient. parties are mandated by the law to publish names of all donors. we are encouraging corruption with all this inordinate spending |
lookingforjob:i really wonder how a human being can harbour so much hate on the inside. i perceive you are a little kid that has gone through a lot growing up. you need love, someone to hold your hand and tell you its going to be ok. hate like this will only lead you to do something stupid and ignorant. pls my friend, there is help available. take advantage of it b4 it gets too late. |
Wow, so much hate. Who is this guy. If he loves Nigeria so much as he claims, why did he not tell us this in 2011. This would have helped us make up our minds and not vote him in. Was he expecting something that didn't work out. How can u even use something someone told u in confidence against him. This guy is just the dvine of the earth. |
All this makes no sense to the man on the street. The important thing to me is lower interest rates. That's what encouraged SMEs. That's what drives the economy. Until we can acheive that, all na wash. |
Great that GEJ is getting involved but I so wish that people manning various organs/institutions of Govt are responsive to their duties. If the president keeps intervening in every one of such cases, then he may never have time for anything else |
This woman brought this on herself. Why belittle herself by hawking, when she could easily have made loads of money by simply stowing one of her kids away on a flight going to from Benin to God knows where!! Guvnor Osho would have relished the opportunity to flash a big smile across TV screens, showing his magnanimity. She no just try. !!!! |
The comments on this thread shows this country is a big train wreck. Nobody sees things objectively anymore. Its all gone parochially tribal. Why on earth would people come here to justify the actions of Madam minister rather than see it for what it really is: brazen corruption. At this rate anything these people do is justifiable to most nairalanders simply because the person hails from my own part of the country. The Rwanda experience means nothing to most of us. If buying 2 armored vehicles in an uncertain economic climate(where most sane countries are embarking on cost cutting measures) isnt a clear case of economic waste and official corruption...then I will never know the meaning of the word. And before you tribal warlords start railing, I am from the same part of the country as she is! |
This is a non issue. Do u think the devil is afraid of the "bible"...he quoted from it in his quest to deceive Jesus. He reads the bible and knows it. Where it is written is just physical, Moses tablet, apple tablet, kJV...u name ur version, they are just letters. The word of God is the Zoe, the one u have put on the inside of u that u can reproduce in situations. That's what matters. The letter killeth but the Spirit giveth life. |
Stupid childish ethnic warlords with their brains in their anal sphincters...must every thread be turned into an ethno/religious warfare. I wont be suprised if the ages of most posters on this thread is revealed. keep bashing your STUPID IGNORANT selves while politicians smile to the bank. The revel in your stupidity. By the way this is so simple... I owe GEJ nothing, what has he done for his SS people let alone SE. The north has had their lion share in the power equation still they have the poorest stinkiest people in the land.GEJ only gets my vote if - He fulfils at least 50% of his election promises and give plausible reasons why he couldnt fulfil the rest - A candidate from any part of the country fails to convince me he has better programmes that will benefit me and my kids. If he performs, we keep him, if not we show him the way out. Cant we judge based on issues and not on tribal sentiments? Is that too much to ask? |
mitwitdot: for those who dont know, The release of Al-Mustapha is a political strategy employed by Jonathan's men to gain political grounds in the north come 2015 election. Considering the overwhelming support and crowd he pulled in Kano on his arrival, its a solid strategy by the President to gain acceptance amongst Northerners notwithstanding the number of innocent lives he took and families bearing the grunt. It is all POLITICS! Na wa O! Sometimes it is good to sit down and think b4 punching your keyboard. To insinuate that those erudite scholars and gentlemen of the bar can perennially be influenced is insulting to the Appeal court. This is the appeal court bro. They deal with hard evidence and not folktales. Yes we all know that Mustafa had a hand in Kudi's murder but if it cannot be substantiated with hard evidence, then it remains just stories. Abeg leave Oga Jona out of this one. I just pity that lovely woman that died for nothing. Nigeria isn't worth dying for. |
