This thread asnwers all these questions, it has being repeated over and over here https://www.nairaland.com/826936/uk-student-visa-tier-4

The starting date of that acount and the end date takes care of the 28days thing, OR before you print out the bank statement, pay any small amount or withdraw any small amount from that account then print out the bank statement. The withdrew or payment serves as end date of that account and could be used to determind how long the money has being there.

You need to attach your birth certificate to show that he is actually your daddy.

alright thanks..but should i write the balance in pound sterling on the bank statement

hi justwise...i'm about to apply for another student visa and i have a few questions here
1. my sponsor's statement of account has about 1000 pounds more than the total amount i need to show, hope this wont have any effect on the application
2. my bank cover letter does not tell if the funds have been held for 28 days, but the funds have actually been held in d account for more than 28 days. hope the eco wont have any problems with this. will he check for that by himself?
3. there's no conversion on the account statement. is advisable to do the currency conversion on the date of the closing balance and write it by hand on the account statement? and can i write the amount that has been held in the account for 28days too by hand?.

awaiting ur response sir

That number he sent you is what matters, that is the number CAS, you only need to fill in that number in your visa application form then print that email he sent and attach it to your visa application package.

okay thank you sir

He said he will not issue you another CAS and at the same time show you a new CAS number?

yes..in d document he sent, there is a new number on it and he told me to use it that way and that they have already informed the ukba about change in start date.

what do u think sir?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by smartmachine(m): 10:15am On Feb 06, 2013
hello justwise..i was refused my tier4 visa a couple of weeks back and according to your opinion i contacted d school for another CAS. now the man in charge told me that i would not need anotherCAS because he has contacted the ukba informing them about my new start date. he sent me a a document showing the old start date and the new date and a new CAS number. please will this document be ok to use in place of the CAS? I mean can I attach the old CAS withnthat dcument he just sent or what can i do to be able to claim 30 points in this aspect?..thanks
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by smartmachine(m): 1:17pm On Feb 04, 2013
hello all,
someone just asked me here if the ukba will give him an extra four months or less if he is given a one year visa for his tier4 visa for masters degree. please people who have an experience should shed more light on this. justwise what can u say to dis?

Review will take at least 4months, don't waste your money on any immigration lawyer, it will not make any difference

but pls do i have to tell d school to send me a new CAS for the two weeks extension or will a letter be ok?

If the money in both accounts have clocked 28days then i'm surprised that you were refused a visa, i'm sure you were given the right to appeal? sadly you don't have time for that as it takes ages, can you get 2wks extension from your school and re-apply?

thanks for ur opinion
okay maybe thats what i will do..i wil reapply

but there's also an option in my refusal letter that i can apply for a 'review of the decision'. does this mean 'to appeal'?
but when i checked out of vfs in ikeja..some people were talking about these immigration lawyer stuffs..how far wil that go if i heed to them, even though i dont believe in them.

You submitted the Union bank account alone or both Zenith bank account and the union bank account? In total how many bank accounts did you submit and state clearly how much in each of them

i submitted both zenith bank and union bank
in zenith bank i have exactly 20100 pounds
in union i have 3000 pounds(i converted using 260 naira for 1pound)

my whole fees both course and maintenance is 14820 and 7200, but i have already paid 1500 and it was shown in my CAS. so all i needed to show is just 20520 pounds.

but the eco only made mention of the union bank account..he said i dont have enough funds. he did not make mention of the zenith bank account.

even in my document pack he has removed the union bank account statement, but he left the zenith statement.

i dont knw why he did that anyway
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by smartmachine(m): 3:04pm On Jan 25, 2013
hello justwise..i have just been refused student visa. i wanted to go for my masters programme. the ECO's reason is that my funds are insufficient. but in the application i went with 2 bank statements..let me break it down for u.
i already paid 1500 pounds out of 14820 and i need 7200 for maintenance. in my sponsor's (dad's) zenith bank account he has 20,100pounds and i just used his union bank account to supplement the remaiming 500pounds and he even has about 3000pounds in that account.

now the eco toldme in d refusal letter that my union bank account does not have enough money for the purpose of my maintenance. pls wat do u think could be wrong with my application. i added the union bank account cos som1 here told me i can use two accounts. now the eco did not say anything about the zenith bank account. now i have little time left. my course resumes Feb 11. do u think i should apply for reviewing the refusal or should i make arrangements for another application?
thanks

hi all, a question for you here please

i want to apply for UK tier 4 visa within the next one week but i have not paid anything for accommodation even though i have paid enough money for tuition already. please is there any chance of getting my visa without yet paying for the accommodation? i have all the funds necessary to use for this payment though.
thanks for ur responses in advance

Good day all,

A question here pls...

I got an admission at Newcastle and the programme is due to start by Feb 11. My dad is my sponsor and he has approximately the amount of my tuition fees in his account which has been held in the account for some time. Now he needs to add more funds to this account from his other account so there can be a good increase in the account I want to use for the visa application. But since I read about the 28 day thing, does it mean that even the new amount he wants to add to the account must also stay for 28 days before i can apply for visa?

Thanks in advance for ur responses.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by smartmachine(m): 7:14am On Nov 15, 2012
Hello all, a brief question here.

I got admitted into Newcastle University for a 1year MSc programme and resumption date is in Feb.

I have read through this thread about visa application and so on, but I don't seem to understand. The issue of having finances in sponsor's account for a month before being eligible to apply for visa.

My questions are:

1. does my sponsor (dad) need to have the required finances in his account for about a month before I can apply for visa with UKBA?

2.Someone told me that no matter the type of visa u apply for, u will be given a six month visa firstly, then u will have to renew after 6 months. How true is this statement?

3. How long does the visa processing take after applying?.

4. Apart from the CAS, what other documents may be required?

Please I will be glad to receive ur views on my enquiries here.

@ d baba, please, inbox me copy of your waiver letter from your school. What my school sent to me doesn`t look like a letter but a line of sentence in a mail. my add is oyeloluw@isu.edu Please, am waiting for response

Dear Smartmachine,

This email serves as verification that I** does not require the SAT for admission purposes. Please also note that the TOEFL has been waived for you because the language of instruction in your country is English.

Please take this verification with you to your visa interview.

Best regards,
Shawn Bascom

d_baba: I just received a waiver letter for GRE from my school. I wrote TOEFL in January and scored 93. I bet I could have scored more if not for the sudden change of venue on the exam date which really unsettled me. Trust me its not difficult and can only make u better. Following this thread has given me so my ideas as my interview is approaching, part of it is the waiver letter for GRE cos my school didn't require it and did not know it might count against you for visa interview. Grateful for that.
